The Super Eagles of Nigeria found the back of the net against Ivory Coast a few minutes into the first half as Troost Ekong converted a beautiful corner kick by Lukman into a goal.

They returned in the second half to a shocking surprise from the Ivory Coast players as they equalized just a few minutes into the second half of the game.

The Ivory Coast players went on to score a second goal, sealing their victory and becoming the champions in the 2023 AFCON final.

Unfortunately, the Super Eagles of Nigeria couldn't make any impact until the final whistle blew, losing the AFCON final to Ivory Coast with a score of 1-2. So, it's official: Ivory Coast is the winner of the 2023 AFCON match.

And of course, as you can see, what followed was heavy celebration by the Ivorians and supporters.

Congratulations to Ivory Coast. Enjoy your celebration. We are still very proud of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. It was a beautiful competition, and there are no hard feelings.

Though I had a dream that they scored us in less than 10 minutes into the match because of a silly mistake from our players.

However, we were playing and dribbling them so much that the crowd were cheering the super Eagles and hailing them them all through.

Governor Adeleke of Osun State was filmed watching the Nigeria Super Eagles play against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa yesterday in the AFCON semi-final. The Super Eagles team was captured in wild jubilation with their fans after clinching victory at the AFCON Semi-final match against the South African team. In the short video, the crowd could be heard chanting "Osimhen" as the Super Eagles advanced towards them in celebration.

Despite the security team forming a barricade to prevent the players from getting closer to the fans who were hailing them, the players pushed through the human barricades and marched towards the crowd to celebrate with them.

Undoubtedly, the Nigerians deserve this celebration. It was a serious and tough match that ended in a penalty shootout, with the Super Eagles emerging as the winners with a 4-2 victory.
