You just wonder how those on permanent medication will cope.
Where health insurance is ineffectual and limited and government interventions even worse.
Yet the irrational nature of the Nigerian will not let him kick against bad governance because of sentiment.
Dying yet hanging tight to useless pride.

Just passing. Said enough on this matter. In a few short months it will be one year of this administration.

Still, no cohorent strategy to get this country up and out of the rot. Having realized that the people they lead are have condemned themselves to bearing the burdens of leadership failure there is certainly no haste.

Nigerians just don't like accountability.... that is at all. But this is one of the pillars of democracy.... that is the ability to hold government to account consistently.

And when government, indeed leadership knows and understands this they are less likely to misappropriate resources. If such mechanisms are not there the chase for good governance will continue to be 'after the fact, after the act of misgovernance.

An enlightened and forceful citizenry is the one sure guarantee of good governance. Let us not remain a people who 'vote and forget'. No system in the world will deliver without scrutiny. Driving the nation to progress demands the citizens put their 'hands to the wheel' as diligently as a man drives an automobile.

Yes, the PDP had to go because it mismanaged governance for decades but part of the reason for that was impunity, the feeling that it was beyond correction, beyond reproach. It got so bad because the government was not 'democratically driven' by the people.

The LP candidate has sure started in a far better way and the changes made to government has been remarkable.
But if these changes are to last then the people of that state cannot afford to let the government a minute space. Because to err is so, so easy when power is absolute. Nigerians must learn that to love does not absolve from correction. Correction is part of success. Questions to further this matter MUST be asked.

Let us stop fighting one another as citizens on BASIC issues of accountability. The mixed signals it sends are the weed seeds of impunity.

Win, win, win elections is all they know how to do.
They have doctorates in winning elections but are completely at sea when it comes to governance.
Just look at the country they took over in 2015 and where it is now.
Complete shambles.
Not a single national issue solved, not a single sector has progressed.
But that is enough for their teeming supporters.

Every four years people rush to the polls to vote in new governments without a simple assessment of what their franchise was able to achieve or attain for them in the previous one.

They bring in government after government but nothing changes positively for them. They gain nothing from the democracy they claim to practice. That is the democracy they fight and insult each other for.

Shameful.

Now that the tap is turned off you have redefined the relationship.

There are very, very few people who will wish to continue a relationship on that basis.

Politics › Re: EFCC Releases Seven NAF Personnel Linked With Internet Fraud by Reference(m): 6:15am On Nov 18, 2023
But issues involving military peronnel and crime has never been handled by the civil criminal justice system and this is not just in this country.

The military has its own law enforcement departments which the EFCC should have worked with from the start of investigation.

If the individuals are then found guilty they can only be handed over after being dismissed from service.

The normal thing is to investigate first. Detention for interrogation is at the point of sufficient evidence to warrant such.

You just don't go about arresting military personnel and by so doing pulling them out of duty without the knowledge of their service. The implications are serious.

However the manner the Airforce acted is abysmal to say the least. And it is regretful that after 24 years of continual democratic governance they have not evolved mechanisms to save us from this kind of unsavoury drama.
Health › Re: New Drug Prices In Nigeria by Reference(m): 9:42pm On Nov 17, 2023
So the latest excuse for the situation in Nigeria is that there is inflation throughout the world.

Abeg, those who are apt at online research and the diaspora please post the prices of common/household goods and the prices of over the counter medications over the past two, three, five years for comparison and let us see just how well Nigeria has been doing under this mystical government that has been doing 'very well'.

The only thing I can say here is that.... told you folks.
Democracy 101.... DO NOT RETURN A FAILED GOVERNMENT TO POWER.

There are so many reasons for this, and the principal one is simple: the people will be taken for granted.
We can see the total lack of urgency in addressing the economic situation.
The people are just left with all expectation to ADAPT.

Any system that can readily yield 45 billion to thieves is the problem that calls for urgent concern.
Because it can be stolen again.

So the issue is not only about how or what was recovered but how it was stolen in the first place and what is being done to ensure it doesn;t happen again.

This is the difference between an advanced and a retarded society.
The difference between one that progresses over time as against one that regresses year after year.

The job of spokesman in Nigeria has degenerated to become one for the uncouth.

Somehow they feel that the more ferocious and unsavoury their counterattacks the better, knowing not that it indicates, reveals the temperature and pressure operating within those protected circles and the lack of calmness required for rational decision making amongst leadership.

Bros he has right to campaign for whomsoever he wants, election is over, it's time for national healing and building. Cheers
This is the problem.
A people that do not know HOW to organise themselves into a viable society.
Painful to see his situation but the bolded is EXACTLY why we are here.
And I call it what the statement portends, IRRESPONSIBILITY.

His 'right' (whether it is true who he did vote or not) has consequences.
Elections may be over but the consequences remain and may remain till the next time he has a choice to make.

We feel we can separate issues, take certain actions and have another life to experience something entirely different from the consequences. It will just not happen. Nigerians of all leanings must become diligent to know that only they can determine what they experience within a geo-political entity.

I don't vote, never have voted, have never seen a system in place to make me vote any party or candidate but I take full responsibility everyday for the situation in Nigeria because I feel I am not acting right or putting enough effort in doing right. So I find it utterly unimaginable that someone will say or think he can 'campaign for whomsoever he wants and after elections are over he can assume things will just begin to work right of their own accord.....

The man is complaining of inflation. Inflation did not fall from the sky. It is a direct result of leadership decisions founded on an ideology those who took the decisions believe and practice. And leadership is put there by you and I. So what do you want to heal and build on that sure foundation of leadership.

Not the best club for now but for the Blues it will be a 100% upgrade on Mr. Jackson.
But the biggest worry is that any transfer fee will be a record and this will weigh heavily on his shoulders in a league where the press does exactly that, neck pressing any laxity.

Yeah, Rudi Garcia was like placing ice cream in an oven but Walter Mazzarri is hardly the ideal replacement for the defending champion.
Italian teams and the Italian league remains a closed introverted system.

There are many, many competent and capable managers across Europe, even in lesser leagues that can replicate the success of the past season.

Mazzarri in my opinion is yesterday's news. It is like bringing back Rafa Benitez to coach Manchester City when Pep eventually decides to leave.

One, the huge gap in the size and more importantly the spread of tourism between both countries.
And even more telling, the gap between the sizes of the middle-class of both countries which for all intents and purposes is almost extinct in Nigeria.
