@nezan- you are an old fool, when we say something is corrupt it doesn't mean it lack an oita of truth. The bible contain a few truth e.g don't steal, kill, cheat etc but majority of the bible words are lies which were fabricated
When you say most of what the Bible say is fabricated, that means you have access to the real version, or how exactly do you know that it is corrupt. Then those facts you proudly posted for us to see where just a bunch of wishy-washy thoughts of an unskilled scholar, you have refused to comment on the questions and pointers i posed.

I know you said it is interesting, but do you see the truth in them. Those verses, never in anyway, form or imagination referred to muhammed.

The Man you have here is one of the worst species of Politicians to ever walk the soil of this country, he is a riffraff and his appearance shows it, you can check out the pictures of other governors, am sure you won't see a thing like this. You hardly see men here toning their skin, many of them hardly use a cream. So please amongst men this is an aberration

Am not sure u read my post at all, i have explained using the verses and other related verses, that muhammed was not the prophet moses was talking about, nor was he the helper, Jesus promised, so why do you think your above comment was meant for me, when you said Muhammed could not be the helper because the helper would be with us Forever, that is another good and valid point to prove that Jesus was not referring to Muhammed. So we are not at variance here, you can read my earlier posts please.

newakata, i guess you had a romantic view of africa, like many afrocentric AAs do.

the reality:  the reason why blacks around the world have internalized self hatred is becuz africans do. africa is the source.

so yes, that's why u saw what u saw. it's more concentrated/evident in africa.

you look at the low esteem of blacks around the world. where does it come from? it all goes back to africa. and none of it will change until africa changes economically/socially/politically/etc. it's all connected to self esteem and pride. africans beg for aid. most african countries' income is 40% foreign aid. who can respect such countrieshuh how can you be proud of YOURSELF when u can't provide for YOURSELF and your people?

self esteem and pride and self-reliance. it's all connected.
I just wanted to ask a question, have you ever been raped?,

Am not asking because i wish that to happen, but i hear, when people are raped and brutalized, they come to have a low esteem of themselves, in order to survive people who are kidnapped, and molested bcom attached to their tormentors, they come to have attachment to them (stockholm syndrome)

That is what happened to Africa, a long time ago, there was so much pride here, africa was never the source of self-hatred but Africa was raped and brutalized by the western powers, many of these countries gained independence not too long ago, even though, they were given territorial independence, but economic powers still lies in the West, it would take a while before Africa gets its footing, and the stooges/politicians the super powers left behind are still milking the economy of most of these Nations.

My sister, i have been saying this for a while now but the females keep attacking me.I think the problem with us is ignorance. We never had a black power movement in Africa so our people have not yet been awakened. I believe that every Nigerian should watch a movie like "Malcolm X" so as to be enlightened.

A prime example of our people's ignorance is this https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-343716.0.html

I believe that every black woman should watch this movie, its very enlightening

My sister, you are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo on point its not even funny, its like you are reading my mind. I agree with everything you said ESPECIALLY the highlighted part. That unless Africa becomes a developed continent, only then would Africans be desperately to learn there native language, only then would they stop bleaching or speaking with fake american accents, only then would they see themselves as beautiful. When Africa becomes developed and our fashion industry and fashion magazine can be competing with the western ones then, maybe (and i mean MAYBE) would this trends change.
Am not against what you have commented on, we all want an industrialized Africa, but what we all see as industrialized and civilized society is modelled on the Western Concept, so if we want our cities to look like that, and not like the serene villages we left behind, how are we not going to wear their chlothes, wigs and makeups.

@Poster, The first time I visited Nigeria I was surprised to see the women with weaves and tons of makeup too. These girls are naturally beautiful yet they choose to wear there hair and makeup like Americans and Europeans. I was disappointed. They wear more weaves and wigs than African American women. These Naija girls are fashion foward when it comes to clothes and style but they seem artificial in other ways.
Sometimes some of the reasons these girls do it is not to look like white people, the easiest way to manage African hair is to cut it low, but many girls don't want to cut their hair, many of them wear the wigs because it can hide their undone hair, and they wont need to visit the salon soon unlike if they do the corn-row style, which will start looking rough in a week or two.

Have you guys also thought about the power of advertisements, what people portray to u as good eventually becomes the standard, all over the world fairer is believe to be better, in india they advertise more light skin creams more than anywhere else,

Even before blacks came to europe, the fairer skin girls are of the nobility, the stories of rapunzel and cinderella is all about, who is the fairest in all the land.

I think being darker is associated with having worked more in the sun and therefore from a poor background, whether in Africa, India, Europe, Poor people work longer in the sun, and they would tend to be darker, so the concept might have originated from there, even the girl in the Song of Solomon, (Song of Solomon 1:5-6) 5 “A black girl I am, but comely, O YOU daughters of Jerusalem, like the tents of Ke′dar, [yet] like the tent cloths of Sol′o·mon. 6 Do not YOU look at me because I am swarthy, because the sun has caught sight of me. . . .

Historically even before the coming of white men, folk songs are created in praise of fair-skin girls, so it might have to do social status

I actually saw ur comment on the messengership of mohammed from the Bible and i decided to check up some of your posts when i heard you were once a 'Christian', a lot of people are frustrated with christianity because of the lies, hypocrisy, fraud etc, but it does not mean there is no true christianity, Jesus fortold all these b4, so we are not surprise, but back to ur comment here.

Why do you think mazaje should not comment, when ur comments shows that you support yoruba muslims joining Alqaeda and killling innocent people, don't you think he has a right to comment, when there is a likelyhood that he can be blown off the skies one day by an alqaeda agent, am not talking about what he said but about his right to say it.

Then is this the kind of indoctrination you now support, after you have been taught to 'turn the other cheek' and to 'love ur enemies as yourself' as taught by a lofty messenger of God, Jesus.

Now this is the hilarious part of the fact 4
Song of Solomon 5:10-16

“My dear one is dazzling and ruddy, the most conspicuous of ten thousand. 11 His head is gold, refined gold. The locks of his hair are date clusters. His black [hair] is like the raven. 12 His eyes are like doves by the channels of water, which are bathing themselves in milk, sitting within the rims. 13 His cheeks are like a garden bed of spice, towers of scented herbs. His lips are lilies, dripping with liquid myrrh. 14 His hands are cylinders of gold, filled with chrys′o·lite. His abdomen is an ivory plate covered with sapphires. 15 His legs are pillars of marble based on socket pedestals of refined gold. His appearance is like Leb′a·non, choice like the cedars. 16 His palate is sheer sweetness, and everything about him is altogether desirable. This is my dear one, and this is my boy companion, O daughters of Jerusalem.”

If this verse is referring to mohammed, then we have a very good description of him, 'his lips are lilies and, dripping with liquid myrrh, his palate/mouth is sweetness.

This is an example of stretching the imagination to the very limits of the realms incredulity, the song of Solomon is about a girl who solomon was wooing, but who is firmly in love with a young shepherd boy, the one she constantly refers to as her loved one, her companion, her descriptions refers to this boy she is in love with and who she would not leave for solomon with all his wealth and glory,

Now in what way is this connected to Mohammed, is the girl also in love with Mohammed that would come thousands of years later,

This is what the girl said also about her lovely one

On my bed during the nights I have sought the one whom my soul has loved. I sought him, but I did not find him. 2 Let me rise up, please, and go round about in the city; in the streets and in the public squares let me seek the one whom my soul has loved. I sought him, but I did not find him. 3 The watchmen who were going around in the city found me, ‘The one whom my soul has loved have YOU men seen?’ 4 Hardly had I passed on from them until I found the one whom my soul has loved. I grabbed hold of him, and I would not let go of him, until I had brought him into my mother’s house and into the interior room of her that had been pregnant with me. 5 I have put YOU under oath, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the female gazelles or by the hinds of the field, that YOU try not to awaken or arouse love [in me] until it feels inclined.”

can this lovely one be mohammed, ?, how on earth did this girl and Mohammed came to be in love, am sure the very thot of it should be repugnant to muslims, please i need enlightenment on this,

Or does it mean anywhere the bible mentions 'lovely one, praised one, altogether lovely, which happens to be the meaning of Mohammed's name, then the bible must be referring to Mohammed, should we not consider the context of the scriptures or consider what led to the expression, there are hundreds of languages which have names which means lovely one, can we all then lay claim to being this lovely one,

The meaning of my name is 'my prayers has been answered', am sure i would find it in the Bible and maybe also in the quran, can i say then that i am being referred to, plzzzzzz, this is is ridiculous.

It reminds me of a muslim scholar in the University who showed me the place in the Bible where Jesus christ said whoever has never sinned b4 should stone the harlot, and he started writing some things on the ground, the bible never said what he wrote, but this chap told me he was writing 'Keu' i.e islamic verses/writings, men, i was shocked, how in God's name did he know that was what he was writing?

I feel like not even bothering with fact 5, but i will.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Bible Confirms The Messengership Of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by rabzy: 4:11pm On Feb 09, 2010
Pls if you guys don't mind i would like to continue with the 'facts', i have been having issues with the internet, yeah, where was i

Fact III: And who is that prophet mentioned in Deut. That is like unto Moses? Jesus said about that prophet: “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is to your advantage that I go away. For I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you, but if I depart he will be sent to you, he will guide you unto all truth for he shall not speak of himself but whatever he shall hear that he shall speak” (John 16: 7&13).

Fact IV: The coming of prophet as God’s messenger foretold in the books of John 16:12-14, Habakkuk 3:3, Song of Solomon 5:10-13, Deuteronomy 33:1-2, Matthew 23:39, John 14:30 and e.t.c. His eminence, the late Deedat had once wrote and proclaimed that: “Muhummed is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon 5:16. The Hebrew word used there is Muhammuddim. The end letters IM is plural of respect majesty and grandeur. Minus "im" the name would be Muhamud translated as "altogether lovely" in the Authorized Version of the Bible or 'The Praised One' 'the one worthy of Praise' i.e. MUHUMMED! (P.B.U.H)

Well fact 3 has told us nothing, there was nothing there that shows that the helper is mohammed, in fact several Bible verses shows that the helper is the spirit of truth, but of course to our muslim scholars here, those parts are 'corrupted', am sure they have the real, true version somewhere hidden in the middle east, lol. But fact three is zilch, there was nothing offered and nothing would be proffered in response.

Fact 4 is actually also very funny,

John 16:12-14, there is absolutely no basis to think that the promised helper is mohammed. We should not forget that Jesus was saying all these things on the last Night he was departing, his disciples were in despair, they were afraid and unsure of themselves, because their hope, their spiritual leader was about to arrested and killed, so Jesus was giving them reassuring words, words of hope, and as a source of comfort, he promised them a helper, the spirit of truth, Mohammed was no spirit, and equally important is that, mohammed came hundreds of years after these frightened men, the men Jesus was promising comfort to had died, So how was he a comforter to these men, then what Jesus taught as revealed in the Bible are totally in Variant with what Jesus taught his disciples.

In verse the Jesus said '15 “If YOU love me, YOU will observe my commandments; 16 and I will request the Father and he will give YOU another helper to be with YOU forever, 17 the spirit of the truth, which the world cannot receive, because it neither beholds it nor knows it. YOU know it, because it remains with YOU and is in YOU. ,

We need to ask in what way does mohammed fulfill this part of the verse, 'the spirit of the truth, which the world cannot receive, because it neither beholds it nor knows it YOU know it, because it remains with YOU and is in YOU', this shows that the spirit is already operating in them but as then they have not been anointed by the spirit, like the way Jesus was officially anointed at his baptism. The world eventually received mohammed, they beheld him when he was alive and they knew him, even his enemies knew him.

Habakuk 3:3 '3 God himself proceeded to come from Te′man, even a Holy One from Mount Pa′ran. Se′lah.

His dignity covered [the] heavens; and with his praise the earth became filled, What has this got to do with Mohammed,

That place was talking about God almighty, he is the Holy one the verse was referring to, in fact habakuk was actually quoting from a song that Moses sang in praise of God for what he did during their 40 years wandering in the wilderness. He then cited places where God did great works on behalf of his people, the verse is shown below,
deut 33:2
Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of the [true] God blessed the sons of Israel before his death. 2 And he proceeded to say:

“Jehovah—from Si′nai he came,
And he flashed forth from Se′ir upon them.
He beamed forth from the mountainous region of Pa′ran,
And with him were holy myriads,
At his right hand warriors belonging to them.

He was reminding the people of all the great deeds of God, just because Mohammed came from the land of Arabia, does not mean any biblical reference to a holy one from that place must be mohammed, the verse itself lets us see who this holy one is, it is God and not Mohammed, a lot of 'holy men' of different religions have come from those deserts b4 mohammed, anyone of them can also lay claim to this verse, but they would all be wrong, because the verse said God.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Bible Confirms The Messengership Of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by rabzy: 3:31pm On Feb 05, 2010
The way scriptures can be twisted to suit a particular reasoning can be very bizarre and sometimes annoying, my advice to my Muslim friends here is that if they can't study the Bible to learn the truth about it, and not just to criticize and prove some points, at least, at the very least they should read thru the entire chapter or some verses out of the chapter they quote from,

Now lets talk about 'fact' number 2.

Fact II: Isaiah 42:1-13 speaks of the beloved of God; His messenger who shall not fail nor be discouraged till he has set judgement on earth. Moreover, Isaiah 42:11 connects that awaited messenger with the descendant of Kedar, who was the second son of Ishamael, (Gen. 25:13) the ancestor of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Yes, the chapter talked the beloved messenger of God, but it was not talking about Mohammed, it was talking about Jesus, in fact matthew 12:17-21, states that it was Jesus that the prophesy applies, but am sure you would say that is part of the 'corrupted' part of the Bible, i would leave that aside, so lets just go to the scriptures you quoted,

In the beginning of the chapter, the scriptures was talking about God's beloved Servant, but did you notice the change of thought or the change in the flow of conversation in verse 8, which continues to 12

'I am Jehovah. That is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory, neither my praise to graven images. The first things—here they have come, but new things I am telling out. Before they begin to spring up, I cause you people to hear them.

Sing to Jehovah a new song, his praise from the extremity of the earth, you men that are going down to the sea and to that which fills it, you islands and you inhabiting them. Let the wilderness and its cities raise their voice, the settlements that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of the crag cry out in joy. From the top of the mountains let people cry aloud. Let them attribute to Jehovah glory, and in the islands let them tell forth even his praise'

We can clearly see that God was asserting his Supremacy and his ability to foretell and for-ordain the future, then Isaiah in verse 10 now urges all the people of the earth to praise God, to sing his praise from all parts of the earth, from the islands to the, the High Mountains, from the crags, to the settlements of Kedar (desert settlers, settled Arabs, tents of Arabs), Let them all attribute to God glory, let the islands tell forth his praise,

In what way, in the remotest attachment does this talk about the messenger coming from Kedar, the people of kedar are part of the inhabited earth, and Isaiah is calling on them also to praise Almighty God, just like the people of Islands, mountains, crags, he was not talking about where the messenger would hail from, if that was the case, then any island e.g Victoria Island, lol, any wilderness, any crag people can claim that Messenger is from there, But the thought in those verses was not about his Origin, it was about everybody, from wherever they are to praise the Almighty.

Please this 'fact' 2 is pure hogwash, please lets show more intelligence.

Quote from Abu_safwan
'This exactly as the prophecy has it- 'FROM AMONG THEIR BRETHREN'.(Deut.18:18). There the prophecy distinctly mentions that the coming prophet who would be like Moses, must arise NOT from the 'children of Israel' or from 'among themselves', but from among their brethren. MUHUMMED THEREFORE WAS FROM AMONG THEIR BRETHREN!”.

Am sure you did not read thru the chapter of deut 18. you would have discovered what he said in deut 18:15,

n deut 18:15, moses said
'A prophet from your own midst, from your brothers, like me, is what Jehovah your God will raise up for you—to him YOU people should listen',

15"(A)The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him.

I have had the privilege of discussing with many muslims on so many religious issues, i appreciate their passion in what they do, but it also amazes me when they are so fixated on just one phase of an issue or not being holistic enough in their approach,

The five facts that started this thread are no facts at all, just at best circumstatial statements that are not sure-footed. The case of Deut 18:18. is a very poor one.

In deut 18:15, moses said
'A prophet from your own midst, from your brothers, like me, is what Jehovah your God will raise up for you—to him YOU people should listen',

15"(A)The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him.

The verse clearly said from YOUR OWN MIDST, FROM YOUR BROTHERS, this clearly shows that 'own midst=your brothers, it was clearly talking about the prophet coming from the midst of the nation of israel, which constituted a tribe of twelve brothers and therefore all members of the nation of israel are brothers of each other, so how can it be that the brothers/brethren can only refer to Ishmael/Arabs, Moses could have just told them that he is going to be from the Arabs,

The term 'your own midst'  could not have ever meant the arabs, mohammed never came from the midst of Israel.

You want to have us believe that the Israelites don't refer to themselves as brothers and so when they talk about their brothers it must be the Arabs.

Pls check out these verses, where the israelites refered to each other as brothers, or are these verses also talking about the Arabs, :

And Ab′ner began to call to Jo′ab and say: “Is the sword going to eat endlessly? Do you not really know that bitterness is what will develop at last? How long, then, will it be before you say to the people to turn back from following their brothers?

This statement was made during the civil that happened between the tribes supporting saul led by the tribe of benjamin and the people supporting David (led by the tribe of Judah)

Also in acts 7:26

25Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not. 26The next day Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting. He tried to reconcile them by saying, 'Men, you are brothers; why do you want to hurt each other?'

He was supposing his brothers would grasp that God was giving them salvation by his hand, but they did not grasp [it]. 26 And the next day he appeared to them as they were fighting, and he tried to bring them together again in peace, saying, ‘Men, YOU are brothers. Why do YOU treat each other unjustly?

From the above it clearly shows that the israelites do see and call people from other tribes their brothers, they know they are related to some other nations like the moabites, Ammonites, the Edomites and the Arabs, but hardly do they see them as brothers, in fact people from such Nations are viewed like every other nations, they are all gentiles to the israelites.

Lastly, check this too Judges 21:6

Judges 21:6 (New International Version)

6 Now the Israelites grieved for their brothers, the Benjamites. "Today one tribe is cut off from Israel," they said.

So plzzzz, its a very shaky argument to just assume or believe that Moses must only be talking about the Arabs.

I would comment about the other 'facts' later, let me do some work,

you've started a post that could get very heated here, i don't like it when people throw insults around. i hope this won't degenerate too fast and too bad, I heard about the benin oral tradition of the prince that left Benin, but oral traditions would still be hearsay, we can't be 100% sure that the benins did not bring that up to counter the Yoruba claim, but from both yoruba and benin oral tradition, the benins were never an offshoot of the yorubas,

There are millions of people who know something is wrong with this country, yeah a whiteman can comment about it no problems, but let no naijaking brand all Nigerians as sitting on their laps and doing nothing or that we're kidding ourselves that everything is fine. Like i said b4, thousands of Nigerians if not millions (civil war) have died for what they believe could make Nigeria better.

Have you forgotten Dele Giwa, Gani, Bayo Ohu, the dozens of people that were assasinated by Abacha, the scores of protesting students who were murdered by different regimes.

Change is inevitable, its either we change or we die, and we would not die, change would come, even if it is slowly and its left for you to do your part or wait when you are reincarnated in another lifetime.

Naijaking,

This is some rebranding for you:

An Italian woman knocks down the pope: they said she was mentally unstable

A man broke the PMs nose and possibly knocked off some teeth: He too was said to be a mental case.

Kids pick up guns and kill dozens of classmates and teachers: He definitely had some mental depression.

Guess what in the west, when you plead a case of anything mentally unstable, you go scot-free or end up in an institution, meaning no-one is to blame.

Rebranding Our Terrorist: Mentally deranged.

There are actual eyewitness reports that he was incoherent, confused and seems to be under the influence of a drug. The western media has not actually been so vocal about it, maybe he was hypnotized, drugged or something. Have you also wondered why he was unable to blow himself, from all i hear (rather watch on American movies), it just takes a simple switch to set off those things, why could he not just do that? So would i be deluding myself, if i say Nigerians are not terrorist or that if we are profiled as terrorists, then 2/3 of the world's nations has to be on a terror watch.

So naijaking, what do you do about an islamic blockhead, trained in Uk, possibly recruited in Yemen, yeah give us some superior intelligence about how to rebrand on that,

How can you say we deny basic problems, are you really honest with yourself, Nigerians deny basic problems, is that what every poster has been doing, or that is the way you want to see it?

The guy finally said lets get out the bloody blood suckers destroying our economy and you even took him up on that.

Please Guy examine urself, your frustration with the Nigerian situation is making you not think clearly, you definitely need some fresh air in californian beach or some swedish alps (am sure no air in Nigeria would be clean enough for you).

Guy, just take am easy, no wound urself

I agree that no country is a paradise, but it takes special love and care for one's country to criticize and point out the ills of the society. The strongest and possibly the worst criticizm of any country should come its critical citizens. Italians, Swedes, Mexicans all critisize their countries from their own perspectives. In Nigeria, you get crucified for being of a different tribe, for being a diasporan, and even for advocating clean breathing air for your own country embarassed Who would have thought that maintaining good air quality in Nigerian cities would be one more issue of controversy?
I hate to put it to you bluntly; you're not going to outclass anybody when you waste energy and time denying basic problems------- clean air, pure water, power supply, etc.

Every practioner of PR knows that the effort to sell a product must match the quality of the product for a long term success. If PR overshadows quality, you simply have a rejection of the product over time. Ask the people who have spent billions of dollar trying to re-brand Nigeria, all it took was one 23-year old islamic extremist to set the clock back.
This is where I thought your argument becomes counter-intuitive: You're offended by people who criticize Nigeria, and yet you want to get the people in power out of office? How huh
A lot of people are in such a hasty hurry to reveal their frustration and in a very nasty way too. Naijaking, there is nothing this guy has said or will anyone ever say about this country that has not been said by Nigerians and also in our national dailies, why are you guys saying we need a white guy to point this out to us, are you saying we are that daft or you just want to insult your own people (even, if you not a nigerian, u don't just insult people).

Do you know how many Nigerians died during the elections to try and make their votes count? how many activists, lawyers, students are shouting themselves hoarse, going to courts to get some form of attitudinal change from the government? Do you know how many protests have been violently quelled by different military rulers and even civilians, have you forgotten the nadeco guys and others that fled the country in their fight for democracy, was ken saro wiwa and others white men?
Have you actually thot well about the religio-socio-cultural dynamism of Nigeria that is making change come in bits? we are not stupid, we know who we are, we know our challenges and God-willing we will triumph.

We have been under no-rule (military rule) for too long and this democracy is still a quaisi-military rule, we would get somewhere i know, but it would take a while (how long, i dont know), everyone know good change comes slowly.

You guys should give yourself and everyone a break.

Instead of everybody standing on the side line saying "Thank you Fasola", everybody should be writng the man a letter to ask what they can do to help him with these huge projects. Its so easy to fold you arms & say "Thank You" and then go back to your Gari & okro soup (with extra dry fish & big big meat, eating with dat ya dirty fingers wey you never wash since you commot from the latrine). He doesn't need your thank yous, he needs your contributions. So, call him! write him! and ask how you can help. You could do something as little as paying your Taxes. It all adds up.
Maybe if you can let us know how we can reach him or his commissioners or somebody that can actually assess the info given and do something about it and i pay a heavy tax too about 20% of what i earn

A big thanks to Ashiwaju Ahmed Tinubu for introducing BRF. . God Bless you!

But stop! That's were the flipping glorification ends. Right there. I can't stand people who attribute the successes of BRF with Tinubu. This guy started work from day one he was sworn into office.
Tinubu had 8 years. Was Lagos better or worse off under Tinubu. . . The feckiing ploncker did nada. . and now rides on the back of a successful man all because he introduced him? Spare us the rubbish!

Ok. . That's off my chest.

I understand Nigerians have far too long been drenched in massive doses of "Will dos" from politicians and come end of their tenure we remain worse. This Man however is a technocrat. You can just tell things will happen. Loads of people will be sceptical as past experiences do no justice to the incumbent. I am one of the enthusiasts though and even more about Lagos. I believe the rail will be completed. Why? well so far BRF has taken all projects he's embarked to more than half or completion. Plus his ideas are not just mainstream but innovative. Maybe not to people that live in the western world at least to the common Lagosian who year after year expects nada from the politicians.

Work has started on the Badagry 10 lane express-way (gateway) and the blue line of the Lagos rail is going to look like this on it.
nateevs:
Unbelievable!

So because people have built houses in the way of development we should let them be because of "Social cost" . .
A 70km drive from the borders of Nigeria (Badagry end) down to Mile 2 could take you 3 hours on a day you are very lucky. On the not so lucky days, those that have driven past can tell you. . I just came down the M1 a few minutes ago from Nottingham to London and an equivalent of the 70km drive in Nigeria took me only 45mins at national speed limit. I could do it 35mins if I drove at 90miles/hr and we are talking about social cost.

How about the social advantage of working in Cotonou and living in Mile 2 and being able to do a round trip in less than 2 hours. .?

How about the economic advantage of cross border trade amongst numerous others that can't be highlighted now?

How environmental advantages of reducing CO2 exhaust from traffic build up over 70km . . ?

The cost of bringing down houses is a small price to pay to pave way for a flurry of advantages most of which will benefit the common man whose front yard was brought down in the first place. Plus I read the LASG gave out financial compensation to the affected.
You've got my mind bro, well said man, well said

You and me. grin

Like Omo Ibo noted it won't be used by everyone besides this is just two routes by the time all routes are completed it'll take more people.
OMO IBO:
I am very much interested in how LAMATA arrived at that figure.

Mind you the LU is used by all and sundry,  . . .and I mean ALL.

I'm sure you and I know those who'll hugely patronise this mode of transportation in Lagos.
I really want to know who you guys think will patronize the metro. Everybody patronises BRT, in most places it is cheaper than Danfo and sometimes even the molue, and far more comfortable. Iyana-ipaja to igando or ikotun is N50, b4 BRT, Danfo used to charge 70,100 or 150 during the rush hours. Everybody takes these buses, the only people i have not seen is the police, because such 'staff' are not allowed in BRT.

Visit 3rd Mainland between 4pm and 8pm. Take a count of the vehicles causing the go-slow and you'll realize BRT is not that popular.
Guy, i dont think you stay in lagos, why are checking out the vehicles on 3rd mainland bridge to determine the popularity of BRT, Go to the BRT parks e.g Oshodi, Iyana ipaja, CMS, Obalende, Ketu, Ojota, Maryland, Ikotun, Igando at the rush hour and mamoth crowds on the queue and then tell me it is not popular.

You definitely dont know what ua talking about. It is because the BRT cant take everyone that the Metro is being planned. And for those who are only interested in Finished projects, they should let us know how many finished projects of Fashola they can mention (i know dozens of them), if they cant reel off 10, then they had better keep quiet.

For those of us who aware of his numerous finished projects, we welcome news of any upcoming or yet-2-b-finished projects. Even though i don't vote, it does not mean i cant see.

My Aunty had a friend who is from benue in Lagos, one day she caught her having sex with another benue man and she got mad and dissapointed with her. The woman explained that it is small matter, that it is their culture and that her husband also go to the man's wife.

Yuck!

But wife swapping and threesomes are now glamorize in western media, so maybe for the morally decadent, its not so yucky
