PureGoldh:You voted them without asking questions. This is the result. In other countries the citizens tell government what to do. Here our citizens have nothing to contribute to the governance of themselves. |
felixmuyiwa:Told you folks corruption can never end under this system. Only restructuring can seperate the yam from the goat. |
westjoy:An ignorant Australian, please qualify your position. |
lakesider:They have a lot of business interests and investments in Nigeria. If it was Donald Trump in Aso Rock he will eject them instantly and think later. Criminals or not, drugs lords or not, they are your citizens and you must stand up for them. Our government is being a tad too soft and really punching below its weight. We don't really sell much to S/A so in a rofu rofu we don't have too much to lose. Only if our economy was stronger. |
Our celebrities can start the fight back by boycotting studio appearances on Multichoice and Supersports platforms. If they can assault Nigerians in their homes what stops them invading the studios goving JayJay or Joseph Yobo a haircut. |
majamajic:Very unusual. They should be the first seeded team every season they qualify. They have earned it. |
Davash222:What else is more important to an Arts and Culture boss than a desecration of the African culture and the stomping on our collective heritage.... not that I care about culture anyway....my offence is purely on a religious basis. |
Toscarel:It is not about Mr. Buhari probing him. That is nonsense. Mr Donald Trump doesn't probe anyone, neither does Boris Johnson or Angela Merkel. It is the system that regulate, institutions that probe under the impetus of the citizens that constantly demand acxountability. Institutions feed into the strength and will of the people, nothing else. Government is merely a reflection of the wishes of the people, the nature of the people. That is why we advocate restructuring so that people can come together and agree on standards for everythng including the way they perceive their leaders and what they expect of them in terms of conduct and accountability. And this is only possible when you decouple Nigeria so that states compete. So when State A deals with its leaders and jails them through its own Supreme Courts and the people prosper as a result, State B, hitherto been led as a feudal state with rife corruption will have its citizens revolt and demand accountability that brings prosperity. Right now the Federal structure we practice enables for instance a Rochas to hide in Abuja and run his mouth when he should be answering charges before an EFCC state equivalent in Owerri. We need to restructure so that corruption is not dealt with from Abuja alone but from the source. Let the people set the standards they want to develop and let them learn best practices as a result. Many states from Abia to Delta to Taraba to Lagos will have been far better governed when the people are empowered. |
But citizens elected his father knowing they are criminals.... and they will come here to complain about hardship. |
davodyguy:So it is simple. Donot celebrate them until you know the facts. But just wait till Nigeria wakes up and come back to Nairaland and see the celebrations of all that is wrong in Nigeria on the front page, promoted by posters and uploaded by moderators. Everyone is involved in this mess. There is a deliberate effort to destroy this country completely and our youth are prime targets. Just wait and see. |
Why are they crying. Why couldn't they persuade him to cut a wide berth away from criminality. If he the refused, you will simply shrug your shoulders and move on.... no cry. I think it is time Nigerians consider passing laws to hold parents culpable for the worst acts of their wards. If the parents or caretakers of those who kill are made to face the penalty, parents will sit up and do a better job at keeping their kids in the straight and narrow or keep them chained up indoors like wild animals for life or better still consider the consequences of sowing wild oats. It is totally wrong to cast your mess on society. |
rhymesnoni:Most criticism was not about those. |
We elect politicians without taskings. We approve Ministers without vetting. We title rich folks 'Millionaire' and 'Billionaire' instead of Dr, Engr, Mr. or just by their names because we are lovers of money rather than lovers of achievement. We are not driven by purpose, by excellence or by humanity. We are rather driven by greed and pride. That is why we are custodians of corruption. We donot question riches, we donot seek the work, risk, effort or knowledge that should produce it because we donot like that. We are a nation of lazy folks who want it all, now. That is why people like him will surprise the Nigerian but will not surprise the American or European or Asian... just because they donot live like this. |
I cannot be scammed. This is the only social media I do. I have no Facebook, Twitter or Instagram footprint. I do all my business in living color. And on Nairaland I do not solicit nor advertise anything. I donot post topics. I just comment, sometimes reply and that's it. .... and of course I live in the straight and narrow. I have seen it all and done it all. Nothing in life attracts me to the point of losing consciousness so don't bother. |
Send the memo to that man that claims to love Nigeria too much to leave. |
planetx:Then let blacks prove they are not monkeys by behaving human. Every where in the world where you find blacks congregate you find the vilest of behaviour. Those who manage to find excellence do so trading off the whites. They excel because they are in competition and want to prove something just as South African blacks did shortly after independence. But no sooner had they taken the reins fully South Africa has begun to deteriorate and it doesn't take a genius to project that SA will structurally deteriorate to Nigerian levels by the time they are as old as us. By the way isn't it the same South Africa that folks defend when MTN flouts our laws and Multichoice monopolises our marketplace. Can we now see there are no sentiments in international disputes and all countries will and should flex their muscles. Their companies don't want to comply yet they are quick to hunt down others. |
TSRC:There are hardly any Southern African countries that are successful. Look at their neighbours to see what they will have been like without extended colonial rule. The whites just held that country tight because of its clement weather. We are just lucky Nigeria is in the tropical zone. If not half of Europe will still be here by now.... |
Just look at the sweet, innocent girl.... kai. What kind of animals are these..... just so sad. What kind of harm can this girl do to anyone. What harm can a four year old do. Why are we like this... ![]() |
With the way our citizens tarnish the image of this country I don't think the government should be making it easier for people to leave. |
I said it years ago.... that bankers will begin to become complicit for financial crimes in society. They know whats going on in the corridors or corruption and some unscrupulous ones act as technical advisers to hard ballers. |
zomby:What is creative about this. C'mon if this is creative by your standards.... we have no hope whatsoever in this country. I'm afraid your standards are really low. |
Nothing cerebral about what Nigerians are attracted to as time goes by. Just a mad rush to the basement. Where is the African equivalent of classical music, music of thought and heart..... |
grandstar:I like that.... creative destruction. Useful tool in development in a sense..... Hopefully it will work in the political sphere where Nigerians may come alive and enlightened to democracy and civic responsibilities when they experience the torrid sufferings of bad governance for a season. |
DuxofMen:In your opinion what has the effects of TSA been on the economy since we have entered an era whete government is perceived to be a better manager of resources than the citizens or shall we say the private sector. Why can't TSA be suspended for a season. |
shiwex:What I said a while ago. Training and orientation is poor. The authorities leave these people at the mercy of society to craft their psyche. Anyway who demands for a better public service. Is it the citizens cheering every government misadventure, is it citizens complicit and docile to effect the status quo. Or is the crabs that pull down and shut up those who dare to demand for better. This is ourcou try. We have to endure it the way we have decided to create it. |
Just speechless. How can a human being do this to another. Words just fail me.... gosh. This man should be locked up till his last day on earth. Totally unfit to live amongst human beings. |
Can it really be called castration if it is reversible. Sounds more like suppression. Like what youput at the end of a gun barrel to muzzle the noise of exploding gunpowder. Just like that it makes the whole exercise more of a danger to potential victims..... just cut the bloody thing off and save everyone. |
How can we assess performance when there are no parameters for that. How can we judge hardwork when there are no tasks to perform. How can we ascertain deliverabkes when there are no promises. How can you pass or fail an examination when there are no questions. The last opportunity to collect the examination question paper was at the National Assembly.... unfortunately you were amongst the lucky few given an SS2 Biology question paper and a few weeks later we see you awarded a degree certificate in law and jurisprudence.... how come.... That is Nigeria in summary. Our expectations are next to nil. We don't expect you to win any case in court. But good luck. |
It is up to women to remove that defective software from their operating systems, not men, and focus on the things that matter to life and their contribution to wholesome living and humanity in general. Of course part of the curse on the woman for falling to the serpent's guile in the garden of Eden was that she will continue to invest in false, fleeting and failed ventures all her life, but humanity has to regain some common sense here. Why should man partake in this deception when his own millstone of eternal suffering to find what is right under his nose hangs around his neck. |
Corrupt people. All in a bid to return an under performing and unpopular governor who in all likelihood will do far worse in the second term. The ball is in the court of the people of Kogi. Folks like me will have no pity for the state or the people of the state if they cannot start the agitation for their franchise to count beginning now when they have maximum leverage and the candidates are at their most vulnerable. The decision is stark. Mr Bello WILL NOT DO BETTER IF HE WINS A SECOND TERM. Very, very few political leaders do better in their second or terminal terms and in Nigeria it is widely known to be a term of retirement benefits, political pensions and gratuities. I was speaking to an SA to an unnamed governor a few days ago and he made it clear that this term was for settlement. Legacy is not a Nigerian word. Be warned. No pity for you folks in that state if the wrong choice is made or if no choice is made. |
GeoAfrikana:Though I said previously that this amongst other such matters should have been handled by negotiation and understanding but the islamic religion as practiced in Nigeria has gone much, much further in mixing issues with state, with the constitution, with the judiciary and criminal justice system in general. In a few words, they started all these. |
I really need a leader that can inspire folks. Who has the vigour and vim to transmit a 'can do ' spirit, positive vibes to galvanise society towards greater responsibility, productuvity, independence and prosperity. When nations face tough challenges everyone needs a Kennedy type of leader, a leader that challenges their inherent abilities and unleashes their potentials in a manner that unifies the citizens across tribal and religious fault lines especially amongst the youth. If our leaders are readers they should tap into the lives of these iconic leaders across historical times. There is too much negativity about this leadership it is stiffling this country and stunning ber citizens into hopelessness. Almost everytime Mr. President travels out you hear one depressing discord or the other. He is either scolding his citizens like a testy headmaster or berating the institutions of this country into absolute perplexity. One is beginning to suspect that the present leadrership of this country may indeed be closet socialists. What else can explain this recurrent negativity. |
