gracious17: Gurus, any useful info abt University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will be highly appreciated and also its stake at the embassy. Thanks!
The school is Publicly Owned by the US Governement and therefore it is a GOOD university and ACCEPTABLE @ the US embassy.

You'v Got No Worries!!! You are safe..

gr8ever: @ House,

Where is Shynepapin and Walecrysler with their interview transcript??
A good Reminder!

And I'm always in touch with Walecrysler, but his iphone crashed, so he has been unable to come online.

But will contact him now, so he can post his interview experience asap, so others can learn from it, Especially those in his category will be able to pick and gain something from his interview transcript.

JFK12: Hi gurus in da house,I jt got admitted for my masters degree in speech communication at university of central missouri.I should be receiving my I-20 come nxt week.I want d gurus in d house to let me know d steps to be taken b4 nd after my I-20 arrive to get myself prepared for interview at d embassy.

Also any useful information abt d aforementioned school and if is not a red flag in d embassy.And hope having another country refusal on one pp is not a disadvantage ? Thanks in anticipation.
Congrats on your Admission into University of Central Missouri. Your University is Publicly Owned and is a GOOD school and ACCEPTABLE @ the US Embassy.

Also, for the meantime before your i-20 arrives, you can contact your school and ask em to send you a scanned copy of your i-20. OR if they can't send you the scanned copy of your i-20, let em send you your School code and Sevis Number to your email.

NB: You will need your Sevis number and School code to Book your Visa appointment. That is why it is very Necessary to have em.

If you can get the above mentioned done; then follow the below steps to book your appointment;

Method:

Go to any GTB Bank branch, tell them you want to pay for F1 Student VISA. You will pay #26,400.

The Banker will ask you what Category. You will tell him/her - Student Academics..

2nd Step: You will need to first fill your DS 160 form and get your application ID, because you will need that Confirmation number/application ID in other to be able to book an appointment..

Visit this site to fill your DS 160 form -

https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

3rd Step: Go to the appointment booking site below;

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-appointmentschedule.asp

Fill in your details and the Reference number that will be given to you by GTB Bank. When you fill all these details, appointment date window will be displayed, choose the day you want and click on book appointment.

Also, Regarding your last Question, Having a Visa Denial in another country on your PP won't count as anythin and it is NOT a disadvantage.

Different countries and their different policies, Just because you can't qualify for a Canadian, Swedish, UK, Germany, Australian, Switzerland visa doesn't mean you can't qualify for a US Visa and Vice Versa.

NB: Make sure you DON'T forget about your sevis fee. Try to pay your sevis fee atleast 2 weeks before the date of your interview, to allow em enough time to process your Online receipt which you will take to the US Embassy.

I hope this helps...

Hello guyz,

News reaching me now from the US Embassy lagos Location, Just confirmed to me now that our very own Brother here on NL, Walecrysler, just got his US student visa APPROVED today.

And to give you a tip of the iceberg, he is 26 yrs old going for undergraduate studies @ Southwest Minnesota State University and got the Visa @ the first trial.

A big Record breaking here on NL with that age. grin God really showered a Big favour upon you bro. He is really Wonderful.

Getting US student Visa for undergraduate studies this days with that kind of age and @ your first trial for that matter, is almost like a night mare in the US Embassy lately.

In other words, this goes out to Prospective students who fall under his category, Nothing is Impossible. Keep pushing and believe you shall get it. Age will never be a limit or an obstacule to your success.

Congrats Wale crysler, Welcome on board. Enjoy
your stay in Obamaland..

Na flexing things for me and u dis Xmas @ Minnesota oooooo.. gringringrin

conyema12: Wow master i settled for u of houston. Although west Virginia and Oklahoma are yet to get back to me.
And this one has always been my first choice.
What do you think ?

I-20 will be sent through USPS express mail with tracking number.
If the oklahoma you are talking about is - Oklahoma Panhandle State University, then I would BOLDLY say you should pls just forget it and erase your mind from em and focus on other schools. That school nearly gave me high blood pressure.

They take forever before they reply common emails. I sent numerous emails like about 12, or more emails on different occasions to em since 4 month ago and can you believe up till now they are yet to reply me. I wasted my time and effort to apply to that school, after spending much on scholarship application documents I gathered.

They later sent me an acceptance email, 3 months after I applied for admission, even like a week before I went for my interview with another school's i-20. Can u imagine..
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by RickyRozay: 2:26am On Nov 12, 2013
conyema12: Thanks Ricky.

This is the mail they sent;

The I-20 will be mailed express mail www.usps.com the tracking number ER 76XXXXXXX US
They have mailed it already bro. Since they provided the tracking No to you.

Your i-20 package is already on the way.. You can also go to that website they provided to track the package and know it's current destination till it finally reaches you down here.

conyema12: Hi guy I just got a mail from my school that my I-20 is ready be mailed.
Am I the one to pay for an express mail or the school. I will not like to risk using the Nipost system.
Pls guys how do I go about it.
Please contact your school and ask em what method do they intend using to send you your i-20 package down here.

They will let you know the method they will use in sending your i-20 package to you and they will also inform you if they will take care of the payment OR maybe you might be responsible for the payment through express delivery option.

So you need to get back to em and get all this necessary details.

But whichever way make sure you choose to use the Express mail delivery option which is the courier service.

Pls Do that, and get back to us on how it goes with your school and we will know how to advice you further till your i-20 package gets down to you here successfully.
Pls frnds my interview is on 31st dec and my school said u shld b in school on or defore d 6th of jan 2014 for spring session,,my problem is this,,wil d embassy ask me why am coming late since I was given admsision since august wil it create problem for me in d embassy? Anoda question is if dey give me visa and I travel around 20th of jan cos of preparations wil it create problem for me entering d Us as classes are begining on d 13th pls help!
You won't have problem with the admission letter of August @ the embassy bro. But you will definately have issues @ the embassy due to the resumption date on your i-20 given as 6th of january 2014 anf your interview date given as 31st of december 2013.

The date is too near bro. You need to give the embassy ample of time to process your visa. I remember someone here who went to the embassy just 1 week before his school resumption date, he got DENIED @ the embassy.

But you can work on getting a New appointment date at the embassy bro. I think you can still see dates available for first week of december bro. Dates of first week of december will still be available. Reschedule your Appointment date and choose a more closer one that will be convenient to you.

But if you don't see a date for first week of December, then you can switch to next option below;

Get an EXTENSION LETTER from your school, stating the fact that you will be allowed to resume late. Your school will even indicate the new date you will be expected to arrive at campus.

You won't only need this extension letter @ the embassy, you will also need it at the POE. Upon your arrival in the US. The immigration officers will definately ask for your i-20 and you need to show them your i-20 and the extension letter you got from your school, indicating that you are allowed to resume late at a given period your school will state on the letter.

You WON'T be allowed to Enter the US without getting an extension letter from your school.

So work on the extension letter with your school. But if your school refuse to send you an extension letter, the only option you will have left is to defer your admission to Fall 2014. Just to avoid been denied at the embassy or been deported back to Nigeria at the port of Entry in the US.

ayobrain1: Hello house, this is Ayo. I would to know, if I can use the printed version of my I-20 sent to me from the school for my F-1 visa interview?
Many thanks.
Printed version?

I hope it is NOT a scanned copy of the i-20 sent to your email which you intend printing out. If so, then i'm afraid you CANNOT use that kind of printed version of your i-20 for your visa interview.

You need the ORIGINAL COPY, which will be sent to you by either Air Mail/Regular Mail OR through a courier service like FedEx, EMS, TNT, DHL e.t.c

But, if you meant your i-20 was sent to you by your school through Regular mail, or Courier, YES, you can use it for your F-1 visa interview..

That is the ORIGINAL COPY. Which boldly shows the biro ink of your school official's signature.

Even if your Bank statement was dated in July 2013, you can still use it for your visa interview in November 2013.

If he/she Surname on the Bank statement doesn't bear the same surname wth yours, you can claim the person as your Maternal Uncle OR Maternal Aunty..

nomso27: thought they weren't straight to the point on the sponsor thing, didn't see anything like family or uncle as source of funds.
What is stated on your i-20 as source of funds?
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by RickyRozay: 9:29am On Nov 03, 2013
Nalikedis: Thank you so much... Actually family funds was entered as my source of funding my uncle's name or relationship was not entered anywhere on the I-20
Since it is Family Funds that was written on your i-20. Then you can choose any of the below mentioned family related; personal bank statement to go along wth to the embassy;

Your Uncle, Your Father, Your Mother, Your Aunty, Your Grandmother, Your Cousin, e.t.c.

But Please, have this @ the Back of your Mind, that since FAMILY FUNDS was stated on your i-20, NEVER take any of the above mentioned family related; company's bank statement. It will result to AUTOMATIC DENIAL.

So you need to collect their own personal Bank statement which is showing their full name as the name of account holder on the bank statement and NOT their company's bank statement.

ahmedbrown: Guys pls what is the maximum age to apply for an undergraduate in the United State Of America.
If you Intend going for Undergraduate Studies you must fall beween the Age range of 16 to 23.

Masters 24 and Above..

If you DON'T fall in the appropriate age range listed above for undergraduate studies; Believe me, you will need to work hard enough in convincing the VO well enough to his/her understanding why you intend going for undergrad studies @ that age when your age mates are already going for their masters, P.h.d, e.t.c..
