No Qualms:

If the Iron is not in powder form (ground), it is of larger volume

Mass = Density * Volume

So, if mass is constant, then density and volume have an inverse relationship, i.e., the lower the density, the higher the volume.

Since powder has a lower density than iron, then powder has a higher volume, given mass equality.

The form the iron takes (powder or not) may not be relevant, as long as the density of iron is fixed, which is a reasonable assumption.

This is my bottom-line: 99% of Nigerian Leaders have always had ulterior motives. Exempt from this (in my opinion) were Murtala Mohammed, Muhammadu Buhari, and Tunde Idiagbon. The rest were never patriots.

The two others I believe had good intentions (but never achieved their aims) were Maj. Nzeogwu and Gideon Orkar. The rest? I'd have a beer with the devil before I believe any trash that came out of their mouths. You can the result today.

So, why didn't the South support Buhari instead of the clueless entity occupying Aso Rock?

No hope for Nigeria until:

1. The country breaks up into to more manageable components so as to weaken the severely strong center,  overcompensating for decades of flawed devolution of powers.

2. The suffering triggers a revolution, likely leading to a civil war, that will see the violent purge of a generation of profoundly corrupt political class.

Outside these, I see no hope for Lord Luggard's 1914 experiment.

Big B1:

A country that has no laws or weak laws has no criminals.

In Nigeria leaders are mostly f00ls with a very tiny brain, the followers are also slow with a very low standard of thinking; therefore, a combination of popcorn and peanut has no match, nothing else is better.

How can you point fingers at Sanusi when we've elected an empty shell to reside at Aso Rock?

On point!

@Post,
If this is true, it wouldn't surprise me. SLS is a mediocre who thinks he is the smartest man the north has produced in years. I hope clueless GEJ will prevail on this charlatan to amend this by either redefining the donation to include other BH victims, or giving equitably to other BH victims. However, what are the chances of a clueless man talking sense to an arrogant bigot like SLS?

I also await the SLS apologists to come to his defense on this.

Are there Mathematicians in the house? If FG loose #320bn daily due to this Strike, that means in 5days the strike started tomorrow FG would have lost #1.6 Trillion Naira.

Mathematically  #320billion X 5 Days = #1.6 Trillion Naira

If FG can afford to loose 1.6 Trillion Naira in just 5 Days, then why the Subsidy? I don't understand why FG have to cut off a head because of headache, instead they should prosecute the Cabals who are not bigger than Nigeria and wants the masses to suffer for their Fraud.

Our Voice must be heard for once. #65 or Nothing.

@calculusx,

Your chances of making an assembled troop of monkeys perfectly understand calculus are much better than GEJ comprehending your comment.

end of story

most of us who are against gej have despite the odds managed to be in a position to earn a comfortable living in nigeria. granted, our buying power etal is limited by nigerian type expenses - genertaor, diesel, repairring of vehicles on bad roads - but we are still making out alright

it is the masses, like our carpenter who delayed a over due job for months only to show up late last saturday explaining that his wife is ill and in hospital, he had to send his kids to the village to stay with his folks because he could not cope, and the kids fell ill, he has no money to handle any of the bills, (and he has already lost a child a year ago)

it is my neighbour who woke me up at 12 am to tell me his wife was in labor and we drove from festac to apapa at 1am only to get to the hospital and find it closed because of doctor's strike, after which my wife had to make a call to a private hospital in festac who were gracious enough to take them in without demanding money up front

it is the maiguard in my close, who fell ill and was subsisting on medicine from quacks until my wife found out and put him in a hospital

it is my other neighbours whose kids are still struggling to get into uni, and who came to beg that we lend them money for their kis school fees

those are the people who will continue to suffer and continue to be forced to live  a miserable existence, those whose future and dreams wiill continue to be trucated so a greedy few can stash away billions for their unborn generations.

Excellent narrative. Thanks for sharing.

Last night was full of tension, first the UEFA Champions League, then the alliance talk. Well today is a new day: no alliance, no blame game. BB is now focusing on today's Abuja Town Hall meeting. Join BB at 11am at the International Conference Centre, thereafter a press conference will follow. I respect buhari the more by standing with his running mate. How can Tinubu insist that bakare sign a pre-dated resignation letter! God will see us through in whatever way. And we lose, at least my vote was accounted among those for change. But we remain optimistic.

Well, if that's true, it's in line with my view of Tinubu as a political thug and an expert on primitive politics.

Vote BB for change!
Politics / Re: Buhari Is Corrupt Afterall by RichyBlacK(m): 10:52am On Apr 13, 2011
He maintained a vibrant foreign policy with Africa as its principal focus.  Nigeria was already a failed state economically when he seized government from Shagari.  We had a staggering foreign debt load of US$18 billion, so Buhari stopped all further borrowing, and in defiance of the IMF and World Bank, provided a home-grown alternative to the IMF’s SAP and pegged the exchange rate of the naira at one to the US$1.50. He stopped all further borrowing from abroad; instituted counter trade for essential or desperately needed commodities and put a ceiling (or an upper limit) on the amount of foreign exchange earnings to be used in servicing foreign debts.  After sorting out and rejecting all the dubious and unverifiable foreign debts in our portfolio, he paid off nearly 50% of the genuine debts by the end of his regime in 1985.  Even Britain was already scheming to enter into counter trade agreement with Nigeria when Babangida was sponsored in 1986 by the West to sack Buhari in a military coup that reversed our limited economic gains.

No PDP president can do this!

Please let's vote out the PDP gang.
Politics / Re: But For Buhari/tinubu, Nigeria Would Have Become One-party State by RichyBlacK(m): 7:46pm On Apr 10, 2011
Jarus:

Call them any name, there is no denying the fact that these are the men that have prevented Nigeria from degenerating into a one-party state. Tinubu could have joined PDP and will still maintain godfather status, even now at national level. If Tinubu defects to PDP, he stands to lose nothing. He will stil be commanding things. He has the money, ruggedity, connection and tricks to be a successful politician by PDP standard.

On the other hand, if not for Buhari, PDP would have overtaken everywhere in the North. ANPP's little grasp of some areas in the North is still due to Buhari's footprints there. Now CPC is making waves due to Buhari factor again. Buhari could, like fellow Generals Obasanjo, IBB, Gusau etc, have also joined PDP and run things the dirty way. He may not be able to clinch PDP presidential ticket due to his natural averseness to the PDP ways, but he would have still been a godfather in PDP, holding the key to locking and unlocking NW. Yet he refused to join PDP.

Give it to this men, they are heroes of democratic Nigeria.

Jarus,

You subtly distinguished these two guys based on what you termed "the PDP ways", and what I'll call "corruption with impunity". However, despite this clear dichotomy in their philosophies, you still declare both men "heroes of democratic Nigeria"?

I don't think Tinubu, one of the symbols of primitive politics, corruption and thuggery in Nigeria, should be called a "hero" of democracy.

Politics / Re: Between Igbo, Yoruba And Other Nigerian Women. What Is It With Igbo Women? by RichyBlacK(m): 3:44am On Apr 10, 2011
RevMallam:

I believe most responders to the well articulated question posed by the author seem to have either chosen to interject tribal jingoisms or simply ignored the  question and drifted to expected responses based on tribal sentiments.
I am of the opinion that what the author was trying to say are these:
(1) Igbo women have done well and continue to excel in whatever they do. They should be emulated by others.
(2) Yoruba women, "it's time to catch up. Your primary competitors are leaving you". This is a call to arms for you.
(3) The northern women, though huge in numbers have very little to show. (but same can be said of the men, sadly)
(4) Finally I think, he is saying, Igbo women, don’t get complacent, your competitors are watching.

Love or hate the Igbos, they are an enigma that should be copied and  emulated. The fact that they are where they are today after a devastating war tells a lot about them. In my opinion, what other should be doing is trying to find out what makes the Igbos tick and  attempt to beat them at their own game. The Japanese did same to Americans and the Chinese are now doing same. So don't bash the  Igbos, rather attempt to out do them if you can.

I believe, the Igbos for whatever reason believe they are born with their backs against the wall. This may help explain why they are hell bent on succeeding and excelling. In fact, Ojukwu used this to lead his folks to fight to the last man standing.
There was a guy on Radio Biafra  Okon Okon Ndem, who used to begin his broadcasts by reminding the Igbos that "he who is surrounded by enemies is on perpetual guard , " (Maybe Igbo folks on this trade can speak more on this).
As for those that are defending the subjugation of women and in fact the entire populace by a few elite from the core North, I think we are doing a great dis-service to ourselves.

The fact that Imo State in the East produces more University Graduates than the entire North should be a cause for worry and shame. In fact, left alone, 2 Igbo states, Imo and Abia can fill the the entire University allocations in the country.
Instead of building Universities and colleges, we build Koranic schools and what have you. Even the universities that we have are populated and filled with,  surprise, children of people with Igbo ancestry. While the majority of our kids are out begging, the Igbos are out getting education and what have you.
We should praise our women no matter where they come from in Nigeria if they are doing well, and it just happens that they are Igbo, fine and well. The question we should be asking is, what are the others going to do to dethrone the Igbos if we can, or catch up with them? But it must also be remembered that Igbo women have been at the forefront from the get go. It was Igbo women who started the independence drive in Aba by engaging the mighty British army in what they derisively call, Aba women’s riot. So their  over-achieving is nothing new.
But the Igbos should not be beating their chest, because this is a global phenomenon. Even  in the America, women are out-performing men in many fields. If the playing fields are leveled in America, women will take over. Despite all their chest beating, women in America still remain second class citizens and only gained the rights to vote not too long ago.
So, find a woman who has done well and encourage your daughters to strive to be like them, I think that is the best gift you can give them and if they happen to be igbo, so be it.

Very good!

The difference between those who acknowledge Fani-Kayode's candid assessment and those who must rely on tribal gibberish to massage their bruised tribal ego, is that while the former embellish their comments with facts, the latter just rely on baseless assertions designed to ridicule the achievements of Igbo women.

We must celebrate the achievements of all Nigerian women, regardless of ethnic identity. However, the fact that f00ls like Aigbofa and fstranger3 want to turn this thread to another ethnic bashing thread reveals the underlying prejudices, born of hate, that have consumed their psyche. These f00ls see nothing good outside their parochial outlook, one based on strict tribal loyalty, and always try, though pitiably woefully, to bring down those they consider "outsiders", e.g., Igbo women. I'm glad that ignorant buffoons like the f00ls mentioned above are gradually being sidelined at the national political space of Nigeria.
