woodcook:Yes, that is wishful thinking. In politics you put your best foot forward while dancing to the tune of the electorate. |
Madam you know how much CAT Scan dey cost. Na expensive play you dey play so. |
moderatorr:Keep quiet. |
tbaba1234:Well he knows where to get more and will surely buy the right stuff. |
lastmessenger:Don't be ridiculous. |
Collynzo9:Oh I see. This is what I been saying about our democratic journey for years now. Equity and justice is the only corruption killer. They taste, they see it doesn't work, they resent it, they look elsewhere, inwards. Power at the centre becomes no longer attractive so the culture of 'settlement' and 'rent seeking' dies naturally. This is where I fault the APC ideology which appears to promote the old order, the structural imbalances of the north-west at the head of the buffet line while the west and east scramble for the soggy left-overs and the minorities perpetual dish washers. This will only promote the 'settlement, either or' culture that has grounded this country. You cannot honestly seek to provide the best tool for the job until you have gone through the entire tool box, the hammer, the cudgel atop the pile notwithstanding. |
waternogetemeny:Das right. Democracy is a game of numbers. Rochas thought he could go it alone and now APC is trying to go it alone. Strategic mistakes. |
spiceemman:He was charged based on his confession. The police can only hold him for 24hrs and they know murder carries no bail. The police are on their way to the scene but cannot prove within 24hrs. They have to do something. Bail him and in Nigeria he's gone forever. Logical move IMO. Without an effective rendition system our criminal justice system must depend on criminal 'confessions'. It cannot perfectly mirror that of the west. |
missterious:I see. And the boy is 18 you know. Doesn't know what he is doing too. Young, impressionable couple. Hmm. Excuses and more excuses. Raise your game to meet the challenges of changing times. Stop excuses. |
django1:Deregulation comes with production. Production drives down cost. No one will build a refinery to produce diesel alone. That is what government has been saying for years. You cannot deregulate one product and expect a proper response. Like in telecomms. You cannot sell voice and keep data. It doesn't work. When diesel was deregulated it was hoped PMS and other products will follow shortly but Nigerians resisted now we are complaining. For what. Just delayed having private refineries for years to come. Just kicking the can down the road. |
yehmi01:Its all politics. That's how democracy works. The fear of losing power viz the determination to attain it is the engine of democratic progress not necessarily the quality of the candidates. In most cases they average out across parties. Right now the two important assets power and reputation are balanced inversely between both parties. The PDP has maximum power and minimum reputation, the APC has minimum power and maximum reputation. If Nigerians decide for a reversal come 2015 the PDP will be relieved because it can rebuild its reputation in opposition while the APC will gradually lose theirs. But power will more than compensate for the inevitable loss of face.. |
fineworker24:They are in a race for the bottom. Oil prices are falling and will remain low for years to come. Total might as well cash in on this event and lay them all off. Let them return to their villages to farm and do union with grasscutter and catfish. |
If the union wants to employ her that's fine but if she is under the employment of a private firm she is obliged to go wherever she is sent. They should just elect another representative. Is she working for the union or Total. These people just ruin themselves when they cannot seperate politics from governance. Rubbish nonsense unions. People have to suffer because of their lust for power. Can the useless man speaking bring in one single dollar of foreign investment. That's how they have ruined every single government enterprise from refineries to steel plants, PHCN to the ports. And he has the guts to announce that after a 'thanksgiving service'. Bloody, lazy, bureaucrat. |
kolajoo:What did you observe. That those two are perhaps non christians going by their names.....abi. Even in the church you will find non traditional christian names. Gone are the days when people compulsorily change from Saul to Paul. To some it doesn't really matter. To others it is even an effective evangelical tool in certain places. Moreover in this particular context football is not core church activity but more of social development. Expect to find non christians working and being served in other peripheral programs such as medical, educational, construction and engineering, banking & finance and other commercial based outreaches. Are we not the ones who will accuse churches of discrimiation if the general public doesn't have access to some of these programs. Debate. |
Somewhere in Jonathan's mind I'm sure he is hoping the Supreme Court will void his eligibility so he can get out of this misfiring contraption called the Nigerian state and leave the mess for the 'messiahs' to wade through. |
Ayoolajumoke:Can be. Music is good as a creative stimulant but a terrible cognitive repressant. |
lastmessenger:I have answered this question repeatedly in many ways. You don't have to give. Just leave others who love God and what He is doing alone. |
From my balcony I can see another procession of trucks with loud speakers for yet another church program this December and I'm so glad. Not my church (what is 'my' church) but someone, some people paid for the trucks, the generators, the speakers, the music, the handbills and flyers so that no matter what the event is all about, at the end of each session, of each day, an altar (alter) call will be made and someone will get a shot at knowing Jesus. Poster, let the man keep his money. Those of you who give have saved numerous souls from death that you know not of but will be credited to you on the day of reckoning. |
stagger:God bless you. May your streams become rivers of abundance so that you will be a living witness of what God is doing, gradually seperating the wheat from the chaff. He is faithful. |
lastmessenger:Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of your faith. Of your faith. My pastor is not the author and finisher of my faith. I donot give because my pastor says so. I give because Jesus says so. So I can never be offended. By faith Abel gave a better offering than Cain....read the rest. Who was there with both of them, no one. So it means you cannot even give to God without any human involvement. Where is your faith mister. |
doug:They are always looking into other peoples' wallets raving and ranting at what they give in church. No one is ever forced to give. If they donot want to why seek to prevent others. What is the agenda. They are terrified at the explosive expansion of the church this end times and donot want to be left alone to face the music. Bad news. You will be left alone. By the time you realise it those you think are your fellow atheists will have accepted Jesus and left you alone. Don't under-estimate what God can do. Continue hardening your hearts. |
lastmessenger:You cannot love God with your 'brains'. Just forget it. You cannot be a believer. 'With the heart a man believes unto righteousness.....with the mouth is confession made unto salvation' (para). If God came to earth with a calculator and estimated the probability of saving man, Jesus will not have died on the cross, its that simlple. |
frosbel:You don't give for the sole purpose of being blessed. You give first because you love. The blessings come later. Anyone can have the trappings of blessings. Jesus spoke of the rich man who went away sad because he like most of you couldn't give. There was no account that Jesus or the Father was angry at him and did anything untowards. Christianity is a faith. If the rain fell on only believers, people will seek God just because of rain, not because they love Him. You too will not like a relationship where the party is in it because of what they an get alone. You will want to be loved, trusted and respected for who you are and you will test this and reward this at your own time. Christianity remains a Faith. Logic cannot work. You just cannot understand us. |
dabriggs:Well Christianity is a Faith and flies in the face of worldly logic. That is why God says we are not of the world. Our eyes are firmly set on Jesus who similarly faced many, many contradictions. When people pay certain offerings they are: Not looking at man, but are looking at God. They are principled after the fact that offerings are most times 'burnt', that is destroyed, that is consumed without recourse, that is unaccountable. Finally, that if a sacrificial offering is not 'painful', and depriving, then its of little value irrespective of the quantity. And much more. These things my friend will be impossible for a man of little faith to grasp thoughtless of an unbeliever. I dare to tell you that as the world gets harder and priests become greedy, our faith in the Word should grow stronger and we give even more to pull further away from the crowd. That is faith. |
Firstly poster, if you love you will give. The same way you try to impress your girlfriend, your spouse, your parents is the same way you should try and impress the God you claim you love. 'For God so loved the world that He gave....' In fact, you can give without loving but you cannot love without giving. Secondly, you may ask but God is not in need. True. He is the Author and Creator of all so why are we asked to give. Because God wants us to be partakers of His nature which is love thereby expunging from our system the worldly way of lust and greed. It is a platform of opportunity. It is a theatre of proof that one has escaped the power of satan that desires us to accumulate more and more. All great men of wealth and power in scriptures were tested. Some passed, some didn't. Thirdly, Cain brought pickings of his huntings and Abel, produce of cultivation because those were the jobs available then. That was the currency of exchange. In the New Testament Peter offered his boat to Jesus as an offering. He was a fisherman. Jesus watched as the poor widow threw coins into collection. She was able to monetise her offerings. No one stops you from bringing whatever you wish unto the Lord but in these days of a unitary system of exchange in commerce and enterprise the easiest (for you the giver and the receiver) way to offer value will be through money. As in tithes it is quantifiable and best represents the produce of whatever effort God has enabled you make at work. Even if you were a farmer today I doubt if you will take kindly to your boss paying you in catfish, eggs or ugwu leaves. |
kossyablaze:God is not interested in your politics. He has laid out principles together with consequences. He does not discriminate. God has an agenda and can actualize it through anyone of any faith. Remember Jesus died when the Romans, not the Jews were in-charge in Jerusalem. |
Adeoba10:I know. That a prominent person will die, that riots will breakout in Burma...to what end. It is not God's Word. It doesn't promote His agenda. It is not His Will so how can it be from Him. |
Fabdedon:I often hear this in Christian circles and I view the discordant principles with respect to the old and new testaments. In the old testament God did a lot of 'offensive' work while in the new testament because of Jesus God saves the 'individual'. Believe me God doesn't know and doesn't care how many planes satan intends to crash but He provides comprehensive cover for 'whosoever' wishes as contained in prophesies. To be honest the greater your faith in His Word the less you have to worry about what Satan is doing. That is God's mentality. Our prayers as maturing Christians should be, let thy will be done as opposed to prayers of fear at potential satanic attacks. |
Nihilist:'I have come (Jesus) that they may have life and life abundantly'. 'Brethren I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper...even as your soul does'. 'And he died at a ripe old age surrounded by His children'.....and still going to heaven. My friends, life is a choice. Make the good one. |
Poznan:I repeat again, simplified. Prophesies are made by the ability and will of the speaker while in predictions the speaker is observing events he has no control off. When Jesus was asked when He will return He said He did not know. He could not 'predict' it because the events leading up to it are not in His control but to God, He has prophesied that Jesus will return because He has the power to and has set the events of the end time in motion. As humans alone we can only predict, we cannot prophesy. We have little power to influence events. Anyone claiming to foretell events is only doing so through mediums that have the powers to influence events. So if I tell you a plane will crash I have the ability and will to crash that plane. The bible is an expository of the will and power of God. |
joseph1832:Your name or mine is not in the bible. The New Testament Living Faith speaks of 'whosoever'. Anyone and everyone is welcome. |
adexsimply:Okay, let me try. The only one who knows what is going to happen is whom has the power and intent to make it happen. Whatever God has the power and intent to do He makes it known. God doesn't have the power and intent to kill, steal and destroy so He cannot predict it, He cannot do it. God cannot predict what you will do because you have a will. He can only seek to influence you positively. Similarly He cannot predict what Satan will do so He creates a way out for us. What God has done right from the beginning is to create His Will by His Word irrespective of any unpredictable situation. He has an agenda and is less concerned what the devil is doing. So He sends His agenda to us out of love in the form of prophesies. We can tap into them to make His agenda real or we can do as we or Satan wills with 'predictable' consequences. Does this help. |
