Most folks here are looking at the bottom line trying to construe indecent to mean explicit of the sexual kind. But I just think they mean indecent as in tatty... just like the men wearing polo shirts or shirt sleeves to such a job. Haven't watched the video but if the dress code is corporate then she falls below that standard and for an expulsion I have a feeling the sentiment is well known. |
Poor judgement by the pastor. Having gone viral the authorities have no option but to take action. Just hope they will not make an example of him. |
Ashirioluwa:But you have to understand that tipping can also have adverse effects on a company or business as to how it manages customers/clients and staff relationships and can sometimes erode trust, equity and professionalism. It cannot and should not be acceptable in all cases and in Nigeria with very unstable business environment, every time. |
PrettyBolu:That is not the criteria. If not the police will be justified for demanding or receiving tips. Generally tipping is industry related but will be determined by the business and/or the brand. Most service delivery businesses will have well established rules about what is permitted or not. |
samonak:But yesterday (2019) we were cheering the removal of the last assembly that had the desire to stand up to the Executive in preference of one that 'will work for/with the President', preferring 'cooperation' over 'confrontation' and thus deactivating the airbags in our vehicle as we sped recklessly along the highway of democracy without the seatbelt of a harassed and discredited Judiciary. Now, can we see why citizens of other nations ensure the independence of their Judiciary and fight to have their representatives represent them and no other interests. We will learn the workings of this democracy thing by the force of suffering. That is sure. |
Goke7:Absolutely. Glad that Nigerians are finally waking up and maturing to the truth about democracy and the fact about Nigeria's. Time that we all came to the realisation that chasing after individuals in the process of installing leaders is not the A-Z of democracy. And that the history of Nigeria necessitates we prepare the ground before we plant the seeds if we desire to see a harvest. We need to restructure Nigeria or elections and our democracy will remain barren activities. |
Violence will always be the purview of the ignorant. These people jumping up and down have elected representatives supposedly answerable to them.... And these representatives HAVE THE POWER to check the Executive right up to removing a sitting President. But they have lived through, willingly given up their rights and many times have ignorantly promoted mere men to become tin gods, the gods that no longer listen to them, the gods that they no longer can control. Folks, it is not leaders who can build bridges and railways, dole out stipends to feed your kids in school, promise heaven and earth... no. It is the man or woman that fears and respects you, that knows how democracy works, that is willing to build and promote institutions over and above himself, his desires and ambitions and respects the rule of law. That is the man or woman to empower to lead. And even then such a leader must be watched diligently like a hawk and leashed like a wild bronco. After this regime and 7 years of trial, Nigerians should be totally fed up with autocracy. |
Hmmm..... perhaps Iremide was about to be employed by the ballet company and they have more than enough split personalities..... ![]() |
A people that cannot decide when they want their government to obey the law and when not to will remain in crises and decadence because no sensible entity will invest on shaky grounds. Do people not often cheer when government disobeys the law when it tickles their fancy. They will boast that their preferred candidate can fight crime, build roads and culverts, revamp the economy, create jobs, etc. They will never bother to ask if he or she understands democracy, respects the citizens, builds institutions and will obey the rule of law, the things that really matter, the foundations of any nation that is to thrive. So the quest for every other thing comes to naught and the end of the citizen is left worse off than before the leader emerged. |
Highways:Sell fresh, process the rest. That is the way the rest of the world goes. |
Reference:It is a pity that I am not good at re-calling past posts but I remember one on this matter very clearly some years ago and a respondent said and I quote: '....so you mean that the Legislature should be fighting the President.....' That is what a so called citizen of this country said in support of the moves back then to get the President totally control the third leg of government. Today, the only arm that can do anything about the situation Nigeria finds itself is rendered dead, as compromised and as paralyzed as Adam and Eve after eating the forbidden apple of democracy leaving the citizens that cheered and danced as this drama unfolded gnashing and wailing.... I say it again and again. What you don't know cannot work positively for you except by a rare stroke of luck. Nigerians including their elite and so called leaders simply do not know how this democratic thing works for THEIR OWN GOOD. |
DennisEche:Told you folks in 2014/5, that by the end of this regime...'everyone will be demystified'..... People that stood by and watched the pussy cat grow into a lion are the ones that are crying out, scared stiff about leaving the safety of their rooms. When we told them to speak out against poor leadership and bad governance, they said, no. That 'Sai Baba' was enough. We said, okay, then let democratic opposition thrive to checkmate ruling party misadventures, they said, no.... APC alone or we die here. We said, okay, then let democratic institutions thrive to checkmate the excesses of the Executive, they said, no. That we want an omni-potent President. That the Judiciary must bow down and the Legislature MUST WORK FOR HIM. Today they are running to the Judiciary to block a Sai Baba that cannot be blocked and crying to a Legislature that is like 'suya' to the Presiden (t' or 'cy' - we don't know which one again...). Na the food wey Nigeria cook be dat and we go chop am together. For those of us that had seen all this well ahead many years ago, we had braced ourselves and today we are not bothered about who loses or wins. Those that called us wailing wailers are doing just that today. They claim to know a lot about the democracy THEY THINK they practice but in truth all they have created are autocratic despots they themselves CANNOT CONTROL. Thus Democracy 101 simply states that: DO NOT ELECT OR EMPOWER LEADERS(HIP) YOU CANNOT CONTROL. ELECT ONLY MEN AND WOMEN THAT FEAR AND RESPECT YOU AND YOUR WISHES. After that still tie their hands and legs with the stiff cords of the courts and the law (legislature). Then my sons and daughters, you will live in peace. |
But a while ago this man and many other fanatics of this administration vehemently denied a cabal was at work in the Presidency, claiming in no uncertain terms that President Buhari WAS IN CHARGE.... So, we wish to ask Mr. El-Rufai and these folks again.... 'who has been governing or leading this country since 2015...' |
LikeAking:You have a serious point, a critical one that most Nigerians have never heard of and our leaders know next to zero about. A nation does not become wealthy by contracting big budget 'infrastructure'. All the roads, bridges and rail lines by themselves create nothing, but are mere tools to enhance an already productive people. Even the so called mythical saying in these parts that 'providing 24 hours electricity will guarantee development' is just that because power in development is a factor of production. Power on its own does not produce anything and to an unproductive nation it then becomes an expensive burden. |
Basicend:The problem with Chelsea is stability. They eat through too many coaches to bother about the careers of their players. The present project looks promising but even the fans cannot say if the present management will be there by next week.... not a place for a young aspiring players from AFRICA to stake his career. |
Seunfretty:Absolutely. |
Angelfrost:That is why it is better for him to move to Spain rather than England. Spain is more forgiving and their game is more technical, more rounded. Osimen will do well there in any of the big two.... and still have a good second hand value. |
Seunfretty:You're right. That is why playing for Pep particularly at the beginning of one's career is a huge risk. Pep has gone through a lot of great players leaving many of them unfulfilled particularly forwards. Though highly successful, the man just does not permit a hint of dependency on anyone and mistakes even the slightest are severely punished. If you remember his first season in Naples.... the injuries, shenanigans, the drama.... if it was in Pep's team, by now he will be playing for Watford or Crystal Palace and scrapping with Zaha.... ![]() |
Seunfretty:Absolutely. We don't have them. And our technical department isn't bothered about that. Whereas it is their responsibility to develop the technical play of the team whether building the team around a player or adapting the players to a specific technical qualities. All we do in Nigeria is mash together Mercedes engine, Toyota gearbox, Chevrolet suspension and expect miracles. |
Seunfretty:So are you saying Osimen creates and scores for himself such that the team around his is irrelevant. My man, Napoli plays Cremonense this evening, pls watch. The team Napoli is built to get the best out of him. Once they understood his play they made wholesale changes to their forward line with older, established players leaving. Napoli is a solid team, there are no individual superstars and lone rangers there. As for whether he will outscore Haaland has to do with Pep's tactics. Pep has never been big on traditional number 9's since his Barca days and Osimen will not get the kind of consistent service he enjoys at Napoli. Pep will not build the team around him (to serve him). Pep does not build teams around players. As for other Premiership teams, Liverpool, United and Tottenham both have weak attacking midfields presently, Chelsea is still a project in the making while Arsenal's play is far too slow for the kind of open game Osimen needs to prosper. His best bet will be Spain, either Real or Barca and both are in dire need of replacement No. 9's |
Kharol1234:The SE presently does not have the kind of midfield that will support the quality of his play AT THE MOMENT. Even Napoli had to adjust the team and tactics over the past two seasons to suit his style of play. Osimen is not a ball, holder, just a pure striker so he needs ball holders behind and on the flanks. There is not a single player in the present SE team that can hold the ball for more than 10 seconds or move it more that 30 yards at pace without losing it, even the more cultured players such as Iwobi, whereas Napoli has them in numbers. |
He has improved in leaps and bounds over the past few months but a lot has to do with the team he is surrounded with and the gaffer he plays for.... unfortunately which the clubs that want him just do not have. No other team in Europe plays the game like Napoli does.... a silky smooth and well oiled machine....an absolute joy to watch week in, week out. |
Kentuforchrist:Same stuff. He doesn't strike either. Arsenal presently has a lot of players doing the same thing especially in the middle, consistently looking for short passes into the opponents six yard. The lack of attacking variety is making them increasingly predictable once all other teams have noticed their good start to the season. They need a player in the mold of KDB of City in their midfield, a player that can do both short and long, can pass in tight spots being comfortable on the ball, but will shoot on goal at a moment's notice and thus is very difficult to defend against. I cannot see it easier for the Gunners in the title run in if Arteta will not freshen up his tactics. They are becoming too predictable and it shows in the way other teams have slowed down their play and eroded their confidence. |
Fr33born:Not just him, the entire team save Trossard.... over thinking... looking for the 'killer pass'... and goal of the week..... ![]() |
See Arteta busy telling Trossard of how he should be dribbling into the net, abi..... ... just one lucky break and this Brentford will make hay. |
Odegaard will call that a shot.... so poor. That is the problem. Very rarely will you see a 10 without a half decent whack. |
Once again, another Arsenal tiresome dance around the box 18..... no one with the guts to shoot on goal. Very predictable. |
Omooba77:Femi, calm down and wait for 2023/2027 edition of the 'Wailing Wailers' membership form. |
I have dumped my interest for athletics since the Ben Johnson saga of 88 and cycling since Lance Armstrong rode into the sunset leaving a bag full of broken hearts. To me there are only two T & F athletes and cyclists. Those who have been caught and those lucky that the present testing regime is a few steps behind. I don't watch them no more. Those sports are forever tainted. |
Investment ko, reinvestment ni. Instead of selling it off as scrap. In today's Nigeria, government should not spend scarce resources on real estate which is highly capital intensive with ultra long term return in investment thoughtless of profit and which does not create sustainable jobs. It is clear that as shown by other governments at all levels, contractors have a firm grip on our democracy. And that our collective future is tied to their interests. For how can a governor who's feet has barely touched the ground be angling and hunting for humongous white elephants instead of thinking of how he can improve the economy of the state and begin to create sustainable prosperity by job creation through the right kind of investments and programs. If Osun had the resources in the good times of the past to embark on such adventures, Nigeria has become a different place and the citizens should be demanding for prudence and fidelity in government spending. If sentiment towards that building must be held then it can concession it to private developers. Nigerians must insist on the end to the retrogressive, dangerous and wanton poverty the culture of contracting has brought to Nigeria for over 50 years. |
faceland:Why not think about it the other way, that these types of businesses no longer fit the modern society...the pedicurist by the street corner, the sugarcane seller, the gala hawker should become obsolete in city centres and neighborhoods not just for their potential exclusion from modern financial services but for the sake of the environment, and public health and safety. Right now it appears the government has the socio-economic high ground in dragging the citizens of Nigeria kicking and screaming into modernity. |
Finally growing some balls and practicing some internal defiance against their hallowed leader and President of Nigeria even at this late hour in the life of this administration. Just because of elections. It shows the potentials of the citizens to the effect that leaders can actually fear losing power and becoming irrelevant. That citizens interests can actually matter when they can coalesce them around shared values and insist their elected leaders sit up, listen and dance to the tunes of good governance. If only citizens had stood up all this while and resisted the wanton borrowings of this government and reckless spending for instance, that has plunged the country into deep debts, ignited run away inflation and further impoverished many, they will not have to bother about their nickels and dimes withheld by the CBN today. But the average Nigerian is not that intelligent. Just a bag of emotions making him ultra vulnerable to be led about like cattle. They all hero worshiped their so called supermen leaders for seven and half years only to wake up near dead in February 2023. Just hear the bitter outcry of the ruling party faithfuls. Wow, who will have thought the boot could fit the other foot in 2015. Where is Mr. Femi, the chief priest of the assembly of wailing wailers. |
