kerry57:The same question I asked yesterday. Where is the proof. When was the last series of tests conducted on 'Indomie Nigeria' in the light of the Asian report particularly checking for the presence of carcinogens. They know Nigerians will not ask for details because we should trust government with our lives and well-being. |
No comment. We have said enough on this already. Nigeria does not have a security problem. When it does they will do the needful, restructure Nigeria and get the federating units to establish their own security architecture. In the meanwhile they can continue dancing around the fire. |
kennie2015:Oga, this is not how proper societies run. When airplanes fall out of the sky, when trains derail, when buildings fall, when pharma threatens health.... it is up to the authorities to investigate thoroughly and present the results of such investigations before the public in such a manner that will assuage fears and bolster confidence. We are so lean on details in this country that we suffer too much. No one knows what their country has been borrowing money for, no one knows who has benefited from social investment programs, no one knows how much the second Niger bridge cost, no one knows how much has been recovered as loot from past corrupt leaders, no one knows how much crude oil Nigeria exports, no one knows who owns the buses hired to bring Nigerians out of Sudan costing 1.2million dollars, no one knows the health status of our leaders.... Nigerians know nothing about anything.... just what little the very people who are supposed to be held to account say, and the people don't appear to care. Why won't the country be like this. With this much publicized incident Nigerians should demand that NAFDAC test/retest and make its findings PUBLIC. |
Chetas81:Ask me. You will expect some sort of alarm ringing in NAFDAC's offices with someone asking someone.... 'are you sure?..... test again and prepare the results in case we are called to question....' But what is more likely to happen is a call to Indomie HQ, '... have you heard the news sir'. Indomie HQ: 'yes we have and I can assure you our products meet the highest standards..... by the way our guest house in Atlanta is still available if you are travelling for the summer vacation you spoke about...' Call me an avid cynic but without details of the flight to arrive at the airport of 'safe indomie', I have few options. We know how Nigeria works. |
No details as to how they arrived at the assertion that 'Indomie Nigeria' is safe for consumption and I know like every other aspect of life in Nigeria, no journalist will dare ask for any. Word of mouth is enough for an ignorant citizenry steeped in sentiment. |
That is the future. But hardware has to improve across board. |
I repeat again. A system that elevates the worst in society, people of questionable character into positions of leadership again and again CANNOT advance or develop a country. How can this possibly happen without the active connivance of the citizenry. The very folks that are so religious and pray day by day for heavenly intervention yet cannot match their desires with their actions, cannot relate their actions with the consequences upon themselves. Without restructuring, Nigeria CANNOT move forward. I have been saying this for twenty five years now since it dawned one. |
GeneralPula:It is not approval we are talking about, it is scrutiny, vetting to bring out details for public care. The US is facing a debt-budget crises of it's own. The Biden government wants to borrow more (raise the debt ceiling) but Congress is resisting on the basis that the government has to cut some of its programed expenditure first. This is what we should be doing in Nigeria. Vetting government to protect the country and direct it's prosperity for the future. |
Pep Guardiola is well underway to building the most fearsome soccer team ever, projected to dominate the Premiership for as long as doesn't become bored. Awesome. |
Torpedo23:True. That is how Honduras and Haiti became what they are. The citizens just sat and watched. |
Just passing.... ....sai Baba anyone? |
b0rn2fuck:Don't mind them. A fellow that has confessed to killing over a thousand and extorted hundreds of millions in ransoms. Turbaned so that he can 'cool down' they say. |
frankson1:'Saner clime' means he is on the run because he will be caught to face the full penalty of the law, not forgiven like bandit businessmen or wringling out by pleading to ethno-religious sentiment. The foundation of any sane society is law, justice and equity. |
God1000:Liberal gun ownership has its merits. |
That is what they said in 2015. That they will have lost if Buhari did not win the primaries even though there were better candidates competing to fly the party's flag. Well as they say, the rest is history and what is clear is that Nigeria comes last in their considerations. A system that cannot produce qualitative leadership time and again cannot prosper the nation. If it has to be Hobson's Choice all the time then it must be restructured. Still cannot see any reason whatsoever to register for a PVC. I will not speculate on whether candidate x or y won an election or the if the declaration is legitimate or not. To me back testing will always prove right or wrong. Nigeria 2023 has proven election 2015 was an error. Nigeria 2027 will prove whether Nigeria got it right in election 2023. If you steal a monkey and it gives you ebola, I don't think it is fair to then charge you to court. |
Beautiful landscape. |
This same time 8 years ago it was 'sai Baba' all the way. You couldn't hear anything else over the air, couldn't put your foot down without stepping on one. 8 years later the poor man has become an orphan... Nigerians are not as bright as proclaimed.... too emotional, too sentimental... easily taken for political rides... And perhaps have bought another ticket... time will tell. |
kingyakos:Hahahaha.... all na care package..... one for the living, the other for the dead..... ![]() |
He should just retire and stop disturbing us with his endless drama. |
StepTwo:None are big game players yet. They will need high pressure big game players for a meaningful champions league campaign next season. |
Might work out well as an undercover cop. If not for the publicity not a single felon will suspect he's a lawman..... ![]() |
But the joke is on Nigerians that voted them back to power and by so doing have established a culture of excuses, non performance and misgovernance for the foreseeable future. From now on it doesn't matter how badly you perform in office. Just accumulate loot to excite the peons with crumbs, whip up ethno-religious sentiment, preach hegemony, peddle lies and bribe electoral umpires and you're good as elected. It is only poor quality citizens that can be led this way....like cattle. |
AI and robotics.... may just as well be the end the world. Its scary. Just don't want to think about it. |
See that. What did I say in the other post on 'Government unable to pay salaries until gasoline subsidy is removed'.... And I quote myself: "Another proof that the average Nigerian just works and slaves to feed the civil service, the very folks who in cahoots with politicians have ruined this country since independence. They already consume almost all income of state after debt servicing...., not enough, they want more and more..." Yes, subsidy should be removed. But if this is how the savings is going to be lost, then Nigeria may as well be lost. We have not even started talking about the bazaar of inflated contracts that will be awarded by these same people to themselves, friends and family. Taxation has never been the problem in Nigeria. The problem since Gowon made his now infamous quip is 'spending', or in the case of Nigeria, wasting, stealing.... There is nothing in Nigeria to encourage the average citizen to desire to pay taxes or relinquish subsidies. Let government give the average Nigerian the benefit of a doubt for once in their sorry lives..... thieves.... ![]() |
Another proof that the average Nigerian just works and slaves to feed the civil service, the very folks who in cahoots with politicians have ruined this country since independence. They already consume almost all income of state after debt servicing...., not enough, they want more and more... That is why the GDP is that low and poverty rife. Scant investment in productivity. Little consideration for the 95 percentile. Increase all you want. Inflation will collect everything back with interest. Because looking out for only 5 percent of the population is nonsensical economics. |
Definition of irony. In France the battle is against the increase in the retirement age which will make citizens work harder for a good life in retirement, a nation committed to it's post service promises. In Nigeria on the other hand they are pushing against government for increase in retirement age because the pension system is crap and so the average civil/public servant can have enough time to feather his nest. The kind of heists that muck up the country's finances making so called pensions of no real value. |
wirinet:I can understand that an overpass requires complex drainage to protect the roadway below.... but a bridge over a non descript valley or some canal or river should be the easiest, maintenance free thing to do. |
There is something I just cannot get my head around concerning infrastructure in Nigeria. For years and years I have always wondered how in heaven and earth can a bridge be flooded. How a bridge can turn to an aqueduct must be the 8th wonder of the world requiring the intervention of Discover Channel's Massive Engineering Mistakes. You drive through a flooded bridge then look down to the valley or river flowing below like you're on some thrill ride in a water park..... ![]() |
a4cube:America has a gun problem, a trigger disease and it is everywhere on social media. They don't hide it. |
gateleo:There are several types of atmospheric phenomena of which turbulence in just one and it happens everywhere in the world and has put down dozens of aircraft all over the ages costing thousands of lives. Not just in Africa. As a matter of fact we have some of the most benign weather in Africa. |
Kingdemu:There was a mini hurricane in the Abuja area yesterday. No power overnight in most parts. The rains are coming. |
Ihateheadslamer:Hmmm... poignant. But even God Almighty does not like death. Death is a product of sin. God created everything to continue eternally but man made death. That is why Christ came. To put an end to death. And by doing so every man has an opportunity to live.... and meet with God, everyday. |
