As a Nigerian, I'm aware of curses but as a psychologist, I also believe many are not curses but life patterns. A man who derived pleasure in beating the wife , eventually , no woman will stay him. maybe he changed 3 wives within 10years. The child won't see a big deal beating the wife and no woman will stay with him. Now, we will say it is a curse in the family that they change wives like clothes ignoring the bad attitude of the men in the family. May God grant us wisdom.
