olaade21:I'm missing everybody! I need to get back to Nigeria. Wet in dey do dis pikin sef wey na now e wan come? Thank you for the love. |
All one can do is use additives and be cautious buYing fuel. Also, don't let tank get below one quarter. I'm at 60k on my car in Nigeria with no fuel pump issues. My catalytic converter on the other hand My family has been in oil from the beginning and i promise is not our fault! It's the tankers and the station storage systems. (Okay maybe the single grade is a little our fault). Someone hold me back please because someone asked if tokunbo or new fuel pump is better. |
erico2k2:What spec? This is the lowest spec one we have in cordless. Porter Cable Cordless Impact Wrench - 4Ah 20 Volt Lithium-Ion Battery with pro grade cells - 330 FT-LBS of torque for heavy applications http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=SBD&partNumber=PCC740LA

Well said dru23. I agree 100%. I'm glad there are sources like you that help bring prices down. |
Piyke:PREACH!
|
GAZZUZZ:You brave o! ![]() |
EgunMogaji:I agree but would argue about the cheaper part. Depends on the engine. e.g. Corolla, yes. Land cruiser, hell no. Plus, still no warranties. It works for a week and breaks, your problem. |
dumo1:No,it doesn't. |
lilkech:You really didn't leave us much to say here. Most of the time, the damaged parts are few and cheap and may come down to just gaskets, rods or a head that needs machining. We have all the boxes checked and will almost always rebuild rather than replace. It is nearly always cheaper and comes with a warranty (especially in this country with cheap labor). We gave an example in our little rant about rebuilding https://www.nairaland.com/4501821/milex-carquest-2nd-largest-usa/18#69784777When it's not better for the customer to rebuild, we recommend replacement. Gazzuzz, would you confidently give a customer a 6 month to 1 year warranty on that beauty? I'm guessing no because you never really know the story behind that replacement. We have the machine to make any engine look prettier than that one in 45minutes and internally it's a piece of crap. It's the same machine used to clean up all the parts when we rebuild. |
dru23: falzthebadguy:Dru23, that was a general statement and i don't remember mentioning you. I don't know what you specifically do. What i do know is that some people on here (including you according to falz) buy from Wal-Mart et al on sale. What they then do is take it to shippers who put them inside vehicles or other containers that are classified as household items and either avoid or minimize the tax completely. Oil is considered hazmat and taxed a lot higher than parts, even containerized. With air freight (which is what we use), it's at $7/lb. This option was offered to us for oil, gas struts, batteries and other hazmat products, however when you bring things by container, it's not as easy. Plus, when you spend as much as we have, you don't risk your entire business on trying to cut corners. Our actual costs for the oil are most likely the same or even lower than yours. Our methods and overhead however are not. You specialize in oil, we do not. It is simply one item in our thousands of lines. It's there anything untrue in what I've said? And if it doesn't apply to you (and again, i never said it did), move on. Now if you want to drag this out, we can circumvent all that and simply post both our manufacturer/distributor order invoices right here. |
erico2k2:Hehn? No it's the harmattan. Lol Which tool did you say you wanted? |
GAZZUZZ:Haba! On the real though. I'm confused. I didn't know you could get in an argument with someone while agreeing with them! But please settle one thing. Na true I talk? I'm still waiting for the wahala I started with diportivo |
falzthebadguy:THAT'S the very first one I replied about and the one I said we are expensive on! It's the one Gazzuzz has for 17,550! I agreed with you so I'm not sure what the dispute is? radautoworks: This one we are way more expensive https://www.nairaland.com/4606605/mobil1-5w30-advance-full-synthetic Like we said, this has been hashed through before on this thread and it was agreed upon to buy the cheaper source. Nothing else makes sense! That is why we don't stock because we know there are slightly cheaper though inconsistent sources. In the event those sources are out, that is where we come in. We can bring them in 24/7/365. ALL OF THEM. For a little bit more than waiting for a sale. It's 5:30 in the morning and I'm due in three weeks. I'm going back to sleep. |
falzthebadguy:Carquest is Amalie or in rare cases Valvoline. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalie_Oil_Company http://www.amalie.com/About-Us Amalie is way higher performance than Mobil and was actually a high performance racing oil. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://pitstopusa.com/c-891227-oil-fluids-chemicals-motor-oil-amalie-motor-oil.html&ved=2ahUKEwiS4d_so93cAhVClKwKHTHkDFMQFjAGegQIBRAB&usg=AOvVaw0ApiCElCP0jj9kPPrfBsGS The sheets are there for you to compare. I'm not sure why the aggressiveness from you a about our oil pricing when as your said there are so many sources out there (that again we've endorsed). My only issue is your saying we are double and when i checked, with the exception of one, we are not. Feel free to ask Gazzuzz and Egunmogaji if these prices are prices they can sustain any time they want it or if they wait for sales. Also ask them about their thoughts on Carquest. I've used Carquest for my own vehicles and never had a motor go bad so to each his own. Buy what you're comfortable with! |
falzthebadguy:This one we are way more expensive https://www.nairaland.com/4606605/mobil1-5w30-advance-full-synthetic Our price on this http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=MOB&partNumber=14977 is N25,733 NOT double https://www.nairaland.com/4477823/us-spec-5-qt-mobil we are only N2,700 more than AutoElectNG I could go on and on.... No 6-10day delivery I explained that and told you it was intentional What buy from you if in your words you will source for it between 6-10 days and twice the price? I didn't say you should! I said there were better prices out there and recommended some! How do you ensure product quality if you don't have a particular source? Dru23 shops from Walmart, I have seen the stickers on his product before, same with Autoelectng, how do you know the products you are sourcing within nigeria are quality products. Not sure where you got this impression... We don't source from Nigeria or Walmart. We get through manufacturers from USA! Please look up Carquest and Advance Auto parts. That's why the other guys can sell cheaper. Wait for a Walmart sale or liquidation, buy cheap, don't pay duty and boom! |
falzthebadguy:Just checked and they are not even much cheaper!! Thank you!!
|
diportivo:That's why we have them on 6-10 day delivery because we know people can get them cheaper. If someone really can't find it and orders it,we bring it in. We don't stock them unless ordered ![]() And I'm going to say something that will start quarrel. Carquest is better than Mobil one anyway. Come at me bro ![]() |
falzthebadguy:No,they do not pay duty. As previously mentioned, that option is available to us but not at the volume we move. It would be too obvious. It is also why you notice their inventory is not consistent. They find sales and liquidations, buy cheap and avoid duty so inventory is whatever they could find on that week. We are transparent and confident in what we offer. If you look through the thread, you will see that we have quoted many, many parts. We even provided one or two other sellers we discovered selling the same parts we do because we know they may sometimes be cheaper for the customer. Ebuks4ever one of your links is even one we've promoted. |
falzthebadguy:You do know high mileage means for older cars not more miles right? That is a great question. We addressed this before and thebigkendo is exactly right. We do not shop liquidations and sales overseas as we are provided regular inventory by manufacturers. Couple that with how we bring in our inventory and we end up at the price we are. We know how the 'small champs' bring oil in for those prices but would rather not go that route. We cannot be the lowest at every item we sell but can promise original and consistent inventory at fair prices overall every single time as you see with the other oils on the list. As a distributor,we must also provide our commercial accounts with a different pricing tier. Add on the fact that we accept responsibility for everything we sell in the form of warranties. Besides,if we were the lowest in everything, how would the 'small champs' survive? ![]() |

GreekDon:Actually, yes we do. We will be franchising 9 more locations over the next 7 years. Once we do, our warranties will be Nationwide. Any shop will honor any other shop's warranty. Currently, Ibadan, Abuja and Enugu are in the works. PH is one of my priorities and if we don't have a franchisee interested there, we may end up doing it ourselves. |

Iceman296:Probably cheaper alternative in Long run is to change tires and possibly rim. You won't get a lot of lift but maybe just enough. Lifting the car itself or using spacers in the long run will increase your maintenance costs. Alternatively, and I say this without any sarcasm, sell and get a car with more clearance. |
