Nigerians are just interested in the currency notes not in the people depicted on them most of whom died not particularly wealthy. Her legacy will live on. In saner societies her pieces will adorn the galleries of the movers and shakers earning wealth for her dependants for generations to come assuaging the sacrifices they will have made in her lifetime. Life shoukd be fairer to the seed of these icons.

Exporting What We Don't Produce and Importing What we Flare Since 1960!

Following the bright idea of bringing in refined oil products from Niger we now move on to importing natural gas from Niger while we continue flaring gas in the Delta and leaving gas in the ground. Such progress under GEJnomics! Yet even this is touted as a policy success!

At least the North is weaning itself off moribund naija. It has its own army (cJTF), its regional economic and energy linkages and its emirs rule kingdoms that span beyond naija. I hope Tinubu and his boys are learning how it is done.

We need an LNG regassifier at Egbin and all along the SW coast to deliver the more than 20,000MW the SW needs for prosperity. We need to accelerate development of the LEKOIL field and Aje even as we need to accelerate exploration on and offshore the SW. Ondo fields need to be optimally exploited. Bitumen can't be allowed to waste any longer. Oodua moneybags should pour their billions into these areas.

The bluff of the ND should be called and we should be the ones to propose the amicable break up of what was the Blackman's best hope for redemption. We can restart from zero and ally with like minded people in Bendel, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana etc if we think we need scale. All we have gotten for five decades from being part of this nation has been abuse and retardation. We should leave oil and governance to those who believe they own both.
Stop whinning. You should have done these 40 years ago.

MOU is not a contract. It is a framework loosely binding agreement. We will take them serious when contracts are signed. Also transporting LNG to the North is a crazy idea. If the plan is to use trucks that will carry LNG to a new regasification plant, the idea needs a lot of study.
No they said the gas is coming from Nigeria Republic. I don't know which is more ridiculous. Why must it be gas. Gas. Gas all the time. Can't they exploit the resources abundantly available in those regions. Why are we so thin on ideas in this country. Na wah.

Hahaha bro. Which history? The only history you may mean is the culture of muslims taking up arms against Christians when they feel their holy prophet, book or leader has been desecrated like what happened in Denmark some years back and a few months ago in Katsina. Is that the history you meant?
No sir, I mean like the Rwandan genocide.

So far, we all know that the present Administration is full of white lies and schemes!

When they ask you to stand, please run for your life! Don't take madam fat jaws too seriously! grin

She spins lies from her offices as Coordination Minister of the economy and Minister of finance! What a feat..

Conclusively, no cause for alarm yet she hastily introduced austerity measures! She didn't know she has already sounded the trumpet..

Yeye dey smell
So introducing austerity measures is a sign that she's lying. What sort of thinking is this. If fire breaks out and the firemen tell you not to panic and then go ahead to cut power and begin demolition does it mean they are lying or incompetent. Is positive action now a sign of incompetence. Or you prefer no action or you want to panic by force. Oya panic na.

Austerity measures is the standard operating procedure for dwindling incomes for any financial entity be it an individual, corporation or nation. Austerity simply means reducing your expenses with its attendant consequences.

chamboy:
Mubi, the biggest commercial town in Adamawa state, was thrown into chaos the day
Boko Haram descended on them and the people found themselves running for their lives.
The terrorists shot sporadically, killing a lot of people while those who could escape
jumped into any available car to run to safety.
Christians,Muslims, Igbos, Yorubas, Tivs, Hausas and any tribe or religion,
jumped onto any vehicle that was headed outside the town.
Soldiers scampered onto trucks with civilians, begging to be saved,
hundreds of people who could not get a vehicle ran into the hills.
In their frantic effort to stay alive, no one paid attention to anybody's religion
or ethnicity before asking them for help or helping them to stay alive.
It was a community of people, united by their desire to
escape the common enemy that hunted them all without discrimination.
Ethnicity and religion vanished, all they were left with was their humanity. Those climbing the hills stayed
together, helping one another stay on their feet
as they all tried to survive.

The most interesting part of the narrative is that
the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Badeh is from the same town of Mubi.
It has been reported that few hours before the attack, helicopters flew in and evacuated his family
members from the town. The chief of Defence staff by the way,
is the most senior military officer in Nigeria and he controls the army, navy and air force. Before that sad day,
someone from Mubi would have boasted that
the Chief of Defence Staff is from their home town.
But on the day that it mattered the most, he
evacuated only his family members and abandoned everyone else to their fate.
It means he had information of the Impending attack and
as the most senior military commander,
he did not fly into the town to lead his men to battle to defend his community.
He quietly saved only his family and left even
the soldiers without an inspiring commander to
motivate them to engage the terrorists and defend his community.

One lesson all Nigerians must learn from this
story is that as a people, all we have is our neighbours. When you need some help at home,
you knock on the door of your neighbour. The president, governor, senator or minister is not
there to help you. Why then should you continue
to fight your neighbour because of a man or
woman who cares only about his own family?
Our elites may deceive us about sharing the same religion or ethnicity with us,
but time and again, they have proven that they do not care.
We have been fools, killing one another on the
basis of religion and ethnicity while they stay
united across all the divides and plunder our wealth.

The time has come for us to rise, educate one another and unite to fight our biggest common enemy.
The politicians are our enemies and not the poor struggling men and women in our neighbourhoods.
What now will the people of Mubi boast about as
the gain of having their son as the chief of Defence Staff? If you go to Otueke where Jonathan comes from, there are many people
who live in excruciating poverty!
There is still a lot of poverty and suffering in the home towns of all our governors, ministers,
parliamentarians and former presidents, while they and their families live in scandalous affluence.
The minister of petroleum spent over 10 billion Naira on a private jet. That money can end the poverty of several communities in her state.
Stella Oduah bought two cars with 120 million Naira while there are people in her home town
who can't afford 500 Naira to feed their family in a day.
The time to throw away the sentiments is now!
Support only a man or woman who has a just
heart and will serve everyone and every community regardless of if they come from there
or not. The moment anyone begins to talk to
you about religion or ethnicity, reject him.

summarily!
We need leaders who will unite us because our shared humanity is greater than any differences between us.
And if someone does something wrong or fails in governance, do not support them simply because they're your own.
And after this chronicle of leadership failure and postulation on public responsibilty we will still jump into the mud pits dug by the same politicians and fight their dirty wars for them. The great victory of the BH insurgency is to permanently demystify leadership. Irresponsible and weak minded Nigerians are here lamenting. Just so sad.

To imagine few years ago we all thought and joked that Nigerians love life hence, suicide bombing ain't our thing. Alas, it has become a norm. If our leaders have come to accept this as a norm and as a platform to play politics what are the masses been used as collateral damage doing? Sit on the internet and type RIP like yours truly? Let US all as a people unite and fight our common two enemies- Boko harem and our politicians.
Sorry to disappoint you. Most folks here 'fight' for the very politicians no matter how reprehensible their words and deeds. It is us who make leaders. They emerge from us and rely on us to fight for them for promises and peanuts. We are also responsible for the carnage in Nigeria. I always ask this question. 'What if THEY called for a war and nobody came.'

Then you woke up from the dream at 4 am to resume the rat race yet again. Have I not been hammering that the problem of Nigeria is structure. People foolishly say it is corruption. What will happen now is that they or their promoters will be 'settled' and continue to be 'settled' throughout the years of the new administration which is the corruption we often hear. It all starts with the faulty structure of our country.

Obasanjo is an extremely corrupt man. That generation of leaders have one thing in common: the end justifies the means. He is no moral man at all.

However leadership is not about morality alone. It is also about persuation, focus, objectivity amongst others. In these OBJ has been the most effective leader Nigeria has ever had. He has single-handedly founded and navigated our democracy through choppy waters and pointed it forwards. The election of GEJ was a masterstroke, the splitting and neutralization of the northern power bloc that has led to the emerging two party mixed regional polity as we see today another great move.

So when he speaks about corruption in the house he knows that with the right structural reforms in place first corruption can then be tackled.

This is where I defer from those who feel corruption is the only problem and an anti-corruption crusader is all we need. Well the truth is that it has been tried by the Buhari/Idiagbon regime before and it didn't work and didn't last because there was no structure to contain it and no fuel to run it.

We have to get the Houses working well first to eliminate corruption down the line. This OBJ started, GEJ must progress and his successor even more.
Politics › Re: Obasanjo Rubbishes National Assembly, Says It’s An Assembly Of Thieves, Looters by Reference(m): 8:35am On Nov 27, 2014
And this corruption is across party lines. As a matter of fact the only thing that appears to pit one party against the other is when positions are under threat due to cross-carpeting executive generated turbulence. As soon as the storm passes both major parties sit back and resume their looting confratenity.

I used to hail the house particularly the Tambuwal led chamber for being the democratic spear tip but they have since lost focus and fallen silent which means one thing. 'Junior is up to no good.'
