They literally have everyone's fingerprints in Nigeria on a platter; offenders and nonoffenders because fingerprints are required to register a cell phone. All they have to do is liaise with the phone companies and create a central database of the fingerprints of all cell phone owners in the country. Owners consents will obviously not be required in a lawless country.

The one caught for stealing milk the other time said she was stealing for a hungry baby but no baby was attached to her body. It was discovered she is also a serial thief that has been warned like this one. She is single and has no child but lied her baby was hungry hence stealing 3 packets at once. Someone's salary should have gone for that if she had escaped, put yourself in that shoe, paying for what you didn't eat.

There is no way you can see differently, your mindset seems static and made up to punish every offender without really giving it a holistic consideration of what could have driven a person to commit such crime. You are most probably a rose that grew from concrete like most Nigerians and does not see the need to be considerate and empathetic towards others and just because you been through hell and succeeded as you may like to think means everyone should do the same. Otherwise, you are a politician or corrupt public servant offspring that live off the sweat and blood of the long-suffering people and can never imagine the hellish conditions they have to endure in their lifetimes.

Most Nigerian are living in abnormal situations as a result of rogue leadership and a dysfunctional system that is unproductive and unprotective of her citizens, so there are bound to be victims like her that will resort to petty criminality to survive. They need help, not a punishment because anybody that steals food or petty household items has a fundamental problem.

The complaint on nigerians here feeling that you must send money to them doesnt only apply to nigerians in diaspora. It also applies to nigerians that they feel are doing well here. I'm also posting to fault some of the things I've seen here. First, there's no where in the world where you pay 60% of your pay as tax. The highest I've seen is between 48-52% in some places in Europe and it applies to some levels of income. They run a progressive tax system in most European countries. Secondly, one can send money to someone abroad from Nigeria and ive done it a few times. Not everyone abroad have things going rosy for them.
Then, i want to ask nigerians in diaspora two questions. First, why do most nigerians that have been abroad for a while think everyone else living here in nigeria are never-do-wells and most of them tend to shun their nigerian friends? Secondly, what should be one's net income in nigeria for that person to abandon the idea of travelling abroad?I asked this last question because some of the friends I had while in the university and that are in the US now are asking me why I'm not making any efforts to come over and i usually tell them I'm wondering why I have to.

You dont need to travel abroad if you have a feasible, attainable and sustainable vision in Nigeria. It is virgin land that is fill of unsurpassable opportunities for those that can see ahead.

Whiteman's land, on the other hand, is saturated with very limited opportunities for a eureka moment for a black man who can only do much in a land where he remains a second class citizen, even 4th class, no matter what he does.

If you are hanging on in African, keep doing your best to improve circumstances because in a rational situation, the only way is up. Home is the best.

The country is still in predator-prey mode. It is not done anything at all to structure and maximises its agricultural production potentials.

Most oyinbos hunt for game or need to satisfy their thirst for a creature's blood to be spilled, but Africans primarily hunt for food and daily bread because agriculture and farm animals domestication is still in a very primitive and scant stage.

Justifiable to steal? How many times have you stolen from people before? Why do you lock your house when going out instead of you opening it down for hungry people to steal? Do you know it is the sales' girls' salaries used to pay?
So, you go and work somewhere from morning till night for a whole month without being paid because of missing items and you can call it justifiable stealing?
People that run after vehicles to sell water, drinks etc are they mad, are they well fed or they don't know how to steal?

I remember trying to steal a loaf of bread from a local provision shop as a young when my mum starved me for one or two days for throwing away a dish I didn't like with disgust. It was brown beans, and I was looking forward to rice on the menu that hot afternoon, so I got mad.

I was caught and reported to my parents, you can imagine how dreadful that was, but luckily my father partially blamed my mum for starving me, so i escaped serious lashing.


A hungry man is an angry man.. And most Nigerian are hungry not because they are self-destructively lazy, but because the system works against them from birth. For every action, there is a cause and reaction. That is why it is not good to beat children too because by doing so you teach them to be violent, troubled and irrational.

It is justifiable to steal when you are desperate and hopeless. Most Nigerians acts of stealing are justifiable because of the inhumane positions the so-called leaders have placed them. Only greedy thieves like the politicians should be punished, not their victims like the lady in question..

Development can't happen in a society without a systematic land structured learning order. The whole country lacks the fundamental knowledge of what it means to be humans and how to move from one stage to another in humans development. The government is a reflection of the people and vice versa. There won't be any easy way out of the vicious circle until the fundamental orientation of the people changes and that will basically mean the rejuvenation of common sense.

This is technically a war against discipline with benefits, and earnest it is the way out of living like animals and freeing up the minds to think rationally and creatively. There should be a culture of the dignity of labour which will encourage people to work their way up to the position they truly deserve.

Jobs come from the surroundings and taming Nigerian surroundings and bringing it up to even 20th-century standard is worth trillions of dollars.
