Abuzola:hey please go back to you boko-haram/islamic threads where you people find it amusing to insult yourselves and others, we are having mature discussions on this topic and trying to learn from others, we are not insulting people here, abeg, carry your rude comments back to where you are coming from. @JeSoul & Ibkaye - I guess we can kiss and make up agreeing that we are all Christians and the just shall live by faith, what matters is our faith and as we seek God more and more each day, he'll help us understand his word and his ways. |
JeSoul:when the scriptures said we shall judge the world and the angels, I think it meant in the days of judgment and not in the present. But since you have taken your position on knowing people's hearts through their actions, I will speak no further so that we don't get this argument heated, we should be edifying one another, but one thing I just want to leave you with a few verses to guide you, Rom 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 1Co 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Be sure you aren't sinning while trying to judge others and assuming you know their intentions. |
JeSoul:I don't think I missed the point JeSoul, maybe I should state it more clearly - "I don't think anyone is in the position to judge anyone", what makes you so sure that his dancing was intended to seek attention or to make a joke, really, can you tell what's in a man's heart? things are not always what they seem my dear. Last I heard, only God knows the heart of men and I think we should desist from using our own perspectives to judge others and let God be the judge. and JeSoul, how is his dancing different from David's dancing? did David not go out to his courts and dance naked in front of the entire city and his servants, couldn't anyone have just assumed he was making a joke or a fool of himself just as his wife did, how is it different please? |
JeSoul:I don't see anything wrong in it but we all see things from different angles. but really I just wanted to know why you thought it was foolish, I mean, I've been to a number of pentecostal churches in Nigeria and people can really get excited and dance their hearts out with no harm intended, I mean, I thought rejoicing was about letting go but I also understand people come from very conservative churches like deeper life or catholic but it doesn't mean anyone is right or wrong. |
JeSoul:what's wrong with his dancing? what makes it qualify as foolish? what makes the place not a true church? why do people feel the need to use their own ideology and opinions to judge others? people get overjoyed at times and they are allowed to express it, David did the same in the bible and danced almost naked praising God, in the same way you have condemned this man, David's wife thought in her heart that he was foolish and guess what, God sealed her womb and made her barren, so choose your words carefully lest you bring evil upon yourself! |
ifyalways:well, I don't think I'm interested in being a mod but if I were one, I would show some restraint. but the point is not about me, its about the manner in which some mods conduct themselves on NL, how can you swear at people in one forum and then try to play moderator in another. no need to over-flog the issue, what I'm just saying is that Seun himself needs to keep a close eye on his moderators, a moderator should be able to command some respect but if your manners are no better than that of other forumites, then whats the point? |
ifyalways:whether you see them as forum leaders or not, it doesn't change the fact that they are a selected few chosen to maintain order, are they not mods for a reason? if those that are supposed to maintain order cannot be orderly themselves then may be they shouldn't be mods and may be we shouldn't even have mods, may be all of us should appear as forumites and be dis-orderly and not be under the illusion that there is a moderator (who is mostly out of control). i.e Yaradua is president, he is still human but because he is president certain levels of behavior are inexcusable, same applies here. |
I so agree, Rita is the only entertainment I look forward to, she is comedy in human form, lol, but unfortunately we know she can't win, her confidence is typical of the Edo people, very bold and outspoken. |
ewwwwwwww, that's nasty, whats she doing to herself? starving or arm liposuction, its so unattractive, these celebrities sha, I wonder what goes on in their brains |
I watched that clip of her presentation over and over again and it just keeps getting better, the problem is not just her being unexposed, she tries too hard to be like the other girls so she ends up looking ridiculous. I also do not believe she's a graduate, I think she's just one of those people who lie about going to school, did you guys see the dance/choreography they did in the house? madam rita was hillarious as usual, lol |
I tire o, honestly all these chaos at times forces me to want to say everybody should go back to where they are from and lets just split the country and go our separate ways for the sake of peace but then innocent people who have stayed in these places all their lives will suffer. If they don't want western education, no problem, let them stay ignorant but why on earth would someone think of forcing their own beliefs on another, this is religious bullying and it is unacceptable, |
people differ, not all igbos are money conscious and not all yorubas are respectful, its about finding the right person |
I agree a lot of 1st and 2nd class degree holders cannot defend their degrees but the point is third class degree holders never even get the chance to prove themselves because they are never shortlisted. But nothing is impossible, you must start small by small, I think at some point, your experience overrides whatever qualification you had from school. Just start with whatever job you get first no matter how small the pay is, in the end maybe your experience will bail you out. |
is this picture for real or its been modified because why are her arms looking like that and her neck and face look pretty normal, it looks like a picture fraud to me ![]() |
what happened to the indian guy in the last few seconds that made him jump off the chair like that ? ![]() |
well I don't know the role of moderators since I am not one but common sense suggests that they are supposed to maintain order and civility in discussions. I joined NL a few weeks back and I observed that some moderators don't act like the "big brother (or sister)" they should be. Instead, they stir up and fuel intense abusive and very vulgar arguments. I think moderators are leaders and should behave as such, anyone found acting less should be stripped of their functions and reverted to regular members otherwise they would not be respected. |
the problem is that most people who travel abroad come back home and give the impression that its a gold mine any where outside Nigeria. they should start saying the truth about the dirty and illegal things they do and Nigerians should stop worshiping money, we only respect the rich, not the hardworking and noble, what a shame! |
Good-day panel of judges, accurate time-keeper, my co-debaters, ladies and gentlemen, mummies and daddies, my name is rebarobyn from NL primary school and I am here to oppose the motion that men take the heaviest part in a relationship by proving that women have a fair share of the troubles too: 1. we have to live with a monthly menstrual cycle which at times lasts up to 5-6days (men have no idea how uncomfortable and painful it can be) 2. we have to deal with men's animalistic sexual behaviour, men think we must just be ready when they are (how selfish) 3. carrying a pregnancy for nine months is no joke, btw, on the average, Nigerian women have at least 3 children 4. if you've witnessed a childbirth live you wont even post this topic, do you know we get cut and stitched without anesthetics because of that baby whose head is big mostly because they take after their father 5. weaning and bringing up the child is something else with the woman doing most of the work, and the men still expect us to get a job and support the family financially. 6. and the worst of it all is that most men end up cheating and we have to deal with it and be forgiving because of what people will say and because of the children, afterall its cool for a guy to cheat and a woman is a "slut" if she does the same. I hope with these points I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that men do not take the heaviest part in a relationship, thank you. ![]() |
Kingsaf, I hope this your story is not a fluke like winnergal's mills&boon stories otherwise I'd be cross that you made me waste my time responding ![]() You aren't a jealous wreck, I think its okay to feel jealous about your partner's feelings about some other dude as long as you don't get paranoid, over-protective, abusive or violent; honestly, if my partner doesn't feel jealous, I'd doubt if he really loves me. It is however more disturbing to know that this "Rob" is a Hollywood star who doesn't even know she exists. We girls at times act crazy over these celebrities and google their names all the time but it ends there, that's the point where you separate reality from fantasy. Writing stories about her sexual fascinations about this guy is "being unfaithful", she's simply cheating on you! I'd advise you to have a very open and honest conversation with her and give her an ultimatum to deal with it and make a choice between you and her fantasies, if she chooses you, then you must lay ground rules and work out things between yourselves, good luck! |
na wa o! |
TheSeeker:lol, she has no idea a thread of controversy has begun concerning her, she's in for a big shock. |
michelin89:@michelin89, just as you are a non-christian, I am proudly a christian and I have every right to air my views, its a public blog ![]() and for your information, the only reason why I commented on what you said was because you said "where there is love there is no sin", if you don't want to go religious, then you shouldn't have mentioned "SIN", you should have just said virginity means nothing to you but please don't twist things and then say something else the next moment. No one is imposing religion on you, if you don't like it, stay away, don't try and embrace it on one side and then twist it on the other. you also seem to be a very bitter person, take things easy pls. |
what a shame, a big opportunity just wasted like that because of our recklessness and corruption, it must have been painful for those kids, |
OMG, she's so busted, nice research though! |
being a virgin is dignity and something to be proud of, but it doesn't make you a saint, its all in the heart & your motives. Some are virgins because they haven't found the right guy and they would gladly have sex once they find their fairy-tale prince. some however do it out of self-respect and the fear of God (now that's a genuine intention). and to the person saying "where there is love there's no sin", please don't twist things for selfish reasons, pre-marital sex isn't morally right and it is sin (if you want to look at it from a religious angle), if you are not a virgin, its okay and not the end of the world, no one is judging you (shit happens) but don't comfort yourself in lies. |
pamelaB:My point exactly, it should happen NATURALLY, people should not be given a one-way guideline on how to live their lives, I think we have a problem in this society where people think they can tell others what to do and that one formula works for all, IT DOESN'T - people are different, circumstances differ and ideally couples should do things together but it may not work like that for everyone because trust levels, intimacy and love are on varying degrees. People should just quit trying to live other people's lives for them, live yours! |
keyremotes:Imagine you have a sister whose husband is a spendthrift and she refuses to let him have access to her money because of this, would you say she is not following God's commandment? It is easier for you men to talk like this because that's what you do - shift responsibilities! I have a sister whose husband used to collect the earnings from her business from her workers and he would say he was keeping it to restock the business, she never saw the money until this man killed that business. After then he would refuse to bring his own salary home under false pretenses and she still had to bear the responsibility of paying most of the bills including the children's fees. Now Mr. Keyremotes, I don't need to be married to see that most men are very selfish and each case has to be treated based on the circumstances. Being married doesn't make you wiser than a single person, you can never have the answer to it all! and I still maintain my stand that oneness is not about money and material things, it is in the heart, in faithfulness and in love. If the love is true, all other things including sharing will genuinely follow. You don't have to force anyone by telling them what they should do (i.e losing their identities). |
Awowom:I told you that guy isn't worth the trouble, congrats on a new chapter in your life my dear, you'll get over him sooner than you think, trust me, but this time around, be more careful and wise, be patient and when you eventually decide to date again, be sure to go for a guy who really loves and respects you, take your time, no rush, just take your time,, I wish you the best and may God order your steps to the right man. |
amarilo:In Nigeria, people pay broadcasters and magazines to cover their weddings and make it "a society function". Nigerians like to show-off and prove some stupid points. Its in our nature, we worship money, popularity and affluence, that's why we do anything to get rich. As far as I know, magazines like Ovation get paid to cover weddings, birthdays and funerals, same applies to private TVs. But the point is it requires consent and DORA AKUNYILI consented to it! |

because why are her arms looking like that and her neck and face look pretty normal, it looks like a picture fraud to me
