Romance / Re: Reconciliation: Winning Back Your Lost Partner In A Broken Marriage, How Easy? by QueenAw(f): 4:34pm On Oct 19, 2012
Relationships consists of a whole lot. Trust, love, respect, etc. Like a string, once broken it can never be the same again. You could patch it back up, tie it back etc. But the string is no longer the same, it will become bent, shorter etc. You could try, but things can never be the same.
People can forgive, but very few forget. How can one live in love, trust, peace and happiness with someone who has hurt you so bad? Who has hurt you in a way probably no one else ever has? Therein lies your answer.
Perhaps it will be better if they both go their seperate ways for many years, probably see other people. If fate brings them back together again, the relationship is likely to fare better. After all, what better medicine is there to mend a broken heart than time?

Seen and noted. When you argue with a madman, a bystander may find it difficult if not impossible determining who exactly is the psycho. Have a good day.

By the way, it is spelt 'frustrated' not 'faustrated' except you have a tounge problem which is affecting your writing (the brain directs what you write). Then i can understand the fact that you lisp when you talk.

'tongue'

@Hardbody, leave the fool called packman. You corrected his spelling error and rather than show gratitude, he throws insults.
What an educated illiterate!!
How can he spell when he is full of arrogance? We blame the educational sector but truth is, some can never learn. When they talk or write, you wonder how they can claim to be students/graduates. Hm, graduates of gbagaunology!

Still you have to admit that your religion is doing absolutely NOTHING to stop these people killing in their name. Silence they say means consent!

Shoo, see me see trouble o! Do you think Muslims too are not scared of this terrorists? Some of our scholars have spoken out against them dear. Our men in the military along with others are fighting the terrorists. We are here too condemning their acts. If the government with all it's resources & America are having difficulties eradicating them completely, do you honestly think it is unarmed Muslims that can? Have you not heard they kill Muslims that oppose them as well? If Muslims rise & start fighting them & some innocent lives are lost in crossfire wouldn't that ignite a religious war? Biko, let's leave the authorities to fight. We can only condemn and that's what we do when some Christians give us the chance to without insulting our religion.

Kslib:
Yes i understand you..from what i've noticed, the whole problem is just from two angles.. It is either from the religion itself or from the interpretation of the religion.. I dont know much about the quaran,so i cant choose..
Lastly, your imams also contributed to everything cos majority of them don't lead by example.. And these are the same people muslims who want to know more about their religion look up to for direction... Just the same way Nigeria's corruption starts from our leaders and crawls down to some of it's citizens,is the way islam's teachings can be traced to it's imams... If we want to reduce the level of corruption in the whole country,we all know where to start from.. If muslims want to change the way the world views the religion,it should also know where to start from..
@basic,i have another question to ask " Can muslims convince us with backings from the quaran that islam does not support violence? if they can, then i think nobody should say that islam supports violence, but rather understand that " terrorists are just using it as an excuse to commit violence...

O ye who believe! persevere in patience and constancy; vie in such perseverance; strengthen each other; and fear Allah; that ye may prosper.  (Al’Imran 3:200)

Twice will they be given their reward, for that they have persevered, that they avert Evil with Good, and that they spend (in charity) out of what We have given them.  (al-Qasas 28:54).  Say: “O ye My servants who believe!  Fear your Lord. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world. Spacious is Allah’s earth! Those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without measure!” (az-Zumar 39:10)

Quran 2:190 Fight in the cause of God those who start fighting you, but do not transgress limits (or start the attack); for God loveth not transgressors.

Religion / Re: An Open Letter To Nigerian Christians by QueenAw(f): 12:33pm On Oct 08, 2012
afam4eva: I've lived with muslims most of my life and there hasn't been anything i've had a course to suspect them as they've always been no different from the Christian and everyone that i've lived. It's sad that a small group of people who unfortunately are muslims have soiled the name of the religion all over the world in the name of fighting for their religion. But many muslim clerics have come out to quote that no where in the Qoran did it state that muslims should go out and kill innocent people. Those people who kill in the name of Allah are just criminals and nothing more. Anybody who takes what they say as word should also be ready to believe the devil. Why can't we as human beings be rational for once in our lives and stop putting everybody in one basket. We can't paint Islam bad simply because of the sins of a few. Let's be reasonable and not judge people by the color of their skin, their creed, religion, ethnicity but by the strength of their character.

Thank you for that intelligent write up. It makes me glad to know that there are rational thinking people in our society. I am a Muslim & I have equally lived with both Muslims & Christians in peace. The Muslim terrorists are the infidels. The Muslim terrorist & their beliefs have no place in Islam. What they set out to achieve is what is starting to happen. To create a religious global war. Their acts of terrorism has spread globally. It is like a global cult. We all need to unite to fight them. That or they will divide us & rule. That or they will initiate our children into this cult. The Christians insulting Islam are letting the terrorists win. I am ashamed of what the terrorists do in the name of Islam. This isn't about religion, tribe, race, ethnicity, gender or what have you. This is about us all coming together to beat terrorism. Both Muslims & Christians alike. But this will not be if some Christians continue to infuriate the well meaning Muslims by insulting them. How will that help our common goal?

Just watched the videos. Those dudes didn't get a fair hearing. They got no hearing at all! This is cold blooded murder!
It could have happened to pretty much any young man I know who is full of life. For all I care, they could have been coming from a party/club or something. Jeez! Brutality!

I believe in self defense. If anyone breaks into my home, armed or unarmed, I will shoot them. Period! I won't wait to see if they have a weapon or not. It becomes survival of the fittest.
But if alleged robbers are waiting on the road side, in an abandoned house or wherever, they should be given a fair hearing.

Sad much.

both parties are actually victims of circumstances, if only the clock could be rewound i'm sure many criminals will abandon their evil and also the executioners would avoid taking laws into their hands.

Reading the post from start to finish, I can only conclude that they werent proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be guilty. They did not deserve to die the way they did.
To those saying this willl serve as a deterrent to other robbers, I think not. I went through the gruesome pictures of their last hours on earth telling myself "if only these boys (yes boys, not men) had guns or if only the police had fired shots in the air when they came for the alleged robbers, perhaps these kids would still be alive today to face the law & let the law prove them innocent or guilty. An aspiring robber reading this post will only tell himself he needs to be well strapped -armed every time he's going out to steal?!

Such barbaric acts serve no purpose! Let the law be more severe in dealing with the bad eggs in the society. It is not for the civilians to handle. Yes I have been robbed. Yes armed men have visited our house a few times. With guns et al. I know the traumatized state it leaves the victims in. I still live with some paranoia. But that has not turned me into an animal. I'd rather 10 robbers go free than take the life of one innocent man.
If the villagers can take justice into their hands like this, the society should fear them! They should line them up & shoot each & everyone of them. Yes, I said it. What they did is first degree murder. That is their crime.
Someone mentioned sharia law. The ruling regarding stealing under sharia law is to cut off the thief's hand. Maim them and they are unlikely to steal again. Why kill them?
Frankly, I think more innocent Nigerians have been killed in the name of jungle justice (legal or otherwise) in Nigeria than guilty men. Maybe that's why the crime rate is not dropping, but rather, it keeps increasing!

They may be guilty, but it will always include a "may be"...

TV/Movies / Re: Past Soap Operas/telenovas You'll Love To Watch Over And Over Again by QueenAw(f): 6:48pm On Oct 05, 2012
Sweet memories...

Why can't NTA copy some of the old tv programs & soaps into DVDs to sell? I'm sure they'll make a lot of money which can be used to provide better broadcasting services? Especially the local programs? I know some of our senior citizens will have a nice time watching them again. I know my mum wouldn't mind! smiley
Today, even stv & co are better stations than NTA. Why is it that anything the government owns hardly improves? Rather, they tend to deteriorate overtime?

Why can't CCTV cameras be installed at strategic places in the north? Why can't they have helicopters flying at night hovering over high security risk areas? Why can't they just freaking do something asides the bollocks we are constantly fed with? I'm no expert in national security. This is just a layman's view. Surely they can afford the costs. The governmen,t starting with Jonathan & members of his cabinet should use the recurrent expenditures that serves no purpose (other than getting them & their bank accounts fatter) to finance security in the north..
This thing they are taking for granted is a very serious matter. If care is not taken, it will spread to other parts of Nigeria and then we are all finished!! I think it's time we seek international help. Maybe it's time the military comes back to power. Afterall, the military were stealing funds & frankly, likewise PDP. Something has got to give!
Poor students. Poor us!! (Christians, Muslims, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, alike)

Be careful rubbing creams et al on your breasts! Most of these creams & pills claim to do what they cannot. Besides, there isn't any scientific backing to such claims.
Try exercising. There are Internet sites that advise on exercises to do to firm up your breasts. Google it. It's pretty much the safest option around. Another option is breast surgery..

I only got on nairaland a week or two ago. I clicked on this post & from reading a comment about whether you are the same person from an ivf post, I clicked on your name, found the post & i just spent the last one hour reading through it. I cried.
What can I say to you? How do the words of a faceless stranger comfort you? Dear, you have been through a lot. Yes you have. I have been married for over 3 years. No kids yet. Suffered a miscarriage early this year, due to stress. I'm in my mid-late 30's. My husband was very ill, hospitalized for several months & the psychological trauma, bills, in law issues, my family asking me to leave the marriage and all, left me devastated. In the end, I lost a 4 month pregnancy. Here I am today, hoping to have a baby ASAP, but nothing yet. We are both trusting on God.
You have your health, you have family, and you have many praying for you. All will be well dear. Count your blessings. I have learnt to count mine. Hard as it may seem, do not dwell on your trials. For that is what they are. Count your blessings. All will be well. Xoxo
