Ka kwanta de hankalin ka a nairaland. Ka Dena kerya For the. benefit of those who don't understand Hausa language reading this post , I will translate what the quoted writer wrote. He called me a great liar and am.not telling the truth. That Muslims killed a lot of Christians In Katsina. That he once lived in the North especially Funtua and I should not use Naira land as an avenue to spread lies. My response: 1) here is the link to the Thisday Newspaper which you described In your incoherent Hausa Language as lies. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/re-election-and-talks-of-armageddon/198855/2) Do not feign ignorance in the face of evidence. Thisday newspaper is probably the most objective daily in Nigeria and no one ever doubted or disputed its content. It is published by a Southerner, a Niger Deltan Christian Nduka Obaigbena. 3) Much as you use nairaland.com to express your views, refrain from using from using all sorts of invectives on fellow forum users. 4) Much as you claim to have lived in the North, you paint every northerner as a violent set of people. Katsina State is one of the most peaceful states in the country. You hardly see religious, ethnic or political crisis because it is the knowledge basket of the Northern Nigeria. Sokoto comes second and Kebbi third in that regard.Katsina men marry more women outside their tribe than other Hausas and they integrate better. 5) The writer is not a Northerner but a Yoruba ,an Indigene of Isale Eko in Lagos State who was born in Kaduna and doing business here so don't get the idea that I am a northerner trying to defend his people. finally, I find it hard to believe that some educated people are worse than stark illiterates. Ignorance is no excuse in all ramifications of life. You displayed a very deep sense of ignorance by not checking on the Newspaper write either online or offline before you called me a liar in your post. It would have been polite if asked me to post the link. Have a Blessed Day. . |

sbaks: if you have stayed in the north, and have Seen the heinousness of this people you may say I'm not even reporting well. GOD will forgive our media houses (especially NTA) the way they reported funtua crisis ehn let Me just stop here at least for now Before you demolish all Muslims with your comments , read this: ECWA MATAAZU Have you read the report that a 99-year-old ECWA Church in Mataazu, Katsina State, is about to be demolished by the government? My first response is that no matter the offence, it is a monument that should be preserved. Well, it was all a rumour. According to the Katsina State Inter-faith Committee, a fence that was built without approval is what is under query. People just like to create avoidable tension. Meanwhile, the Mataazu district head of, Alhaji Ibrahim Maikano, has said Muslims and Christians have been living "peacefully together in the area for the past 100 years ". Instructive. Travel › Re: Crazy Things People Do During Harmattan Season In Jos by rhames(m): 7:15pm On Jan 12, 2015 |
Larrylarex: The Jos Plateau is the largest plateau in Nigeria and owing to its elevation, Jos is the coldest city in Nigeria (about the temperature of California, USA) for example, the temperature here now us about 15°C and it has gone south of 10°C at a point in this winter (Yes it is better referred to as winter, this one don pass ordinary harmattan) Because of this cold weather, people usually does some things that would be considered wild by Lagos standards. I present to you below, a few of them.
1. Boiling water to brush teeth or do dishes:
Some people actually boil the water they wanted to use for brushing Their teeth or do their dishes because ordinary water will be freezing cold and coupled with the freezing breeze is a no no
2. Ladies wearing socks on ANYTHING they wore:
It is not uncommon seeing 'Big girls' wearing socks on office suits and skirts, even after dressing for an owanbe party, socks and gloves were freely worn on the Ankara and lace attires. In short, their is no dressing that's weird here, anything goes PS: Weird dressing doesn't exclude men too o! I saw a man yesterday that wore a sweater over his shirt before putting on the suit jacket
3. Purposely Staying under the sun:
You'll see people intentionally staying under the sun as soon as it comes out just to feel the warmth of the greatest source of energy.
4. Bathing with boiled water:
I dare say that there is nobody I mean NOBODY in this Jos that has the effrontery to bath with ordinary water as history has it that some people actually froze to their death when they tried it in times past.
5. Putting on electric stove in the bedroom:
because of the unusual cold, some people will put on the electric stove at night just so they can be warm throughout the night.
6. Sleeping with more than two pieces of clothing on:
Its a common thing if people slept dressing like an astronaut, I mean with two trousers, two shirts, one Cardigan, head warmer and hear muffs, Hand gloves and socks all under a cover cloth/duvet! Lil!
If you're staying on the Jos or Taraba plateau please add yours
Iamlarex Wearing two jackets or suits. |

cuteboy2: Kastina State Urban and Regional Planning Board (KSURPB) intends to demolish the 99 years old ECWA Church Headquarters Mission in Mataazu in Mataazu Local Government Area of Katsina State claiming that the church has no approved development permit. The plan, according to Katsina state government says it intends to build a road through the middle of the ancient church compound which contains school, the old church premises, and offices.
A memo conveying the ultimatum entitled: “Stop Notice” from the Katsina State Urban and Regional Planning Board, signed by one Hussain A. Lawal (Development Control Manager) for General Manager dated January 6, 2015, sent to ECWA Trustees accused the church of building without the necessary legal requirements of planning permission from KSURPB or in violation of such permission.
The questions bothering everyone's mind are:
1. How can a 99 yr old church built before Nigeria existed as a nation possess building permit?
2. Katsina landscape is typical sahel arid region, open countryside with enough open and free land which affords for easy detour of this road. Why construct a road straight through such ancient building? Hey people. The Government has come to say it is not the Church but the fence that is going to be demolished. |

Phones › Re: The Real Meanings Of These Smartphone Features: LTE, OTG, OTA, SNS & NFC by rhames(m): 7:19pm On Jan 08, 2015 |
eddyland: Today, many of you see these features LTE, OTG, OTA, SNS & NFC on smartphones, without actually knowing what they stand for or do to your phones. Have you being wondering what these hi-tech features of smartphones and other mobile device mean and their functions in your phone? Now lets break them down for your understanding.
1. LTE - This stands for Long Term Evolution and a phone that has LTE simply means that that phone is 4G network enabled.
2. OTG - This stands for On The Go meaning that devices with OTG supports USB On The Go. In other words, with such devices, you can use USB devices like flashdrives and printers directly with the phone.
3. OTA -it means Over The Air and therefore devices that support OTA can receive device updates and can easily be updated without needing a PC..
4. SNS -it stands for Social Network Service. Devices with SNS simply mean that the device can easily establish social networks of people via notable social network mediums.
5. NFC -this stands for Near Field Communication. It works like bluetooth but at a very short range for sharing files. It is more secured to use and you don't need to pair or set up anything before making use of it. You can even use it to pay bills and as a travel ticket if your phone has NFC.

fjigga: Hello,
How can Nigerians trade in the US Stock Market? Are their firms here that enable that or are their websites through which one can do this?
Thanks choose a broker online and open an account. some of these brokerage firms don't have Nigeria on their list but you can use a US address for between $5 to $10 each month. their requirements are proper identification as per US Laws. Use your international Passport from for that. If you are not experienced, you can subscribe to elder.com.or wandering trader. if you live in Lagos I can refer you to a master of the game. |
