I don't get these UK people. They are the ones to create YouTube channels, blogs and what have you after leaving Nigeria. It's like UK is synonymous with ofofo or tatafo

I have my WhatsApp status blowing up everytime from so many of them with funky ass titles, like 'How to get to UK without POF' , "How to pay your school fees with 20hrs of work', How to...."smack their faces"... Just zip it.

I'm tired of UK people. Shuuuuu
Black people are dumb, Nigerians are the dumbest of all.

put 200 m citizens in UK them go enter crises talk less of Benin republic! How many police officers we got for 200 million peeps? Less than 200k how many doctors less than 100k! If Nigeria was half in what we have now in terms of pop you might see what government is doing !But with this population we never see shit! Go to any gov ernment hospital right now and ask for paracetamol! Majority of them don’t have and the ones that got will finish in a day or two! If governments spend 2 bill on paracetamol at 100 naira per one it is going to amount to 20 mil units! So how long before it finishes? Except government focus on Agriculture, Water and exploration of economic minerals resources while they hands off Power, Education and Health let the privates drive those! Taxation and setting up of Government skills acquisition centers unless you attend you can get licensed for tailoring, auto mechanics and the likes. Our population is increasing yet our income is reducing what happens when crude oil is outdated?
What have you got to say for countries like China, India and America that has more population than Nigeria?

Japan is that obedient (not submissive) hyena, it obeys the lion (the US) because it can't afford to do otherwise, but it has a sense of its own. It just acts like a faithful servant, but at the right time, it will switch allegiance, or strike when it notices any weakness.

Japan, alongside Germany, was the dominant empire state during the second world war, and after their defeat, the US made sure they become its vassals, or allies as some untrained mind will call it. No, they are vassals.

Japan currently hosts over 100 US military bases, the same as Germany. So tell me, how can Japan be independent when it doesn't control its own defense policy? How can you say you own your house when your visitor has a bigger gun, bomb, missile, and muscle than you? if he refused to leave, what can you do? if he sent you packing from your house, what can you do?

Most importantly, Japan has refused to apologize to China for the Nanjing massacre in WW2, and China is patiently waiting for an opportunity to revenge. If a bullet flies from Japan to China, be guaranteed that China will destroy Japan. Mark my words.

If you think what Hitler did to the Jews was horrible, then you probably haven't read what the Japanese did to the Chinese. I don't want to write it here because it is just too gruesome, thinking about it makes me sick.

Just as Japan has started buying Russian oil even after their sanctions, China is their largest trading partner. If China sanctions Japan, their economy will go into a depression straight up.

China is just calm, behaving like the adult in the room. It's left for Japan not to interpret calmness as a weakness because, for the Chinese, it's not a matter of if they will retaliate, it's a matter of whether Japan will exist as a country after tasting the hibernating wrath of China.
If Japan makes any silly move against China, America will be left in awe what China will do to Japan. In fact, America will take pen and paper and learn the art of war from the people who knows war.

Yes. if one wants to stay away from all these geopolitical wars, a neutral passport, which a Nigerian one is, is a key asset.

Nigerian passport might not take one to many countries visa free, but it's neutral. No one will murder you because you're a Nigerian.

Americans and British are known to lie that they are Irish or Canadian, just because being an American there can be a death sentence, since their government have destroyed those countries.
That's exactly why I'm keeping my passport.

Destroying your passport doesn't release you from your citizenship, it only means you don't have a passport.

The process of renouncing citizenship is a whole legal procedure that can run into years. They should show proof that they've renounced Nigerian citizenship, then I will take them serious.

Also, renouncing Nigerian citizenship is very expensive. And you can only give up your Nigerian citizenship if you're a citizen of another country, to prevent statelessness.

To renounce, You'll first off all pay 450k naira to the ministry of interior after submitting your birth certificate, intl passport, proof of foreign citizenship, intent to renounce affidavits, local govt origin cert etc.

Then wait for the president to sign you off and release you from becoming a Nigerian.
The only usefulness of Nigeria passport is when I get a British, I could visit Russia and China without a hassle from the British government.

THE DREAM STATE: Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich comes under fire for standing before a modified map of Israel that engulfs a number of Arab nations as part of a purely Jewish state.

Map featured on podium (pictured above) includes Jordan, parts of Syria and Saudi Arabia, and the occupied Palestinian territories as parts of a Greater Israel - seen as a threat and declaration of war against Arab countries.

Smotrich even arrogantly denied existence of Palestinians, saying there is no such thing as Palestine.
Another thing is for Saudi to get a war head and Israel will start respecting itself. What's all these?

The US and Russia has been hostile with each other since the first half of the 20th century. after the Iron curtain was raised following the aftermath of the second world war both nations were not in good terms diplomatically.

The US and Russia which was the spearhead of the USSR then have engaged each other in a proxy war which many described as "the cold war" and the US was known to be the major agressor. There have been interventions and counter interventions by the forces of both nations in warthorn countries in the past.

During the Korean war the USSR supported the North Koreans by supplying them with heavy weapons, while the US was deeply involved in supervising the actual conduct of war operations on the side of South Korea.
The same thing happened in Vietnam and all these was done to contest military superiority and maintain multipolar balance of power.

In 1962 the US and the Russians which was part of the USSR then almost went to a Nuclear war against each other during the Cuba missile crisis, when the Russians planted two Nuclear missile in Cuba and one of them was targeted at Washington DC while the other was to hit New York. What frightened the US the most was that each of these missiles was ten times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb and the US was within the range of striking distance, but JFK saved the situation using diplomatic solution.

In 1979 the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and the fighting lasted for 10 years, the US supplied the mujahedeen resistance fighters with weapons such as stingers to down Soviet Aircrafts, all these was done to frustrate the Soviet in their quest to achieve total dominance in Afghanistan. In 1980 the US even boycotted the Moscow Olympic games held in Russia and prevented the athletes from participating, The Soviet also reciprocated and refused their representative from taking part when the US hosted the Olympics games four years later in 1984.

The US believing the Russians were only powerful because it was part of the Soviet union, did everything possible to see that the Soviet Union collapsed. After the collapsed of the Soviet union in 1991, the US enjoyed some form of uninterrupted dominance in world political and military affairs from the 90s till middle 2000s, and during these period there was a heavy Russian silence.

From 2006 there was a strong transformation from a rejuvenated Russia who was ready to contest any form of oppositions by all necessary means. Sensing that the Unipolarism they had been enjoying over the years is been threatened, the US started looking for a way to suppress the Russian uprising. the Ukrainian war was just an excuse used by the US to try and make the Russians powerless by using sanctions, but it seems the sanctions are now working against those who imposed it and the Russians are even getting stronger.
You are well vast in knowledge of USSR and the United States cold War.

MeghaneMorgane:
I have a brother who was very desperate to travel abroad over a year ago. He wanted to go through school and he tried Canadian and Turkish schools but he wasn’t given visa. We advise him to try good European and USA schools but he was too desperate and couldn’t wait. He eventually got a school in North Cyprus and travelled out. All of us spoke to him to calm down and go to a good country. My father advised him and told him that North Cyprus is like a glorified Nigeria, but he wouldn’t listen. He felt everyone didn’t want him to move forward in life. When he didn’t listen to anyone, we wished him well and had to support him. Everyone supported him in every way possible, spiritually through prayers, emotionally through advise and encouragement, and financially through sending initial money for upkeep and paying school fees.

Normally in my household, for those who have travelled out, the idea is that we support with the initial money needed to get the visa and when you get there, you should get a job and continue to fend for yourself. The problem now is that this my brother is still asking my parents for money even after 1 year. The truth is that my brother has tried to look for a part time job so many times but is not finding. But how can he find when he didn’t go to a country that has a good economy. My parents don’t have any money to send because Nigeria is just somehow right now. They said many people are owing them and are not paying. My father now will call me to send money to my brother. At the moment, I don’t have a problem with it but it’s not sustainable. I’ve told him that he shouldn’t think I’ll always bring out money anytime he asks. Because a time will come, my responsibility will not even let me look at his face. Except if God blesses me to be a multimillionaire or a billionaire.

Right now, my parents have just left him to his fate. I can completely understand because they themselves are just trying to survive in Nigeria. My father said if he cannot fend for himself he should come back to Nigeria. My dad keeps repeating it that he has done what he is supposed to do as a father and that everyone is an adult and should take care of themselves now.

I wanted to leave him to his fate like my parents because he made his decision after all. Why should I stress myself for a decision he made himself even when everyone advised and warned him. But at the end of the day, my conscience will not allow me. He is still my brother at the end of the day. I’m working with him now to see how he can leave North Cyprus immediately after his studies.

Bottom line of this is that everyone needs to make the right decisions. Don’t come and stress innocent people who didn’t make your foolish decision with you.
One thing I hate about foolish people is, they will always make their problem an 'our problem'. He was warned wasn't he? Why couldn't he look for countries as cheap as North Cyprus and school in than going to North Cyprus? Nigerians will never research on their own, they will make dumb decisions and will rely on family or people to bail them out. Why would you want to be his savior? He will still make same mistake again. Allow him chest this one probably he will be wiser next time.

luminouz:
You sound like a loving child but you are digging a deeper hole than you realize.

Lemme tell you my story.

I'm the first child. God gave me brains. I was out of secondary school at 15, graduated top of my class at 21 years old. But finances were an issue. My parents value education but finance issues cropped up and Dad couldn't train us like he would want to, but my mom took it up while he was down and we managed. I started working at 21. I wanted to help my parents so I worked odd jobs before I left for service, during service and after service. It was something I had to do to support them. They NEVER put any pressure on me but I care about my family so I helped. My parents retired while my one and only sister was in secondary school and I willingly took it on myself to train that girl. My parents are traditional and believed God gave children. I disagreed with that notion and told them I won't bring a child into this world to suffer. There is nothing I hated more than that. Anytime they try to gimme the "when you marry, blessings flow" talk while I was still even training my sister, I countered them. So, I put my foot down in getting married while I was working and hustling because I still wasn't ready for a baby and they respected me for it. My sister finished service last year and working currently. Na you know how e dey pinch you and if you allow everyone to push you around, na to die be that. Know what you want and stick to it, despite emotional blackmail from parents. They will always push you but you have to put you foot down and tell them what you want.

Whatever I did was out of love, not coercion. And there is where my case differs from yours. You are being coerced to shoulder the weight and it's affecting you gradually. You seem softhearted and unable to say No to a few things. You could take one sibling and help him/her as you could while letting them care for the rest or you risk burning yourself out in the process. Not only that, you are a woman and at 27, you should be with a family of your own. Pegging your marriage for three years is not so cool. If your fiance is tired and decided to leave, you'd have wasted three years of your life and lost a good guy. Do you know where/when the next serious guy will come from? Time doesn't wait for women. Marry that guy and train one of your siblings in your husband house. The others can learn soft skills that won't take too much money out of their pockets, so they can make money for themselves too. That way, you live long and still help your parents.
Best piece of advice I've ever read here. Nice.
