Leicester City Football Club have agreed terms with AS Monaco for the transfer of midfielder Youri Tielemans for an undisclosed fee, subject to Premier League and international clearance. The 22-year-old has signed a four-year deal after a highly impressive loan spell with the Foxes during the second half of last season and becomes the third arrival of the summer after James Justin and Ayoze Pérez. The talented Belgium international has represented his country 23 times, including at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. His brilliant Premier League performances in 2018/19 – which saw him score three goals and assist four in 13 appearances – attracted the attention of a host of Europe’s top clubs, but it is with Leicester City that Tielemans has chosen to commit his future. Speaking to LCFC.com, Tielemans said: “It is such a great feeling to sign for this Football Club. Ever since I arrived on loan last season, all the players, the staff and the fans have been fantastic with me, so I’m thrilled to be able to become a Leicester City player. “I believe that we have the talent in our squad to achieve something special and for any player, that’s an exciting thing to be a part of. I really can’t wait to get started again with this Club and do everything I can to help my team-mates.” Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers said: “I’m delighted that Youri has chosen to be part of Leicester City’s journey. It’s an incredibly exciting time for this Football Club and to be able to bring players of Youri’s quality here is an indication of the hunger for success we have here. “Youri fit brilliantly into the squad last season, he’s already shown that he’s capable of making an impact in the Premier League and he adds another option to an incredibly talented group of players here at Leicester City.” Check out pictures here https://www.reportminds.com/2019/07/leicester-sign-youri-tielemans.html?m=1 Cc lalasticlala mynd44 missyb3 fynestboi |
UEFA has denied a shock claim that it had invited Argentina to the Nations League. The Argentine branch of the broadcaster reported the Albiceleste had been offered a place at the Nations League if they opted out of the Copa America following a tempestuous campaign in Brazil. However, the governing body said in a statement: “There is no truth whatsoever in the suggestion that Argentina has been asked to participate in UEFA competitions, nor to become a member of UEFA. “UEFA has never entered into any discussions on this matter and would never do so. “However, in the spirit of friendship and camaraderie and as an inclusive organisation, UEFA will, of course, invite Argentina as special guests to watch any UEFA competition at any time.” Source https://www.reportminds.com/2019/07/breaking-uefa-deny-reports-that.html?m=1 |

FIFA to expand Women?s World Cup, double prize money FIFA has announced its plan to capitalize on the success of the 2019 Women’s World Cup, which drew more than 1 million spectators and 1 billion television viewers, by expanding the competition and doubling the prize money. FIFA president, Gianni Infantino who disclosed this at FIFA’s closing news conference, said they are considering expanding the next Women's World Cup to 32 teams and doubling the prize money. According to him, the plan will go on even if it means reopening the bidding process now underway for the 2023 Women's World Cup. “It’s up to us to make sure we seize this opportunity and do something about it. Moving ahead for the next World Cup, we will double it. I am very confident that we can achieve the necessary figures in order to do that,” Infantino said. Infantino also promised that FIFA will invest a total of $1 billion in the women’s game over the next four years, having previously promised to invest $500 million in the women’s game. “The reserves that FIFA has are at [an] unprecedented high level. We have more than $2.7 billion reserves. We don’t need all this money in the Swiss banks. The Swiss banks have enough money. We can use some of it. And I will certainly ask that some of it will be reallocated for the development of women’s football,” he added. The prize money for the 2019 World Cup is $30 million, compared to $400 million for last year’s Men’s World Cup. Phillip Cocu has been appointed Derby's new manager on a four-year deal following Frank Lampard's move to Chelsea. The 48-year-old will be joined at Pride Park by his long-term assistants Twan Scheepers and Chris van der Weerden as part of his coaching staff at Derby. The Dutchman, like Lampard enjoyed a glittering playing career, winning league titles with PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona as well as making 101 appearances for the Netherlands. Cocu then won the Dutch league title three times in four seasons as PSV boss and joins the Rams after leaving Fenerbahce in October following a short, unsuccessful stint at the Turkish club. Derby's search focused on finding a coach capable of developing young talent and Cocu's record at PSV convinced them of that, quickly making him their number one target. During his time managing his home town club in Eindhoven, he spent around £49m on player recruitment, while generating more than £134m in player sales. Cocu will now join the team out in Sarasota on Florida's Gulf Coast for the club's 10-day pre-season training camp. Gianluigi Buffon has chosen No.77 shirt after his sensational return to Juventus. 'I thank both Chiellini & Szczesny, who spoke to me in the last few days and offered me the number 1 shirt and the captain's armband, What's fair, however, is that the starting GK keeps the number 1 and that Giorgio, who is like a brother to me, stay as the Captain', says Buffon. 'What will my shirt be? I thought of the '77', which represents a bit of my story, and it was with that number in Parma, playing a sensational season, that I had the chance to come to Juventus.' Buffon added that he was delighted to have the chance to return to Turin, where he gained a reputation as one of the world's finest goalkeepers over the years. "I am very happy to return home and have the chance to embrace you all once again," he told Juve fans in a video released on social media. "This is one of the happiest days of my life. Now I have confirmation that life is incredible and that dreams are worthwhile. "I come back because you cannot turn down a lady's invitation. I come back because this is my home." The Copa America is lacking a serious frontrunner for its Golden Boot award, with as many as 13 players currently sitting on two goals. Furthermore, eight of the 13 still have the possibility of adding to their tally as they remain in the competition, playing for either finalists Brazil or Peru or for the third-place playoff sides Argentina and Chile. With no criteria in place to clarify a winner in the place of a tie, the award would have to be shared among the 13 players should none of them add another goal. The 13 are: Edison Flores (Peru), Roberto Firmino, Everton and Philippe Coutinho (Brazil), Lautaro Martinez (Argentina), Eduardo Vargas and Alexis Sanchez (Chile), Duvan Zapata (Colombia), Koji Miyoshi (Japan), Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez (Uruguay) and Darwin Machis (Venezuela). Penalty shootout goals don't count towards the total. In the all-time lists, Paolo Guerrero is the highest scoring active player with 13 strikes in various editions of the competition, while Chile's Vargas has 12 and was the top scorer in 2016. Brazil's Zizinho and Argentina's Norberto Menendez lead the historical charts with 17 efforts each. Big Brother Naija star, Bamike popularly known as BamBam, has also revealed that she was raped by her ex-boyfriend and a spiritual leader. This is coming in the wake of the rape saga between Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) and singer Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola. My heart has been heavy since this rape situation started. Like I feel physical pains in my heart. I’ve been truly sad and have never wished that justice be truly served to these heartless! insensitive! brutal! unrepentant rapists!!! Cos I have been there, I know what it does to the mind and self esteem of the victim. It was with an ex boyfriend and a spiritual leader I trusted. Took me meeting another man who saw me for me before I healed completely. Sadly I couldn’t end up with him, but God used him. Be kind to women, some men have been raped too. Truly be kind to people, you don’t know what true love and true transfer of kindness love and light can do to another person. I’m in tears as I type cos it hurts really bad just remembering and knowing how victims feel. Cos when you take the body of another without their consent you mentally scar them too! Yo! I trust God and want to trust the law to do the needful! I tried not to relate this to my personal self but when you hear experiences you lived, you become restless, memories hunt you. I have been refreshing all the updates on the movement/protest for tomorrow. Something in my head keeps ringing would justice be served this time? Another is hoping and praying that it is truly SERVED rightly! I cannot overemphasize how a win for Busola will be victory for all! Lord help us all. Such a sick perverted generation. For the longest I didn’t realise I haven’t fully healed and mentally/emotionally dealt with what those events did to me. I repressed them. Repressed the memories shared with no one. It’s important to surround yourself with kind people who listen and understand you. It helps to heal properly. And please don’t repress, prayerfully talk to the right people. I look forward to Nigeria having a functional rehabilitation center for victims of rape.
