emmaodet:Now you guys are waking up to see why some of us don't own a pvc, never have voted and consider restructuring more important than elections. Democracy will always trump any form of dictatorship however because democracy is a nation advancing on the ideas of all people's and not limited by the will and competencies of a few. But in Nigeria's case the people cannot on their own wake up and take responsibility for their own collective good. It is clear this new government will be business as usual and Nigeria will certainly be worse for it in all aspects that matter by 2027. Anyone thinking otherwise is just deceiving himself. No matter the quality of food, if served with dirty utensils will leave a legacy of illness, not the remembrance of satiety. This is where restructuring comes in, to sanitize all society by setting the ground rules for a collective, pan Nigeria value system. A sort of making the rules of the game of life and progressive living before play starts, not after. |
So glad I left that place finally in 2003 for Abuja where today non-indigenes can aspire to lead at any level as representing the true demographics and other statistics representing a typical modern cosmopolitan city. Let the tribal chiefs continue to rule and force themselves upon others and watch a city that will begin to decay and decline. History is filled with similar stories of once prosperous empires that became ghost towns, run down by the fragmentation of those societies long the lines we see in Lagos today. Whereas the greatest societies and even nations today are those who have welcomed and assimilated foreigners into their fold in every way including their aspirations socially, economically and politically. We celebrate these things as successes when our people do so offshore but resist them as evil when a demand is made of us. Lagos will politically reflect its diversity because the 15million inhabitants, the largest urban enclave in Nigeria are not all indigenous. It will do so willingly or it will decay. There are no other options. |
Whot!!!! My goodness, what happened. |
pargelenis:Are they playing Real next round. |
Ray07:Honestly it will be regrettable for City to win it again. Most neutrals will not want see the kind of monopoly in the Lique 1 or Bundesliga. But the fact is that they have the biggest squad led by the most experienced gaffer. They are unlikely to lose again this season. Can't really say the same for the Gunners. |
stillme231:Just the icing on a bad game and a bad match. Arteta messed up the game by disrespecting Lisboa and playing a weakened team even after what he saw in the Portugal first leg. Ramsdale messed up the match by conceding a scandalous goal after a warning during the last Premiership game when he was almost lobbed from distance similarly. |
Ray07:I seriously doubt that. The Premiership is going to get harder towards the end. This season no team is sure of going down even at this late stage. For once in a long while the bottom six teams are all in danger and so will fight to the end. Chelsea and Liverpool are out of position and will fight to the bitter end to get into Europe and the pretenders above them like Brighton and Castle will struggle to stay in their positions, so who is left..... for Arsenal to roll over... |
helinues:Nketiah is injured.... for a while now. |
Game over. Arteta bungled this one. Played a weakened squad. Could not get it done in regulation. Stressed out the players including the first teamers What is the gain. Said it. Now all the pressure will be on their Premiership charge and this will crack the minds of those young lads. Momentum is lost. This was what Wenger used to do all those years back and Europe continued to ellude the club. |

This keeper will save spot kicks when the time comes. |
Dunno why Arteta isn't taking the Europa Cup seriously. In my opinion it is an easier competition to win that the Premiership he is eyeballing. And any extra time here will further subject the team to stress and injury risk. He should have played his first team right from the start and right from the first knockout leg. |
Sancho has been an awful disappointment, a real sour pie considering all the hype and the years United spent salivating after him. |
Planning and communication is everything. The man appears a bit insecure in this case however and that is not a good sign. The wife should have a career and make as much progress in life as the husband. In a proper marriage this makes for better security for all. |
Parents of course. It is they who vote in bad leadership time and again. |
Nope..... not sucked up. Onuachu's been doing it for years in Belgium..... then has gone AWOL in England.... |
I just pity Nigerians because nonsensical talk like this will continue as long as the people fear their leaders instead of the leaders ruling in the fear and with respect to the people. As the popular saying goes, 'na see finish cause am'. Only ignorant, selfish, divided people deserve to be treated this way. Let the man say this in any proper democracy anywhere in the world and both him and his party will be made an example of. But for folks who wish to be led about by the nose ring like cattle, the audacity of such crass saying is music to their ears. Here they are all around the forum. |
Goalnaldo:Your power has gone to Italy with 3 reps in the quarters. Italy is opening up to foreign players that's why. Some veteran players are complaining that young Italians are getting pushed out of the bigger clubs but hey, there is a price for success. Napoli yesterday had only 3 first team Italian players which is times past was unheard of. |
bolliejay:Atletico no longer plays defensive football. That was 2, 3 seasons ago. Simeone has abandoned that. |
Dominion46:Chelsea has a torrid history of managerial instability. It is a risky club for top players. A certain gaffer may want you but three or four managers later you are relegated to the bench. Young players need clubs with stable structures to develop. In Spain that will be Atletico, in Germany that will be Bayern, in England amongst the top teams that will be City for now ( if Haaland leaves). |
No need. Osimen and Haaland are alike in every manner withe the exception that Haaland is better two footed. Stature, technics are all the same. I don't see the point, except if Haaland is leaving and the wage bill is to be lowered. |
helinues:So the President 'gives' the position of Senate President and House Leader. Honestly, a people that do not know how a thing works will continue to be victims of it's failings. Where in the world does this happen except in a moribund democracy with infantile citizens at the butt end. If the Legislature are the President's appointees then why have a cabinet. What is the point of spending huge resources on duplicating government with this new move at installing another rubber stamp. |
Sir, that is scriptural speculation. For the same Bible says and I quote, 'my people perish for lack of knowledge', Hosea 4:6 para. Nigerians have clearly rejected the knowledge of how democracies work, ignoring Democracy 101, which simply is, DONOT re-elect a failed government back into power. So they are about to reap the result over the next 4 years. So the advice from you to them is to strap in, sit tight and learn from the school of hard knocks. By 2027 Nigerians will be well educated. |
Hmmm..... Fulham busy doing 'Wikemetrics'..... power must return to London..... ![]() |
Red nau. Can't you see the height of his foot on that leg. What kind of question is this. |
Here we go. The first punt at selling AlphaBeta to Nigeria. The creation of a personal financial empire like the world has never seen is about to begin. The Legislature and Judiciary must come alive and be prepared to tackle this. This firm MUST come under full scrutiny using all the means of government available. Th best parting gift the Buhari administration can give Nigeria is to ensure the country is not overrun and controlled by shadowy groups and cartels masquerading as consultants to pillage its resources no matter what prescribed advantages they advertise to offer. We have heard, seen and felt the effects of cartels in the corridors of government popularly known as 'cabals'. We must resist the deepening of this trait. |
Well, he is right.... he is wrong.... everyone is right....... everyone is wrong.... The problem is, exactly what do Nigerians want...... what do Nigerians define as moving forward. For Wike it is fighting the fear of ethnic domination, every other consideration is sacrificed, including the poor performance of the government, and the extreme religious biases, so to him the APC deserves another term. For the Obidients it is fighting the establishment, every other consideration is sacrificed, including the failure to make alliances thus splitting the opposition votes and the polarisation of citizens across board, so by omission or commission they have given the ruling party another term. For the ruling party, the fear of losing power and all its privileges and in many ways for their supporters the fragmentation of the north/west power hegemony drove many to re-empower and reinforce a poorly performing establishment, every other consideration as to the wellbeing of the country and its citizens was sacrificed. My summation is that Nigerians need this country to be restructured as a matter of urgency so that we are all on the same page as to what progress of this country and its people truly means. Without that we will just be experimenting with our lives and stumbling from one error to another. |
Moral of the story. If you steal, ensure you don't outlive your loot. If they had governed well there will be security at old age and peace at death for all. But this show of shame is symptomatic of a people that cannot relate their citizen responsibilities to their democratic experiences. |
Liverpool are not only victims of their flash success against United last week but also Bournemouth's heartbreaking failings against Arsenal. |
ogododo:Hahahaha..... ![]() Maybe the goals are reserved for Real Madrid midweek... abeg no cuss me..... me set dey wonda... |
How can a rational man explain this scenario..... only in the Premiership will such an anomaly happen. Little wonder punting found its origins in England.... ![]() |
Still pursuing individuals at the expense of building institutions. Nigerians will never learn. When these individuals become tyrants the weakened institutions will no longer be able to contain them. Is she living in Frank Nweke's mind. Does she know the innermost thoughts and intentions of the man... But there is a way to make democracy work for the good of people which is by building strong institutions around values and by selling those values you attract the right kind of leadership that fits and that will not be big enough to affect the institution and infect it negatively. Let leadership plead and cry for opportunity so they fear and respect the people rather than people chase after and hero worship them into becoming tin gods. The black man simply cannot lead himself successfully and build viable societies. Elections after elections yet no progress and we persist in error. |
