Caddy123: I need everyone thoughts pls on this. My sponsor wants to transfer 40% of my tuition to my personal acct now, my resumption is on Monday 6th, and they (vo) just started my eligibility review and background check. Should I send mail notifying vo of additional amount I have for the program and also state the source? I have a couple advices for you: 1. Defer your admission before the first day of class in order to prevent you from loosing your deposit and admission. 2. Send a webform attaching the bank statement and reference letter from the bank. 3. When you get the new admission letter send another webform attaching the new admission letter. 4.send a case specific inquiry to the consulate responsible for your application. E.g Google cic-kenya and send a mail to the Kenya inquiry mail address. |

IbikunleBukky: if i understand you perfectly, is RSA retirement savings account? if the RSA belongs to you, thats not accessible. it can only be used for home ties. my opinion. Just to add to this. RSA is simply a retirement benefit. If anything a vo needs to understand why your sponsor will want to use his/her retirement savings to sponsor you for a program that could otherwise be done in Nigeria at a cheaper fee. Bearing the cost of canada education, it will be difficult for a sponsor that probably doesn't have an alterative source of income |

The rejection reason is generic and you need a gcms note to enlighten you on the comprehensive details of your trv application. People reapply without it but I wouldn't advice. You need to understand what went wrong work on those reasons and go for it again. You will always get the best councel here. Sorry about the refusal. |

AyoPrudence: Thanks for the assistance here thus far. Here is my case: I got an admission to study a diploma at Georgian College last year(2018) and after submitting my application for TRV, I was refused(GCMS note screenshot attached below).
Now, I recently got admitted to Cambrian College to study a one-year postgraduate certificate program. My question is: 1. What are my chances of acceptance? 2. Can I still make use of the Police Certificate obtained last year for this year's TRV application? 3. How best should I tackle the situations listed in my refusal letter? 4. When re-applying, do I sign-up as a new user by creating a new application or do I log-in with the same details I had last year?
I look forward to your responses. Thanks. 1. Police clearance is valid for only 3months 2. When you are reapplying you use the same user account and provide your uci number. You definitely have a chance if you have/find the right counsel. Reconstructing your financial portfolio and providing supporting documents to back up your claim is the way forward. You also need a compelling loe. Don't give up repackage and fire back. |

mur231: Hello gurus in the house! I'm new to this forum..A big thanks to all the people dedicating their time and knowledge to make this thread very informative. please, I want to lodge my TRV application this coming week, online route. My uncle is my sponsor and he is a Canadian citizen. He will only take care of my tuition and living expenses for 1yr. But he doesn't want to scan and send his account statement and proof of income documents to me rather he wants to send it directly to embassy. My question is; what's the fastest route to send this documents to the embassy without delaying my application as my resumption date is September?? In one sentence, if he can't send his financial portfolio then you don't have a sponsor. |

Cutieflaky: Good afternoon people, please I need someone to help me out. I applied for study visa on the 13th of February (paper route) did biometric that same day, I linked it online and I got a correspondence letter on the 5th of April but on the 10th of April I got a mail that my processed passport has been dispatched to Canada Visa Center, I went there to get it on the 24th of April, but when I open the envelope I saw my passport and a slip in it not the normal refusal letter I was expecting to see in it. I sent a message to the mail I saw in the slip, I got a response that they will reply my mail within 5 working days but if my application is still within the processing time a response won't be sent. Now it's more than 5 working days, also my profile details has not change, eligiblity is still under review, final decision is still in progress. Please what do you all think I should do? NB: I have checked both my inbox and spam folder there is nothing there. And I wish to reapply immediately School resume by September 4th. Attached below is the slip I got and the response I received front them Regardless of the apparent confusion. If your passport was returned without you been requested to do a medical or upfront medical plus the fact that the processed passport didn't contain any visa counterfoil. Then I am sorry it was denied. Cic sometimes fail to refresh or update applicants portals in real time. Please start preparing to get your gcms note to give you a breakdown. Sorry about this, I hope you get it right the next application. |

GENERAL GUIDELINES ON FILLING IMM FORMS
Applicants sometimes get worried about issue generated in the process of filling immforms and to avoid a rather costly mistake they hesitate and search for possible guidelines to troubleshoot their concerns. Right from validating forms, To filling the dli numbers accurately, funds available for stay in canada etc. The following is been provided to the best of my knowledge:
1. CIC requires the default use of Adobe reader (Latest version) in filling forms.
2. Avoid asking for copies of imm forms rather download it directly from cic website. This is because this forms are updated regularly and what an applicant used in January might be different from what another will use in May. For example, thw family immform excluded siblings information initially only to change it around March-April last year.
3. Dont be scammed by Agents the forms are free and can be downloaded anytime.
4. If you are submitting your application online then you don't need to sign. And if you are using the paper route print the forms with the barcodes and sign the forms.
5. The section for( funds available, room and board and tuition) is one of the most confusing part for Applicants. CIC states that you only need to show figures or proof of funds for the duration of the first year. If you are going for a 2year program you are only required to show proof of funds for the first year (however there is nothing wrong with showing prood beyond the first year). Therefore; Tuition*- this figure should be the total roundup of your entire tuition fees for the duration of your program. In case you don't have the figure then provide the first year only.
Room&Board*- This should show expense for the first year. The default amount in this category is 10kcad however some province requires more I.e Quebec.
Total funds available for stay in Canada*- first year in consideration. The sum total of tuition, living expenses, books and supply etc. Should be filled here. Most times the school gives you a comprehensive breakdown
Others*- any non tuition fees will be recorded in this category. For example Medical insurance.
6. When filling DLI (Designated learning Institution) number #***********. Always remember that the first character in that field starts with letter "O" not number "0"
7. Triple check forms before submitting. I have seen cases of people filling yes for military involvement simply because they served(Nysc) Or Yes for political involvements simply because a relative is actively involved.
I think this are the common errors. Feel free to add to the list. |

Deane: Hello guys,
I'm about finalising my TRV application. While filling imm1294e, are funds in RSA to be calculated as part of the funds available or do I just stop at uploading the RSA statement in the proof of funds? That is, is the RSA funds to be reckoned in calculating the funds available?
@makano @justmellow @qudkom @austacus and other gurus, i really need your advice here guys. Thanks. You only have to show funds to cater for the first year. So you dont have to state a sum total of your entire finance. |

I will advise you submit before the end of the month. The volume of applications increase between May and july. God bless and all the best. |

otunbanimi: Good morning People,
Please I need some advice!
1. I got admitted to University of Regina. Tho I applied for Masters in Human Resource Management because I have bsc in HRM but I was given Masters in Administration. Hope it follows course progression?
2. I intend using a sponsor that we share same surname with a balance of 30M in his account. Also I want a colleague to transfer 2M to my account for onward transfer to my mutual fund account. So it can read 2.5M.
A. Will I need to state reason for the bulk transfer to my account.
B. Do I need to print my Mutual fund account holdings or my bank account SOA or both?
3. Can I go ahead and use my conditional admission offer letter for my study permit application? They are still expecting my ND Transcripts from my sch tho they have received my BSC.
Please assist with your advice. Your intended program correlates with your bsc. However the "same surname" thing is deeper than that. You have to show or peoof the necessary relationship between you and the 3rd party. Also provide sufficient proof the person will sponsor you. If you haven't paid your tuition I will advise you do so through the sponsors account. You can print any viable financial support documents you have. Including the mutual fund account. You also need a strong sop to bind everything together. You cant use the conditional admission letter. You haven't met the conditions specified by the school. Meet the condition and get a final acceptance letter. That is the one you will use or better still attach the conditional letter with a tuition receipt since thr conditions aren't monetary. |

Dynatron: Good day,
I have now differed my admission to January 2020 to give time for packaging my application.
On job and educational progression, Please can you look at this objectively for me? I studied theatre arts and graduated in 2003. Served in 2004, finished in 2005 Feb . Started work in the bank in 2005 August as teller then customer service head and head branch operations. Stopped bank work Oct 2017. Started work as snr business process analyst January 2019. Got admission to study M.A Leadership business.
I tried to tie my interest in the course to my experience as a supervisor in the bank and current job and my desire to improve upon my leadership skills best practices in the business space. You have done a good job accounting for your study gaps. And the program you are going for shows good progression. However, you can never be too sure about the decisions of this VO. One might think you studied theatre arts and not showing progression while another might wonder why it took so long to apply for a post graduate program. But I believe a well detailed sop explaining 1. Why it took you this long to apply 2. Wht you branched to another discipline after theatre arts. 3. What you intend to do after your program. All the best. .... |

Home ties are the economical, social, family factors etc that can compel you to come back.
