midnighter:Hmmm...serious. Then the woman is a walking miracle, just one stress away from calamity. A&E should be her port of call this morning. Folks are just playing bingo with their lives. |
otunbadreautos:So how do you take her to see a doctor without telling her the reasons for seeking medical help. Please, anyone you cannot have a frank and open discussion with cannot be considered a relation to you. What kind of thinking is this. By the way she should have informed the husband a long time before that. I just cannot understand what marraiges are becoming these days. Folks just live anyhow with enamored secrets and useless agendas. The mum's burden is her burden and so becomes the burden of the husband automatically. What is there to hide. |
Take her to the hospital for a proper scan. It is far reaching but not entirely impossible that foreign objects and other post procedural contaminants remained after the miscarraige. I have heard of such before but it was noticed after a much shorter interval, weeks, not the decades as will be in this case. |
Not falling for this.Is it not the beaches I saw during last year's end festivities with flies everywhere and hookers causing a nuisance...hmm Anyway if SriLanka can advertise pristine beaches and tropical splendour on CNN. anything is possible... |
Femeto:We've had foreign born and schooled footballers domainate the national team in numbers not ever seen before but unfortunately it still has not returned us to the heady heights of 94' when our team was essentially substantialy home grown with few having ever stepped outta Nigeria, but with a gaffer who knew his onions. Foreign players have long lost their allure in my eyes. And from the above analysis it is evident that a quality manager is just as, if not more important to our National teams. For heavens sake Lionel Messi just cannot cut it for the Albiceleste simply because the Argentine FA is a calamity witu human DNA. Let us emphasise and demand better management and stop all this idolatry please. |
We don't need him. He is not technically better than his peers in the the Eagles and is unlikely to improve if he joins Nigeria so what exactly is the point. The unfolding sad drama of Iwobi's career path is a pointer to that fact. Iwobi will have been a much better player if he played for England. He has gained nothing playing for Nigeria. The sum is simple. Nigeria needs an overly, exceptionally gifted player to make an impact in and for our national team to make up for our patent lack of tactically competent coaches. The only thing possible in Nigeria is to 'milk' the skills of players and unfortunately Tammy doesn't have enough milk so let us just let him go. |
Of course. Every government is bound to favour someone. It all depends on what that individual or organisation stands for. If this government favours MURIC better than any government before it of course it will be adjudged as best. Like I will continue to stress. No two Nigerians can agree on what a forward gear looks like in the vehicle of national development. That is why as a nation we continuue to go round in circles as no one desires to let go of the steering wheel of progress. That is fhe bane of nationhood and the primary reaaon why some want out of this arrangement. Nations are built on successful integration of discordant views and ideologies. No one party to the marraige gets all it desires. That is the only way progress is made. We on the other hand believe our success must be totally at the expense of the other party and believe we can develop in this kind of abusive relationship. That is why Nigeria and Nigerians are the poorest, most desolate and most miserable citizens on earth. We just cannot understand what integration for success means. MURIC can say all it likes. The United Nations statistics are clear for all to read concerning all manner of indices of life and living and how much progress this goverment has made in the last 4 years. That is my benchmark of successful leadership. |
Just back to work after a well deserved rest. Open for businesa today, fully at work. Not a civil servant so our calendar is different. |
Been telling you Lagos folks for years now. The Sky News report on climate change a few days ago was even more damning, the results of which are clear. The biggest polluters China and the United States are running neck and neck to the economic trophy tape so both will not cease pumping carbon into the air anytime soon. But you folks should not make too much noise until I have exploited the Lekki corridor and the property market to its fullest before bailing out by 2025 (at the most), then I guess it will all be downhill from there as far as house prices go. My guess is that by the time my kids will be buying their own homes the only thing standing in that axis will be the Dangote refinery behind a monumental sand bank.... because he can afford it. Others will have to take a ferry from Ikeja to the Dangote Island passing the sunken Lagos and Victoria Islands gasping in utter amzement at what has become like Venice. Folks, Lagos Island, Victoria Island, Lekki Peninsula, Portharcourt, Yenegoa and other such places have no viable long term prospects. We have done a long term climate risk assessment in our operations in the south and the prognosis is dire. The solutions are simple, if it cannot float then we are not going long term. One of my partners actually asked me two years back after seeing the computer generated models of sea level ingress into our operational area whether concrete could float. I told him quite frankly..... we need such miracles in Nigeria going forward. Call it GDP, call it resources, call it income, call, it livelihood or investments but all I know is that as a nation, 90 to 95 percent is located within 20 to 30 miles from the Atlantic and is in direct crosshairs of ocean surge and one of the greatest challenges modern man has ever encountered, climate change. We are in big, big trouble in this country. Our greatest undoing will be our inability to diversify. Our greatest Achilles heel is our herd mentality in rushing to the coast for survival. |
Glad to be back to work after a short annual leave. Flew straight to one of my operational bases in the south-south and straight into a meeting yesterday with the legal representatives of one of my new foreign clients. The meeting ended with a curious question... '...by the way, where are you from?... I looked at the man, his weather beaten , wrinkled face for a moment, deciding whether to accept all the stress I had shed over the past two weeks and totally waste all the time spent away from work. I just closed my folder and bade the old man and his team a good day. Five minutes later I was on whatsapp to the UK relating the events of the meet and my friend laughed out loud saying, 'don't mind the silly man...it is my company and it is my vision...'. Very poignant. As Nigeria marks her 59 year in existence, this is my independence experience. It is clear what the problems are. We operate for dozens of offshore companies and clients whose only requirements is for performance and best practice. More often than not their Nigerian representatives are a whole world away in very dark, dingy places in their minds and souls. With this. Nigeria just cannot improve. I am so sorry for the peoples of this country. Have a happy independence for those on holidays. We are at work. |
pocohantas:Perhaps it is because folks in employment are usually the ones with so much time on their hands they bother the rest of society with unrealistic, 'out of touch with reality' nuances. Take for instance the minimum wage issue. Despite consuming far more resources than its productivity, despite contributing in no small way to the destruction of the economy, civil servants xontinue to trouble the rest of Nigeria on the infamous minimum wage, a quest beyond the reality od the day that has resulted in addirional taxation that will hit entrepreneurs hard. Perhaps if Nigeria was run like a business with the spirit of enterprise in it we will be more like the Trump led country, successful and more at peace. |
Once again the ignorance of this country abounds for all to see. The electoral tribunal has ruled on the Presidential elections. All you hear is Buhari wins, Atiku loses. You have heard no comments or debates on the institutions that ran the process. What went erong or right, what needs to be done to ensure this will be the last presidential election tribunal. In the midst of victories and defeats, no lessons are learned so mistakes are bound to be repeated and worsened when in a few weeks all will be forgotten. Same here, all we hear about P&ID is Yaradua yesterday, Jonathan today, Belgore tomorrow. No one has thought out how this came about in the first place, the institutional failures and a thorough inquest into the processes so that lessons can be learned and such incidences avoided in the future. So, blame, cane and jail the offenders all you like, if the system that brought that botched contract about is still in play like I strongly believe it is with the sordid contractual stories we heard in the first term of this government as exposed by Ibe Kachiukwu tjen we have not paid our last fine. I have personally made mistakes all my life with people and processes that surround me. My attitude has always been this: The day of the mistake or accident will be the worst. Every next minute after the mistake must be better starting with a right attitude. I simply donot mourn, buck pass or dilly-dally. I recompense immediately, analyse the error route and swiftly put measures in place to ensure it never repeats. The latter is what I spend my time doing. What I see in government and amongst the vast majority of Nigerians in reaction to this incident is just typically ignorant, lazy and the very reason we often find ourselves at a loss, that is the curse of the black man's organisational defeciencies. His penchant for personalising everything which is just as terrible as his lust for feudalism. |
Shows how hard the Premiership is. Average players go to other leagues and become superstars, winning silverware here and there but few make it the other way round. |
ursullalinda:Though I am all for raising income from no matter where what I dislike totally is the expenditure side. The public servuce in this country is far too expensive for us to afford. The role of government in any sense of the way is just to organise society, period. And I simply cannot understand why the adminstration of any enterprise should consune more than the purpose of the enterprise. This is a recipe for bankruptcy. If you are a trader and your shop rent is more than the amount used in stocking your shop what will be your future. If you are in engineering and you spend more money buying Landcruisers and pickups than cranes, generators and pumps then your future is a sure blacklist. If you run a school and the budget of your non academic staff is higher than that of your teachers, failure at genwral examinations is a given. So if you expend 60, 70 percent of your national budget paying wages for the adminstration of roads, schools, hospitals, security you will certainly have more potholes, ignorance, illness and crime on an escalating basis. No one has forced anyone to join the civil service. It is a call to serve. Every profession and enterprise has its challenges and demands its sacrifices. Every business venture haa its tough times. If a civil servant cannot cope he or she should simply resign foe something he feels is a greener pasture afterall it is they who are ultimately responsible for the poor state of the Nigerian economy. It is they who have connived with politicians to run this country down rather than side with the citizens to serve them well. If the VAT rate rise was for development purposes, to build infrastructure, to invest in industry, even ro expand social security, I will be pleased because it will have a return. But to tax for recurrent expenditure which is already disproportionately high is just disgusting. |
What are we talking about.? What is the noise for when virtually every government appointee and employee sabotages his country on a daily basis. Is it because this is a world record penalty? Have we suddenly forgotten the allegations by the immediate past Under Secrerary for Petroleum, Mr Ibe Kachiukwu that a whole series of procurement contracts were awarded without due process early in the life of this administration. Till date the matter is left hanging till another government is presented with a default liability then we get the details. Even the National Assembly, our watchdog has remained as silent as an obedient poodle or shall I say, Executive lap dog. This is how the citizens of this country willingly accept that their country is run and their patrimony shared amongst the feudal overlords. Several more P&ID's have happened since then at various levels and continue to happen in this government that is adamant in not changing the status quo. |
Keep your head on your shoulders and ignore the predatory press and mercenary agents. It is not how well alone but how long ot lasts. Superstars share a DNA of consistency. |
BMW SUV's just donot have the persona of officialdom. Wonder why? |
StrikeBack:And let the people hope and hope and hope while they empty the cookie jar at night. Hear this folks IF YOUR HOPE IS IN A POLITICIAN YOU ARE MORE THAN RETARDED. Democracy is not about hope. It as about trading. You sell your vote for a TANGIBLE ITEM AND YOU WILL NOT LEAVE THE MARKET SQUARE UNTIL THE ITEM IS IN YOUR POSESSION. |
It is sctually a good scenario. The atmosphere indicates it is the rainy season and all but concrete roads are possible anywhere in Nigeria right now. The size and finish of thd drain also indicates a level of competency. Why he has to walk in the drain is entirely his fault and those of his fellow citizens who will not drive the process at the right time. The bus of government runs on time only when the citizens are at the wheel. |
Of course weak institutions will always be toyed with. |
The tardiness at the federal level is contagious. Very soon whole administrations will come and go without even as much as a mouse squeak. The personalization of government is in full swing. Laws, edicts, best practices, institutionals are dying everywhere. Quality of governance continues to retreat across board. The only thing that works in government circles are 'night visits' as posited by Wike, that is government by contractors and for contractors, the kind of underhand administrations that ended Nigeria with a 9 billion naira bill for crooked services not rendered. That is why they all hesitate to roll out the human tools of governance of policies and programs.... to clean the crime scene and bury the corpses before institutional scrutiny can be installed. |

That is not a good sign at all.... it might be as serious as a cardiac event. Those are classic hypertension signatures....but again it might not. Persistent pain in that region and in that way cannot be a tea party. |
TheGiftedOne:Just didn't want to answer him. Not everyone or everything is worth replying.... It doesn't get bigger than the UCL and as a kid it was beyond a dream for the young Kanu.. ..then all Holland was heading to Italy.. and he found himself with Internazionale... and the rude shock... I personally thought he was going to be the next George Weah on the blue side of Milan because the style of both men were similar though Kanu did not have the physique of big George.... it however turned out to be a nightmare..... |
Location has nothing to do with prosperity and in an age of technology the world is a far smaller place and in the age of the internet walls are now all but transparent. The key to your difficulties stem from a recurring statement.... advertising. I continue to believe advertising is the easiest subsidy we offer in place for a quest for excellence. The better a product or service the less advertising is required to create wealth out of it. You started with referals but I am 100 percent certain that somwhere along the line you could not manage success and quality slipped. This is the reason for 80 percemt of failures associated with Nigerian enterprises. Like fhe laws of physics say: When volume increasess temperature cools. To maintain heat pressure has to be increased with volume. IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO MAINTAIN PRESSURE WHEN EXPANSION COMES WITH SUCCESS The remedy is simple. Retrace steps and start from scratch. Close down all ancillaries and focus on your core business. Focus brings intensity, intensity is a platform for excellence. Excellence over a long period of time will guarantee success. BTW: Excellence simply means delivering a product or service that simply cannot be matched, cannot be rivaled. It is not a destination but a journey of discovery. It is a spirit. |
What makes Kanu identify with more with Arsenal as 'his club' when he enjoyed more success with Ajax. |
77up:Oga. There is no country in the world that gives politicians the benefit of doubt. There is no developed country (mark the word - developed) on earth where politicians are not held in suspicion, no country in the world where politicians are not at the bottom of the ladder of public opinion... except in nations such as Nigeria with absolutely docile inhabitants. What is the point in defending an individual who has no iota of interest in your existence. Even nations that constantly advance and develop are not satisfied with the way they are governed and always push their leaders, but Nigerians with the worst set of political leaders still find it in themselves to shield them vigorously from public angst. Will you tell me after 4 years you donot know the personality and pedigree of that governor.... Keep playing the ostrich with your destiny..... |
adeiza4u:Your response is exactly whst he means. You will rather 'jet out' than face the issues. 'A reflection of the society' he means is that thorns grow when the garden is not tendered because the farmer is too lazy to cultivate. The citizens of those countries you run to did not flee from misgovernance to Africa or the moon. They stood and fought for a better future, a future you now seek to flee to and they are still fighting throughout the developed world as we speak from the States in the west to HongKong in the east. So whenwver you get there you will remain the odd one out in a society that offers itself to constant change for the better. But Nigerians typically are not willing to sacrifice anything... just like Yahaya Bello. They flee so that the weeds grow. |
princfred:It is simple. He made a vast number of people happy by his trade....and that brought him success, wealth and the few moments of joy he ever knew. Then he turned to give only himself presumptuous joy by selfishly lavishing and the result was neither did he get the lasting happiness and the then the wealth is gone. That is what selfishness gets you. That is why Nigeria is poor. Invest your life in making the life of others a bundle of joy, making folks around you succeed. Do this constantly and you will have all.... wealth, success and lasting happiness. But Nigerians will do the exact opposite. Ruin their country, run abroad and make the lives of the naively innocent ones there a misery by wanton criminality. That is why we donot experience the grace for good living. |
Hmm.... very apt. Hope Nigerians can hear this. That is why this country is in such a mess. The mindset of Prince Boateng is integrated in the DNA of the average Nigerian. Materialism will and can never bring happiness. Man was not created for things. He was created for one another. Success, happiness, love, joy are all human relationship indices. You can only have them sincerely when you are capable of transmitting them or reflecting them in the lives of those around. |
Lugianostar:Simple. The stability of the nation is paramount. It is not that Wike or other right minded people vouch for the elections or accept the incumbent was duly elected free and fair but the consequences of a change of government at this point in time where internal security is on a knife edge and could go sideways very easily, when the economy is also on a cliff edge and any jolt could push it deeper into recession.... Like I said previously the best the nation can hope to get from this inquest is solid electoral reforms and stronger institutions along best practices. If the INEC, the Judiciary, the security services, etc are not improved after this, then all is totally lost and whoever basks and boasts in victory today will definitely mourn tomorrow just as Atiku rejoiced and perhaps mocked his political adversaries just a few years ago knowing not that the crooked route he took will end up an intractable maze of mystery in the future for him. We should all be circumspect and always look at the bigger picture and decide in favour of what is best for the country and the institutions that should run it rather than the passing interests of individuals whose footprints will fade like those on a wind swept, wave drenched beach. Wike is just ready to move on. So should every Nigerian. Learn the lessons, reform the system and move on. |
Glad it is over. I hope we can now rest with the government we have elected for ourselves. No more excuses. |
