FamilyRe: 10,000 Edo Girls Languish In Foreign Prisons by Rebarobyn: 11:20am On Aug 04, 2009
brein:
I feel for those girls. How sad. But its a pity Nigeria has little or nothing to offer them.
Italy doesn't have anything to offer them either, neither does the UK, USA or any other country for that matter, we've seen what most of our folks do in all these countries to make ends meet. We are enslaved by an inferiority complex which makes us think anything that is not Nigerian and is with white people is better and so we do anything to leave Nigeria even if it means we'll go to places like Italy where their unemployment and poverty levels are higher than that of Nigeria. Really, someone who is uneducated, what kind of job do you think you'll do in a country like Italy? Even our graduates go out there and humiliate themselves doing nasty and/or illegal work, working three jobs a day, something they will never agree to do in Nigeria because of nonsense ego, abeg, we need mind liberation.

I don't feel any pity for them, many of them and their parents knew what they were going to do in Italy before they left, its their choice. They should deport them and let them come and use all that effort they used in Italy in Nigeria. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Countrygirl had gone to bed late trying to decide on what to wear, she had eventually decided to wear something quite simple. The following day, she was unusually up very early, time seemed to be crawling but eventually it was 1p.m and then she called him to say she was on her way to his place. She looked at herself in the mirror over and over again before leaving the house trying to make sure she didn't create a negative impression. She drove for about 20minutes and arrived at his address with much ease and rang the bell, she could smell an aroma of spicy food, typical of African dishes. About 10 seconds later, he opened the door, she was a sight to behold, he stared at her with awe, she looked so different from the frustrated lady he had met at the bar the night before. She was wearing a sleeveless fern silk gown, her face glowed and she smiled brightly. She said "hello, its nice seeing you in daylight", they both laughed as he guided her to his lounge. His apartment was small but he undoubtedly had some taste, his furniture looked expensive, he had black leather settees. He asked her to take a sit and give him a few more minutes, he was just about to finish up the cooking. The season finale of prison break was being aired on Fox so Countrygirl sat down to watch, she was a prison break fan. He excused himself and went to the kitchen,

Her spirit became lifted and she had a second thought about her suicide intentions, maybe there's more to this life than that jerk of a boyfriend I had and that backstabbing best friend of mine, this guy sounds interesting. So she asked him, "so what are your plans for the rest of the weekend?". He said nothing was on his schedule and they planned to meet at a popular restaurant the following afternoon for lunch.

P.S. please keep your clothes on guys, lol

Story:

There was this man name Akinlabi (age 30 something), he woke up one morning feeling odd. The night before him and his friends were having a discussion about life. Akinlabi became worried because his life was not yet together. For he was missing something. He had all the girls he wanted, the job was ok, he liked living in America. So what was it? For the whole day he could not shake this worry. So he,

Story Continued:
decided to take a walk to the bar. While he was asking the bar tender for a drink, he saw a lady sitting all by herself with a cocktail, he stared at her and she stared back. He thought to himself, "I guess she's alone too", so he walked up to her and asked if he could sit next to her, she was quite warm and she allowed him sit next to her. After about 2 minutes of silence, he introduced himself to her and after much skepticism, she also introduces herself as "countrygirl". They chatted up for the most of the night and during the course of the conversation, he found out that she had just been dumped by her boyfriend of 6 years who had been cheating with her best friend and she was contemplating suicide. He felt so much pity for her and so he,

why can't people be seen as people, why do they have to be a representative of a tribe.

I'm sure if Tinubu had done something good, he won't be seen as Yoruba, then he'll be a Nigerian.

shame on all you prejudiced unexposed haters, please emancipate your brains!

yuo lack knowledge and will soon perish
haba, this is exactly what we are saying, because the guy quoted a verse and is trying to make meaning out of it, you have condemned him to perish, you need to check yourself, who made you judge over men. the bible is the sword we are given by God and no man can override it by words that are not contained in the bible.

I totally agree, we Christians are brain-washed easily, we should question our leaders, what is the tithe collected used for, is all of it used in accordance to what God said (for the needy, widows and destitute)?,  the first fruit, what forms the basis for it? we should ask questions, it doesn't mean we don't have faith or we are rebellious, it only means we are guarding our souls and double-checking if we are in the right path,

you should apologize may kelly

TravelRe: Travelling To Greece by Rebarobyn: 2:30pm On Aug 03, 2009
Do not be deceived, there is nothing out there. To start with, a Nigerian degree is not accepted anywhere outside Nigeria. Even if you say you want to do your masters' there, you will need to pay fees and bills, you will do unimaginable jobs when you become desperate (This is why many Nigerians are involved in drugs, prostitution and scams). Greece is mainly white dominated, not too friendly to blacks, they are suspicious towards an average black man.

If you can use the "hustling spirit" you want to use in Greece here in Nigeria, I'm sure you'll break through somehow but if there is anything I'm sure of, it is the fact that life outside Nigeria is tough and rough, save your ticket money and use it to start something small in Nigeria. Be wise!

Deut 26: 12 When you have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.
Most times, scriptures are quoted in verses with the preceding and subsequent verses ignored and in actual fact, you need to have an idea of the whole thing to deduce its intended meaning. But the truth is that we all revere God, his prophets and everything that concerns him and we dont want to appear as dissenters or rebellious but I think God himself wants us to probe and look deeper into things

I actually did not know tithes were meant for the fatherless, widows, levites and aliens and now this verse makes me question if churches actually use tithes for this purpose, I can hardly see anything Nigerian churches are doing in terms of reaching out to the society, these days its about getting more church members and money instead of reaching out to the needy and the destitute. we must re-trace our steps and do the right thing.

He thinks because he owns DAAR he is a god, he doesn't even have shame, he can find time to type an sms and he's even cursing the poor woman. what a big shame, he should just bear in mind that no one knows tomorrow, that wealth that he thinks has made him a god can disappear in a day, God dey!

As good as the American economy is, aren't there prostitutes, strippers and escorts, If kokomansion were to be done in New York, I promise you, there will still be thousands at the audition, so this ain't about economy or govt., it boils down to what the society accepts and our values wink.

we cant keep blaming the govt for everything, viewers determine what is aired on TV, if the show doesn't have popular viewing, there will be no sponsors and the producers will not be able to keep up with expenses and eventually, it will no longer be aired.

For what its worth anyway, rita is worth watching.

There is no need to hide anything, if it is true, the general public deserves to know the truth, it has nothing to do with professionalism, this is the problem in nigeria and this is why corruption strives, we like to cover things that needs to be in the public eye. All those banks that went into distress during the consolidation, if the CBN had made sure they all have an open policy, we would have known of their problems. this was why it was easy to manage the whole GM USA saga sensibly.

Honestly, I don't want to believe the criteria thing of outside mails and browsing during office hours but I know Nigerian employers can be very cruel, they fire without substantive reasons, severance pay or notice, afterall nobody will call them to order, govt is in disarray.

Now NLC cant fight for these people because private employers used a very smart tactic of paying and taking care of their employees so they don't join unions, now they've shown the devil in them, old-school unions have their benefits sometimes.

the ego video?, Beyonce keeps recycling the whole swim suit attire and single ladies moves thingy, she's talented but at times I have the feeling all she does in her videos is just body/butt flaunting, nothing more, but I love her music, me think she's the best diva so I'd say HOT!
