spiceadole:Prem is a deceptively hard league to shine. His countryman who played for Arsenal all those years ago Gervinho was similar, plenty pace and trickery but scant end product. But when he went to Roma the goals began to flow. Just look at Lukaku (no pun intended) the baby elaphant performing for Inter. |
xynerise:Gervinho 3.1? |
Yusman316:You can say that again. What is a mystery is that eveyone else but the Board knows this.... strange to the point of suspected sabotage you'd think. Arsenal has not had a decent defensive line since 2004. |
The league is over already. I cannot see an outcome beyond City winning it and Liverpool coming second. Third to sixth will be an ugly slugfest...their supporters going through a roller coaster of emotions this season. Too much inconsistency. |
StrikeBack:Hahahahaha... |
Deepfeel:You people have started again with your 'certainty'. What exactly is his/her source of income please. What does he/she really do for a living...or we wait for the FBI... for the facts.... No wonder our tax regime is so poor. Noboby knows and nobody carea to know what anyone does, earns or is worth... just primitive speculation everywhere. How much tax does Bob pay to Lagos state that affords a 19 million birthday bash. Let us start there. That is how it is done in India. The taxman works weekends and attendes social events but for a very serious reason. Let him/her continue running his/her mouth on phantom fortune. Only an ignoramus thinks it impresses anyone. Serious people of means do everything to conceal theirs. |
Call it gay stuff, trans stuff, cross dressing stuff, same sex marraiges, whatever. What I know is that the police have been raiding the premises of such events all across Nigeria since the 80's from Kano to Kaduna to Abuja and beyond. It is nothing new. And I have not heard of one case where the government or its agents were taken to court for this. Perhaps Bob and his legion of disciples can start the process. |
seanjy4konji:According to our laws he is a whisker away from felony... sorry she...mm.... |
Just a curious thought.... if Bob is arrested will he..&?*?×*?'!!.... she....?*?!!?**!?.... be locked up in the male or female wing of the slammer.... Any lawyer in the house can you answer this.... constitutional quagmire.... |
Flier:Too bad. Pep is turning the Premiership to a boring Laliga dichotomy. |
With arguably the best player in modern times in the person of Lionel Messi you will have expected Barcelona will win the Champions League every other year but time again the undoing of Barca, the wall between them and ultimate glory has been their defence which they have paid scant attention to over the years. The truth is stark. To win a trophy you just have to have the first to third best defender in that class be it a League or a Cup tourney. Defenders may not win Balon Dor's individually but they will win trophies for their teams. |
Once again for anyone you cares to listen as concerning Chelsea: Good attacks win matches.... good defences win trophies. Ask Arsenal on the one hand then look to Liverpool post Van Dyke on the other..... |
If only Nigerians can start to make (fabricate or assemble) industrial machinery. There is an enormous market out there. I have a long list of things I would rather buy here if they can be made and I have a number of reasons for that. The marine industry cum oil and gas is one sector that has made significant progress in onshore manufacturing. Agriculture as well. The big disappointments are construction and engineering, power, and machine tools. This is one big reason infrastructure remains extremely prohibitive. There are hardly any local substitutes for anything useful. |
Jaynom:Yes we will celebrate it. Let us see what you make. |
.... complete with suicide doors.... nice. |

Yes just as Bill Clinton and George Bush Jnr said about pot usage in their youth.... they smoked but didn't inhale. INEC, you're not alone. |
mmadu4:We will not. We will not abscond and leave them to victory. This country will not become Guatemala. |
YoungAncient1:Indeed. Pepe has successfully brought the spirit of 'two horse race' to England. The EPL is fast going the way of Laliga and the Bundesliga. |
LordFaraday: .... sorry. Next time scroll gently while in public. If you notice a picture coming into view open a new page and reload the website for another topic. |
grandstar:But if he is truly thinking of a post playing career the best way go about it is stability not turbulence. If he thinks England will be his base he should have remained in Middlesborough and played out his time then transition to their technical department through a player/coaching role like his compatriot John Terry is doing. ...or return to his boyhood club like old stars such as Van Persie or Vincent Kompany for one final dig then the transition to coaching which in his case will mean Lyn Oslo but the problem with that as well is that he left acrimoniously in the infamous Chelsea/United transfer saga all those years ago. This is what I always say about Africans. The lack of foresight and critical thinking. We often burn all our bridges on the altar of financial gain and grow our professional prospects and careers very unnaturally. |
Bluezy13:What else can I say. You feast and fatten on the public purse, you pay the public bill. All I put out on this medium, the only media I feature on is opinions. I donot solicit or welcome solicitations and donot advertise anything. My life is private and will remain so. My choice, my liberty. |
kleverley: ....says an Arsenal fan reaching for the tissue box, 'pls hold my beer...' |
Corruption can never end. Folks, either you demand for a change of channel or continue watching such bull. Restructure Nigeria now. |
JimohMomoh:Infrastructure takes along time to build and when the economy is sluggish it takes even longer. This is a very large country, highly populated with peanut sized revenues. Everyone must take responsibility for the decay including the average Nigerian that produces more children than his productivity and his taxes. No one wants to pay for anything but sit down and complain. Where will the FCT get the trillions it wil take to complete the masterplan.... when even parking tolls Abuja residents raved, ranted and resisted to pay. Everyone wants lazy arse oil money. |
D1zion:That is the point of investigation, to unearth the truth and learn more about the possoble criminal network. What I want to see as well is the military taking another look at its rules of engagement particularly in civilan theatres viz the training and orientation it gives to its operative deployed literally to 'the streets' and also how it interfaces with other law enforcement organisations. To have policemen identify themselves at a military checkpoint and are allowed through only to receive a counter instruction and they are all gunned down is totally unacceptable. Even if they refused to stop, what are the rules of enagement. They cannot and should not be at the whim of junior officers (like a Captain who in a conflict scenario can head no bigger than a Military Company). To use deadly force, to kill identified targets should not be the decison of an Army Captain in a civilian theatre. It also brings to the fore a bigger problem of military doctrine as to whether a soldier is typically in allegiance to the law or to his boss or command. I think if this is not handled properly we will experience a lot more tragic events. The law should always be upheld by every personel to the extent of questoning unlawful orders. I think if the military is going to prove it has finally submitted itself after decades of governace to civilian rule and democracy, it has to abandon its practice of tolerating unlawful acts and subject all its personel to the law. Soldiers need to develop a mentality of the law on one hand and their mission on the other at all times. If not a Lieutenant can pick up the phone and order his unit to do anything untoward without a hesitation by those ordered. This is dangerous. |
The investigations have been handled very well. It needs to be foresnsic and thorough. No rush. This is the benefit of permitting the criminal justice system to work. You learn many things, you uncover many things even things unexpected when you dig out a case properly. Had it been the men were lynched like Nigerians typically desire how will you get into their accounts, how do you get documents, passcodes, how do you setup stings, how do you locate accomplices and buried evidences..... how do you trace the masterminds aka 'sponsors' as Nigerians always cry. When the system is permitted to work by both citizen and government we all profit from a more enlightened citizen and a better performing government. Kudos to eveyone from the CinC who initiated this and prevented a coverup and the police who remained dogged in seeking justice for their fallen colleagues. This kidnapping thing is surely a vast network which must be unearthed no matter whose ox is gored. |
While Ghana moves ahead.... see Nigerians... |
shadeyinka:I disagree. This is just a chicken and egg argument about which comes first the machine or the machine tool. You donot need to reinvent the wheel to industrialize. I am tested to think of anything the Chinese have invented since gunpowder yet they are the number one industrial nation. We donot need to start with raw materials and basic industrial inputs to industrialize. You can enter the value chain at any point you find profitable and sustainable. It is all about developing a culture of 'making things' and no matter what is made and we will prosper. If you donot have a steel industry you may not be absolutely profitable in all things but not everythng is made of steel. What I just desire is a change of narrative and mentality away from the prevalent 'buy and sell' culture at the citizen level and the mining and extractive industry mindset of government. |
Osobi32:I understand. But the truth is that before prosperity must be enjoyed we need to develop a culture of prosperity which begins with independence or the ability to care for ourselves by making things. If we cannot make the pencils our engineers, architects, doctors, inventors, investors, scientists will use to sketch, sign and write, how do we start to make things. |
That cannot be a NATO round or a 7.62.... either a 308 or 50.... or a shotgun..... which means he was critical before the head shot at closer range.... overkill... |
alezzy13:Whether a case is fraudulent or not when a court determines a case you are obliged to respond not to the case but to the court. You are not looking at the case you are looking at the law. This is common sense. Everyone was tardy about this case since 2015 typical of the black man. And all these are a result of a culture of impunity we have bred for decades. We think it is Nigeria where government is not subject to law. When you practice this idea long enough it begins to reform your thinking and when serious tests arise you are bound to err. The antidote to this is to take the rule of law seriously IN ALL THINGS. From where you sit do you know what this present government has signed off on. Was it not just yesterday the Finance Minister and the CBN were in fits over our debt position. I tell you if we donot hold government, all governments to serious account and close scrutiny we wil suffer severe pain. |
