Mikel Dusts Essien, Song, Gerrard and Scholes?
Mikel best passer in EPL.

you can make such statements and expect people not to analyse the passes and compare it to others. If a dude scores 100+ goals in the Mongolian league every season and papers says he is the highest goal scorer of all time, you don't expect us to just sit back and applaud, of course we will tell praise him for being statistically the highest goal scorer of all time, but we remind he plays in MONGOLIA.

Yes Mikel has completed the highest number of passes, but when most of your passes are within 3metres, terry, essien, alex et al, then the chances that it would be intercepted is greatly reduced, so he would invariably become the highest passer. It is always as if he is training.

2 mischievious guys might just as well quickly pass the ball between themselves for like 10 times every game to win the title, But the idea of best connotes something else to me, not just about 'no be me spoil am' pass, even in sec sch football, we never rated such play high.

Is he the only defensive midfielder, why is he the only one that makes such feeble passes, if terry, essien can push forward into the game, why can't he take risks and push forward, for me he is no longer the player he used to be, i used to love his game when he started with the under 20s, but now he has whittle down his abilities.
How many times does he pass and you would go woooow, how many times does his pass brings tears to your eyes for its sheer beauty, i can watch JJ's awesome passes again and again, or Xavi, iniesta, fabregas, but Mikel's passes are just passes and nothing else, even a stone can pass the ball back to you.

The guy should grow some spine and leave his comfort zone.

I Never attended a boarding school but have always enjoyed listening to the bizarre goings-on there, enough to let me know i won't be sending my kids there,

But i never heard of beating of teachers, i went to a public school in Agege and we always enjoyed watching boxing fights between teachers and students. Then also in those schools alagbara lo n jeun ita, you can hold your own place if only you can fight well, an ss1 boy can be the champion of the school and nobody can touch him, he may be able to beat five seniors at a time.

Also inter-school fights are always a spectacle, sometime while going home you might hear that a rival school is beating up students of your school, you either mobilize yourselves and join the fight or you take off your uniform and pass another way home,

But boarding school rocks,

i think you should do more research about OBEs and you will realise that its got nothing with JW beliefs, on whether they are right or wrong about the soul.
Christianity Etc › Re: Near Death Experince Of An Ex-jehovah Witness. by rabzy: 10:53am On Oct 12, 2010
An out-of-body experience (OBE or sometimes OOBE), is an experience that typically involves a sensation of floating outside of one's body and, in some cases, perceiving one's physical body from a place outside one's body (autoscopy).

The term out-of-body experience was introduced in 1943 by G.N.M Tyrrell in his book Apparitions,[1] and adopted by, for example, Celia Green[2] and Robert Monroe[3] as a bias-free alternative to belief-centric labels such as "astral projection" or "spirit walking". Though the term usefully distances researchers from scientifically problematic concepts such as the soul, scientists still know little about the phenomenon.[4] Some researchers have managed to recreate OBE in a laboratory setup by stimulating a part in the human brain.[5] One in ten people has an out-of-body experience at some time in their lives.[6] OBEs are often part of the near-death experience. Those who have experienced OBEs sometimes claim to have observed details which were unknown to them beforehand.[7]

In some cases the phenomenon appears to occur spontaneously; in others it is associated with a physical or mental trauma, use of psychedelic drugs, dissociative drugs, or a dream-like state. Many techniques aiming to induce the experience deliberately have been developed,[8] for example visualization while in a relaxed, meditative state. Recent (2007) studies have shown that experiences somewhat similar to OBEs can be induced by direct brain stimulation. Some of those who experience OBEs claimed to have willed themselves out of their bodies, while others report having found themselves being pulled from their bodies (usually preceded by a feeling of paralysis). In other accounts, the feeling of being outside the body was suddenly realized after the fact, and the experiencers saw their own bodies almost by accident.[9] OBEs often occur during the borderline stage between REM sleep and arousal when sleep paralysis may persist and dream imagery may mingle with sensory input.[citation needed]

Some neurologists have suspected that the event is triggered by a mismatch between visual and tactile signals. They used a virtual reality setup to recreate an OBE.

The state has criminalize the activities of the cart-pushers who use to help in evacuating the waste, but those hunmongous trucks used in disposing the waste can't reach some places, Lagos state should be please de-criminalize the honest work of these cart-pushers but rather regulate it, so as to have a cleaner lagos.

Nairaland General › Ikorodu Floods: Fashola's Response by rabzy(op): 9:42am On Oct 12, 2010
Oct 11, 2010 - Lagos State Government will relocate all the enumerated persons displaced by the flood in Ajegunle in the Kosofe Local Government Area of the State, the State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola said Monday.

Governor Fashola who spoke while addressing some residents of the affected areas and State House Correspondents on Ikorodu Road after inspecting the flooded areas, said the relocation of 681 enumerated victims from the area to the relief camp which has been built for use in the advent of such disasters would commence immediately, adding that all the amenities that would make life amenable would be provided for them at the relief camp.

Expressing deep concern over the disaster, even as he stopped by to empathize with motorists as he waded through a long stretch of flooded area to see things for himself, Governor Fashola said the State Government would help the displaced people set up a new town in collaboration with the Community Development Associations (CDAs), Local Government Chairmen and elected representatives through whom the Government would be reaching out to the people.

In his words: "One of the things we must understand is that this is a flood plain, nobody should live here and the people must be ready to move. As soon as I get to the office, we would be looking for land to relocate the entire communities to a new site and we would be giving you the land as cheaply, if not free, as possible so that you can move and get on with your lives".

Governor Fashola said the Honourable Commissioners for Special Duties, Health and the Environment together with the General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) would be in charge of the programme for the relocation of the displaced families.

"I want to appeal to people to please listen to us. Experts have advised that we have to wait for the water to subside; nature will take its course, but what we can do as a people is to work together and mitigate its adverse consequences", he advised.

The Governor explained that the State Government has been corresponding with the Federal Government in the last three years on the ecological issues in the State and described the present intervention by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA ) as belated.

"There are solutions which we could have proffered to the problem. We could have possibly built a new estate before this latest incident but unfortunately we neither know how the ecological fund is being allocated nor what criteria are being used", the Governor said.

"I think NEMA's contribution has come rather late because we have been corresponding with the Federal Government for three years. When I first came here in 2007, I warned about the danger and I think to bring relief now is not the solution", he added.

He appealed to the people to realize that the area is a flood plain which is backing the lagoon and for which no building plans have been granted by the State Government, adding that what is evident is a high water body in the lagoon, "It has been raining all over the world, so there is nowhere for the water to go. So this is nature at work", he said

According to Governor Fashola, "We need everybody and every member of the community to cooperate with us on the need to move. We have worked together before and we have overcome bigger challenges as a people and I belief that if we cooperate we will put this behind us quickly".

The Governor also appealed to all residents of the area who do not have specific and vital reasons to be on the road to defer such trips so that fewer people could be on the road at any particular time thus easing the traffic gridlock which the flood has aggravated.

"There is no magic that will happen if all of us converge on this road at the same time. There would be this kind of pressure. I understand your pains, I understand your anxiety and I know the conditions in which you have had to go around trying to earn a living. But we can still manage this. If you don't have a business using this road, please stay at home", Governor Fashola advised.

In his words, "I belief that if we have a good weather in the next one or two days, some of the water would have receded. The level of the water in the sea is higher than what we have here but this water cannot discharge into it".

Governor Fashola urged the residents to make the use of the Emergency Toll Free 767, 112 lines to report issues which the State Government might not be aware of, adding that Government may set up more emergency help lines if the need arises.

Also, according to the Governor, helicopters would also make surveillance flights over the area to assist in any further rescue operations that may be necessary as a result of the flood.

As a way out of the traffic gridlock, the Governor bought into a suggestion by one of the elders in the area that pending when the water finally recedes, motorcycles should pick and drop passengers before the waterlogged portions from where vehicles can complete the commuting for the passengers thus reducing the number of bikes that get stuck in the flood.

While reacting to a question on creating necessary awareness of the flood, Governor Fashola said in the last three years sensitization has been going on about the rising water level, increasing rainfall and unpredictable weather conditions.

The Governor also explained: "What has exacerbated this is that there is a global rainfall, the lagoon level where the water usually drains is now higher than the river level. What we now have is a tidal lock where the final drain is higher than the tributary from which it is coming so it is going out in circles instead of exiting into the lagoon".

The Commissioner for the Environment, Dr Muiz Banire had earlier explained that the problem has been a recurring one with the present one being extremely extensive in addition to the fact that there is a rise in sea and lagoon water level.

He added that the only solution is to allow the water to naturally recede because to do otherwise would not be cost efficient and would not meet the exigency of the situation on hand.

While also speaking, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Tola Kasali said the relief camp is ready with all the facilities adding that the personnel that would cater for the needs of the victims are also there waiting for the people.

The Governor was accompanied on the tour by members of the State Executive Council, Local Government Chairmen from the area and representatives of the area at both the National Assembly and the State Assembly.

I want to show gratitude for your help in vindicating muslims from the false charges they label against us everytime. Unfortunately, people are comfortable with thinking that their preferred way of life is superior to others and so would dismiss the information you provided as conspiracy theories in order to remain in their comfortable/blissful ignorance.
Still, thanks for the effort.
Conspiracy theories are mostly theories, they are very interesting to read, but are outrightly false or grossly distorted, a few could be true, but such ones easily come to light eventually,

While i was in OAU, A beauty pageant was planned by the student union, but the Muslim students went on rampage and destroyed all the posters billboards etc and threatened to deal with anyone who attempts to attend. After the Danish cartoon misfortune, a lot of christians where murdered in the north. One day in school i had a discussion with muslim scholar, and after agreeing with some religious points he raised, he declared me a muslim and said i should come for prayers or else a day is coming in which he would have to kill me if i do not join them.
The above incidents were not instigated by any CIA or Nigerian SSS.

Also i have heard what was said about Jesus asking his disciples to buy a sword, it is mischievious for anyone to think it is for violent purposes, the context of the statement shows it is not meant to be used in warfare,

(Luke 22:35-38) 35 He also said to them: “When I sent YOU forth without purse and food pouch and sandals, YOU did not want for anything, did YOU?” They said: “No!” 36 Then he said to them: “But now let the one that has a purse take it up, likewise also a food pouch; and let the one having no sword sell his outer garment and buy one. 37 For I tell YOU that this which is written must be accomplished in me, namely, ‘And he was reckoned with lawless ones.’ For that which concerns me is having an accomplishment.” 38 Then they said: “Lord, look! here are two swords.” He said to them: “It is enough.”

For one two swords can never be enough for 12 people, if it is meant for warfare, but i think it was to teach an object lesson to the disciples, because when the sword was used by peter to strike someone at Jesus's arrest, he rebuked him and said, (Matthew 26:52-53) . . .“Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father to supply me at this moment more than twelve legions of angels?

Nigeria has been run underground by successive governments and Lagosians are elated that at least someone is here who is consciously and striving to bring us from the underground to the surface, so we hope after him another person will come that would lift us up.

The guy is not superhuman and he might be wrong on some things, but we can't deny that he has brought belief and confidence in the government back to the people.

I remember when i was in pry school in the mid 80s, we were taught the colors of traffic light, red-means-stop, yellow-means -ready, green-means-go-go-go and go. As a kid i was fascinated by the thing, but i never saw any at all, i longed to it working somewhere, but all i had was the drawing in my social studies textbook.

Now these guy came and installed these things all over Lagos and now millions of Lagos school kids can see these things for themselves.
These little little things aside from the big ones make us talk about him and wish him the best.

Christianity Etc › Re: How Can Satan Carry God by rabzy: 11:02am On Jul 22, 2010
@rabzy; « #170 on: Today at 02:55:00 PM » so rabzy, toba by his agreement now say God is not Jesus, and Jesus is not God. but i must say God allows satan to torment Jesus. if satan is enemy of God, then no father would have alloed his child to be tormented by his enemy, if he can prevent it. this proofs that Jesus was not the son of God, as well. if he was, then God was unable to stop satan. we know this is not so. So the only situation is that Jesus was not son of God.
[quote][/quote]The moment man fell into sin, he strained the relationship between him and God and instead of destroying us outrightly, God gave all of Adam's offspring the choice to either follow him or choose the course of rebellion championed by Satan and our first parents. So we all need to prove our loyalty to him by remaining steadfast in the face of persecution.

When Jesus came to the earth as a man, he came into the realm of Satan who is described as 'misleading the entire earth' 'ruler of the earth' 'accuser of our brothers'. God has allowed Satan to prove his claim that no man would remain loyal to God except for selfish reasons (Job' case), so Jesus as a man cannot be exempted from this.

Even though Jesus was God's Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation (Heb 5:cool.

(Hebrews 5:7-10) . . .In the days of his flesh [Christ] offered up supplications and also petitions to the One who was able to save him out of death, with strong outcries and tears, and he was favorably heard for his godly fear. 8 Although he was a Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered; 9 and after he had been made perfect he became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him, 10 because he has been specifically called by God a high priest according to the manner of Mel‧chiz′e‧dek.

(Hebrews 4:14-16) 14 Seeing, therefore, that we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold onto [our] confessing of [him]. 15 For we have as high priest, not one who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tested in all respects like ourselves, but without sin. 16 Let us, therefore, approach with freeness of speech to the throne of undeserved kindness, that we may obtain mercy and find undeserved kindness for help at the right time.

So he learnt obedience from his persecution and temptations and became better to Judge mankind, because he has learnt what it means to be human and fleshly.

So it was not a case of God not being able to stop Satan, but it was necessary for him to suffer and triumph thereby proving his loyalty before all doubt.
Politics › Power Sector: Fashola Urges Clear Articulation Of Roadmap By Fg by rabzy(op): 10:36am On Jul 22, 2010
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Saturday said the solution to power shortage in the country does not lie only with the building of more power plants but in the proper management of the power distribution companies and the distribution assets.

Governor Fashola who spoke in an interview with newsmen during a break session at the on-going Joint Lagos State Executive Council and Permanent Secretaries Retreat holding at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Festac added that the State has written to the Federal Government to allow it take over the assets of the two distribution companies located in Lagos namely the Eko Distribution Company and the Ikeja Distribution Company in partnership with the people who have indicated interest to use private sector funding and capacity to manage it.

Said he: "As long as the Federal Government fails to articulate its intention in the power sector, no one will come forward with his money to invest. Until there is efficiency in the distribution end of the power chain, nobody is going to bring money into the power sector".

"We did it with the telecom companies. Immediately the telecom companies got their licenses, they rolled out their mast and repeater stations, they issued bills and collected their money and continued to invest in infrastructure that kept the system going".

He said the National Assembly has passed the law on Power Sector Reforms with all that remains being for the Executive Council to complete the process by telling Nigerians what the roadmap to implementation would look like.

The Governor recalled that he has met several people in the last three years who have indicated interest in coming to invest in the power sector, but want a clear roadmap before doing so, adding: "The people who did it then are still available".

He added: "It is not enough to say we are going to privatize. What is the roadmap?. The decision is not clear to us here in Nigeria and it has to be clear to us here in Nigeria before we can send it outside".

"They have done this in Uganda in three years, they have powered 275,000 homes, the people who did it are ready to work with us but they need a clear roadmap. All we need now is the injection of capital and managerial skills and we are ready to go", the Governor explained.

On the expected impact and highpoints of the on-going Joint Executive Council/Permanent Secretaries Retreat, Governor Fashola said the focus has been on an assessment of what the present government has been doing on a yearly basis and a daily basis and its impact on the people.

He explained that in many African countries, budget implementation and the ability to measure its impact on the people has always been a problem, adding however, that in the last three years, Lagos State has recorded increase in its budget performance on a yearly basis as it continues to re-invent itself.

The Lagos State Governor also said the present government is now engaging in quarterly budget assessment where it is monitoring projects not only being completed but moving a notch higher by trying to measure the impact which the projects have on the citizenry.

"Where we build a new road, we want to know if the new road has helped improved transportation. What is the turnaround time of transportation at peak periods and off peak periods? We also want to know if it has helped raise the standard of living".

"In an area where we have built a park or cleared the drains , we want to know if it has improved healthcare or the standard of living there. How does that translate to a longer life expectancy for the people? Where we build school, has it impacted on the people? How many students are now in the classrooms? How can we improve the student to teacher ratio".

Governor Fashola also said through this the administration is assessing itself and redefining the parameters of the work that is being done in the public service, adding that Lagos is the first sub-national government that is engaging in that in Africa.

He added that specifically all of this can help service delivery across sectors like housing, security, job creation education and healthcare.

In his words: "We listened to the Health sector report yesterday. They have screened over 480,000 people for diabetes and hypertension. We are also doing malaria indoor residual spray in a bid to put an end to malaria instead of just buying nets and drugs, we want to attack malaria. Those countries that have eradicated malaria did not do anything that we cannot do."

"We are already developing an Insurance Scheme for communities, with Ikosi-Isheri people already paying N800 to get basic support for immunization, treatment for diarrhea and all of that in a self insurance system that is being expanded to other communities".

He declared that unlike what may seem obtainable in Africa about whether it would meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), Lagos can stand firm and say: "We have met and will meet the MDGs in education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, reduction of poverty, protection of women and gender equality. These are areas where we think it is possible to announce very positive results by 2015 in Lagos State".

On prevalence of attacks especially by uniformed men against operatives of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), Governor Fashola appealed to all those who attack public officers to think twice, saying: "We will protect them(the public officers) and bring the full impact of the law to bear on those who attack them".

He added that the members of the public must understand that those who signed up to serve in the public service signed up to serve and not to be assaulted, brutalized or insulted.

They use to call me iru-obo, 'monkey-tail', which was an adaptation of my actual name, i learnt to live with it and when i remember now, it makes me laugh a lot. i had a classmate we call Enugu, he has a protruding mouth/jaw

A younger cousin told me that they had a classmate that they call 'Etisalat', because he has very big ears, that made me laugh so much,

So please lets have some more and some fun.

We got along well he is IBO and very traditional I understood that and learn the culture. The food, I traveled to nigeria as often as possible. I loved the culture because it reminded me of North Carolina were I am from. I love Nigerian movies, I cook the food and love it. I dance. When I even learn some of the language.

I did all this for the love of my husband. Even his sending money home, many travels. In fact the main reason we can not get a head here in the US is because of his my travel and business explots back home. All promising BIG money and then nothing.

I never put down his culture but embraced all. But after many years of him denying he even wanted to become a citizen oneday I found out he had applied and completed without me even knowing it until the end. He even went to be naturlized without me. I was so soso hurt after 7 years of marriage. Now, he has basically moved down to Nigera no warning, just quite his job for the latest contract.

I have since found out about women, so many women, About 2yrs ago he stop touching me, no sex unless i begged and pleaded. I have never cheated on my husband despite his trying to prove and say I have with people in the church. In the past I would be the 1st to say on one of these boards no you are wrong. Nigerian men are great, lovers, fathers, husbands. Until now,

I try not to say all of any race/culture but I am begining to see more and more IBO wives say the same thing.

Tell me how can a man stay away from his wife 6mths and not desire herhuhI am not ugly or fat, I am beautiful and I love life, and love the lord, but somehow the love of my life left me empty here in the US.

cry so now agree with Nigerian men are hard, no sensitivity, no love (only for themselves) heartless.

living sad in VA
ReeRee
The above story is so sad and its a shame men behave this way. The problem is that a lot of people from Africa travel abroad for economic reasons and a determination to get it or die trying. Many have risked their lives to attain it, so abandoning their families might not be hard for them to do. As a Christian, you would remember what the bible says in 1st Tim 6:9

' However, those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and hurtful desires, which plunge men into destruction and ruin. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains.'

Well, you should know also that back here in Nigeria as elsewhere in the world, a lot of men and less often women also abandon their families for other women and drive out their former wife and kids, So its just the debased nature of humans manifesting in different ways,

May God give you the strength to forge ahead.
Culture › Nigerian Parents Gave Birth To Blonde-hair White Baby by rabzy(op): 8:12am On Jul 20, 2010
There has been many wonders of birth but this definitely is right there at the top or close to the top.
A Nigerian Couple Just gave birth to a completely white baby, she has blue eyes and blonde hair. I think this is going to create a lot of challenges for the family and especially for the baby as she grows older.

Wishing them the very best.

Anyone who says Fashola has abandoned the mainland is either purposely being mischievous or does not stay in Lagos, i was born in the mainland and i still live there and i can say that i have never seen so much growth in so short a time as this, whether the Atlantic city is a white elephant project or not is yet to be seen, some people also said the BRT scheme would not work and it is working despite all the challenges,

But for all the nay-sayers, let it be known that i have never seen this much development before and am glad its happening, those who don't appreciate his efforts can go into a 'nearby bush and eat shit, a weekday old shit'.
Romance › Re: Why Is The Infidelty Of A Woman More Difficult For The Guys? by rabzy: 10:05am On Jul 15, 2010
Its very difficult because of so many biased reasons but for the evolution junkies, this could be their an answer,

A woman is always sure of her offsprings, she knows whatever child she is bearing is hers, but a man runs the risk of rearing another man's child, He is never too sure that the child is his, so when he finds his wife cheating, it brings forward all the insecurities and the fears of maybe he has been fathering bastard children,

So men evolved to punish infidelity in women harshly

What is the Meaning of 'Mentally Unstable'? How long do you have to be mentally Unstable for you to be 'mentally unstable',

He must have surveyed himself and found out he is 70% 'mentally unstable', and we can't trust his judgement because he is definitely mentally unstable,

Satan did not carry God, we are talking of Jesus here. Then i believe he showed him all the Kingdoms of the world in a vision, as there is no mountain in any part of Israel where you could see all the kingdoms of the world.

While it sad that the world cup replicas have been stolen, but it is neither a Nigerian, South African or African thing, it is a Human thing. If there is anything of value in display and it is not properly protected then it would be stolen, it does not matter what country it was on display, reputable museums spend millions protecting their valuables and some art thieves still manage to steal them,

And talking about the world cup, it is not the first time it has been stolen before, the original was once stolen in britain and was later recovered, many replicas have been stolen also before and the first world cup made the Jules rimet cup made of solid gold, which Brazil won for keeps, was stolen while on public display.

The cup was kept in a cabinet with a bullet-proof glass in front, but the back of the cabinet was made of wood, all the thieves did was to pry it open from behind with a crowbar steal the cup, lol

Lets not cry more than the bereaved,

Maybe they should put a tranquilizer in there, that would knock the guy out in 30s, well if that is the case then all guys have to beware because your wife/bf could even do it to you.

But women needs something like this especially with a tranquilizer because we have been messing with them for aeons.
