Zacharia Tivane (41) would remain in custody until his next appearance on 21 October, Sergeant Kelebogile Moiloa said.
His 48-year-old wife and teenage son heard the goat screaming, at their home in Madidi village near Klippan, and went to investigate. They allegedly saw Tivane raping the animal. The woman called the police.sapa

Council Poll: Protest Rocks Lagos Over ‘imposition Of Candidates!

By OLASUNKANMI AKONI & IFEANYI OKOLIE
IKEJA—Ahead of the October 22 local government election in Lagos State,  hundreds of aggrieved members of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, yesterday,  stormed the party secretariat in Ogba, Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa, and took to the major streets in Isolo Local Government Area to protest alleged imposition of candidates.

The state party had, Monday, released the names of candidates to be fielded in the council polls in the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas.

The protesters, who accused state party chairman, Chief Henry Ajomale, of not following due process, called on the party’s National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, Governor Babatunde Fashola and members of the state assembly to intervene immediately. failing which they would disrupt the polls.

Also, major streets in Isolo LCDA   witnessed massive protest as aggrieved residents, traditional chiefs and politicians stormed the Osolo of Isolo palace to register their grievances.

Market women and men, including traditional cult, popularly known as “Osugbo” trooped to the streets to invoke evil spirits at a junction called “Orita Esu” (devil’s junction) in Isolo with various placards to show their grievances against the imposition of one Shamsudeen Olaleye, against the popular choice of Mojeed Adam as the party’s candidate for the coming council poll.

The protesters, who walked from Isolo Bus- Stop to the palace of Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, said the party did not hold primaries but arbitrarily chose Olaleye, the incumbent chairman, as the candidate for the forthcoming election.

My friend  I keep saying read wide so you could understand the history of others,   An Oba was established in Ogba land in present day Rivers state  before even Eko was conquered by the Benin empire,  Yes  Benin empire was rising  but still very primitive and does not reach the standard  I d call  civilized and ofcourse  most of the warriors  then at least at the coast of the empire were of  Ijaw army  not as mercenaries  but as  part of the Benin empire  just as  Nigerian army fought for  the British empire,  Now  the Obaship that was established wwas the OBA  OF  OGBA LAND  in todays  Rivers  state  of OGBA EGBEMA,  This happened  before  Eko was  seized . The seizure of Eko  brought the Ijaws in to the area. But the Ijaws never got there enmass,  The Benin were the ruling class  but the warriors were Ijaws and this was why Ijaws  settled  at the Ajegunle ( AJEGUNLE was never the name  but a nick name to the place )   Kiri kiri, Olodi  are example of  Ijaw name  settlements,  Others fizzled  out and the Ijaws  simply continued  with their fishing business,  Eko  as corrected  by ARIBISALA  is not an AWORI town  and today the majority race there are the IGBOMINA  from KWARA. The AWORIS were mainly at the Northern end of  LAGOS AND NOT EVEN  COASTAL,  Hence The Irus of  apese ( Victoria  island )  may not be  AWORIS.  I was closed  to the Oniru family and I never heard TJ  claimed to be AWORI,  The Benin conquered the Ogba Egbemas .
You be eeddiioottt ooo. You mean Egbema thats spreads in two two states in Nigeria (Imo and Rivers) and a 3rd in Warri, Delta stae) were CONQUERED by the Binis? Warri is understandable but the remaining twohuh?
If they were conquered like u said, who were the original inhabitants before the almighty invasion. Pls explein in your usual drunken style.
You just dey talk like a drunken master. Wake up mumu.

Sports › Joel Obi Rated One Of Africa’s Best Talents by Relax101(op): 7:36pm On Sep 27, 2011
Inter Milan might be struggling in the Italian Serie A, but Nigerian youngster Joel Obi who will be on the line for his second UEFA Champions League start tonight in Russia against Chidi Odiah's CSKA Moscow is certainly making his name known throughout the world.

Obi made his Euro debut last year in the 4-0 bashing of Werder Bremen by his Italian club as he worked his way towards becoming a regular starter for the mighty Milan side. This season,Obi has become a regular face in Inter's line-up and observers were not surprised when last September 14 he was handed his first start in Europe.

Tonight and after overcoming a muscle strain, the Nigerian is set to play from the start again under new boss,Claudio Raineri.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Joel Obi is a midfielder who possess an abundance of talent shown through his speed, skill, technical ability and versatility that allows him to play anywhere the midfield.

After working his way up through the Nerazzurri’s youth division, the 20-year-old broke into the first team during last season, where his hardwork and tough tackles saw him catch the eye of many onlookers.

Obi has earned such praise from his club and fans that he has often been likened to Inter legend Edgar Davids, for his ‘pitbull-esque’ style of play and bravery.

He made his official debut in the club’s Champions League tie in September 2010 against Werder Bremen, where he featured in the final ten minutes, a match which saw the Pinetina outfit win 4-0.

After his first full season with Inter, Obi was forced to choose between his native Nigeria or the country in which he had lived since the age of 14.

This guy is senseless, he posted a site that clearly state Ijaws in ondo state  which answered  his  own question when he asked me to tell him of the Ijaws of ondo, But now  he is saying SOME APOIS  claim they are not Ijaws, does that make any sense, ?Does  every person in Ilorin claim to be Yoruba of  Afonja ? ofcourse  some Illorin natives  claim to be Fulanis and not Yorubas but the whole world knows Illorin is a yoruba town and land, Some  residents of APOI land who speak Yoruba claim they aint Ijaws and were pushed by their Yoruba kins to claim the Ijaw land of APOI taking advantage of the fact that the Ijaws of APOI now speak Yoruba. This is exactly the same claim the Igbos  make on the Rivers  Ijaws, Because the KALABARIS / Okrikas and Bonny  Ijaws  adopted a lot of Igbos and made them citizens The Igbos of Igbo land now claims  KALABARI / OKRIKA and Bonny Land belong to the IGBOS,   There is no dispute  that some APOI say they are not Ijaws  . Ofcourse those APOIS  are not Ijaws  but Yorubas settled  in the Ijaw land , The APOIS who claim to be Ijaws  are in charge and their land belong to them.  So  ALJ HAREM, fine  some APOIS SAY THEY ARE NOT IJAWS    BUT YOU HAVE NOW KNOWN THAT THE APOIS   or atleast some APOIS  SAY THEY ARE IJAWS  and they must be protected and given good every right to exist .
When did Igbo people ever claim land in rivers. You are a f00l o!!.

How do I say it you?
The whole idea of marginalizing non-indigens was an attempt to limit rapidly spreading Igbos covering the whole Nigerian landscape like proteus before and after the civil war. The idea was of course designed and implemented by the Hausa/Fulani intelligensia. "Jos is simply coming back to bite them on their butts"

While the Igbos elected the first Hausaman to be mayor of Enugu, you really can never imagine an Igbo being elected or even allowed to run a significant office in say Kano, Kaduna, or even Lagos with significant Igbo populations.
Same goes for Yoruba in Port Harcourt, etc.
I think the first mayor is a Fulani man.

there re indigenous hausa/fulani/kanuri in jos. I have always said this

1. Gambaris are not indigenous to kwara. reason why they are now considered as indigenes is because of the inter mixing with other ethnic groups in kwara.

2. Yorubas did not migrate to kogi. there are indigeneous there. infact there was nothing like okun yoruba before until babaginda moved them to kogi.

3. Asaba have been there times when asaba was well inhabited. No one could lay claims to that apart from the anioma people.

4. Hausa and kanuri are indigenous to jos way before the jihad by Usman. as far back as the 1400's. Unless he meant the fulani's are migrates then yes but not hausa or kanuri.
You mean Babangida moved Yoruba people to Kogi. Chei nothing wey we no go here for NL.

Bro! are you blind to see where i stated most Alaba igbo boys alone barely read or write in my first statement? who don't know what illiteracy means? did i say it must be in English language alone? man, you really need to visit an optician for some eyes-drop before replying back. When i was in sec sch, many igbo students runaway from igbo language prefer to offer yoruba language just because they find it hard to write test/exam in igbo language not that they're also good in Yoruba but they found yoruba language more preferable while many yoruba students can speak & write better in our language. As a matter of fact the Yoruba class will also be filled up with igbo, edo student etc while you'll only see 5 igbo students sitting for igbo language.

Man, if you can get my point am not saying its by degrees we obtain, but many igbo(s) can't write better in their language even in english smh!, there are alot of them at alaba market alone that i have come across, they can't read or write better all what they chase is paper thru pirated CDs.

The constitution of the country provides fundamental right to every citizen, I read some youths here arguing why Hausa should have a Local government area at where they are not indigenes. This is the biggest problem we have in Nigeria, the Population of Jos never said what ever million JOS natives or indigenes. It says What ever Number of Nigerians in Jos, And it is that population that gives that special statutory allocation to Jos from the federal government. The Hausas that made up that population must benefit from the allocation, the residential areas of the Hausas deserve to be developed and one way of doing so is by Local government creation. The Jos natives and many Igbos who argued that Hausas do not deserve an LGA in Jos are wrong and ignorant of the federal constitution, In Rivers state Oyigbo local government area is home to non indigenes and mostly Igbos from Abia and Imo, There was no war and today Oyigbo LGA is sprawling . Local government area is not created for Indigenes but for Nigerians living at that area.
Are there no Indigenous Igbos in Oyigbo abi na Obigbo? U be real mumu sha.
