elmisti: Thank you very much, will definitely look at the educational option.
at what point will the 14kCAD be needed and in what form?
and please can i mail or WhatsApp you?
Thank you. The funds will be needed to submit the visa application. You can make the funds available in a fixed deposit with a reference letter from your bank, you could just have it in your savings, transfer it to your wife's account etc. There isn't a specific way to show this. And yes you can drop a message. |

elmisti: Good day all, sorry i need experienced people in the house to advice me.
I am married( common law) with a Kid, my wife has a ND and currently do sales for an FMCG, i would love to have them abroad mainly because of the cost of "quality education" herr and have my other kids there. However, i personally don't plan on relocating with them as i have a career here in Nigeria. i could always go visiting them. my questions are:
1- what class of visa can we apply for?
2- Can my brothers in-law go instead( he is open to to relocating).
3- How soon can i start and how much will it cost?
Thank you all as you respond. Hello, She can apply through the study visa route. If you have the required funds then you can proceed. And about your brother inlaw please strike that out. This is a summarised list of what you nees to get the ball rolling: 1. Your wife needs an Admission letter from a DLI (Designated learning institute) im Canada 2. She might need to pay a semester tuition fee 3. She will need an additional 10kCAD And another 4kCAD For your child. 4. Your financial portfolio and other assets will be needed for her visa process This is just background information of what you need. Try and read more on this platform and if you need clarifications ask. Good luck |

DJVynoTynto: Please I got admitted into Humber college to biz admin PGD.. I opened a profile online on CIC and I uploaded my letter of acceptance and co,op already.. please the tuition fee reads 7500 for a semester, and I was told to pay for two semesters which reads CAD15k, and I still have 4more semesters to go after that, so my question is, can I pay for 1 semester and if I paid for the 2 semesters, like how much do I still need to declare as proof of funds after that.. and which for my personal self I have close to 3m, and my dad willing to stands as sponsor, can that 3m stand as ties to home country for me? No landed property for me.. I finished NYSC this year March, considering all this factors, what are my chances?thanks Theoretically you need to show proof you can meet the expenses over one calender year; 12months. 3mill statement of account from your dad seems a little off. I'll suggest paying the full tuition for a year and maybe show proof of your living expenses for a year. Your dads dependents matters when he provides his financial portfolio. There is definitely more to It but this should give you an idea of what to do. |

Naijaforeigner: It is sad that processing times for Nigerian applications take like forever but the conditions are different. Do you know that these Indians MUST pay the 10,000CAD for maintenance directly to CIC and then when they get to Canada, they open an account and CIC pay these students monthly (similar to what is done in Germany)? I think that is one of the reasons they have faster processing times. Also, most of these Indians have access to loans, CIC trust the institutions giving them these loans.
If Nigerians are asked to compulsorily pay 10,000CAD to CIC and probably make part payment to schools for fees, the number of applicants will reduce drastically. You are right, I guess this is a case of doing things in an effective manner and getting a speedy response and doing things our way and hoping to be favored. I'll use this medium to wish all applicants luck in their trv application. Ir might feel like forever but by the grace of God it will be fine. And on the contrary if you dont get a favourable response just yet learn from the last application and try again. |

Schonebaby: Imagine look at that. Sometimes I come online, look at all this and just go back to sleep. Imagine wanting to do a PhD in your country so that you can be close to your own people but not one single scholarship/ funding to sponsor your study. When a person pays his way through from baby class to Master's level and you still expect me to pay huge fees to do a Ph.D. (the job is not even guaranteed after studying o)when I can get it free and be paid elsewhere. There is a massive brain drain going on. Massive! The intellectual youths are leaving en-masse except for a few. So many issues....Lemme just stop here and go and sleep cos if someone thinks about this country ehn..... My brother, you aren't alone. It is disturbing. When I was serving I spoke to my employee back then about travelling to canada and do you know what he said. Schonebaby: Brother, That application is more than 30 days. This whole back and forth is not even my issue. The irritating part of all this to me is the way we are treated in Nigeria. The fact that we have one of the longest processing time of all countries. There is no dignity in the way we are being treated by the cic. The fact that people's passports can be held down for 8 months is appalling( I heard someone mention that his application took 8 months). And no one should say we have a huge applicant turnout. Indians migrate much more to Canada than we are doing at the moment yet their processing time is nothing to be compared with ours. It's just something that has to do with applying from Nigeria. This is not even a permanent immigration application. For God's sake is just a study permit! This is something we should be worried about as a country - the tarnished global image we have. But no- our leaders are busy taking unreasonable foreign trips up and down while our youths are neck deep in internet scams. I have applied for a schengen visa before and it took just 3 weeks. It should not be like this. It's very saddening . It's not something to even talk about..... I understand the appalling situation and I believe people like you and others on this forum will one day contribute to repair our tarnished image/reputation. I spoke extensively with a student from india and he mentioned what he submitted. Letter of acceptance, GIC certificate and study loan approval from the government and he got the canada study visa in 3weeks. There was no property document, letter of sponsor etc and he got it. Now look at what the average Nigerian submit to get a trv. It is ridiculous some get so tensed they submit fake documents just to make a case. When I did my medical a man in his late 60's said during his days people would rather stay in Nigeria than travel abroad and even when they do so they come back immediately after their studies. I believe we have potential in this country and we are going to get there soon! We youth just have to make sure we set a good example and foundation for the coming generation. |

AAO7: No need to ruffle your feathers. While you have valid points, what I'm saying in essence is find a polite way to pass your message across! It's not the first time and you're not the only individual that gives such responses.
While you're helping people out, which I'm sure is appreciated, we should remember to keep in touch with our human side; be more human. A little politeness never hurt anyone.
Like I earlier stated and I still maintain, it is not a personal attack and isn't for you alone. Have a good night! In reference to the bolded, I need to be more human!!! WOW I'll just leave this here. |

AAO7: While some people have had to wait longer for their medical request, some haven't had to. If you don't have any answer, would be nicer to move along. Using your application as an example, you got your medical request in about a month; would you have said this if it was you? It's totally okay for people to worry (if they haven't gotten feedback) without them feeling like it's some competition with statements like this and others! You lot need to understand that many times, people come here to talk about their application to seek support, not to hear they are baby applicants, after all some applications don't spend up to 6 weeks and they are approved!
PS: This not a personal attack, just quoting this as an example. Welldone for all the good work. How is this not a personal attack. "If you don't have any answer, would be nicer to move along". Sometimes people just find it hard to hear the truth. Can you send a webform complaining that you haven't gotten a reply in just about 30days? You always see the estimated processing time popping up on the cic website. If you get a response under 30days then that's your luck and if you dont you keep praying and hoping you get a response. I submitted an application January 3rd I didn't get any response after my medical in February. But since it hasn't elapsed the processing time I kept hoping. There's just so much arrogance about your statement. But then nothing you do can fully please people. You tell them the truth and the make reference to something. All I said was for the applicant to be patient(less than 30days application) and you come about saying this. To every individual offering something to this forum what you said is insulting and a slap to their face |

If you need a list of schools to apply try using GOOGLE to research for schools. That's the least you can do for yourself. gatsbym4: It’s a 1 and half year course I’ll be going for, and school fees is 9100 can dollars, about 2.5m with the 10000 living expenses that’s like 2.7m... about 10m is in the RSA account, and he is still currently working, with salary of like 500k..if I wanna get a co-sponsor how much should he have in his account.... Thank you.. Hi, there isn't a specific amount that needs to be in your father, or co-sponsors account because the wat VOs analyse your financial buoyancy differs. For example your sponsors DEPENDENCY level matters. Perhaps your dad owns a decent retirement savings and also a high salary in this current economy but what if he had 2,3-5 kids under him. Do you think a VO will buy the idea of him sponsoring you?. Getting a co-sponsor is a good move perhaps a relative or seeking study loans at the extreme. Your Financial portfolio should look like this: 1 fathers retirement savings- 10mill. 2. Current account balance with good inflow and balance 3. 1st semester tuition fees or one year tuition if you have the means*** 4. Co-sponsor savings account- ,10mill upwards and you could pay your tuition through your co-sponsors account and have him/her specify this in a separate letter of sponsor and a receipt to prove that. If your co-* also has an history of sponsoring you then provide evidence 5. Sponsors family tree. A VO needs to understand his dependency levels. 6. Property documents and investments of your father 7. Fathers employment letter. I must restate that finace is just one of the many things to cover. Good luck in your trv application. |

So I just got my passport, my application was rejected based on they are not sure I will return to my country based on purpose of visit and also home ties...
Want to reapply...what do I need to work on please
My documents So I was admitted to study business administration undergraduate I had my waec result 2013 And have been working with my mum ever since then because she own a business, which I explained in my sop,so I submitted the company's CAC,a statement of account of 13m,my mum's account, she is my sponsor,my dad is late,I submitted few property documents too,I have just a brother and he works in a bank, though I didn't submit any document concerning him,so I wrote that ibwill be coming back to the country to take over my mum's business and to develop my country with my knowledge etc...and other documents too, police report, etc...no upfront medical
Please help.. You didn't get rejected on financial basis which is fair enough. You need to state the program you applied for and when you graduated? Also I really don't understand the "develop my country part" you have to ensure your sop isn't speculative rather touches key points. Like I said earlier provide the information about your program and all. |

abbycole930: Good morning people ,I got an admission from Niagara college in environmental managementand assessment for a graduate certificate ,I had a 2:2 for my university degree and I was adviced to apply for a graduate certificate first to be eligible for a masters in environmental science ,please am I on the right path Please I have been reading on this for quite some time now but I saw a post where someone was going for graduate certificate and he was told to revise his study plan Don't let me die of ignorance ... Hi, a graduate certificate is a good progression after a Bsc. Degree. Matter of fact a masters degree and a graduate certificate are similar in various ways the only differences are: 1. Msc in broad and covers more areas 2. Msc is expensive 3. Msc requires a higher gp to enroll 4. Msc tske more time to complete 5. Msc requires a project in other to graduate and not all graduate certificate require that. Non the less a graduate certificate offers a specialised path and goes straight to the point in your chosen discipline and less expensive. You can't be flagged for not showing progression in your studies by going for a graduate certificate. I hope this helps. Best of luck. Side questions: When did you graduate? Current job? |

Thanks for your reply To answer your questions. 1. They can only use a company account to write a letter of employment or introduction letter if you work in the company. 2. The letter of sponsor can be easily drafted and signed by the 2 parties involved in sponsoring you. 3. If you aren't part of the directors then you don't need the memorandum. Company statement of account, tax certificate if they have and CAC certificate will do. |

Josade69: Hello bosses, I secured a loan from prodigy finance for my masters program. However the loan could only cover my tuition and part of my living expenses. I am scared of applying for a visa with just part of living cost (5000CAD) left to be accounted for.
Secondly, is it worth taking a loan from them for 10 years? The loan is worth almost 80% of the actual loaned amount over 10 years. Thanks for your usual and swift responses. Hello, securing loans for study purposes isn't a bad idea. However, you need to take calculated risks and do a proper forcast on your profession and the chances of you being able to pay up the loan. You should also known that financial aspect isn't the only thing you cover when securing a study visa. I wish you all the best in whatever choice you make. Some students scale through student loans while some spend years refinancing and trying to pay up with their stipends. |

Ayomiposi2020: Hello Everyone, Please a really quick one. My parents are serving as my sponsors but they do not have funds in their personal account, they only have funds in their business account. Will this be a problem? Is it true that the embassy regards fund from only personal account. Please what should I do? Hello, funds from COMPANY ACCOUNT are sometimes risky to use if your sponsors aren't going to use a savings account. The company account is a good way to show your parents have a RELIABLE source of income and can sponsor your education in canada. But they still need to show proof of a savings account and any other investment they might have. That way you can be sure of scaling the financial requirements. Try and do this: 1. Get a copy of their company accounts statement 2. CAC certificate and memorandum if you happen to be part of the directors* 3. Pay up your tuition for a semester if the institution allows (please familiarise yourself with refund policies of the school) 4. Have your parents tun their savings account to a reasonable tune. 5. Have them write and sign a letter of sponsor. I hope this helps on the FINANCIAL issue. |
