Hello everyone,

Please i need help and suggestions. from my refusal correspondence letter, i was refused based on
1) personal Assets
2) travel history
3) purpose of my visit.

Though, while i was submitting my application, i did not find the option to upload all the documents i prepared for my application, i only uploaded my admission letter, IRCC's forms, bank statement (First and last page) and personal letter.

i did not find any option to upload all these CIC certificate, police CCC, receipt of fees payment etc.
Wow sorry but you made a terrible mistake. Most of this documents could have been merged and uploaded in the client information section. Check my previous posts I explained how to go about uploading.

URGENT!
HELLO GOOD PEOPLE PLEASE ADVICE ME

I was recently refused (2 years Study Permit) based on Purpose of Visit, Travel history, Current employment situation, and Personal asset and Financial situation for fall term.

I applied earlier (without a co-sponsor) with just 1.2M NAIRA in my personal account (For flight) cus i got full funding of $23,400. Yesterday i won another funding, Saskatchewan Government scholarship of $16000.

The person i got as third party co-sponsor (If the "co" is ok in my case) just called me this morning that i should send him all what i need from him!

Please in order to keep it tight and simple this time...

1) How much is the "minimum" reasonable amount i should ask him to state to co-sponsor me, given the scholarship of $23400 + $16,000 i won. And his pledge should be toward what? (Flight, Tuition, Living expenses?).

2) Apart from the letter of sponsorship, what other less complicated documents should i ask him to send? He has a company and he is not someone i can demand too much from.

3) And please, is it ok if i get letter of future employment upon return from a company with official role similar to my MSc degree
4) How can i proof my wife will be fine financially when i leave her in Nigeria for two years?

I want to get things on ground while i await the GCMS note.

Thanks.

@ JustMellow Frankrobbn1 and other GURUS.
Congratulations on your funding. However this only takes the burden off financially. So I'll advice you don't get complacent. You still have to prove;

1. Home ties
2. What you intend to do with the program in Nigeria.
3. Tidy up your family finances before applying.
4. Work on a Co sponsor*

About your family you have ro provide proof that your wife is working or self employed and to further solidify this pay up your:
1. House rent for a year if it is rented and provide the receipt.
2. If you have kids pay their school fees for a year and provide receipts
3. Fund a savings account about 1.5-2mill and claim it to be an emergency fund account should incase something pops up in your absence.

You also need to draft a compelling LOE to explain previous denial. Like I said earlier don't get complacent.

Going to tru. I don't understand what you mean by accept their offer letter.

On the contrary tru sends a conditional acceptance letter in which you have to pay your tuition for a semester then you will be sent an acceptance letter.

And I have been seeing a lot of approvals here that got admitted into colleges. I am just kind of confused right now.
Don't get confused. It is not about the institution (University, College or Polytechnic) it's about the duration of the program. You have to do a lot to convince the vo on why you are going for a short program.

You mean there is a downside to going for an 8 months program?
Yes there is especially if your home ties are shaky. The Vo will think you are trying to use that channel to immigrate to Canada.

On the contrary you only get about a year post graduate work permit which might be too short.

Good afternoon people,it's my first time here
read through the post here
But my problem is this
I graduated with a second class lower which I couldn't get an a masters degree admission so I opted for a graduate certificate (1yr) my question goes thus
Will I be able to pursue my masters after the completion my my GC (like will it cover for lower degree deficiency)

The second is that how do I convince the VO that my graduate certificate because the sop I wrote I told the truth about having a lower degree and still wanna go for masters after the completion of the GC,please what do I do ?
Please help me
I'll advice you don't go ahead with this. You are undermining yourself by saying you are going for a rather expensive course for the sole purpose of enrolling for a future Msc program.

A graduate certificate is similar to an msc just that an msc is expensive, requires completion of a thesis before completion and offers a broad syllabus compared to a GC that is streamlined and trains you to be employment ready after completion.

I will advise that you overlook your low grades and compose something optimistic about your desire to undergo the GC program and the immense value to your career.

I just got a denial email, guys. sad The reason they gave was based on travel history and based on personal asset and financial status. I'm self sponsored and I have over 8m in my account which covers both tuition and living expenses for PGC. I also have landed properties which I furnished them with the survey plans. Not sure what went wrong. huh I'm about to order GCMS notes and reapply asap because I'm supposed to resume by Sep. Do you guys think I would be able to meet up? Kai, I was very optimistic eh! undecided Notwitstanding, I'll reapply.
Sorry to hear this, I hope you remain optimistic enough to work on the refusal reasons.

My early verdict would be the fact that you showed good financial portfolio however your finances is just within the border and doesn't show much proof of your ability to sponsor yourself for future semesters. I also noticed you didn't use a co-sponsor and that might make the Vo think you are straining your finances for a program that could otherwise be enrolled for in Nigeria.

Non the less order your gcms note and just incase you might need to defer. Also familiarise yourself with the schools refund policy.

I want to know if can use company account for application of study visa.
Yes you can, however the Vo might be concerned about how you or sponsor intends to use business funds to sponsor you through school. If it is accompanied by a decent savings account then it might fly.

Company account generally proofs that you have a good source of income and solidifies your integrity and ability to pay future living expenses or come back to the company after studies if you own it.

Reference letter from Sponsor bank
Full Tuition Receipt
Dads Landed Documents and estate valuation
Birth Certificate

Bsc Certificate
Waec print out
Admission letter

I currently work as an intern for IITA
and i planned on studying PGC Computer Application Development at Connestoga College

Submitted Online 4th of April
Biometrics 8th of April
Delay 8th of May
Just went through this and I am sorry to say but I found a loophole.

1. No vo will believe your employment situation. Everyone knows being an Intern is a temporary role and doesn't guarantee your long term involvement in the organisation. Hence the employment refusal reason.

2. You had a good sponsor and obviously good financial portfolio however there was so much emphasis on your Dad and you didn't include any proof of your personal asset and finance or any personal factor that can lure you back home.

The bottom line is this, you can manage to compose a compelling loe but how do you want to convince a VO about the changes in your employment situation within a few weeks. Get a letter from a superior confirming or assuring future employment after your program.

Another notable mention would be the duration of your studies, Conestoga is famous for short 8month programs and sometimes that spooks VOs. Once again sorry about the refusal you can however order gcms note but don't rush a reapplication.

After I was done with high school in 2015 I got admitted to a private uni the following year. It happened that I was not given my desired course coupled with other reasons i had to change. Then last year I applied for a US student visa. The first one was weird considering that I was hardly asked any question and those that went before me(long line oh)got refused aside like 3 people which were of old age. Then the second interview this year January went well but I was given a wrong bank statement. It was quite frustrating but didn’t let it stop me from applying for a Canadian trv. Then d following month I proceeded to submit my application at Lagos vfs. Then first week of April I got my medical request which I did at IOM. After which I checked my account some days later and saw medical passed. Then I got my correspondence on the 23rd. I was thinking I’d get my approval d next day oh but it was still processing and my Uni was to resume in May, so I just decided to give them a week. After no reply i sent emails to Kenya and Lagos telling them I’ll soon resume and pleaded to them for an update. Then on d 7th of May I got an email saying they have finalised my application. I logged in straight and saw final decision has been updated to approved with my counterfoil details below. I was really happy. Then some hours later I got an email from vfs that my passport is ready for collection. I was surprised cause I thought it’ll take some days. I went there this morning with my mom and picked it up in a sealed brown envelope. Opened it and d first thing I saw was d page which my visa was issued on. I just put my trust in God from the beginning and prayed over it with my mom(God bless her) and God answered our Prayers.

I didn’t know about this thread on nairaland till like 2 weeks after I submitted. Seeing d documents some submitted and I was like what?? I just knew i had all d CIC documents on d website, the financial documents my mom listed out,my educational documents and d sop which my sister recommended. I wasn’t able to link my application online for about 5 weeks after trying severally. It really bothered me but I just tried to keep calm. I messaged CIC and Kenya. Got replies from them but it wasn’t d answer tho. Not so long after that my medical mail came in with my app number and UCI which I used to link my profile online. Not to mention in my sop I didn’t explain d study gap(Don’t try it oh)cause I didn’t know how I’d explain it well to the VO in a way that won’t end up complicating things(had it typed down already a night before submission)so I just decided to leave it out but made sure I listed out what I did after high school in my study permit questionnaire(Attached a letter from where I was taking my computer courses). After my Medicals was passed I just had more faith that it will end in praise and thankfully it did. Like I said before I just prayed over and over. With God all things r possible!

Will be Travelling to British Columbia this week.

To all trv hopefuls I hope God will see you through.

Post baccalaureate programs is a like an extension of your previous degree. Just like getting extra credit to supplement your previous bsc degree and to give you an edge in a chosen field.

Greetings, I have been following this and previous threads and it has been really helpful. I just have a quick question. For those that applied online, what documents did you upload? I already uploaded loa and receipt of payment, passport photograph, international passport. For the proof of funds column, what documents needs to be uploaded?
This should answer your question. However you need to ensure that your documents are presented in a uniform manner in order to avoid confusion. Also ensure that when you compress your files ensure that the quality isn't lost.

Application for study permit made outside of Canada (IMM1294) (required) - Complete, save and Upload the study permit form.

Passport (required) - Upload your international passport.

Letter of Acceptance (required ) - Upload your letter of acceptance from the school.

Proof of means of financial support - Upload your Sponsorship letter, Affidavit of support, bank statements, payslips, sponsor's source of income (like- employment letters, introduction letters from employer, promotions letter etc.) or bussines documents (CAC certificates, tax clearance certificate, article of association and memorandum etc..) Also, include your already paid tuition receipt in this section (if any).

Digital Photo (required) - Upload your Passport Photograph. The passport size should be between 60KB to 240KB and the dimension should be 420X540.

Family Information (IMM5645) (required) - Complete, save and Upload the family form.

Schedule 1- Application for a temporary Resident Visa made outside Canada (IMM5257) (required) - Complete and Upload the form.

Client Information (required) - Upload your SOP/LOE, degree certificates, transcripts, birth certificates, recommendation letters from past and present employers, NYSC discharge papers, your work ID, your employment letters, resume etc... (every supporting documents should be uploaded in this section).
I hope you find the above information useful.

It's the employment verification process. You don't have to provide everything but to be on the safe side you should provide your employment letter and work ID card. Cic at random sometimes do physical verification of applicants work places. The chances are slim but not impossible.

PS: Salary account is also a plus.

thanks for your response and condolence,
actually i am not the breadwinner, i am just staying with my mum helping her out while i work as a software developer at an IT company in abuja. my boss already gave me a grant for leave for the next two years and also a sponsorship letter. in my letter of intent i claim the government plans to pay my dad his 15years pension arrears wihich my brother and i have planned to use to create a reputable family business.
as for my sponsors, they have opened a joint account in my name with 30k$ CIBC Bank. they also produced their SOA and letter from bank claiming their annual salary is about 191k $. i am also waiting to enrol in my fall semester term so i can pay my tuition as i cannot pay tuition without enrolling. after paying tuition then i can submit my visa application.
so my question is should i still upload my own personal SOA? thanks

Thank you for your response sir. As regards the home tie, I do not have any property in my name neither do I have a job. How else convincingly can I prove to the VO I'll return after my studies.
The only tie someone suggested was cool for me to use is my twin sister. we've never really stayed apart. Tho! we intended going for masters together but due to funds this seems not feasible anymore. And again, we studied outside Nigeria, an African country precisely. A friend feels this should convince the VO in some sort of way that I'll would want to return home because of her since this we be the first we be staying apart.
Then lastly, someone suggested since my course has alot to benefit my country, I should input details of how I'm planning coming back to invest my knowledge in home country in my SOP.. please what do you think? thank you once again..
1. Your family isn't the only thing that can stand for you as ties to your home country. So using your sister won't work. You need to tidy up your ties.

2. Stating you have no job will jeopardise your application because the vo will think you are not going to come back after your studies.

3. You definitely need a convincing sop and take care of your financial portfolio. You shouldn't have issues with travel history.

P.s: your friends are definitely trying to help out but stating you are going to come back because of your twin is vague and no vo will buy that.

Advice pls.
I have noticed the amount of supporting documents you've been compiling this past days. I know you think it makes a good case but too much of it might confuse the vo. So be careful the kind of documents you attach.

Hello guys, I've a little problem regarding my sponsor and how to prove tie to home country to the VO.
My Grandfather (Paternal) is the one sponsoring me but we have slight difference in our name spellings. He bears the short form of our surname alongside his son (our father) while I and my siblings bear the full version of the name. It happened that, about few years ago they reverted to the short form of the name while we already began owning certificates in the original surname so there was no one we could also revert to it so we had to continue using it.
Ques: How do I proof to the VO he's truly my grandfather
Secondly: How do I prove tie to home country as I'm just 21 years of age.
Finally: My mom intend going with me. I will like to know the possibility of this happening and the category of visa she will have to apply for.
ps: I'm going for masters. Thank you
To prove your relationship with your grandpa;
1. Get a few pictures you snapped with him
2. An affidavit explaining the discrepancy in your surname.

Your mum can apply with you if she intends to study also apparently and Canada opens door for family members to apply with principal applicants however it's a little tricky. The vo might think you are using the study route to immigrate to Canada and she applying with you might weaken your home ties.

Hi everyone and happy sunday, i have been following this thread for a while and i must commend your efforts on keeping us going. i am about to apply for a study permit and i need help. I applied to NAIT DMIT for fall 2019, my sister and her husband both Canadian citizens are my sponsors. In the sponsorship letter they have stated that they will be accommodating me for the period of two years and will be responsible for my tuition, upkeep and every other thing. My question is do i need to include my own SOA?
My home ties currently are my other two siblings and my widowed mum i have been taking care of since January 2019 my pops passed.
Hello, First and foremost sorry about your dad, may his soul rest in Peace.

If you claim to be the apparent breadwinner in your house then you need to show proof of personal asset and finance (Soa, properties, shares and bonds etc)

You also need to account for your families economic activities that way a VO understands your dependents and how it may/maynot affect you.

I will advice your sponsor pay your tuition and provide a detailed los with proof on why they are sponsoring you and all.

This is my initial verdict.
