Nathan2016: Leave these guys... Many of them still think like a toddler... As if Nigeria breaks, all igbos will leave their house for them to pack in.. For people to still think these ways shows the level of backwardness in this country. So if biafra is gotten through referendum, all northerners will no longer live in the east.. Lol Please don't deceive yourself. Even if Biafra is gotten through referendum, that is a divorce and divorce can be very nasty. I don't see any way in the world that the igbos can maintain ownership of their houses in Lagos and Kano. Likewise Yorubas or Housas cannot maintain ownership of any houses they have in Aba or Onitsha (if there are any such properties). Remember, the abandoned properties after the civil war was returned to the owners in Lagos because the igbos remained part of Nigeria. If Biafra succeeded in seceding, that would not have happened. Remember, abandoned properties in Port Harcourt was never returned to the Igbo original owners till date because of the hatred of the Ikwerres for the Igbos after the war. Please don't deceive yourself. |

Nationale: I am appalled at Dino's low level of mentality. How can somebody stage this crap and attempts to feed Nigerians. May be he calls us all foolish. No assassin not even a foolish thief would waste bullets on roof and empty caravan without seeing the target. Dino is a well known figure and his itinerary would not be hard to figure. Tracing and hitting his heart may not be easy but assassins can patiently track him and get him with out wasting up to 5 bullets. I suspect he is targeting the Kogi State government house come 2019. Actually, the assassins learnt from reliable intelligence (through CIA) that Dino turns to a bat at night and he sleeps hanging down the roof. That's why they didn't waste bullet at the window and the lower levels where mere mortals would be. In a sane country, Dino will be arrested by the police and made to pay for staging and alleging an assassination. I can now fully assess his intelligence and state of mind. Ridiculous. |

We haven't had light in my area for over two years and my gen runs for a minimum of 6hrs daily sometimes more. I spend about 20k monthly on fuel and even if I'm to double my gen usage I still won't spend up to 60k not to talk of 150k. Do you use diesel generator and how many appliances do you use. Business › Re: Can CBN Sustain The Black Market Onslaught? by Rekeb: 9:52am On Mar 05, 2017 |
Truth234: Amoto94 can you space it?
This is a general misconception, the CBN do not withdraw from the Foreign Reserves and in fact has added about $500 million in the last two weeks -- $75 million this week alone.
For the record, the money the CBN is auctioning is in accordance with 2017 budget provision -- official exchange rate of N305 with the oil benchmark pegged at $44 a barrel. Therefore, it is part of N2.2 trillion stipulated in the 2017 budget to come from oil revenue.
The subsidised rate is still above N305/$ official rate, commercial banks are directed not to sell more than 20% above the official rate, which is about N375/$. This fund is needed to fund capital projects in Naira and not dollars. Hence, the exchange.
So whether we can sustain it or not, 2017 budget must be funded, either through loan or revenue generation. Let just pray militants continued to yield to the agreement. Let's assume what you said is correct. Lets also assume that the circa $700million that the CBN has sold in the past 2 weeks goes to fund capital projects. I do not see the reason why the CBN should sell that $$ to the banks at N305 and let them sell at N375. That is N70 profit on $1 for the banks. I am pretty sure that the banks will turn around that $ in 1 day or less. That is a 7,300% per annum (20x365%) return for the banks. I don't think Pablo Escobar the notorious drug kingpin was making that much return before he was unceremoniously gunned down by the US and Columbian government. Essentially what Im saying is that CBN is legitimising the rip-off of Nigerians and enriching the fat cat bankers. I do not see why CBN cannot sell the $$ to the bankers at N365/$. The bankers will still jump at a N10/$ profit for basically doing nothing and the Nigerian public would have gained N42billion (60x700) on the sale of just $700million. N42billion will go a long way in completing some of the abandoned projects. In my opinion, Nigeria has not had a worse CBN governor that Emefiele. Ever. |

God bless Nigeria Many thanks @autoreportng. You have made some very useful points in your post. The guy who is doing the rebuttal is obviously an agent of Innoson. The tone of the rebuttal is very unfortunate and it basically sums up why most of our enterprises in Nigeria don't break out of the pedestal level. The point is that if Innoson is content with selling to government, we can already see its future taking cognizance of the fickleness of government practices in Nigeria. Another government will come and rubbish what its predecessors have been doing. I can already see some undertone of we against them in the rebuttal. |

This instruction looks like what is lifted from US or U.K. It doesn't apply to Nigeria. Nigeria has the Land use act which makes documents like the C of O applicable. Please take this instruction with a pinch of salt and refer to the specific requirements in Nigerian states. The requirements in Lagos state for instance have been well discussed in the property section of Nairaland. Read through them as they are more useful and relevant than this. |

The OP's observation is not correct. Check actual figures on http://abokifx.com/previous-rates-2/. Let's assume for a moment that it is even correct, it is a matter of simple ratio for the difference to be more than 100 at higher values even if dollar and pound are of equal strength. See the analysis below. That means if dollar was N200 when pound was N300 (this is just and example), then pound should be N750 should be when dollar is N500. Ratio of pound to dollar of 1:1.5 Based on the exchange rates we have now, dollar has even appreciated far more than pound.

southernbelle: My dear, you are so right. If it had been the woman who admitted to a man that she has no womb, the man will most likely call it quits immediately however this is where you need to evaluate how much you love him. Of course, you can pray but if it comes down to adopting a child since you can't have your own, will you be comfortable? You should also consider his emotions before you make your decisions like if you decide to call it off for example, hope he won't harm himself? Just take out time to really think this through, okay? God is your strength. Goodluck. A man with low sperm count can still have a baby while a woman with no womb cannot. Low sperm count can be boosted with appropriate medication. At the worst case the couple can decide to go for IVF where a few healthy spermatozoa can be taken to fertilize the woman's egg. |
