The only thing we do know is that we don't know how this tie will end. I still think City will go through but there are some things of City that concerns me and it is about their mentality which atimes looked fragile.... including Pep. |
EnterpriseMan:At this level and with the quality of both teams there is no home or away factor. |
Reference:He has woken. Good goal. Knew he was the key to City leaving with anything. |
KDB is a bit off colour today. |
Numerouno94:It's like you're new to this competition. Did you watch last year's edition. |
Still feel City will qualify but City have to be very, very careful. There is too much experience in this Real team, too many big time players that have seen it and done it all. Then the Don of all gaffers in the dugout. |
Kill, kill, kill...Nigeria, the graveyard of the world. Everything ends life here, planes, cars, clothes, washing machines, intellectual property....and 'strange birds'. What a dark, black, prehistoric place to be. |
mrvitalis:I am an advocate for subsidy removal, and gave been for a long, long time but the issues are clear. That it is government's failure to 'show' how the 'common man' will benefit from subsidy removal that has caused the apprehension and resistance. All government has been preaching is the dangers of continuing not the benefits of stopping. That is the issue And so the common man has said, 'let us die together since we cannot benefit together. And this is a clear indication of a nation that does not trust it's government. And this is because they have lied and lied and lied in the past without consequences. Many promises of better things with increase in energy costs have never materialized. As you alluded subsidies on AGO and DPK have been removed for more than a decade now, WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS. If we are saving probably trillions more we will have been spending on keeping diesel and kero prices cheap, where are they. Where are the savings...? Such will be the fate of Nigeria even if subsidies are removed. The savings will still not impact on the economy because those stealing in the name of subsidies will shift attention to the savings through bloated government, hyper inflated contracts, rent seeking, etc. The 'common man' sees cheap gasoline as HIS ONLY TANGIBLE BENEFIT of being a citizen of this country. He pays dearly for everything else. |
nedekid:The price of petroleum products is determined by international market forces of which Dangote is likely to subscribe to. Anything lower than that will require government throwing cash at him aka subsidies except if he will be sold crude at discounted rates creating another vicious cycle of corruption. |
flexyrule:Hahaha....maybe not after receiving Sunday praises.... might still be soft hearted. Say Friday when He's fed up with the damning news coming out of Naija all week and knowing the 'Friday night filth' at hand..... ![]() |
Iseoluwani:I think it is beyond him. It is about a system that is faulty. About institutions that are stumbling, about law and order that is being railroaded in the interests of a few, about processes and exercises that have been hijacked and held hostage. To get Nigeria working properly. So whether he wins or not is secondary. Agitation and the search for rights, justice and equity is like buying an umbrella that will shield all society. That the policeman who brutally and forcefully quells union protests for better conditions of service will not return the extra pay that comes his way when the agitation succeeds. People who kick against this man's quest fail to realize two things. That the democracy they enjoy today, the 5th republic was won by agitation and resistance to military rule. It was not given, it was demanded. How come they now root for oppression when the journey is still on and the destination, a plural, just, prosperous nation remains elusive. They have also forgotten that the present regime was born out of agitation. That the very election that brought it to power in 2015 is widely considered to be the best in the 5th republic and will not have happened if it was not demanded for by the present leadership. So what has happened, how come the oppressed then are now the oppressors today. How come those who benefited from a system evolving in the right direction are now champions of the proverbial 'two steps back.' |
God1000:Structure. It is a fundamental issue inherited from the colonists ensuring the leaders and led never meet at a point of equity, justice and solidarity. That the people remain subjugated, empoverished and dehumanized so that independent thought never arises but feudalism's strangle hold abides forever. All my grammar is simply summarized as: modern day slavery. They hate people who talk too much particularly against their system |
ALLNIGERIANSMAD:Well, as an enlightened citizen, now that you have 'heard' what happened, you should expect to 'know' what happened before boarding such a plane subsequently. That is your insulation against corruption or whatever you are insinuating. People rise and fall, live or die by what they know and how they react to it irrespective of what others do wrongly. When airlines are blacklisted and banned from the airspace of Europe or America it is not because such airlines have flown there or crashed there or killed or injured their nationals but because they hear news, watch out for institutional reaction and assess remediation efforts and when not satisfied they pull the trigger. Any individual can do that. No one forces anyone to buy a ticket. |
Hespee93:Well until the details are out as to what happened it is perhaps only safe to thank the pilots for survival. But 'praises' should go to the manufacturer, Boeing for making a sturdy aircraft that will take such punishment and perhaps abuse even at old age and remain faithfully in such relationship. As for the pilots they are expected to do a walk around each morning to inspect amongst other things the condition of the tyres....so? But again it could be FOD which will be FAAN's fault.....so? But we don't know yet so it is better to wait. |
That is 2 million naira worth of tyres gone not to talk of the damaged wheel assembly and other components gone just like that. The airline business is not for the faint hearted. They are lucky that these aircraft are built almost indestructible if not these incidents can easily lead to bankruptcies. But when you have only 3 aircraft in your fleet as reported wear and tear escalates and this is the result. Tyres are the first victims and the first shout out that you are overflogging the race horse. |
VinnyBaba:Na so. Selection between worse and worst. That is how 200 million people are led. And then the people think Nigeria will come out fine..... Never seen such concentrated ignorance. People who have barely survived an 8 year wilderness experience are subscribing for a return trip. |
Osimen off for Simeone. Commentry: Osimen is likely to become just the fourth player in modern times to win both the title and Capocannoniere after David Trezeguet, Andriy Shevchenko and the great Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Has already out gunned the mercurial George Weah. Osimen making history for himself. |
Victor Osimen scores a pen. Napoli leads. Damn the rain that robbed me of this match.... ![]() |
DSTv gone with the wind here. Thunderstorm in the nation's capital. |
The Gunners have awoken from early slumber to see that Newcastle is not invincible though they themselves are suspect at the back. Glad to see Odegaard now shooting instead of always seeking to run into the box. That change of tactic caught the Castle defence and keeper unawares for the opening goal. |
Arsenal's body language early on is poor. Second to every ball, like they've given up already..... |
IbileIfe:And in the same period 30 billion was stolen by one man, just one man alone. The EFCC is presently pursuing corruption cases involving serving and past appointees of this government worth several tens of billions more. What is the point..... Case of water into a basket.... aka basket case of a government. |
Just passing by. We told them in 2014/5 that by 2023 every one of them will be demystified. The man, his government, his party and all his supporters, the infamous 'sai babarians'.... how far. Nigeria got it wrong in 2015 electing a man with out capacity, simple. There were better options contesting the party's primaries but the desperation to win caused this all. Unfortunately it appears lightning has struck twice..... only in Nigeria..... ![]() |
Hahahaha.... I like the way Nigerians are being bombarded by inflation like uranium 235 with neutrons. Particularly when all the money collected by government will be stolen by the very same people they kick and scream to have appointed into office. 2023-27 will be a season of nuclear accidents in Nigeria.....hahahaha.... tax and |
There is nothing that I see here that has not been said time and again over the course of this administration so before passing by I wish to enjoy the comedy of the "Sai Babarians' that have turned evangelists after having their heads shaved..... ![]() |
ModCaller:Thy have won the title weeks ago.... when Arsenal could not beat Pool. |
....Sam Alardyce dey shalaye... |
Livingshadow:I first noticed this during the military administration of IBB. There was this popular saying about him keeping files like J. Edgar Hoover of the FBI, deep, dark secrets of public figures by which he could exert leverage and work his way to unparalled power. That IBB kept his ducks in a row that way, little surprised that to this day no one dare touch him or peddle the remotest rumour because tip to toe he has dirt on them all. This is the system we have industrialized, commercialized and institutionalized. This is the power system that has characterized the 5th Republic. That the dirtier you are the more acceptable you are to the establishment for one reason and one reason alone. You can and will be blackmailed from swearing in to retirement to do their bidding in any way, shape or form they desire. And knowing they hold the keys to your jail cell you will play ball, dance to their tune. I won't mind if this was some Director-General position in some MDA, but for the number three citizen to be this vulnerable, the game for Nigerians is over before it starts. We will experience another level of 'the storied rubber stamping in this administration perhaps like never before seen and the nation will certainly suffer for it. Anti democratic elements and the feudal system persisting that will not tolerate oversight, accountability, debate or alternate ideas will decide the fate of Nigerians these next four years if this endorsement or whatever becomes a reality. |
Summary of all that is wrong with Nigeria. People without issues stepping down for people that will not bother to stand or contest in sane societies due to the shame of felony. And Nigerians won't sit down and ask themselves why always lawless people ruling over them. They won't ask for the country to be restructured so that the cream rises to the top for only in Nigeria are the dregs fit for public consumption. |
The King (if he has such powers) should allow our society take root and be established by not involving himself in this. He should know through his emissaries that law and order is one of the principal problems in Nigeria without which we simply cannot develop. He should help us make the necessary sacrifices of whomsoever to ensure this nation survives. Today a person known for corruption, under investigation by institutions of law and order is being touted by a democratically elected President as the future leader of the Legislature and number three citizen of the country. A person expected to chair the making of laws and superintending over order in the nation. What better irony is there. And what is to say that if the man in question is pardoned, released and returns he will not assume such positions of power and influence in the short, medium or long term back here in Nigeria. And what message will that send to the hapless citizens of Nigeria and the onlooking rest of the world. Nigerians should not have any doubt as to the situation of the man in question. We cannot afford to have society divided on the basis of what is right and what is wrong. This dichotomy in values, in morals, sacrificed on all sorts of altars of sentiment is the reason whey we have remained third world over sixty years post independence. We have to establish a pan Nigeria value system in this country where every citizen subscribes to. Every Nigerian should be able to agree that this person or that action is right or wrong. Only then can we begin to build. The United Kingdom left our shores as sovereign 63 years ago. In that time they have made giant steps towards a prosperous and stable nation. King Charles should check back to what has become of the nation his mum left in 1960 and make it like the home she left in his hands last year. PS: If anyone doubts that we do not have a value system in Nigeria consider this. Since this man's arrest and trial has anyone in authority woken up to the issues in question? Have the administrators of Nigeria made any moves to bolster the dysfunctional healthcare system, established any new renal/urology facilities even if it for the elite in society, has it invested more in healthcare professionals?.... no. Rather more have left our shores since. What has the institution for which he was a member for decades and rose to become deputy done to pass any sort of legislation for the reasons he is in this mess or against the actions the man took in protecting the vulnerable in society...... none. For them it is business as usual, their medical tourism rights remain intact and the citizens the main victims are left arguing amongst themselves as to what is right or wrong..... |
Justice served, swift and sure. A nation that upholds the law. That is why they have the hospitals to do the procedure in the first place. The law created the order that attracts the third world. Unfortunately the third world wants the law cast aside. Well that is human nature, it desires to terra-form any environment is finds solace in. |
sonature1:Na waoh. What do we call this. The story of 2023-2027? The summary of system that simply cannot produce the best for the country. |
