ujchief: my dear, there've been a lot of high profile arests such as kabiru sokoto, Abu dada and the madela guy, what info has been goten from them so far? Nada! And how do you know nothing has been obtained from those arrested. I see, its not on Nairaland. |
ramaju: If he is killed, how will Federal government get and verify information on how to curtail the excesses of BH? Na only question I wan ask for now. Dey for detain am make e sing small. How I wish you are one of the troops sent on this kind of mission so that you can ENSURE that he can be captured alive. |
spothot: My brother, the issue is that the way they accepted islam is quite different from what those in the south practise, partly i think, because of their level of education and probably culture.Quite agree with you. Islam is long overdue for a tectonic shift hence these global earthquakes of mindless violence. However the magma spilling from the Nigerian volcano is highly corrupted with sectionalism and feudalistic ideologies hence even more toxic. |
pawa4ul: We are all busy talking about the present effect of a past bad job by previous governors. Well, if you ask me, that is not the solution. The present govt is busy giving road contracts to individuals/political associates. Wonder what happened to Julius Berger and others. The only construction company we can reckon with I'm the state for now is the RCC. If they don't stop awarding road construction contracts to indigenous firms/politicians, more of this will happen in the nearest future. Currently, virtually all the roads in PH are bad. Take a drive on the roads of PH if u doubt me. Tankers and trailers are falling everyday on PH roads. A journey of 20mins takes a minimum of 1hr 30mins cos of very bad roads. The govt should invite J.Berger to assist RCC or make RCC come with full squad in the state. Pls save our loves from accidents.Forget Berger. Look at the Eleme flyover. Does it resemble JB's work. 95% of engineering contracts in Rivers state are executed substandard. There's just too much graft in the Works department. While some like Berger may deliver minimum standards novices like Bulletin fell through the cracks. Its corruption. |
vitality22: Odili"s wife is a Justice of a federal high court. So nothing will happen to Peter Odili, though he is a criminal.Thought she was in the Supreme Court and received a nat. award today. Anyway Bulletine Construction is responsible for that so those of you like me that motors to Abuja once a while should watch out for the section of highway they are building and probably deck a parachute and wet suit when crossing the numerous bridges. Pity. |
Sorry man. You're absolutely wrong. There is a difference between noodles and instant noodles. You simply cannot parboil instant noodles and what in the world is wax. Candle wax or what. |
He started running for the highest office bout twenty years ago if I'm not mistaken. Just how old is this dude. |
acidtalk: Arhitect, Bricklayer, Carpenter, Painter, Tiler, Welder, Plumber, Electrician, Gardener and the rest must chop now.And don't forget pretty Aunty Sarah. |
jude33084: No! No!! They just signed him as τ̲̣̣̥н̣̣̣̝̇̇̇ε̲̣̣̣̥ main actor of τ̲̣̣̥н̣̣̣̝̇̇̇ε̲̣̣̣̥ Patriot!Patriot ke. More like 'Clear and Present Danger' reboot. |
new maonza: Anybody abusing my mother is a bastard, u Nigerians should mind ur business & show discretions in ur posts. .. . . .@ op: i know who d 4ck u re, & i will get uI honestly hope you're not for real. Your statement says it all. |
Remii: I think coins are rejected because of their very low values as of now, in Cote D'Ivoire a drop of taxi is 200cfa, their money up to 500cfa are in coins and they happily spend them. Nigerians need to make policies work.Aha. This is a new one. We are finally acknowledging that it would take Nigerians to make coins work so that they don't just redenominate the prices of their goods and services. This is new. So if you need people to succeed why not be more persuasive and less antagonistic. Except perhaps if he quite frankly doesn't give a hoot. |
Very interesting debate so far. One question though. If the higher denotes are for high value transactions, imports and BDC's of sorts, please can anyone tell me why these group isn't at the forefront of cashless. Surely their turnover and sophistication should afford them a host of media and exotic payment toys. But pity the vendor in traffic after munching his gala and sticking that evil note in his face. Maybe SLS expects them to invest in PoS terminals while the big boys do cash. Funny. Oya debate. |
werepeLeri: Nigerians are averse to the use of coins - so, we must not print coins. Do we have three heads as compared to other nations of the world where the people use coins? Abeg.Believe me. If people are averse to coins, I think the CBN should sit up and take notice because it is they who offer potentially inflatory goods and services not the CBN. And I can think of one group that can rubbish his moves - urban transporters. Once they turn his coins down, everything else goes and believe me they cannot wait. In economics perception is a very powerful tool. SLS should know that being an ace risk manager. |
Suppose instead of introducing an N5000 note, he redenominates the currency, removing two zeros. So you exchange N100 for a "new naira." Would anyone be opposed to the latter? So how can the latter be OK but introducing an N5k note be insane? Are they not effectively the same thing?
That's what am saying. When you subject the matter through the debate mill of sound ideas you get to find out whether the whole storm is about the much touted savings or just another ego trip. Let the debate continue. |
I have my issues with Sanusi but if someone is nominated for a job and screened by our Senate and found worthy of such office, we should be gracious enough to let them DO THE JOB. The law has empowered this guy, by virtue of his office to take decisions that will advance the country economically and what he is doing is within the limit of his powers, so lets not do his job for him...let him do the job we put him there to do!!! This place is not a jungle.
No Sir. Democracies don't work that way even for those in top shape governed by exceptional people. The truth is that without debate leadership is bound to err, if not now, in the future. Let the debate continue. Its not an expedient thing. We have time. Its not a security issue or some ebola viral attack. |

Royal Roy: So you think everybody in life who you have wronged and didn't forgive you will give you a straight ticket to hell...even after you've done ur best to make ammendment? Well God doesn't work that way. If its that way then hell must be overflowing by now. Silly Assumptions from you!I tell you. You hear wierd things on this forum every day. Please, people should not just bring God into this matter concerning her actions because He clearly orders you to forgive so that you too might be forgiven. Except we are speaking about other types of gods out there and we know a couple of them who don't do mercy. |
If its true she's just being petty. Even mafiosi bosses attend the funerals of those they place contracts on. Just play the politics like our elder statesmen who have no permanent enemies. Remember your kids are watching and learning. Anger them yourself and you will reap the whirlwind. They will make you a tetrapack casket. Poor Levi. Anyway in situations like this his secondary constituency, the NNPC should bear the burden and bury their own. Afterall by the reports we are hearing it is their oversight failures that led ultimately to his death. |
When a man sees black and calls it white there is no point in debating with him..... Ignorance is no excuse in law.... MEND and boko haram are the same thing....criminal organisations
Whether we like it or not what Tompolo and his organisation are doing is what the government should have instituted over 40 years ago when oil was discovered. That it has been forced upon Nigeria quite frankly is for our good and a right step in the move to have power returned to people for the resources they (the people) should be contributing to the state and not the other way round. The other thread is complaining of the high cost of beans brought from the north as a part result of the insecurity. No one is asking who owns the beans and why it is so. They just either buy the beans or find alternatives. Why isn't this so for oil. Why are the owners of the land under which this oil is found not allowed to freely participate. Are we aware that some BH members are in the beans production and trade. Why aren't we concerned about that. If this country is interested in benefitting from oil found in the ND the it must swallow its pride and negotiate with the peoples in that region with maximal participation. MTN will approach me, bargain with me and pay me to set up its mast and probably involve me in its security. That's wise. Pity the NNPC wasting their time chasing pipeline vandals from pillar to post while not approaching folks, bargaining and paying them rent for right of way and involving them in the security and integrity of the network commensurate with the value of the products piped. Have this as a fact. No army, navy or police force in this world can exclude people from resources they have a right to. If the government likes let it ignore the farmer/herdsmen crisis in Nigeria, the farmer/insecurity crisis in the north and resource control in the ND, it will be forced into several such embarrassing agreements in future. Resources belong to people, not governments. |
fineheart: they should not punish an innocent man simply because he supported Rochas during d election. People use his depot for through-put which is the equivalent or giving out your facility on rent or short lease. The govt should have gone after the people who brought the product for storage and warehousing instead of Capt Iheanacho.Stolen products are traced to his house and he is an innocent man. You can see the problem in Nigeria. Our battle with corruption is not about the players but the fans. It is they who buy tickets afterall. |
didadavid: So how does this affect the price of garri? Not certain because beans is the only real vegetative protein we have in Nigeria. There are no commercially grown alternatives. Beans stands alone. And that's why it is the king of all grains in Nigeria. Worse. Apart from Niger Republic and Norther Cameroon, no one else produces the stuff so you cannot take your dollars to the US or China to get the stuff. We are the No1. globally so if it is expensive here then...... |
wandeay: the price has a 150% increase, dats ridiculous! The sun is on the other side of the planet so its night time. Simple. The middle of the rainy season is when most (not all) crops are planted so expect them to be the most expensive now. Beans harvest starts sometime in the middle of the dry season (I suppose) so hedge your purchases then. The floods will have some effect but on next year's crop. Moreover folks have already factored this into the 2013 pricing. |
Super1759: bro,get it straight. Most american pastors are passing through hell in their marriages. Was it not days back that benny got back to his family? Juanita bynum who got married to another minister, after a period of time divorced tooo. So many of them. Its a function of knowledge. Without the knowledge of how a thing works you are bound not to cope when it begin to age and deteriorate and eventually fails. The problem with most of these pastors is that they speak to adults almost exclusively. Well, marriage and its preparation starts from birth. Teach a child in the way he/she should go and when he grows he/she will (have accumulated sufficient information to deal with situations) and the number one is how to make sound choices. Christianity I always said is not just about spirituality and morality but soundness of mind and principally wisdom. Unfortunately there is increasingly lop-sided postulation in favour of spirituality over wisdom. No one wants to take responsibility anymore. "Its all God's work they say", "Or it is the devil's fault." Well you were created in the image of God and given a regenerated brain by Jesus to do sound thinking so that you may function as a co-creator with the help of the Holy Spirit. There is really no reason to fail. I bet she never read one book nor studied one single material on the potential problems she could face in marriage before jumping in. And whose fault. TD Jakes of course and his lovely wife. Get your kids to study. Period. More books, less, clothes and candy. |
Ifetex: I cn't wait 2 watch it, hope it a season film?C'mon this is inappropriate. |
wandeay: if you've not repent, there is time now, maybe the world will from this place come to its endAs soon as EADS merges with BAE Systems, then I'll know the fuse has been lit. |

Its complex. First, the poster has not defined what the bag is. If it is personal like a woman's handbag or a man's purse (large) it would contain personal items of high value and security, phones, cash and the occasional side arm. In that case it will be unwise to do so. However if he or she is heaving a bag cement, c'mon its only human for the least thing you'd want is your boss collapsing in exhaustion. Not good for your pay check. Secondly it depends on the history, geography, and chemistry of your office. History: If you work in a multinational, it is very unlikely this will be the pervading practice and can be viewed rather strangely. Geography: If your office is miles away or floors away from that of your boss then it may be better to get someone else (a favorable colleague or a subordinate) to do the heavy lifting for many reasons amongst; Chemistry: You may be viewed as someone who has nothing else to do and places personal, informal and trivial issues above work, promptness, efficiency and professionalism. There are no straight answers here. Its all about the environment. |
texazzpete: I pity you. Then they will have a huge hole to climb out of. Samsung is already outselling them 2 to 1 and the I5 isn't that much of a game changer. |
Super1759: Welcome to NIGERIA,iphone5. But am not interested. Tnks How dare you. |
kenlash1: D rate of disrespect for nigerian citizens by d army and even the police its alarming, what is wrong in making the driver pay for the damage rather than beating him to stuppor, and its also surprising dt some nigerians support dis brutality. We knw this truck drivers are reckless but human right and respect for a citizen shld be wat we support. Its painful that a common nigerian has no human right nd the soldiers lack dignity. I dnt want to knw if nigerian soldiers are d best combatant . What is wrong is wrong . The govt has made us feel so helpless that anything goes, this can't happen in a civilised nation no matter d offence d driver committed. This is getting out of hand, today its someone else tmrw it might be ur turn what then ll u say wen u re brutalised for ur shoulders hitting an officer? And why will I hit an army officer rather than take the beatings and go to court. Our view of this matter is that Nigerians in general are civilised and the military is primitive and uncivilised. I will tell you, even the Minister of Transport couldn't move those trucks from the Apapa road - they remain there till tommorrow. Years after the Federal and Ogun state government has tried to evict the truck drivers from the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, they remain intransigent. Are they civilised and law abiding. I tell you. The military is a reflection of the society we live in. The best way to get law enforcement to be law abiding is to abide by laws yourself. I keep on saying it. America is not nicey picey because of Barack Obama but because of the attitide and disposition of the average American. Obama will go one day, America will continue so will that GOC in a few years. |
