Afam4eva: We have very senseless leaders. That a school is a technological schools doesn't mean that they can't venture outside their area of core competence or focus. I totally disagree. We should have centres of excellence that pursue streamlined courses needed for our development. In the developed world even research institutes are degree awarding but deploy their resources to tackle specific needs where there is a knowledge deficit. I hope this encourages particularly the private sector to invest in higher education knowing they can take on just a piece of humanity and specializing in it. Personally it is my life's dream to establish a degree awarding centre of educative excellence in my profession and my profession only as I can see what is clearly lacking is the depth required to really excel. There is no way spreading of one's resources around can be a good things. Our colleges are gradually being eroded, diluted to grade school levels. |

Well mark zukerberg of fb that have the net worth of over 50 billion dollars can't be dreaming the way dangote is dreaming. Dangote should first buy nigeria club before beating his chest about arsenal. Arsenal isn't a club you will be dreaming every time. Arsenal is a big club. Infact arsene wenger has larger stake in arsenal club. If all the dangote asset is been sold, he can't buy arsenal not to talk of buying real madrid club. Speak about things you know. Stop embarrassing yourself on social media. Dangote is worth more than Kroenke. His refinery will be a cash cow. Banks like that and will buy the club for him. He should team up with Usmanov and shove the miserly duo (Kroenke and his pet poodle Wenger) out of the way. |

Opinionated: The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) which is the research arm of The Economist Group, publishers of The Economist magazine has ranked Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos as the 2nd least livable city according to its Global livability report 2017. The ‘Centre of Excellence’ as the city is fondly described by Nigerians placed 139th in the list and only the Syrian capital, Damascus ranked lower at 140.
Melbourne, Australia is ranked as the best city to live in the world followed by the Vienna, the capital of Austria. The trio of Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary complete the top 5.
Tehran, the Iranian capital has improved the most on the report in the last 5 years, it currently ranks 127 followed by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Abidjan in the Ivory Coast, they are ranked 74th and 129th respectively.
The EIU rating is calculated using 5 weighted categories; Stability (25%), Healthcare 20%, Culture and Environment (25%), Education (10%) and Infrastructure (20%).
Lagos scored a total of 36 points out of 100 on the ranking compared to Melbourne which scored the highest with 97.5 points, Damascus scored the least with 30.2 points.
So, what do you think? Is this a fair assessment of Lagos?
Source: http://www.opinions.ng/lagos-ranked-2nd-worst-major-city-live/ Correct assessment. It is a terrible place to live in. Just pity and praise its inhabitants. Must be supernaturally endowed to live there. |

kizyalex10: Everybody is calling dis man unprintable names without confirming d authenticity of the story, especially women.in as much as I don't support domestic violence,I have seen a woman who have made life a living hell for d husband that d man committed suicide, this is what people won't see because they will say the man killed himself, many men go through emotional nd psychological abuse but no one notices because it doesn't go with physical wound as a proof.nd nt all men will endure such toture, some men will use what they have(hand) to defend themselves against a. Woman's weapon(mouth)some people will say it's because she is nt my sister, yes like I said it bfor,i don't support domestic violence but I would advice d women ranting here about domestic violence should channel dat energy in making themselves a better woman nd wives.women re plenty but wives re few, some think marriage is where u re free to be a boss of ur own.den u lack control, some thinks it's abt quality sex, etc.d last time I checked, men control their anger more than women, for a man to react,u must have pushed him to the extreme, unlike d female counterpart who show power nd authority over every little thing.people who have worked with a male nd female boss can relate to this. Na so. If it is the woman's fault, then why is she dead....how you seek to excuse this is absolutely incomprehensible. |

Suprnov3r: I never thought the day will come when I will begin to admire a Nigerian politician. The silence of so many people now is making FFK & Fayose look like champions and hero's of the common man
Before the last election, so many fake people which includes pastors, youth leaders, emirs, obas, priests, governors were singing the praises of Buhari and telling us how an amazing person he was. ... They have all gone silent.
They no longer have visions or brilliant ideas to expose on the workings of the FG. They are all suddenly blind to the sufferings of Nigerians, blind to the ridiculous policies that threaten our democracies. They were all so eager to insult and crucify Jonathan for everything that went wrong. They always seemed to be wiser than all the ministers. Sadly their wisdom has become foolishness
Funny, the fight against gej was spearheaded by his own brothers. The North has refused to turn on buhari and the West have always made it clear all they wanted was revenge.. Oshiomole will wake up in the morning and tell you how 10 trillion naira was stolen overnight. Fashola will tell you that power could be fixed in 6 months. Mbaka will preach on how buhari is Nigeria messiah. All the northern cabal were buzy frustrating the fight against boko haram. Borno governor will say Jonathan has not visited borno since the last bombing... meanwhile he is quiet now that buhari has not visited Nigeria in months. Punch, The Nation, Channels TV, Sahara reporters and the entire media always seem to have the best lawyers come quote from our constitution on how everything gej did was wrong. Tam David west and the Lizard of ubima will scream about how useless GEJ oil policies were
They cannot be bold enough to even come out and say they were wrong and if they dont speak now may their voices be silent forever Well said. So we can see that the problem of Nigeria is essentially the people. You will have expected that the pressure groups mentioned above will have continued to mount pressure, to push until the 'baby is born' but they are silent, proving what I have said all along, it was not about the country, its wellbeing, its institutions, its life, its values and sanctity but it was all about individuals. The love for one and the hate for the other, simple. So they cannot handle the shame and disappointment of a 'cheating spouse' whom they gave their virginity. When Nigerians replace idolatry with ideology, politicking with principles and passion with introspection, please wake me up. In continuing like this, the country has no future whatsoever. When you have a dispassionate, apolitical, absolutely neutral and objective perspective like I do, you can boldly speak on all things at all times and for all purposes. I refuse to be swept away by the deceit of any individual. I just hope Nigerians come to the realisation that it is only them that can truly change this country and if respondents on this forum represent the society at large, there is little hope. More suffering is needed. |
