So, there's this small rat that has been playing hide and seek with me.

I have made several attempts to kill it but it always finds a way to meander and escape from me.

I feel helpless seeing this rat get away each time I try to kill it.

Then it happened one evening around 7pm. I managed to buy Nasco cornflakes in this lock down period and the wicked rat still insists I cannot keep it in my house in peace.

I kept the cornflakes beside my freezer and within few minutes, I started hearing some funny noise inside the nylon. I knew then that my uninvited visitor has come.

I didn't want the hide and seek no more. If I decide to let it out to kill it, it might still escape. So, I remembered the saying "There are many ways to kill a rat".

So, I just opened my freezer, packed the cornflakes with the nylon and closed it.

Your guess is as good as mine. My sweet frenemy escaped from the nylon and ran under my plate of soup to take cover, not knowing that that part of the freezer is even colder than where I left it.

Good news: The rat died happily ever after

I'm in the writing niche, and honestly I never use buyers request. 98% of my sales have been from direct messaging or social media. However, Fiverr has relegated my gig, and not just me, a few other top sellers too, we are all languishing way down the pecking order.

Also, I have better leverage when the customer comes to me, I'm not afraid to state my price and most times they always match it or we settle for something fair.

Again, I agree. It's dependent on niche. But imagine somebody posting a request for 5000 words and their budget is $10. I'm not even interested. I went there today and I just laughed my way out.

I have other talents that I may consider adding to Fiverr soon. Writing is just what I can combine with my normal life and job, plus for me it's super easy!

But buyers request is a waste of time for serious sellers in the writing niche. And I'm sure serious buyers (in my niche) don't post anything there either.

Glad you understand the point that I made. I started with article writing before moving into another niche and now I have my article writing gig paused (not deleted) to preserve my reviews from the gig.

Funnily, somebody will accept that offer. I use to wonder how Indians and Pakistanis do it.

A service I render for $250, an Indian will comfortably put his gig for $70 and may even have more services added to it.

My current service is much more flexible than article writing I must confess.

The one reason I preferr Fiverr to Upwork is that I don't always have to bid for jobs.

I may disagree with you bro. I sometimes prefer buyer requests than direct gig messages for the following reasons.

1. You select the requests that you send offers
2. You put your price in the bid
3. Receiving message here means you have passed 50% of the test. If you are able to convince the buyer any further with your replies and samples, you will get the job
4. It helps to boost a dying gig
5. This is actually the best place to use to gain reviews instead of buying. Just offer a lower price and over deliver


Disadvantages of having your gig on front page
1. Some buyers don't read the gig description. That's why there have been cases of cancelation due to ordering the wrong service
2. Same as one, a buyer will contact you and will be asking you to provide your premium service for the price of the basic because that's what they see when they click on your gig
3. Spam messages. One of my gigs is currently on the front page. 3 out of every 5 messages is spam. This reduces conversion rate until you gig eventually disappears from the front page.


Although, having your gig on the front page means more sales, less stress in seeking for jobs but I must tell you that buyers request still remains one of the best reasons I will hardly quit fiverr.


All you need to do is to master it and you will enjoy it. I feel lazy waiting for direct messages only.

After reading what Mr. Physics wrote up there, I have come to realize that buyer request is more effective for some gigs than others.

For example, anybody offering article writing, data entry, and all those services that people use to start freelancing is on a long thing sending offer.

I currently have a data entry gig but it is there for decoration. I hardly send offer for data entry service no matter how juicy it is.

Reason being that, before you type Jack Robinson, the offers are already 89. The buyer might put $50 and people will send offer of $20 just to win the bid. The competition is too fierce and unhealthy.

So, if you offer such service that before you can finish sending offer to one request, the others are already filled up, please disregard the buyer request page and buy reviews to rank your gig, you need it

It was a big birthday party for her hubby. I just wrote congratulations. One thing with me is that I hate spending money on parties, I'll rather give it to people around me or invest in buying land.
She later chatted with me on messenger and informed me that I made the birthday party happen, that she used the money I gave her to organize a surprise party for her hubby. I was so amazed.

My parents had boys and girls at the early stage of their reproduction. I don't know why they would continue to produce children upon children. I happen to be the last child so it wasn't as tough to me as it was for my older siblings.

I can't give birth to more than 4 children. I hate too many children. It ages the parents faster and slows their economic growth.

One of my siblings just had 6 children and and counting. I just pity him
