'My sheep know my voice...and they will not follow the voice of a stranger' (para). The key to successful Christian living is knowledge. And the two most important things to know in all of Christianity is: the knowledge of the 'personality' of God and the knowledge of the 'voice' of God. When a child is born it doesn't know anything, how to read, write and comprehend. It grows by exercising its senses. First the sense of smell (the mother gives off strong signals from birth and during lactation), then of touch (cannot sleep without contact), then of taste (everything goes to the mouth), then of hearing (turning its head to familiar sounds), then of sight (begins to identify and recognise faces and features). A child grows in knowledge of the personalities around it turning its vulnerability into relationship. Why is it that Christians donot develop spiritual senses stage by stage before seeking to crawl, walk or run. The bible makes it clear that without knowing the voice of God you are likely to be led astray by a fake shepherd. The entire essence of Christiandom is the personal relationship you have with God. Why is it that most Christians have more regards for public relationships. They will gladly share things with their pastors they will not even share with God. They will gladly have endless church meetings but cannot spend a minute in personal communion with God. Busy with stuff, poor in relationships, like a couple who prepares wedding cakes and gown and parties but not themselves for themselves so when the parties are over they are like strangers. Pastors are merely shepherds to guide you to a point of growth when your spiritual senses mature enough for you to hear the Shepherd of your soul. So you develop before you venture. You know before you go. My personal formula is ten personal church services with my bible and in prayer to God, to one in public (in church) listening to what I donot know. And my view is that 'church' is like school to which you must graduate from to become a teacher yourself some day and the pastor is like a lecturer who teaches but at some point in time you must begin to 'practice'what you know. Since Jesus rose from the grave we have been sealed with a better covenant that gives us full acess to the throne of grace and to God. No more someone interpreting what God wants us to hear and do and be. We can hear Him directly, relate with Him personally, do the things only He asks us to do and so be intimate like a son is to a father. If you desire these things and do them you will never be scammed but have all your desires met and be guaranteed of heaven because you can be certain God will never scam you. Get to know Him personally. |
ibibiofirstlady:Which man of God. Better start thinking and understand what the kingdom of God is all about before you get deceived. In the first place. God has absolutely nothing to do with politics, governments or other worldly endeavours. His only objective on earth here after the fall of man is to restore him to sonship. So don't mistaken prophesy with forecasting or fortune telling. That is spiritism or mysticism. Prophesy only relates our present situation with God's preset destination in our earthly walk with Him. God is not interested who is the President of the United States, Canada, Nigeria or Sudan as he wasn't interested in who was Pharaoh in Egypt or the Emperor of Rome. The disciples of Jesus wanted to know God's view on their oppression by Rome but Jesus did not want to be drawn into politics. Read your bible. The laws and ordinances have been set since the beginning for nations, for communities and for individuals and the blessings for obedience and penalties for disobedience are clear. God only knows those called by His name. He doesn't dabble into activities. Like name dropping a lot of people misuse the Name of God to further their personal agendas. That pastor just gambled on politics hoping that if he won by predicting right people like you will be impressed into believing what he will say next. The fact that he then 'prophesied' another untruth (what was the business of God in that lady's marriage as God doesn't know her) shows the man is either a con or is ignorant and should not be taken seriously by you or anyone. Go after facts and biblical truths. Know about God and not just listen to stories about Him and it will set you free. God Almighty has no business running around mundane issues with insignificant individuals such as Hilary Clinton or that Afie or whatever is her name. That is for humans with their shortsighted, emotional laden lives. |
msylva2147:My brother, a hundred naira that I cannot remember the last time I saw one.... just a hundred naira...pathetic. Such a lovely looking lady. You just weep for this country. A country that eats its citizens alive. |
100 whot?... and we say this country is alright with nothing to change except corruption.... and after two and a half years of no corruption... |
DanseMacabre:Through deception aka false pretences or swindling. It is a criminal offence in the same mould as the popular '419' aka 'pie in the sky blues'... |
rhoci:On the first part: Don't mind them. They cannot see past personalities to processes and principles. This is typical of people who lack the capacity to contribute anything meaningful to society, often hoping on someone else to take their responsibilities and blaming such when the impending disappointments mature. I just wonder why after two years some cannot just get over an election that was won and lost to which even the principal actors have moved on. Who remains at a cinema or in a stadium two and a half years after a show is over or a contest is won or lost. Nigerians should wake up. |
FutureLeader00:Your STUDIES will suffer because of this you say. ln ten years read this line again, sit back and wonder... |
If you spray am dey waka you go just dey do leg over for wahala. |
Nigerians are so lazy. Always waking at noon. Anyway good morning. |
Benz4pimp:FIFA has every business with every official football match in the world. As long as it is a professional contest. It is they who set the rules for the round leather game the basis of any legal or non legal case. If for argument sake Juventus went to the CAS it is FIFA that will be called to interpret the rules and laws of the game with UEFA role simply supervisory. If a little riot takes place in your local stadium and folks lose their lives you think FIFA will wait for CAF or if your government interferes in footballing matters. |
ubox:Laugh oh African...it is one step after the other. Change doesn't spring like a trap. It creeps like a thief. |
shervydman:It is your business. You guys hate the truth so you are going to suffer a slow painful death as a country. These are nations with vision. Who do you choose to leads yours. They say restructure you say no. The militants wants you off their oil you say no. They say diversify you say increase oil production. They say your economic policies are failed you say the economy is tight because oil prices are low. Almost every country I know bordering on the ocean is discovering oil offshore. With global warming the artic is opening for the biggest oil finds in history and the Russians are hellbent on exploring it. The result in decades to come is unprecedented oil production facing a surging electric economy. The big industrial powers of Asia namely Japan, China and Korea have no oil so they will gladly tune their industrial capacity away from oil leaving only Africa and the middle-east in a quandary and the social upheavals in those regions will set the stage for the wars to end the world. It doesn't take a genius to see this coming a long way out. |
positivetaught:Told you guys that by 2019 everyone will be demystified. Anyway it was interesting while it lasted....we have now seen through the hype and hopes....but reality must at some point return home. Nigerians must always study their history when making important political decisions. |
Having multiple phones and all the networks is just common sense in my opinion. I have all the networks on seperate phone and two tabs for data. That is six. None is practical, none is reliable. In Nigeria having multiple redundancies is common sense. The service industry is piss poor. Imagine trying to make a transfer over the holidays and the recepient didn't get it till the following day. Why wouldn't you have multiple accounts you can access through multiple networks via multiple devices. I hate failure of any kind. |
GavelSlam:I don't think you quite understand what is going on. In a nutshell what the unchecked violence means is that: You simply cannot have democratic elections in that region void of religion and ethnicity because the consequences of a non-indigenous candidate winning are dire and can be truncated at the push of a button, the religiois and ethnicity button. If protests were the end to all means, proper contests can take place but until the potential for unbridled violence is curtailed true democracy cannot work. And how do you curtail violence without justice. Who has been held accountable for the several deaths in the past. Of a single political elite can spur such violent backlash, it will take the magnimity of elites in that region to 'permit'candidates of other regions to win in their localities. It is like your opponent in a boxing match faking being beaten inorder to let you win. Is that a contest. That has been the mentality in that region since independence. They 'let' others rule when they desire to and take 'their' power whenever they want. The alternative is violence which the state cannot seem to curtail. Only restructuring can solve this problem.Without that democracy is most parts of Nigeria will collapse in a few years. That is what IPOB is trying to emulate by seeking to control elections or not in the east. Is that good. |
This is the social injustice we constantly talk about, that we all know but pretend not to. That certain sections of the country are above the law in their acts and utterances. Today they say the east is formenting the storm that will lead to violence. They on the other hand just do the violence wily-nily and no one is every held accountable..... ever. For how long can this go on. Today I am more fearful of the incumbent losing elections than the east pressing for secession when it comes to violence because in the former it is almost certain, a given that lives will be lost but in the latter the lives that have been lost so far are only those of the agitators themselves. Today despite the agitation for secession there is peace everywhere in the east. Nigerians of all tribes go about unmolested because that is not the cause. The truth about the desire for self actualisation has nothing to do with religion or the hatred for other tribes but of justice and equity. The threat of violence and war has been trumpeted by the 'owners of Nigeria' alone, the same folks who will kill others out of hatred and religious intolerance. Those who will readily mix the toxic potions of politics with ethnicity and religion at the drop of a hat, those the state cannot prosecute. The quest to establish a new threashold for 'hate speech' in my view is just a way to stifle the desires of Nigerians to freely express themselves. They know the igbo man will not just wake up one morning and storm the market place to slaughter non indigenes for whatever reason. It has never happened. They know he has only been talking since 1970. Now even that is to be silenced. No matter how bad the output is, to deprive the anus of self expression is a certain painful death. Time is running out for this country. |
ImperialYoruba:. People own homes all over the world. Must you be a citizen of a country to own a house, own a business or eat a plate of garri at any location. Nigerians own houses in Ghana, Benin, Yaounde, South Africa, etc. Are they citizens of those countries. Buratai owns houses in Dubai. Is he an Arab from the Emirates. No be visa I'm go take go there. Igbos can and do own property anywhere in the world. It has nothing to do with self determination. Nigeria breaks or not, those properties remain their own and if Nigeria is a lawful entity it will guarantee the security of such investments. Failure to do so will lead to massive disinvestment from all foreign investors, not just the Igbos. The proof is whether Nigeria remains a lawful entity breakup or not so let no one think it is an open and shut case. There will he massive problems on both sides. |
As long as Buratai can own houses abroad 'from his savings' every senior civil servant should have one too, thoughtless of career politicians who pay themselves from the treasury, thoughtless of private business men who become politicians and then recover their lifetime taxes in one imprest... look everyone including Sahara should just go and sleep abeg. Corruption is constitutional and patriotic. It is the only thing that unites Nigerians. It is our national heritage and tradition. |
Funny. What kind of man will stay in the house the whole day with the help. |
Quality20:hmmm...governor to vice-president...sacrifice indeed....you people eh... na only God go save una.... |
Typical primitive African. The summary of his life is what goes into his stomach. That is his legacy to mankind. |
Okay we will encourage them to dismantle or demolish so that you can sleep in peace. Just be consistent in your criticism of governments round the country or you will just be another sectional Nigerian. You need to have seen Uyo ten to fifteen years ago before making this comment. |
He should just resign and find something better to do with his life. It is just not worth it. Universities are being overrun by hoodlums. Surely education is not as important to most as one will have thought. |
That was how Abacha hung Saro Wiwa thinking him or the Ogoni were the problem. In doing so Nigeria conceeded a large chunk of its revenue to the region, trillions of naira in derivation and still the people are not appeased, rightly so. What about the trillions spent fighting Boko Haram since the extra-judicial killing of its leader when it was still a movement not the present insurgency. Nigeria learns nothing from its crises. |
Injustice is the Achilles Heel of this country. It cannot make this country move forward and the heat generated by its friction will eventually burn it down. Now that the sun still rises on Nigeria, why not sit down together and discuss the way forward. No, they won't until its too late. The peoples who should be telling their government the truth prefer grumbling at every shuddering misstep they witness every blessed day, continuous proof that this country is just not working. |
What is ot doing there. Is it Saraki's property. It should be auctioned off and the proceeds returned to treasury before it becomes scrap. |
Misty0071:This is simply bad management. How and why has the recurrent expenses increased with dwindling revenues. Who is getting paid more for doing less. What are you saying. It is the government that has lost its sense of judgement. It shoukd cut back, increase efficiency and invest in technology to further dampen the high bills. If the oil prices have fallen by 30 percent ask yourself, what is 70 percent of a bulletproof mercedes benz limousine. Perhaps an ordinary mercedes benz limousine with better security. Invest in that. That is what sane people do. As the CEO of a state it will not take me two years to sustain expenditure. Critical thinking is required in this country not this nonsense going on. |
Immatex:Exactly. I just understand what kind of nonsense is this. Every enterprise or establishment passing through financial stress seeks to cut costs or transfrer same either temporarily or permanently. How can states be owing salaries for years now without solution and their chief executives doing nothing about it. If they cannot pay, they should cut, simple. If your revenue has gone down by 30 percent , your wage bill should go down by 40 percent to remain stable and viable. If they are borrowing to pay salaries or cutting back on potential revenue generating or revenue saving projects, the states will soon implode finacially. |
They should downsize na. What is so hard in that. Does government exist to pay salaries. What kind of rubbish is this failed contraption called the Nigerian state. |
SharkTank:Say what? The fact that we've not had a reliable left back since Iroha left the building should not make you think the poor standards set by Elderson is acceptable. The chap is a big weak link in that defence and age has further worsened the situation. He was poor against Cameroun. A half decent Camerounian wing man will havè proven this yet again. |

That is the problem with most foreign coaches aka mercenaries. They are only here for the gravy train, the Cinderella ride to international fame thus they elect to train teams with a potential to get them there and once the party is over they are gone like a shot not even forgetting their glass shoes. But to be honest what kind of allure does a Hugo Boss abi Broos provide apart frm a flattering namemblance at first sight. For him and others to think of rubbing shoulders with the stellar names of world renowned coaches is quite frankly not fair on the spirit of excellence. The biggest sporting tournament in the world deserves the biggest coaches in the world and not just cosmetic names....pun.... intended. |
