I for call you baby lawyer but you nor be lawyer yet. If you do become a lawyer, here's some free advice:
Always do a thorough analysis of the issues involved in a legal problem.

Use the issues to identify the appropriate law(s) that apply to that situation. Do all the laws apply to all the actors?

As much as possible, have a senior colleague review your application of the law(s) to the facts on ground.

In this case, you applied the wrong sections of only one applicable law (Electoral Act as amended). You omitted the most critical sections of the Act sef).
Wetin you do to Companies and Allied Matters Act (for corporate donors), the various anti money-laundering laws including ICPC Act and EFCC Act, and of course the Constitution (for the governors donating state funds)? I suggest you buy these laws or use your school library (if they're available).

For now, you have scored 0/10. Your assignment is to go and study all these laws and rewrite your essay. Also, give me the number of your dean. We need to talk.

Case dismissed with costs against the Op.

PoliticsRe: Crashing Oil Prices; A Blessing In Disguise For Nigeria!!!! by Rainmaker69(m): 12:50pm On Dec 20, 2014
dein77:
Millions of Nigerians are alarmed at the falling oil prices at the international oil market. For many, it's a sign of doom. But for me, and probably for a microscopic few, it's a blessing in disguise.

Our leaders have wasted decades of oil fortunes that would have been massively invested in infrastructures and other sectors of the economy, and now they are falling the accompanying consequences. Isaac Newton's Third Law of Motion comes to mind. It was only a matter of time before Nigeria paid for its profligacy and waste. We hardly learn, as a nation!

We have refused to think beyond oil; our mental faculties took a deadly sabbatical from the moment the blackgold was discovered in commercial quantities. Now, external forces are controlling our destiny as a people.

The falling oil prices will definitely FORCE our leaders to be more proactive in diversifying our economy. Diversifying our economy will definitely give us more options of survival. It's an economic suicide for an entire nation to depend entirely on a commodity so volatile in the International market. If ever we needed to diversify our economy , it's NOW.

The crashing oil prices will also, to a long extent, curb official corruption and impunity. Let's see if the government will seat idly and watch some few eggheads embezzle it's limited resources. A commodity that once sold at over $100 per barrel now goes for a little above $55! Infact the amount of money left to be embezzled is largely reduced.

The crashing oil prices may also force our thieves to pay more attention to our local refineries, as this may yield more profits than just selling the raw crude directly to the international at very low prices.

In every disappointment, there's some blessings. Let's take advantage of this slump and take more proactive steps. As an individual, I've taken some steps to curb financial recklessness as 2015 approaches.

He who fails to plan, has planned to fail.

Happy Xmas in advance, and a prosperous New Year to all Nairalanders.
I pity you and my fellow Nigerians. I hope you know that as oil fortunes dwindle, they'll turn their attention to the money in our pockets aka "IGR". We are about to enjoy an increase in taxes and levies to support this corrupt government. Once this clueless government can't feed off its oil revenues, it will start to feed on its citizens.
PoliticsRe: Reuben Abati Releases Wikileak's Secret Documents On Buhari by Rainmaker69(m): 2:18am On Dec 19, 2014
Classified By: Consul Alan B. C. Latimer for reasons 1.4 (B) and (D)

1. (C) Summary: Bayelsa State Governor Goodluck Jonathan's studied loyalty to his predecessor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, his humility, and his comparative honesty (by Nigerian standards) are reportedly reasons President Obasanjo chose him as Umaru Yar'Adua's vice presidential running mate.
Jonathan claims Ijaw ethnicity and the support of prominent Ijaws, but recent attacks on Government House and his family
home while Jonathan was in residence show deep fissures in his south-south support. Jonathan's advisors fear Yar'Adua, who reportedly has not had a close relationship with his deputy governors, will treat Jonathan similarly. End Summary.

-----------
FAMILY LIFE
-----------

2. (C) A native of Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government area of Bayelsa State, Goodluck Jonathan comes from a humble social background. He was born November 20, 1957 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ebele Jonathan. Family sources disclosed Jonathan displayed maturity and responsibility in his conduct
as a child. These attributes earned him the nickname "Azikiwe" by his paternal grandmother who saw in him leadership qualities similar to late southeast statesman
Nnamdi Azikiwe who championed the cause of Nigeria's independence.

3. (C) Jonathan is married to Patience Faka Jonathan, said to have a more forceful personality than her husband. A source in Bayelsa said Mrs. Jonathan "runs her own show and the husband has little or no control over her." She is said to have tremendous influence over Jonathan and his administration. In September 2006, the Economic and Financial Crimes commission (EFCC) seized USD 13.5 million from Mrs. Jonathan at an airport. Reports indicated the money was laundered through an associate; Jonathan managed to distance himself from the deal. The anti-graft commission
investigating the source of the money has reported no findings to date. Although Jonathan's name was on the 2006 list of governors accused of corruption, he has not been publicly charged.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Oil Workers Are Not Going On Strike Nation-Wide - NUPENG President by Rainmaker69(m): 7:53pm On Dec 15, 2014
wiseguy:
Some us need to understand the issue here very well. Companies have rights to transfer their staff but this case was an act of victimization. Secondly, when a staff is elected as Union representative, you cannot transfer the staff out of the branch or zone he or she was elected. Once, any company agrees that the union should exist in the company, the company is expected to abide by some of these agreements. Its part of the union/management agreement. Again, Total showed there hand by asking Mrs Elo to take leave of absence thereby showing thereafter that the transfer is not motivated by any work requirement but to render her ineffective as the Zonal secretary of the union. Now Mrs Elo did not refuse to take the leave of absence but since this is the first time such thing will come up in d zone the modalities needs to be worked out bw d parties. But b4 d scheduled date for a meeting, Total issued her a sack letter. So there are events that culminated to the present situation. Its not just now. That the strike is coming now is most unfortunate and I personally would hv preferred d union waits till after xmas. Pengassan position is dat other companies might want to toe the same line and b4 u know it all elected officials are transfered out of d zone they were elected. There r serious intrigues in all pengassan election. Companies sponsor candidates n when there candidates fails election, they resort to other means including forcing a re-election by removing whoever they don't want thru this means (transfer) and making sure their man wins. That is why pengassan has such agreement that an elected member cannot be transfered outside d branch or zone once elected.
We understand that there are intrigues. The issue is how does this affect Nigeria or a section of the country. There are avenues for resolving these disputes. There's National Industrial Court, Industrial Arbitration Panel, the Ministry of Labour has several dispute resolution mechanisms. Why should these unions choose to hold us all to ransom by going on strike? Why involve the country in this private matter?
They have turned us into pawns in their own chess game. Have they fought for deregulation of the industry? Have they fought to secure an increase in operating capacity of our refineries? Have they fought for the building of more refineries?
What is the value of these jokers to Nigerians? Are we just leverage they use to squeeze out better working conditions for their members?
Those are the issues.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Oil Workers Are Not Going On Strike Nation-Wide - NUPENG President by Rainmaker69(m): 4:22am On Dec 15, 2014
If this is true then I am disappointed in these unions. Why should they think they can hold the whole country or a section of the country to ransom over a private employer/employee dispute. Instead of going to court, they are inflicting hardship on others. Next time Nigerians won't take them seriously.
This is unfortunate. I expect more people to speak out.

TV/MoviesRe: Lg Led Tv Vs Samsung Led Tv Products: Which Would You Recommend? by Rainmaker69(m): 1:23am On Nov 13, 2014
Both LG and samsung have good products. I have 2 flat screen tvs. 1 LG and 1 Samsung but I prefer the LG to the samsung though the samsung is bigger and more expensive.
Asides the technical features (which you can find in their ads and manuals), you're going to want to conveniently connect other devices to the tv. Make sure it has enough inputs and outputs. HDMI, usb and audio outputs.
Samsung tvs usually don't have great audio output options. This may affect compatibility with your home theatre.
