Three matches, 16 goals.... what excitement..... |
Its 3-3..... then 4-3.... what a match...... the Premiership is it.......wow... |
Na wa..... No free food anywhere for those calling it a farmers league. Said it. Spurs v City.... a blockbuster..... headlined by crazy play, spectacular goals..... and of course the regular ref gaffe.... all making the Prem the league of no equal.... ![]() |
Amumaigwe:Apt. The mystery of our time. The bane of the Negro...... who cannot relate his acts with his experiences. |
...crabs in a Some trying to mentally get the hell out while others are desperately justifying why they should remain 'as you were', ready for the ice bucket and onto the restaurant fryer....hahahaha. Sentiment is a very powerful thing. The thinking of a man that envisions his liberty or otherwise can remain even till death. It appears in this case no amount of suffering can elevate the thinking of the average Nigerian and bring him to the point where the legendary prodigal son said to himself, enough is enough. |
HateBigots:Indeed. There is no one who can stand and boldly say Nigeria of today is anywhere near how it was when the ruling party took over in 2015. If democracy is about development and quality of life, it remains a mystery why any sane person will wish to continue with this government after 8 years of misrule. A group of people that fought tooth and nail to retain subsidy in 2012, only to blame it for all the present ills of the country in an 'awakening' moment a decade later are people that are either hopelessly unintelligent or seriously unprincipled. And yet Nigerians take them seriously. We are paying dearly for not thinking and acting objectively despite serial warnings and clear evidence they lack the capacity to lead this country up and out. |
None, absolutely none looks appetizing to folks who are picky about what is on their plates. Presentation remains a challenge in these parts. I think our culinary culture needs more publicity to draw the kind of critique that improves standards and perhaps attracts patronage beyond our shores and a mention on the maps and tour brochures in parts unknown. |
Chai, what a goal..... 2-0. Geometry in motion. |
Arsenal..... lift off! Saka on the board. Great goal. |
I have said it times without number on this platform. Details, details, details, details, details.... is the loose nut that has led to the grounding of the Nigeria project. Details is basically what differentiates a professional from a quack, a knowledgeable, values based society from one that has no standards, where everything goes. 'We will create 1 million jobs.....'. how? 'We will cut the deficit...' how? 'We will attract foreign investors....how? 'We will generate revenue.....how? Nothing is studied in detail, thrashed for a solution and planned well in detail for execution.... nothing. It is all done on the fly, off the cuff, wherever belle face (as per the local parlance) so that the elements that make for solutions can be manipulated for self serving ends. A government that is prepared to serve should study for an interview that is called election campaigns and the electorate votes in the best, the most prepared candidate to execute what has been presented. In this part of the world we employ applicants that have not a clue about what they intend to do, and then ask them to sit for examinations to qualify to be employed....who does that..... and expects a better country, a prosperous nation. |
FalseProphet1:Na so. So much for the so called 'intelligent' people every one of us claims to be but it doesn't reflect in the life experience as a typical citizen. When our kind of democracy is all about 'winning' elections only to be at sea when the time for governance arrives, this is the consequence. You can shout and scream for a doctor all you like but it is your aliment that determines what kind of doctor you need. Nigerians are yet to realise exactly what their problem is that is why they stumble from one incompetent leader to another. |
superCleanworks:And pain will contunue until a reaction is triggered and the right things done. Nothing, absolutely nothing works well of its own accord anywhere in the world. The societies admired today were crafted to be exactly that, by citizens who were tired of desperate living. But here we are satisfied with mediocrity and the liability of bad leadership..... so. In sane societies there are codes of practice amongst law enforcement on every matter of conduct. There is a code for armed conflict, including for discharging a weapon, there is a code for arrests and there is even a code for pursuits. Fall foul and it becomes a civil or criminal matter. Here who cares. And yet we are satisfied, calling this aberration good governance. So let us wail for a while, post the usual RIP's and then move on to the next, the latest misery. A people that cannot translate their electoral franchise into a successful and prosperous communal existence in an entity called a country are not worth the consideration. |
I knew Gala will give ANY team a hard run in Istanbul but this United team was poor, very, very poor. A lot of those players need to be let go. There are far too many average players in a title or trophy seeking team. |
Onana was never as bad as this at Inter..... is it the tap water at Old Trafford?... ![]() |
ecolime:I think he is the best indigenous African coach at the moment. |
I am sure they will be sitting round a table and thinking what would have been if they had not taken to Ojota to stop the fuel subsidy removal all those years ago.... despite the torrent of warnings of the calamity we see today. And then following up with an administration that was totally incompetent to handle the fallout but stood behind the finger of preventing social upheavals ensured a total meltdown of the nation. Today this country is so vulnerable that any minor global economic tremor such as another pandemic, another major conflict somewhere in a land far, far away may just completely crumble what is left. We brought ourselves here. That is the bottomline. |
The principal reason why I fled with a degree of finality all of 20 years ago. How can I awake by 4 am and return home by 9 pm everyday.... for what. Today, my commute is as sure and short the best google maps have to offer, the legendary '5 mins' with the symbol of an automobile. Did some tourism to the place about 4 years ago and nothing, absolutely nothing had changed despite all the talk of great governance. Well, perhaps it could have been worse, much worse. |
Good to see a number of industries are still alive and kicking after several decades of economic downturn. They are the real MVP's of the battles to keep the economy from total collapse. However if you look very closely at all the pictures the industrial lines appear pretty scanty and rudimentary and you cannot see the depth of a large workforce or the height of automation that makes for large scale production. And to be honest we need a lot, a lot more of such industrial complexes to make a dent on our imbalance of international trade and domestic production of a whole slew of things we presently import. I continue to insist that government stands too far from industry. And I feel they should be more hands on in helping these industries input, throughput and output by integrating all factors of production and all aspects of commerce within Nigeria first before venturing abroad. Government's responsibility does not end with seeking investors, but in ensuring even the local ones succeed and thrive. For example when was the last time a high level trade mission was dispatched to our neighboring west African countries, (at least where we have a lot of influence) to sell our industrial products so that the much needed foreign exchange is earned ground up. |
Are they still fighting this war.... haba. The casualties must be staggering by now. Both sides should sit down and start thinking and talking. |
Peter Fregene by a country mile. Emmanuel Okala comes second in my opinion. After that it has been a downhill slide ever since with Bozo the Clown between the sticks these days.... ![]() |
AK481:Sounds like that.... like. 'don't bother to come to us, we will just buy and send whatever you need to you, just book with our reps there so your visa cries are not really justified'..... |
Angelfrost:May not be connecting well with the new gaffer. He is a very good player..... just seems not motivated since the season started.... apart from the injury lay-by. |
It is possible that his stint in the French Lique 1with PSG softened Poch. Cannot believe that he will tolerate this kind of this this long. He may have lost the touch in his Spurs hey days. |
TechBaron:About a billion..... allegedly.... over the latest windows... Jackson should be returned to the shop as a counterfeit product and a refund demanded. |
For me, I simply cannot see the one billion pounds spent on this Chelsea squad over the past two seasons. It is simply not there. |
obaidan:His body language since the beginning of the season indicates he wants out. The guy just looks disinterested in playing proper football. |
Chelsea is gradually becoming a mid table meandering team. |
Paraman:Jackson is not a striker.... yet to discover his profession. |
Thiago my man.....maybe its time to retire..... |
The bottomline of everything in Nigeria is tribe. The atomic particles holding the Negro to his tribe are far too strong to form any other complex society successfully. Unfortunately this is a prerequisite for development. For there is nothing of substance anywhere in existence that comprises of a singular element thoughtless of particles. |
Bliss62:Health Insurance. Cash transactions even for things as important as life and death is just living a primitive life. |
We should be 'patient' with the present administration just like Nigerians were urged to be patient with the former administration throughout its eight locust years and so they went ahead to wreck the economy. Patience in their lexicon and that of their fanatics is to shut up and keep quiet about their misgovernance only to wail after they have left office and left the country in tatters. A so called democratic system that cannot correct bad administration insitu, cannot stop bad policy midstream and cannot hold any of its operatives to account in their bad acts is useless to the country, period. |
