@ the middle of the project.

one must put the customer first and not profit..... customer loyalty will ultimately translate to profit (but on a professional base.... always).

but the cost of doing business...... is very high esp in Nigeria where u have very little people willing to pay the exact fee for enjoying a particular service.... everyone has been programmed to believe N10,000 written on paper can be negotiated to N2,000
not considering the cost of parts and or labor....
it's the norm and trying to change it will take a long time since its a long term project which will involve a lot of losses.

streamlining is the only solution as dealers, suppliers and sellers already understand this and stock up as necessary... when a learned customer comes they show them both the fake and original tokumbo and new.... so any which way, they will still sell.

but all the same I'm. with u guys... cos when there is life there is.... ____.
Yes, it will happen in the middle of project especially with engine and trans work but rarely, if you know what you're doing

Hence our tagline

That's why we were left with skid marks in Gazzuzz story cheesy

Still don't believe in it and will only offer quality parts. If the customer wants to bring their parts they can, but we won't offer a warranty on the work.

There is.. DONUTS!!

The silver driver is at fault, firstly you can see the maroon car on blinkers to the left and secondly look at the point of contact maroon car was already at is front Accord to the road traffic rules are regulations any hit from the rear back is the fault from the hind drive conclusion silver is at fault
You are right. One, rear is at fault and two, you are supposed to yield to being overtaken even by Nigerian highway code rules. Part of defensive driving.

At intersections without traffic lights, signs or road lines: you must give way to any vehicle entering or approaching the intersection from your right. if you are turning right, you must give way to oncoming vehicles going straight through the intersection or turning left (except if they are using a slip lane).

The above is from the highway code (USA). It specifically talks about yielding at intersections.
The Nigerian highway code forbids overtaking when getting to junctions.
It also mandates motorists to makes sure they are clearly of the vehicle they want to overtake before changing lanes.
See link.
http://www.highwaycode.com.ng/viii-overtaking-rules.html
Yes and yes. All highway codes so to be clear before overtaking but you never yield to the left correct? Also, see from your link on what it says about being overtaken which I suspect it's what happened in this case.

A little bit more speech about customer service and I'll get off my soap box grin

Look, no one can say that issues will never arise. We're humans, of course ish will happen.

The defining moment for a good company is how they respond in those times of ish.

There's something called crisis management and it's not only for big companies like Apple, Nissan GM, etc this is one of the reasons that some employees that flee those companies go ahead and form spectacular startups. The training and learnings that they've had propels them forward. Of course you do have to have a good product.
Why does this stuff sound better when YOU say it huh

I'll be home soon. My site is up at TobiMotors.Com though my offerings are limited by design until I am in Nigeria full time. It's a different concept.

1) If I feel that I can't satisfy the customer then I won't take the job.

2) Customer service is job number one.

3) It will not be cheap but there are Nigerians that will value good customer service and "Fix It Once" Repairs.

Buhari/Atiku/Obasanjo can't fix Nigeria, they are just one person. It is the cumulative effort of average Nigerians that will turn the tide. It may not be in my lifetime but it will happen.

I would never in a million years post the name of a client online. Even if I wanted to my fingers won't agree grin

By the way gents here is how it's supposed to be done.

1) Look at the estimate and look at the final total, see how close they are?

2) Any deviation from the estimate requires authorization from the owner. It's a law.

3) You can request your old parts back unless it's used as a core return.

If you're not doing business like this then I have no respect for you.

I'll charge a non-refundable troubleshooting fee that MAY be applied to the final bill. If you decide to go and do the work yourself or somewhere else then no bad feelings. I think this is one of the causes of bad belle that we see.

I fi I tell you that starter is bad and I changed it and started in not bad then I owe you a full refund for the starter. No questions asked.

The only time for ambiguity is stuff like opening up an engine and then finding that cylinder bores are work out of spec.

Fixing a modern car shouldn't be trial and error and most definitely not on the customer's dime.

#LazyNigerianYouths can make a killing in any industry if they put customer service first and foremost.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS! this is how exactly how we do business and the standard we are trying to make the norm here. complete transparency. We also explain everything we do to the owner. If you can get with the program we can't deal with you.

Nice write up. Kindly educate me on the phrase "normal use" because I am thinking that there is fraud in the use of that phase by manufacturers.

If every other thing is normally in place and I get a powertrain defect by sustaining the highest speed possible over a prolonged period, can that be considered normal use or not?

Regards.
Well, not exactly fraud but language to protect themselves. Your example would not be considered normal use except maybe you bought a car specifically designed to be used under those conditions...

E.g. if you intentionally took a Wrangler Rubicon off roading through the most insane terrain you could find for a month and broke something in the drivetrain, it would not be considered abuse because that was the manufacturers promise use. Do that with a Corolla however and umm...

Sustaining highest speed possible over prolonged periods would be seen as abuse (and also illegal) I would imagine. I suspect in the owner and maintenance manual of the vehicle it would mention something about engine care and recommended activities. This is where a lawyer would come in.

Entertain yourself.

If I have to go through this length to explain the little concept of reposession of vehicles (which you can easily learn on Google), it means you are in it for the attention.

I said ' no major out-of-pocket" expenses and you are listing minor maintenances in a car. Knock yourself out. I refuse to believe that you are this daft. Take care.

/
A tune up on the average car is about $250 and ac jobs (especially compressor related) are typically about $600 up. Those are not minor maintenance. Repos were part of my JOB twice and I heard the reasons why both when I worked in Auto finance and owned a repair shop so unless you have more experience than that, I'm not sure why you insist on arguing.

https://roadloans.com/blog/car-repossession-how-it-works

I have provided facts to back up what I'm saying but you've only provided your opinion and insults.

You do know that insults are a sign of ignorance right? smiley
