juddytee: Please what document can I request from my employer (company) to include in my application.
Thank you 1. Letter of employment 2. Letter of Introduction* 3. Pay slips 4. Leave letter Ps: You need a strong reason to prove to the vo that you'll be coming back after your studies bearing the cost spent to aquire an education in Canada. |

slushy: Boss. Please see the documents I want to submit. I am going for my bachelors degree and doing an online application. 1. The 3 forms downloaded from the CIC site 2. The letter of acceptance 3. My international passport 4. For proof of financial support: my sister is my sponsor. I’m including her bank statement, certificates for other liquid investments that she has. A sponsorship letter from her. An introduction letter for her from her employer. A deed for her landed property in Lagos. A deed for a land in my name in Lagos. 5. Digital photo 6. My CV 7. Statement of purpose plus a letter from a place where I interned related to what I want to study in school 8. Police report.
Please let me know if this is sufficient. Well it looks good on paper, however sufficient proof hasn't been established concerning your sisters financial support of a otherwise expensive program in Canada. Did she pay your tuition? Proof she supported you in the past? I will suggest getting a co sponsor. The vo might be concerned about her absorbing all the cost especially with the fact she's got her own dependents If she can transfer living expenses et all then that might be helpful. Also you haven't shown sufficient proof that you will return. I dont see any proof of employment or running a business. That's a huge REDFLAG!!!. Please dont tell me your internship letter covers that. |

To every prospective applicant try listing out what you intend to submit so you can get help and advise before submitting. That way you get a final verification before submitting your documents. It's not possible to get a 100% verification about the success of your application but at least little mistakes and loopholes can be rectified. |

Dealing with Personal Asset and Financial status refusals(Business owners edition)
There's been an heavy increase in the amount of refusals mostly coming from applicants inability to prove they are financially stable in their home countries. This is more than being naive and scanning your cic certificate to somewhat proof you have a functioning company. Guess what the irony about that is anyone can register a company but proving a viable company is another story entirely. I will list a couple documents to strengthen not your home ties but to solidify the outlook of your finances to a trained Visa officer (VO).
1. TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE: When last did you pay company tax. You write about how passionate you are about your country in your sop but can't provide a tax certificate. This single most important document proves to a vo you have a company that is well ingrained in Nigeria.
2. TIN registration: It is important to get a tax identification number and scan the letter confirming your TIN number in your application. 3. Car ownership certificate: yes scan the certificate showing you ownership of your vehicle. Most especially if you have a nice ride. This shows a VO that you are doing ok in Nigeria.
4. Work assets & Machineries: Perhaps you purchased an asset from china a few years back for your company and still have the receipt you can scan snd present it in a coherent way. You don't want to confuse a vo because the next thing is some generic refusal hence order gcms note.
5. Proof of past/future contracts: Have you executed some contracts in the past (1-5yrs) you can include this. If you also have some contracts coming up you can include proof.
6. Reference letters: You can have certified and verified companies you've worked with in the past write you reference letters to show your prudence.
7. Regulatory bodies Certificates : Every industry in Nigeria is regulated by a designated party. It is important to be certified by these bodies. Presenting proof of this certification will strengthen your application. For example, I submitted my father's Petroleum storage licences from NNPC.
There are over 25 categories of documents that can be used. However it is one thing to have documents another thing to present it in a wat that it reflects your portfolio and application stance. I have seen applicants with over 20million portfolio ruin their applications simply because they were misguided.
P.s: Canada and every other consulate have an in depth idea of the employment situation, crime rate, political instability etc happening in our beloved country. So it is very important to strengthen your application to full effect. |

I tried tracking it but it has just been saying " Visa application, tracking ID No.20190509CALAPPT0XXXX is being processed at the Canada Visa Office . To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website" When it is ready you will get a mail from cic and a correspondence mail. That is the mail you will present at the poe. Also when you check the tracking number it will show something like "passport sent to vfs center from visa office" All the best! !! |

The United States of America, just banned the use of drop box for visa renewal. Now you have to apply and wait. I just keep shaking my head to how far we've fallen. Every single year it gets harder and the requirements gets tougher. Nigeria is part of the top 10 countries that overstay their visa's in Usa/Canada.
To think there will be a general election in Canada this year gets me worried. I mean what if the immigration rules change! |

Christycode: I'm not going for prenursing I'm going for Nursing. You probably didn't get me, last year I was offered prenursing because I applied late for admission,so seats were full. But this year,I applied on time and was offered nursing quote author=Qudkom post=78380364] Hello, firstly nobody can give you a 100% assurance of what you need to submit. However I can tell you this;
1. If your approach didn't work the first time, then you shouldn't use it the 2nd.
2. You are going for an extremely expensive program in canada, assuming your mums dependents and all. It will be difficult convincing a VO of the long term support.
3. I don't know if you ordered a gcms note for the previous refusal. But I believe the "purpose of visit" needs to be tackled in a detailed loe together with why you are going for a prenursing program rather than a straight out enrollment into a bsc nursing program.
4. Your sponsors finance is a little weak. Considering a 4-5 year bsc program. Oh sorry thought you meant prenursing. But either ways I think the soa is still a little low. Considering there is still 10kcad living expenses to account for. I hope you can amend that and don't forget the loe I mentioned. |

Christycode: I got admission to study nursing in Canada(fall 2019), I finished secondary school 2017,(science student), I spent 2018 applying for Canadian visa and it was refused based on financial reasons and purpose of travel... The visa officer said I didn't convince him/her that I'll return to my county after studies, however the admission letter I used last year was that of prenursing(the school said I met the requirements for nursing but there was no space so they gave me prenursing),which is one year duration. So i applied for nursing again this year(on time)Again I used a third party sponsor for that of last year. So my complete timeline for this year is: Acceptance letter(nursing) I want to pay full fees, don't know if it's advisable Mum's my sponsor (her letter of sponsorship) Dad is late Her land and house docs Birth certificate to show our relationship Waec result (5as&4bs) School testimonial SOA of N5M(my school fees is approx $12350) International passport & CIC docs I'm 18 years Please is this timeline okay, i dont want to make same mistake again, what should be added and what should be left out, school resumes September. Thanks. Hello, firstly nobody can give you a 100% assurance of what you need to submit. However I can tell you this; 1. Pel1960: Hello gurus in the house
I applied for a study permit this year while I was in Canada but it was denied. I defferd my admission and reapply when I returned to Nigeria and it was approved some days ago. Consequently, I have sent my passport to cic for stamping However due to some reasons, I won't be able to resume in summer and the University policy stated that student can only defer admission once
I was told to apply for new admission.
My question is that if I get new admission, will it affect my Visa already approved Visa Go ahead and apply to the same dli. It wont affect your visa. All you have to do is apply for a study permit extension about 3 months before the visa expires. |

yemicoal: Good evening guys, quick one. I have a B.Sc in mechanical engineering but intend going for another degree in business administration in brandon university. Is it advisable i include i attended a university already on the application form. Thanks Firstly, there is little correlation between the two programs. This is my advice; 1. If you exclude the previous bsc certificate. The Vo will need to understand why you are going for a bsc. considering your current age and why it took so long. 2. I will suggest going for a post graduate program. 3. If you still feel a BSc program is what you need then you need a serious SOP to that effect. |

And I am presently routing off my last paper in college (Community college) Spring semester. Yeah sure, you can do that. You can alao pay for a return courier service to whichever address you want. To use a 3rd party courier service you need: 1. A concent letter 2. Courier payment(VFS to embassy) if you aren't sending your passport to the vfs centre you did your biometrics. 3. Return courier package to get your passport back. All the best, and congratulations again. |

Congratulations. There is a difference between visitors visa and student visa. So you need the counterfoil for the later. Also to avoid confusion at the Point of entry. The student counterfoil will distinguish your reason for travelling. Once again congratulations 8months is a long time!!!! Your patience is remarkable. |

I Studied Human Resource Management in my undergraduate University of Cape Coast Ghana.
Im to make full first semester payment of CAD 7962k to start with my study permit.
Haven read well on this trend about SOP and SOA.
Please I want to know how simple can my letter of purpose be... And as to SOA, what's the general standard for best consideration.... I'm using my uncle as my sponsor.
And as read, is it advisable to let them know you have a brother who a citizen in Canada.
Please guru in the hosuse help a novice ejor, Biko 1. Having studied human resource management you have good progression in your studies. 2. Post graduate certificate is also good progression 3. Having a brother in Canada shows reasonable ties to Canada. 4. Your SOP needs to contain key facts and answers a VO needs to examine. 5. Using a 3rd party sponsor isn't a bad idea however the relationship needs to be well established. P.s: Any experience working as a Human resource manager? |

It's worrying that 5 applicants I know got rejected based on the same reasons. Even the ones with funds and travel history.
●travel history ●Personal funds and asset ● Purpose of Visit
Something isn't right about this. To think they all got their biometric validity correspondence the same day is also confusing.
Or can someone explain how a mature applicant that recently travelled to usa with his family got refused for the reasons I stated above travel history included
Or how another that traveled to Canada earlier this year on vacation got refused on travel history! !!! And the other two reasons I stated. This is a Man with a fledging career travels for fun and they even ticked personal asset and finance. |

Senatorkolade: Hello Qudkom I noticed that some people get biometric validity letter after their medical request while some get it immediately alongside the commencement of the eligibility review. Any clarification on this. My gurus in the house. I understand people get confused about the biometric correspondence mail (BCM) and link it with ppr. Ideally the bcm should be gotten immediately after your biometrics but due to the delay in processing applications it comes at a later date. It can come at any time and it is just a default mail you receive after biometrics. |
