It is not the responsibility of the military to arrest civilians. That is the duty of the police, backed by a court order from a judge or magistrate. The military belongs in the barracks. Their services are called for when it is time to defend the nation from foreign threats. The military should desist from ridiculing themselves. It is only in Nigeria that military men serve as gatemen and bodyguards. That is a shame.

'For those of us who have lost hope (and faith?) In the Nigerian Police Force and think nothing good can ever come out of them, I have a very pleasant surprise for you.
I was minding my business somewhere around CMS Bus Stop on Lagos Island this afternoon and witnessed an incident I just had to capture on camera and share here.
Apparently, there had been a minor accident minutes before between two commercial cycles...a Tricycle (Keke NAPEP) and a Motorcycle (OKADA).
Lo and behold, the Mobile Policemen on duty nearby rushed to the scene, not to demand for bribe, but to give First Aid treatment to a victim of the accident.complete with their own First Aid Kit'
goldcoinhub: Nigerian singer, Runtown is once again in trouble with the law as his enstranged label, Eric Many has once again dragged him to court in a fresh case of contempt of court after Runtown released a new song despite a court order against him.
According to a statement signed by the label's general manager, Johnson Adumike,
'We are in Court with Runtown for his breach of our Recording Contract. We sued him because while applying to the Registrar of Trademarks in Abuja to register professional names licensed to us during the duration of our contract, Runtown also unilaterally terminated our Recording Contract with him'.
'While our Contract is supposed to fall due for expiration on 22nd June 2018, Ericmany has an outstanding balance of about N266,694,755.08 to recoup on our investment and expenses on Runtown.
He also failed to deliver an Album which the Contract requires him to deliver to us during the Contract Period. Under the contract if there is outstanding money or Album by 22nd June, 2018, end of the Contract Period, the Contract enters into an Option Period of one year. Runtown has neither honoured the Contract Period nor the Option Period.
Following our application, Abuja High Court made an Interim Order on 10th May, 2018, barring Runtown from any performance or recording of any song outside our Contract until the issues are sorted out by Court.
'The Judge also ordered that status quo be maintained until our Motion praying for this protection is decided. Yet on 27th June, 2018 Runtown released a new song outside our Contract. Determined to follow due process in our dispute with Runtown we have filed a Contempt of Court case against him.
Following Court Order to serve Runtown by publication in the Punch, our Notice of Contempt of Court is published at page 22 of The Punch Newspaper today. If he still fails to respect Court Order by removing the song, we will follow up with the next steps to ensure Runtown is committed to prison, since he is not above the law.
'If he felt the Court Order is wrong, his lawyer has already appeared in Court and filed papers. It is for his lawyer to show the Court that the Order is wrong. It is not open to Runtown to ignore Court Order. It is important to state that we are at home with the fact that Runtown does not intend to continue working with us.
We are not in any confusion about that. We have therefore not asked the Court to order him to continue working with us. Our case is for recovery of our money and the Album he owes in line with the Contract. It is the duty of both sides to abide by Court Orders. So Ericmany will continue t rely on due process until we get justice'.

Steve has designed a 9 hole golf course in southeastern Nigeria which is presently under construction. The golf course is being constructed on a sloping site through an old palm plantation with superb views over the surrounding countryside. The course has been routed to avoid removing any of the large existing trees on site and the sloping areas are shaped to divert the surface water in many directions and reduce erosion from the heavy rains in this area. Three small lakes are being constructed to contain water flowing through the course and add to the irrigation reserve and are topped up by deep boreholes. This is Steve Ritsons second golf course designed and built in Nigeria.
Jaytextoons: 15-year old teenager confesses he made over 500 bombs used for suicide missions by Boko Haram
A 15 year-old former Boko Haram bomb maker, Ali Goni has made a chilling confession about how he made over 500 underwear Improvised Explosive Devices(IEDs) used by insurgents for suicide missions on soft targets in the last five years.
Ali Goni was only ten years old and in primary six when he was kidnapped in Bama. The military authorities described the teenager as the most deadly Boko Haram member, who had mastered various techniques that can cause maximum destruction of lives.
Army intelligence sources said the suspect is the most innovative bomb maker to emerge in recent years.
Goni, who is undergoing rehabilitation at a military detention camp in Maiduguri, told NAN recently that he assembled IEDs with fragmented materials and configure them for suicide missions. He said he introduced the use of padlock to IEDs strapped on bombers that can hardly be demobilised or detected by bomb detectors.
“I was kidnapped along with my mother in Bama’s Kawuri Street by Baba Kaka, a dreaded Boko Haram commander. They took us to Sambisa and kept us in a camp called “Kwalfata”. We underwent various training in the camp. During the course of our induction training, I was selected to be trained on bomb making technique, bomb detection as well as identifying and demobilising explosives.
I refused initially, but they said they would kill my mother just like the way they killed my father when they stormed Bama. So I eventually agreed. During the training, many of my colleagues died while trying to make bombs. At the end I emerged the best among all. My job was to make many bombs that would be used for suicide missions. I was working under the supervision of Baba Musa, a 70 year-old.
Musa also thought me the new technique of making underwear IED with padlock. At some point, I was the only bomb maker when all those I was trained with were killed by the military during several attacks. So they took me from camp to camps to make IEDs for suicide missions.
I was in Kangarwa, Pulka, Banki and other camps. I managed to escape when the military bombed our camp in Baga. I ran to Cameroon where I surrendered to the Cameroonian forces. I was later handed over to the Nigeria military. Goni hoped to be a soldier in the future to help the military in identifying IEDs. The military did not allow his photographs to be taken because of his age.

He has no can to open except a can of Heineken. If he did, he will open it without making any publicity announcement. Orji Uzor Kalu made the same claim. We are still waiting for that list of corrupt politicians he promised Nigerians many years ago. Every politician tows that line when they are trying to beg without begging. If he has something to say, he should say it without making a scene. Otherwise, as Fela said, all na shakara.

A Baptism Church, its pastorium, Government Hospital and 17 houses burnt were razed by the assailants.
But I thought Buhari already solved this matter by consulting the oracles of Daura and pleading for their divine intervention. Well, Osinbajo you better update that list of people to pay money to to compensate for lost relatives

A brood of vampires. How do we reward a man that captained our national team at the World Cup? Kidnap his father. An aggregation of blood sucking, ball sniffing demonic entities. It would not surprise me if some Nigerians are found on Otedola bridge collecting grilled remains of their fellow humans for supper.

DONSMITH123: The World Bank has announced the approval of $2.1bn loan for seven projects to be executed in Nigeria.
A statement issued in Abuja on Thursday said the loans were approved in Washington on Wednesday and are for seven projects to support Nigeria’s investment in nutrition, access to electricity, states’ fiscal transparency, polio eradication, women’s economic empowerment, public finance and national statistics and reducing vulnerability to soil erosion.
World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, Rachid Benmessaoud, was quoted to have said, “The Federal Government of Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan identifies human capital investment, restoring growth, and building a competitive economy as its key pillars.
The projects approved by the International Development Association, the bank’s low-interest arm, are expected to support Nigeria’s economic growth plan.
Growth rates in Nigeria have bounced back since the third quarter of 2016, when a recession, its first in 25 years, bottomed out. Growth returned largely due to higher oil prices, with the country relying on crude sales for much of its revenue.
However, growth slowed again in the first quarter of 2018, as the country’s non-oil sector struggled.
The government expects growth to rise to a pre-recession level of 7 percent by 2020.
The World Bank said more than half of the loans would be used to fund power and climate change projects and boost fiscal transparency. It also approved a $7 million grant for nutrition.
Nigeria privatised most of its power sector in 2013 but retained control of its dilapidated monopoly transmission grid, often blamed for hobbling growth.
The country intends to raise $2.8 billion of debt offshore to help part-finance its 2018 budget and plans to explore all options to lower costs, the debt office head told Reuters.
The debt office said it could tap capital markets or concessionary loans from the World Bank after the 2018 budget had been approved.
hisexcellency34: Senator Abubakar Sodangi, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has said he is confident that the South- East will region will vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
Sodangi, a three-term senator who represented Nassarawa West from 1999 to 2011 in a chat with DAILY INDEPENDENT said though the region did not vote for Buhari in the 2015 presidential election, they will do so now because the president has done a lot for them in the last three years.
He also advised the South East to join APC which according to him is the winning team rather than remaining in the opposition. “I believe the South- East will go with Buhari in 2019 because there have been lots of changes since 2015. Buhari has come to demonstrate that he is not the leader of the APC or only those who elected him, he is the president of the whole country even in the South East”.
“What matters to him is delivery of dividends of democracy and creating peace and tranquility. That is what he is advocating in all the lands, especially in the South East”.
“I want to believe that South East will join other regions that will go with President Buhari. It is always good to join the winning team than to be a loser and to be in the opposition” he said.
As fallacious as this Abubakar Sodangi may sound, he is absolutely correct. The Igbos are the swing vote ethnic group in Nigeria. Dangle a few pennies, and their so-called leaders will line up and deliver the souls of their umunna and ikwunne for appointments and contracts. The likes of Orji Uzor Kalu, Arthur Eze, Ogbonnaya Onu, Rochas the cockroach and Chris Ngige have already lined up since 2015 to deliver Igbo votes to Buhari in 2019. This is the reality. Unless the Igbos disown these truants and so called elders and get their acts together, every other ethnic group will mobilize and forge a front and then use the Igbos to complete the numbers. It should not be so for one of the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria. No hard feelings here. Just saying.
