Wait you are kidding right?

This Movie for me is what made Bale an action figure.

The same narrative doesn't equate to the same quality.

But its also funny that the classic/memorable Marvel films have been outside the MCU.

Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse.
Sam Raimi's Spiderman 1 and 2.
One third of the X-men film series.

Kindly explain that...
Just like Universal won't allow MCU make a stand alone Hulk movie.
You can't win em all.

Kindly remove Logan from your write up. That film is a classic far above anything the dunderhead fans and team at the MCU can come up with.

Logan follows the same narrative, being lost, being vulnerable.

Of course, you used the exact adjectives used for other MCU films since its inception:"always funny and interesting with nice action scenes.

One would have thought that by now words like "thought provoking, mind bending, stylish, captivating, intriguing, realistic, noir" would have been added to the mix.

But no, Marvel's film always have to be "filled with laughter-inducing-one-liners" with "Nice-CGI-forgettable combat-scenes".

Tell yourself the truth, Jeromeblack.

Two days from now, do you think there's anything about this movie that'll stand out or would probably linger in your memory for let's say a period of 6 months. I guess, most likely not.

In as much as I understand, that there is a place/audience for films like this, you, me and every cinephile out there have to agree that Marvel should start doing better.

Nice and funny doesn't cut it. It could be nice, it could be funny and it could have something else added to the mix.

I repeat it again for Marveltards like Mjbolt, hulk616, Vic2ree, Afobear and Gustav25 to hear.

If Marvel should continue like this, their name will be forgotten like a scarf in a desert storm.

Let he who has an ear, hear.

Back to seeing my "Gone baby gone".
In as much as I hate to admit it, MCU is miles ahead of DCEU and also ahead of other action genre.

What MCU got right is its human element
.

Apart from the Hulk, just look at all the stand alone movies on the Avengers, even Logan was thrown into the mix.

At some point all these characters hit rock bottom.

Wolverine lost his healing powers in Logan, he was just like your average joe that can die.

Tony Stark lost his suit in Iron man series, he was back to square one.

Thor, Ragnar, lost his hammer, it was replaced with self doubt.

Steve Rogers, was a frail looking somebody that was thought would never amount to shiit, he was also at rock bottom.

Even Black Panter was stripped of his powers, so every one could see he won using his human prowess.

Spiderman Homecoming, did you ever wonder why they had to reduce Peter to square one that a whole Spidey was (literally) crying for help?

This scenario tends to happen in most MCU hits, the message is clear, what you do when you hit rock bottom is what makes you a hero.
Following in Stan Lee's philosophy.

Now do get me started with clowns over at DCEU, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and some other 21 century disaster I don't care to remember.
How can you relate with these characters that have been made to look like gods even in their weakest state?
Even when Superman came back from the dead it was like he just went to the bathroom and came back.
No human element, just brawl and fly around.

The only saving grace DC had in the past 2 decade was Batman's The Dark Knight.
From when Bruce was just another lost soul that traveled far and wide to train his human body to become a weapon to becoming a master of his emotions, this any human can relate to and be inspired.

'nuff said.

Training Day... 8.8/10
Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller

One of the flicks that won Washington the Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Lead Role. An edge of the seat flick, with an original content. Perfect & remarkable acting from the Washington & Ethan Hawke, they owned their respective characters a 100%, also, the directing was amazingly done. When we talk of classics, this was a classic cop flick. If you are a fan of Washington movies, am recommending this flick to you.
From the list of movies you are posting of late, its like you are really rolling back the years.

I think will go find me some Blues Brothers "can you see the light?"

whats your take on this movie?

The off screen info I read about the cast crew was interesting, The lead character is well into his 50s but could carry out a very impressive fight scene. He was carry a serious back injury in the first fight scene on the beach, he said kicking was very painful for him, but we never knew.

having his first led roll when he is in his 50s, a late bloomer perhaps.

hacking?? At the beginning of the movie, when they were still in their planet they were transforming to trucks, cars, jets.

Well hidden? When bumblebee landed on Earth, a decepticon attacked him Immediately.

Hahahahah really?
The general consensus is that Bumblebee is the best movie from the Transformers series, you should leave it at that.

But to me personally it's the worst Transformers series, if I want to see a domesticated robot I will go watch Wall-E if want to watch fireworks I go for the Transformers, but I rather got a Wall-E in Bumblebee.

If you are watching this movie, you need to watch Alien: Covenant to know the the aftermath of this movie.

If you like Alien franchise you should watch this, cos there is a strong link here.
But there are lot of plot holes here in the movie, I needed to watch some YouTube clips to really understand the whole story here.

Lord of the Rings trilogy - 9/10

This is one of my all time favourites. The casting, soundtrack are on point.
When it comes to Lord Of The Rings, all the stars were aligned when it comes to making a movie..
From the Directors, the Producers, The Scores, the Digital Photography, Digital Effects, The Costume Designers, the Editors, the Cast and so on.

It took a great team to deliver this movie not just the Story or The Director or The Cast.

When I watched the Directors Cut years ago, I stopped looking at movies as it's only the job of the stars on screen to make a movie a masterpiece.
There is a lot that goes in to make a timeless classic like this, that's why I insist any actor/actress can deliver a masterclass if they work with brilliant production team.

Have you seen Hidalgo starring Viggo Mortensen?

The plot of that flick had confusion written all over it. One minute, its was an unfinished vendetta story by Schwarzenegger, the next minute, it's something else, the next minute, it switches to something completely different...IMO, Schwarzenegger wasn't even the appropriate cast for the original concept of that movie, Liam Neeson would have done a more sober & better act/job..Its a 5.5/10 for me, cause of the action scenes.
I dont think there is anything confusing about the story line, he starched the money from the operation for a good reason.
A man that had the body parts of his wife sent to him in bits is someone that will go to any length to have his pound of flesh (even though he acted like he has gotten over it). The members of the team started killing each other because they could not trust each other, they did not suspect it was the team leaders that took the money.
If you could remember when Schwarzenegger asked the girl why she killed the team members she said its because they took the money.

Schwarzenegger needed money to gather intel on the man that tortured and killed his wife and son, this was the only way he could raise the money. So I dont find the story confusing at all.

I dont think a Liam Neeson is needed in this movie, Arnold would have done just fine if the character was tailored around his strong points (Take Commando for instance), you dont need much talent when you are dealing with Revenge or Survival, you just need a good plot and a good production team.

The action scene is just mediocre.

Sabotage

I like the storyline here, though the plot could be better.

An FBI agent busted a drug lord, but it cost him his family.
His wife and son were kidnapped and tortured to death, he was sent a video of how it was done.
They mail him his wife's body parts for days.
He went to Mexico wipe out a drug gang but could never find the drug lord that organized the whole thing.
His team brought him back home.

But what he did to get back to Mexico to find the drug lord is what this movie is all about.

It's a pity the production team did not do Arnold Schwarzenegger or the original concept of this story any justice.

7.5/10 (just for the good storyline).

In the heart of the see (2015)

This is a movie about a monster with a different feel. You'd be surprised at what man can do just to survive. It's a wonderful experience for me and I enjoy every minute invested in seeing the pictures.

8/10
And the so called critics with their ratings said the only Movies Chris Hemsworth is good at is when he is welding a hammer.

Am looking forward to the real Moby-Dick series, hope they stay true to the original story.
And this should be played by the captain that warned them about "That" whale.

8/10 for me.

Actually I think he does care. If you rewatch Punisher: War Zone, you'd see just how much he cared when he mistakenly killed that undercover FBI agent.

The guy blew his face off clearly needed killing. That's why he didn't even hesitate.

In this case, I sincerely believe Thomas Jane continued his role from the 2004 Punisher. If you notice he was trying hard to mind his business. All he needed was a good reason to go Berserk and he got one.
Thomas Jane's was only a good movie, but nothing close to what the Punisher is all about (too damn emotional for my liking), the Punisher needs no reason to go berserk. If he finds you trying to commit a crime you will die a brutal death if he is no hurry. Thats what Frank Castle is all about.

You have to understand, we are talking post revenge Frank Castle here, someone that is carrying a heavy grudge against the bad guys.

Ofcos he has to be upset for killing a good guy, thats a mistake on his part. People that take their job very seriously are naturally upset about a mistake.

The Punisher doesn't give a fuck_.
If you want the real Punisher as depicted in The Marvel comic Books then Ray Stevenson's Punisher - War zone is your go to guy.
The rapist in this case would have experienced 2 things,
The first is he would have been tied down and witness an incision from the tip of his diick down to groin,
Or
His brain would have been splattered all over the woman he is trying to rape.

If he could blow up guys head close range with a Shotgun while holding a child with the other hand, this one just doesn't care.

That's why Hollywood will always be make believe and Nollywood will be believe in being fake.

If this was a Nollywood movie, since Soyinka is based in the US he would have been made to speak only English and sound like a white Tony Blair at all cost.

The Director of Gringo is not even an African but he brought the real African out in Soyinka's character, that's why we are miles away from Hollywood, our "fakeness" in Nollywood is unparalleled.

They should have just adapter it to a tv series to better flesh out the story. The only king book adaptation I like so far is IT(I'm undecided on wether I liked the removal of the orgy scene or not). grin
The Dark Tower book collection is a long series on its own, let's hope there will be a better sequel.

It would have been a big hit in Nigerian cinema

One of the few (if not the only) good movies that portrayed a Nigerian in good light, a Hollywood movie for that matter.

Unlike District 9 where Nigerians were seen as people that eat the Aliens and their organs and are black market sellers of the alien tech.

Gringo 8.5/10 for me.

it never occurred to you that Eli (Denzel) protected what was in his head until he took his breath? Even when he could have used it to amass idiotic followers to further his own gain.

There is no power of religion in the movie bro, just a strong sense of belief laid on the foundation of doing what is right. This is the very reason Eli got a disciple in the movie.
You are missing my point, its not about Eli, its about Carnegie, he wanted the Bible for himself. Or what do you think he was going after Eli for? if he has the book people will worship him.

He wanted the Book for him self so that he can use it to appear as the savior, he was already in charge of water so it wont be difficult for him to be like a god if he had the Bible, if they were not religious that book (The Bible) would not even matter to anyone seeking it.

Avengers: End Game - 7.5/10

The Hulk was virtually useless,

How Did Tony Stark get the infinity gauntlet off Thanos so fast or was that some nanotech?

The writer piece together nicely why Doctor Strange offered Thanos the time stone in Infinity Wars, if there is anything I like is the continuity.

To me Scott Lang is the Usung Hero here, even when the smartest mind of all of them (Tony Stark) told him his plan was laughable he persisted.

Finally my heart became heavy when I saw 'Nuff Said at the back of Stan Lee's car, this is how he ends all his articles in the Editor's page of his comics.
I guess the subliminal message here is this may be the end of his appearances in MCU.

R.I.P Stan (the man) Lee.
