Ibrahimmrfish:Their initial refusal is what created this ugly cycle of events. Assuming that initial agreement was implemented, by now, Palestine would have her own military as a sovereign country, and Israel would have a formidable opponent to contend with. Palestine is just an observer state in the United Nations. Therefore does not have the diplomatic ingredients to advance her interest through that medium. Imagine how much Palestine could have done if she was an independent state. Don't allow people confuse you with "International Law". International law does not have enforcement backing, and most times is at the mercy of the Big-5 International law is nothing without the interest of the Big-5 |
DubaiLandLord1:China vs Taiwan China vs Philippines China vs India China vs Japan |
DubaiLandLord1:At least you affirmed that Russia is doing it. China is equally doing it in South East Asia. |
DubaiLandLord1:Is there any United Nations statute supporting this claim? The Big 5 has been doing it, and nothing has happened |
Saifullah01:There is no argument that majority of the middle east was under the ottoman empire. The land became a British mandate after the conquest of the Turks during WW1. Like the British, the Turks can no longer lay claim to that land. Likewise the areas that were controlled by Jordan and Syria. Turkey, Egypt and Syria are to be blamed for the confusion they instigated in 1947 when this crisis was almost settled. |
Egypt and and the Arab league is largely responsible for the ordeal the Palestinians are facing... Those lands were not stolen, majority was acquired through conquest after the Arab-Israeli wars Israel only expanded its grip on Palestinian lands (formally a British mandate) after the defeat of the Arab coalition in 1948 and 1967. If the Arab league had allowed reason to prevail when the UN Resolution partitioned that land to Two States (Jewish State of Israel, and Arab State of Palestine) in 1947, perhaps by now, Palestine would have been a thriving country on their own with her own army. But Egypt and the Arab coalition felt Israel was too small and feeble. Egyptian Generals even boasted that a war with Israel would be like a parade from Cairo to Tel Aviv, that Tel Aviv would be overtaken in two weeks. They opposed the UN Resolution for Two-State Solution by invading Israel, a battle they lost. Israel ceased more lands far more than what was given to her by the UN after the war. Can Israel be blamed for doing this? The answer is No, the the land is a war bounty. Syria lost the control of Golan Heights, Jordan lost the West Bank, Egypt lost the Gaza Strip after the 6 days war (3rd Arab war with Israel) in 1967. Israel obviously and overwhelmingly won the war and consolidated its grip on Palestine. Can Israel be blamed for controlling a land they conquered through war? No, cause in war, everything is fair. The Two-State solution the Palestinians and the Arab League opposed vehemently in 1947, is what they are now clamoring for, but unfortunately, Israel and her western allies especially the US is no longer keen on doing that. One very important fact to note is that, no country is a good country in the International System of power play. Palestine would do the same to Israel if she finds herself in that position because international politics is always about National Interest. Russia has been annexing Ukrainian lands (Crimea, Sevastopol etc), Russia has been making attempts to annex Georgia, Turkey has been muscling Armenia etc. No country is a good country, it is always about self and National Interest. PS: The land Israel is occupying is not entirely Palestinian land. They have historical ties to that land right from the time of Egypt and Babylonia. Israel only ceased Golan Heights, West Bank, East Jerusalem, Gaza Strip after the war with the Arab Coalition |
These online terrorists just swallowed a pie they'll vomit with blood in the coming days. Why people feel compelled to terrorize others without minding the sufferings of their victims is a thing that needs to be studied |
MusaKalhan:This is not the right place to say this. Go say it to Pantami and Shekau. You don't administer medicine to someone that is not sick |
It is only a leader that lacks the capacity to think, and bring to life those thoughts that always emphasize on pray pray pray. Nigeria has prayed from 1960 till date, yet the country is looking like a zombie land. Is it that the prayers don't go beyond the roof? Even God would be surprised with what Nigeria has turned into |
The proverbial chicken that left the knife that killed it to fight against the pot. Why arrest newspaper vendors? Nigeria police and dumb behavior is inseparable |
They should just end this setting of deadline. Nigerians don't even care |
Stone03:You are very generous with words. Thank you. I was banned, the reason I could not respond until now. |
The way some people reason in this country calls for concern. Contributing to a serious national discourse like the pros and cons of disintegration requires thoughtfulness, devoid of personal biases etc. The above piece betrays all the parameters of sensible commentary |

This proves nothing. Just throwing bones to create distraction. You said she was removed as a Director in 2015 due to your anticipatory appointment of Oby as a Minister, yet her name is still there as a Director in your company in 2021. Nigerians only need you to prove if she's a Director or not. If the former is the case, prove it so that Nigerians can shame her for her denial. But if the latter is the case, explain who smuggled her name and signature there |

NigeriaIsZOO:Yes it is @bold The balkanization was purely due to the politics of crude oil. Same thing was done in Edo state. Part of Egbema Kingdom is in Edo and Delta. The Agadagba of Egbema (The Beni-Pere) has his subjects in both Delta and Edo states. Yorubas are rewriting the Ijaw history in Ondo state largely because they control the media. Ijaws over there compounded the problem the moment some of them started taking Yoruba names. Taking foreign names is a widespread issue among among Ijaws generally, but the one in Ondo state was not strategically thought out in terms of politics. However, Yorubas sole claim over Ondo state is only on paper. Ijaws have always, and will always confront them in the battlefield whenever they overstep their bounds. Yorubas have learnt one or two things from previous conflicts |
There is no bigger embarrassment where a junior staff, more like a P. A, represented Mr President in same event that has the Vice President in attendance. There is hardly anything that is done correctly by this administration...it is a shame. Aisha Buhari is just another politician disguising as a lover of the public. She is even more dangerous because she plays the act well |
NigeriaIsZOO:It is naive Yoruba people that claim there are no Ijaws in Ondo state. Those names don't only appear Ijaw, they are Ijaw names and Ijaw people. I don't even understand why they referred to the paramount ruler as Oba in the report...instead of Pere/Amayanabo/Amanana-owei. Agadagba is a title for Ijaw kings in Egbema Kingdom of Edo/Delta/Ondo |
It is a sad tale that is now part of our history. Sometimes I wonder what really is wrong with Nigeria that the ruling class don't love her at all. Their actions are always about self interest, and never about moving the country forward. If they award a contract, the underlying reason is always about stealing money or an attempt to make some elements become rich overnight. They apply the law not to maintain order or preservation of the State, but to crush and defeat adversaries. The Police Force is nothing to write home about. With a crippled Legislature and constantly convulsing Executive, the country is just a shame to look from afar |
May God bless you both with everything good. I still don't understand why strangers mock other people online. Especially strangers that can't even put their lives on a plate for others to look at cause it worth nothing to look at |
Penguin2:It is very sad that some people believe the war against terror is not won because of lack of man power. @bold....has the Nigerian government given the security men we have now the right equipment? Not to talk of more 50,000 men Recruit 1 million people, and nothing would change. The situation has remained the same because government has not shown willingness to fight terrorists now termed bandits. Nigeria has over hundred thousand military men and women. Eliminate corruption and conflict of interest, the war would be worn in three months. Recruiting 50,000 men while same government is protecting those they are suppose to send to the afterlife, it would only increase the number of people killed by each terrorist. How often have you seen or heard government forces launching offensive on bandits locations. It is even more naive to think government don't know where they are, and their sponsors. It is just politics of 'I don't want to offend certain interests' that's why the country is where it is. |
If you quit your job, and start the search for another, it is still possible for you to meet another criminal employer again because they are more in number. Stick with your current job, while you perfect plans to get another better one or start a venture that's going to pay your bills sufficiently. However, what you are demanding for, or expecting, is it stated in your offer letter? |

omonnakoda:Judges are members of the Bench, and not the Bar |
IamYourNeighbor:This is what most persons are facing with no end in sight. From what I discovered, that space and few other places are not editable, at least for now. I wonder why they built a site that does not allow gender marking to be entered |
