Omooba77: First it was Boko Haram, ravaging the North East of Nigeria. Later herdsmen killing in Benue and Taraba and it has now spread to Plateau. Please when will all these killings stop; the blood of innocents may be railing curses upon our land. Unfortunately, it will take more than a miracle to stop. There are far too many arms in the wrong hands and far too many corrupt people in the military. Back in the day, the military was the last resort for maintaining law and order. By exposing soldiers to civilian life and utilizing them for providing security to corrupt politicians and criminals alike, the last resort for orderliness in Nigeria (the military) have sold their souls to the devil. Otherwise why are the 2 states that produced the highest number of soldiers int he 80s (Benue-Plateau) now the center of senseless killings for the past 2 years or thereabout. Nzeogwu would be tossing in his grave by now. |

A bus driver who refused giving N50 bribe has been molested by the Nigerian police and on his refusal they stripped him, forcing him into their vehicle but he went under the police vehicle asking them to crush him to death instead of forcing him to the station for a crime he did not commit

We get what we ask for. Surely every student in UNN should be eligible to vote. If they decide to sponsor a candidate to the senate or house of rep, their collective votes will earn them a true representative in the legislature and probably a voice to correct this madness. If young men and women can come together under the auspices of cultism, form blood bonds and then turn around and start stabbing each other in the name of beef, what stops them from burying their seeds of selfish discord, build bridges, come together and unite under one strong united front of Nigerian students. Western nations recognize this, hence almost every presidential debate in Europe or the US is held in a university. Every political campaign is launched in a university or college. If the SUG president of UNN can liaise with other SUG presidents across the country, imagine what a potent political force they can come up with. The very people currently running this country loot the country dry, funnel the funds overseas to provide the best education and lifestyle for their offspring, and at the same time promote this cesspool of an environment for the average Nigerian student to wallow in. Nigerian students, rise up and vote out all your fathers and grandfathers who continue to hold your future hostage. Get your PVC today. |
Health › Re: Youths In Adamawa Drink Human Urine To Get High - NDLEA by Rhea: 2:01am On Jun 27, 2018 |
EmagNig: The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Command in Adamawa says some youth in the state now utilises human urine to intoxicate themselves.
The state commander of agency, Mr Yakubu Kibo made this known Tuesday in Yola in his speech to mark the 2018 UN International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Kibo said other new items abused include dry pawpaw leaves, dry plantain leaves, burnt tyres, as well as a solution made from tom tom sweet and lacasera drink, Guardian reports.
“It is important for parents to know and pay attention to the recently discovered substances of abuse like dry paw paw leaves, tom tom in lacasera drink, 10 days old human urine, methylated, spirit in coke drink, dry plantain leaves, burnt tyres among others,” he said.
While describing drug abuse as a rampaging fire that does not discriminate, Kibo called for collaborative effort to create a drug free society.
“For the drug war to be successful, the supply and demand reduction must go hand in hand.
“To that effect, from January to date, the Adamawa command has seized 2,742.358 kg of assorted illicit drugs,” he said.
Kibo said the seized drugs included cannabis sativa, tramadol tablets, cough syrup with codeine, diazepam tablets, exol-5, pentozocine injection and codeine tablets.
He also said that a total of 67 suspected drug dealers were arrested within the period under review out of which 26 were convicted and sentenced to various jail terms.
In areas of counseling and rehabilitation, Kibo said 20 drug addicts were counseled and rehabilitated within the year.
He listed lack of operational vehicle, inadequate staff, poor funding and hostilities by some communities as the major challenges facing the agency in the state.
https://lailasnews.com/youths-in-adamawa-now-get-high-on-human-urine-ndlea/ What business of NDLEA is it if one decides to consume their 10-day old urine? We live in a country where we recycle politicians, drive recycled cars, wear recycled cloths. Why deprive frustrated people from recycling their urine? Niyi74: The bolded part got me laughing hard . Seriously anyone intending to study engineering should go for a branch that he/she can easily build a business on. Someone highlighted how it is easy to go into consulting with a Civil Engineering degree and adequate post-graduate training and experience. Electrical Engineering is also a branch of engineering one can easily build businesses on. Agricultural Engineering however has the best prospect in terms of making one a multi-millionaire in 10years like you asserted. I wouldn't even advise an Agricultural Engineering graduate to go into farming directly. With a good loan the best aspect of Agricultural Engineering to invest on presently in Nigeria is Post-harvest Technology. You have spoken with a lot of maturity and wisdom. The baby I was advising obviously assume I was making fun of him. But then, if everyone had the foresight to decipher and implement a good advice, the world would be full of millionaires. The richest people today are those that employ labour, not those queuing in line to get a 8-4 job. Nigeria will soon hit 200 million, and all those mouth will be fed one way or the other. Farmers have always been millionaires wherever you find them. But our shortsightedness prevents us from separating a farmer from the image of a man in rags with a how slung over his shoulder. |

oludyke: Nigeria is in big problem” – UK-based Nigerian doctor warns herald.ng Jun 15, 2018 11:18 AM
A UK-based Nigerian doctor, Dr Harvey Olufunmilayo, has decried the huge number of Nigerian doctors seeking greener pastures abroad.
Olufunmilayo, who practises in Leeds, said about 1,000 Nigerian doctors passed the Plab1 exam in March 2018 to enable them practice in the UK.
The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) had in January 2018 said that there were 4,000 patients to one doctor in Nigeria, describing the trend as unacceptable.
Olufunmilayo, who took to his Twitter handle, explained that four million Nigerian patients would be denied access to a doctor should the 1,000 doctors leave Nigerian shores.
He said, “In March, about 1,500 doctors wrote the Plab1 exam to work in the UK and about 1,000 passed. In a country that 1 doctor cares for about 4,000 patients; losing 1,000 doctors means 4million Nigerians will find it harder to see a doctor. We are playing with fire as a nation.
“Remember this analysis is based solely on the March 2018 Plab Exams alone. The same exam is written twice a year in Nigeria. And with more hardship, more doctors will be writing by November 2018. And we are yet to talk of those going to other countries like USA or Canada.
“We have a big problem on our hands. There is a big fire burning and everyone is looking away thinking all is well. We largely have under-equipped hospitals with underpaid/overworked staff and overpopulated patients. Now with more health professionals’ exit, what will happen?
“Have we decided that we will wait till our hospitals turn to museums with antique outdated equipments that has no professional to utilise them for sick and dying patients before we realise the grave danger associated with this continuous exit of medical workers from the country?
“I was having a chat with a younger colleague friend preparing for the exam. She’s part of a WhatsApp group that is already full to the brim – with 256 doctors preparing to take the same exams to leave the country. And she said she knows at least 2 of such full groups. Oh Lord!
“My people, let’s be clear – doctors are working on their exit on a daily basis. This fire we are ignoring, when it burns, and it wil, no one will be spared. Even if you are rich, even if you are powerful, someone you know will fall victim of this same health sector you are destroying.
“And as I stated earlier, 1 Nigerian doctor should take care of 4000 Nigerians. Losing 1,000 doctors (based on the March 2018 Plab UK exams alone) is effectively making it extremely difficult for 4 million Nigerians to see a doctor. How are you in government and comfortable with this?
“And if you are a government official and you are thinking you have the money and/or the means to always take care of yourself or your family in some overseas country if you fall sick, then let me explain to you why that reasoning is retarded and very daft. Because sadly, it really is.
“There are medical calamities that befall a person and requires immediate intervention. If you have a sudden heart attack or a serious stroke or severe sepsis, such an emergency can’t wait for you to get on a private jet. You will be taken to the same hospitals that you ruined.
“I don’t need to mention names but many government officials have also been rushed to the same under-equipped hospitals with underpaid unmotivated staff, and those your colleagues in government died from things that could be easily prevented IF you ever paid any attention to the health sector.”

Mychive: For months now, I have been having these dark coloured stuffs/layers on my skin of which I had to consult a medical doctor who in turn told me it's an "Allergy" after explaining to him that these dark layers doesn't scratch, itch or pain me except for the blemish it's causing on my skin. NOT SCRATCHING NO PAIN NO ITCHING Just the colour blemish.
He gave me some drugs prescription which I used for three weeks but no improvement. I went back to complain to him and he directed me to some Dermatologist in the state hospital.
The Dermatologist I met in the first week wrote several tests which I should do for me after explaining everything to her which I proceeded to the Lab to do. Microfilaria test, Stool, Urine and see kinds of blood tests were carried out of which all tested NEGATIVE to whatever they have tested each specimen / sample for.
Took the results to the state hospital weeks after but I met another Gynaecologist (Rotation) who later asked me to go for HIV test after showing her all the results and this blemish on my skin.
She told me the drugs and cream I used for the treatment in the first place won't work, but she reaffirmed that it's AN ALLERGY like the Medical Doctor told me in the first place. She prescribed another cream of which I have used for weeks, yet, no changes!
Doctors, dermatologists in the house, please your help is needed. The fact that it does not itch portends to a systemic cause. It has something to do with what you are ingesting or what is happening inside your body. What medicines are you currently taking? Did you take any antibiotics in the last 6 months? dammy13: Surgeons who attended to ex-House member Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele after he was shot have removed 2 bullets from hsi body.
Bamidele is now said to be in a stable condition after the five hour surgery.
He was one of the 6 people who were hit when a mobile policeman opened fire in the direction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi at the party’s secretariat, Ado Ekiti.
Fayemi was, at the time, surrounded by many party faithfuls including Bamidele.
He and the other victims were rushed to the hospital.
He immediately went under the knife to remove the bullets.
One of the bullets was removed from his abdominal region and the other from his leg.
The APC insisted yesterday that Friday’s shooting was all about eliminating Fayemi even as the police said it was a case of accidental discharge.
But they said they have in their custody the policeman and a politician said to have taken him to the APC secretariat.
The Nation gathered that Bamidele’s surgery was carried out by an eight man team including four consultants.
It started at about 7pm and lasted till 12 midnight.
Besides, Bamidele also received blood transfusion on admission to replenish the blood he had lost following the shooting.
Bamidele’s media aide, Ahmed Salami, yesterday dismissed speculations that he was in coma.
“Let me assure our supporters in Ekiti and other concerned Nigerians that Bamidele is not in coma. He has regained consciousness and is fast recuperating due to prompt and the intensive medical treatment he received thereafter.
“It is true that Bamidele has passed through major surgeries and the bullets have been removed from his abdominal region and leg.”

Primary syphilis can last up to 3 months and is relatively easy to cure. If you do not treat it, it will disappear, and that pastor will take the glory for curing you miraculously. Then Secondary syphilis will follow. That is the one that can make you blind and scatter your joints. Still left uncured, then tertiary syphilis will land.
