Dunno if its me but I see more ladies in unions or with children that I would sincerely love to ask., what was the rush than those awaiting. If the time in waiting is well spent, I think its worth it. |
legendprac: For old unmarried guys, irrespective of the economy, I think a man dat is unmarried @ 40 and above is a foool... Cuz, he must also have passed on some oppotunities dat came his way @ one point or the oda to make money... Some even made money, but lavished it on some stupid lifestyle...if u get married @ 40, with wot strength will u train ur kids? Do u have plans of seeing ur grand children? Those r questions guys should also ask themselves when dey r busy living d 'life' and not thinking about settling down...But getting married early doesn't necessarily mean a better quality of life for you or your kids. Picture this. Five more years of education can prevent a woman raising kids with childhood diseases, can enhance pre-school education, can make for better social choices and as recent reports say, can prolong family longevity by upwards of five years. Believe me, if the woman is not ready, she is not ready and am not talking about money here but time well spent on personal development. We are in times when women HAVE TO know more and do more so that we are all likely to see our future grand children. If it takes time so be it. What's the rush to polio, ignorance and poverty. |
abeq tell 'em jawe!! I wonder who came-up with this kind fact
I believe it because 'best' and 'average' performances do not reflect in the 'average user' connected to the 'average provider' using 'average hardware'. Its all relative. But on the whole I've noticed a marked improvement in 2012 alone. |
victichy: For which part of naija you dey yarn? for my area U struggle with 10kb.Invest my man. Invest. |
I'd rather we discover the way to development. One more oil well is one more ring to the shackles. |
Demdem: Bro, i dont think ketu-Ikorodu is federalIn my opinion there are two schools of thought that pose challenges going forward here. One relates to ownership, another relates to use. That road may well bear a Federal seal of ownership right up to Ijebu Ode or wherever but the road has never been contiguous. It has an urban section that spurs from the Ibadan - Lagos - Apapa expressway with a little set back to Mile 12. At this point it becomes a single carraige highway. That was the way the Feds left it when they shipped out in 91. It may not have been sufficient then but you can hardly blame the Federal government for Lagos urban growth when they have very few assets left there. Neither can you expect them to develop what amounts to two capital cities at the same time. The urbanisation of Ikorodu is a Lagos thing, normal under state developmental policies and whatever master plan is conceived should include roads so if they expand an urban road where does the Federal government get the blame afterall whatever income is derived as a result of this investment goes to the state. Lagosians should go easy when trading blame with the Feds over infrastructure because they enjoy the residues of Federal patronage in the same measure as they have to give. |
Olalekan 0: 29B naira is well over-bloated. Haba,we need to question the cost of this projects sometimes. Not necessarily. It is the content and context that counts. |
Said it in January that no one will come out of this looking peachy but Nairaland teletubbies won't have any of it.But am really confused here who really is the masquerade called NUPENG that was seen dancing back then, the high priest, the town crier, that man who has the largest yam barn or Igwe himself. This drama is getting blurred by the minute. Who or what is NUPENG, what do they do or what have they done in this caper. |
Its just about the poor communication skills the vast majority of women have. While they hunted in a pack with a well defined strategy, she was isolated (isolated herself) without an objective so no plan, no backup, no failsafe. I'm sorry to say so but its a woman thing. I've come across several like this. Infact one was seated next to me on a flight to Lagos yesterday and I heard her saying on the phone to another lady, 'I hope you've not told B... that I'm coming. I want to surprise him.' In this time and age you'd expect better from an adult. There are several types of internet and communication related vices that mirror the larger society. For some tools such as Facebook enhances communication skills while for others it sadly exposes the lack thereof. These end up being victims of sorts. |
A couple of these chaps remain on summer break. This is not championship prospecting stuff so far. City were a lot sharper. |
The midfield continues to be the problem for United not the front line. Scholes is slowing down the attack and Kagawa is practically light weight, Don Cornelius winning every ball in that zone. |
With things like this happening, I kinda worry about the safety of Eko Atlantic City when finished.
Has no long term future. The predictions over the next forty years at current oceans rise rates due to global warming are for a three metre rise. Even half of that will eat at least half a kilometre inland. Guess another few billions for another sea wall. Its a losing battle. |
slimdiggi: Waiting for what Adenuga will do...GLO strike ?? ![]() |
This is what makes the Premiership the most exciting league in the world. Unending drama. Ask me who's the captain of Bayern Munich, PSG, Juventus or Real Madrid. Who cares. |
Clemzy16: It's called bi-passing. We're all guilty. No cause for alarm. No Sir, we don't all do that. I pay my bills and learn to live without what I cannot afford. Early risers will observe massive waste of electricity because it remains relatively cheap and many do not pay for it. Every shop and peppermint kiosk has a high energy filament burning throughout the night while transformers overload. Why won't these folks cut corners. Will they dare run a generator overnight just to illuminate their shop fronts. |
greaterlove: You got it all right my brother, reading some of the post here has really made me so angry, why are we so myopic in this country. The same nigerians who are complaining that they want steady power supply are the ones who will destroy it. Why can't people just do the right thing for goodness sake, are we this lawless? My dear. Am just tired of my reprobate country men. Is it you or I thoughtless of foreigners that will invest in this situation and will we not pay a heavy premium in subsidies for power pirates and their vandal comrades in arms. Tommorrow these folks will find themselves in positions of authority. Will the outcome be any different. Sick people. |
Uyi Iredia: That's harsh. I wouldn't recommend it.Yeah. That's why they should legalize firearms. She brings out her whip, I draw my Colt. Fair an square. Then later in life I graduate to taking out my enemies with assault rifles at movie theatres. Just lost in thought. Oh well. |
BoboYekini: that one just before ikeja shopping mall. has a 'Do not enter' sign, you'll probably see it only after you have entered. ![]() |
On a day Cote D'Ivoire plays Russia, we play Niger. Like other teams consider friendlies with us detrimental to their development and ranking. See how the cookie crumbles. Corruption won't kill us sha. |
Fatally or mortally wounded simply means dies as a result of injuries sustained. Means the fellow was not instantly killed but could have died anywhere between the scene and the morgue, quite frankly. The poster should clear this up. |
lawak: they have to tell us the new value addition they are brining on board since 99.3 Info FM is already doing that and very well tooNot really. I listened to last week's Community Shield on their station and the commentary was run by the radio presenters themselves obviously off a monitor. Not good enough. Commentaries should be run live. If Brilla has this arrangement, it trumps others in my opinion plus the fact that our chaps are always full of sentiments, bring their petty quarrels to the mic. and don't do their homework well. |
But to be honest. If you a back stage view the right person to ask will be OBJ. The origins of this challenge can be traced to the retirement of a swathe of top military personnel mainly of northern extraction. We all know that the military HAD been the custodian of sectional rule since the civil war and in doing so OBJ exposed a festering sore but a real threat to democracy. They had no option but to rally round and the product is this ideology. Once they saw they were barred in Atiku and short changed in Yaradua, they went militant. Now they want it back or else.... I thinj OBJ did something brave then in setting this conflict in motion and GEJ is doing well so far in following through, however it remains to be seen whether posterity will judge them favourably with all the lives lost. But is there an easier way to move this country forward?? Dunno, but the country must move forward. |
boyendowed: Weaken the centre and the desperation for power will stop.Agreed. But how do you do that without multiplying the crises ten-fold. Will THEY agree. Even a democracy of equal representation is unacceptable to them. They want to rule over you with or without your consent. The bloke said approve and be free. Do these fellows regard the democracy you and I hope to better. |
Dee60: Every Nigerian should have a right to contest for any election as long as the constitution allows. This elder's request is grossly unconstitutional. Well, if GEJ would not contest who will? May be that person we dont know is behind BH!Stop shielding. Arrest. Destroy Boko Haram. Hmm. If after all the pieces are laid before you (by the ACF, detained members, by their modus operandi, by the former NSA, by Northern elders and by the arrow heads themselves), you don't get it. Then you probably never will. Boko Haram is not a social club or public liability company. It is an ideology. How do you arrest an ideology. Granted it has militant proponents, it feeds off a broad base of political, social and religious thought processes which are basically unacceptable to the rest of us. I won't go into those. But essentially the picture of a few disgruntled men running amock in northern Nigeria is wrong. This monster has extensive roots. It is not an entity so guns, bombs and handcuffs cannot stop it. An ideology can only be defeated by another. |
When I say the GEJ Presidency is the best thing that has happened to Nigeria many doubt. They conveniently ignore the elephant in the room and chase after power, roads and anti-corruption. The things that will dwarf all those challenges is coming. Let every well meaning Nigerian put things in proper perspective. Once it was clandestine. Gradually it is coming out into the open. What next. This country needs urgent structural surgery. All other things are mundane. This Presidency will define this country and perhaps irreversibly change it. Born to rule indeed. |
Delafruita: i dont agree with you completely.the american system of federalism might not work in nigeria.you need to take into account the fact that america isnt just a country, its a union.different states joined the union at different times but for the same purpose,to repel the british.these states already existed independently before the formation of the union and based on the agreements, were to continue to exist independently.even the states that were added later either through purchase or otherwise continued in that same manner.nigeria doesnt have foundation.states didnt come together, rather states were arbitrarily formed.i support true fiscal federalism but the reality is that if we choose to implement it ,many states will go bankruptThen they do what bankrupt individuals and organisations do. Seek court protection from their creditors and restructure their books. Or you think states in the US cannot go bankrupt. But when you continue to subsidize unproductivity what is the incentive for good governance and propriety. Not every state is pulling its weight including some oil producing ones because they have never learnt to invest to earn. In the US even the unproductive effects of traffic jams are key economic indicators so infrastructure is not just a social service but a business tool. I tell you without exposure to life's realities whether buying petrol at proper prices or governments earning from its own investments we will NEVER develop. I think we were laughing at the cassava initiative a while ago. By next year when US wheat harvests fail then it will be clear that you can only survive if you are prepared to look inward. Let them continue to depend on oil and gas. |
Is it the same Dangote that has been vilified by sections of this forum or is it another Dangote. Haba, Nigerians stand for something for once. Is his contributions to campaign piggy banks good or not, self serving or not, exploitative or not, monopolistic or not. Does it affect the outcome of elections or not. Is he now a good boy and are his anti-subsidy and Ibeto manic sins forgiven. C'mon. |
57 pages. What the hell happened here. Err. Good morning oh. |
berem: What's the difference anyway? Just one tyre added and it becomes a tricycle! The mentality of the keke/okada riders will not change. Some of them need to be orientated including the ones in lagos. Nice idea though from the Bayelsa State Govt.Them three-wheelers don't have the same acceleration and guile as their two wheeled cousins. Much safer, but as pointed out now is the time to develop a proper mass transit network before population pressure forces their hands. Even if they cannot implement it now they can at least delineate passages into their town planning schemes to avoid costly compensation in years to come, the bane of mass transit schemes in Lagos and Portharcourt. |
Billyonaire: I propose 100% subsidy removal. That remains the only option to weeding these criminals out. Which retailer will pay billions for what he hasn't received especially to a celebrated felon. |
pokur: If the EFCC knew this guy's history since 2010,how come he got license to import fuel and claim subsidy? With the millions spent on the department in charge of due process. |
