The philosophical underpinnings of your links are wrong, narrow, brutish and downright capitalist oriented
What does capitalism have to do with it? A definition is a definition lol. Cars are assets, not investments. Investments are assets but not all assets are investments lol.

Aww.. I was giving you a nickname! I thought it was cute. Okay we'll stick with wereypey. Let me put it to you this way. You have it bass ackwards.

An investment is an asset but an asset is not necessarily an investment. Your last post didn't address anything!

Why did you bother INVESTING in the ASSET?
Sense wee not kee me cheesy
Assets are not necessarily investments. They are simply necessary in the course of life and/or business. Notice nowhere in your own definition does it say anything about investments

Car Talk › Re: Your Car Is 'Not An Investment!' by radautoworks: 7:29am On Aug 11, 2018
You guys are conflating asset and investment. A car is an asset... A depreciating one most of the time. This is why you can use it to generate income and increase status in Nigeria.

A car is never an investment for the simple fact that unless it's a very rare classic, it is not going to appreciate in value.

Some parts are non magnetic and also I've found that some parts fall into tight spots where the bigger magnetic head can't penetrate but the small claw head can get into.

I have assorted number of these things. They are very handy and cheap.

And while we're on the topic, too many people rush to buy cars that can't afford them.

To really know if you can afford to own a car, go look at local parts shops and mechanics for the cost and labor of the following items for the specific car you are considering should you need them. If you can afford it in an emergency, buy. If not, wait.

1) brake pad and/or rotor replacement- smartoyota, radautoworks, carpartsnigeria.com
2) a new or good used tire gazzuzz
3) oil change with proper oil or you will blow your engine quickly- dru23, gazzuzz, ebuks4ever,radautoworks, carpartsnigeria.com
4) a new battery- carpartsnigeria.com
5) alternator- radutoworks, smartoyota, carpartsnigeria.com
6) radiator smartoyota, radautoworks
7) 4 spark plugs

If you can afford any and all of these without breaking a sweat should something happen, buy a car. These are the most common things that will prevent you from being able to use your car at all- and how stupid would you look having just bought a car with it just sitting parked because you can't afford maintenance embarassed

"Please tech guru's, just bought a 2045 owambe v6 and the whoozit is not behaving properly. What could be the problem?"

Or

"Just bought the 1988 haaaa wetinbedis. The OWNER said it had new leg and diamond encrusted streering wheel. They also said it has 50,000km original on it and no one ever sat in the passenger and/or back seat so suspension is brand new. What should I do for future maintenance?"

PAY N5,000-25,000 DEPENDING ON THE CAR TO HAVE A USED CAR INSPECTION DONE BEFORE YOU BUY THE CAR! STOP LOOKING FOR FREE DIAGNOSIS AND LAMENTING REPAIR COSTS AFTER YOU BUY THE CAR WITHOUT AN INSPECTION! IF THE CAR IS GOOD, THE SELLER SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM REFUNDING THE COST OF THE INSPECTION TO YOU TO MAKE THE SALE!
