lisadem: Hello house,I Hail you our Yankee Boss... ![]() Don't worry, you will soon start seeing lots of Suceess Stories here on NL.. Lots of my Pallies here on NL are going for the Spring 2014 Semester.. Many of em are getting warmed up to Hit the US Embassy soonest..... |

kunlebal: 4) What steps will i take now for visa booking?Yea, that's 100% right.. It totally escaped my mind that the School code is BOLDLY written on his i-20.. #Noted... And Morever, he would be Better Off if he goes in for Masters because he has got a very good Profile! |
frankie2K: Hello House,I think imperiouxx has given you a response to your inquiry.. Regarding the Visa Booking, You will need your SEVIS NO and your School Code to Book appointment which is BOLDLY Written on your Scanned i-20 which was sent to you. Also, You have to pay #26,400 @ any GTBank Branch and tell em you want to pay For US Visa. And they will ask you what category and you tell the Banker - ACADEMICS. You will be Given a Reference No @ the Bank and that is the number you will use for Booking your Visa appointment. With Your Sevis No and your School Code, You can FULLY fill your DS 160 form and generate your Application ID. This application ID which you generated from the DS 160 form you filled online is what you will include on the Visa appointment Window to book your appointment.. |
bigfrancis21: Hello Kim K. Went back a couple of posts and saw this your post and decided to address you. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE USE OF ANY AGENTS!Well Said BOSS!....... I really hope she puts this well composed write-up into FULL consideration..... |
Walspring: It depend on schools, cos some schools can send it via courier free of charge while some schools will ask you to pay for courier service which is around 100 usd and above. That's a Long Process... Make eem US contact no go dump eem i-20 package inside Dustbin... I-20 package is a very VITAL document.. Let him Use TNT courier Plus Pick up service. They will go over to his school in the US and pick up the package and he will be able to track his package online on TNT's website. TNT is the cheapest.. They charge Just #12,260 for their Pick-up service and you get your package here within 4 working days... |
imperiouxx: Haba! no need to beg, I go ansa you nau my oga.My School Processes i-20s Just 7 days after their Deadlines..... The Deadline for my school for Spring 2014 semester is 1st of September.. And I-20s are being Processed from 8th of September.. So I think it depends on the schools as you have said.. Some are veryy fast and won't wait for One month before they start issuing out the i-20s.. |
Amefrica: There are schools that dont end application till Nov/Dec. My school and yours are good examples..No ooo. Remove my school from the list ooo. Lol. My school deadline for spring 2014 has been closed since 1st of September... Most schools will close their Deadlines for International Students going for spring semester by October/November to allow em enough time to process their Visa... @Kim K's girl will be good for FALL 2014.. So you can have ample of time to meet lots of admission and scholarship deadlines..... |
Amefrica: Ok, good! There are quite number of schools in TX.Who told you applications for the Spring 2014 semester for most schools is still Open? Or do u have anyone in mind? |
nomso27: @ricky rozayYou'v got mail.. |
Amefrica: Yea bro, it got expired few hours ago.Tried pinging you as well. But my pings weren't delivering anymore.. Na wa oooo. You no get money to sub for BIS! But you go surely get money to flex and whoop on those pretty, sexy white chicks for Minnesota.. ![]() Broke Ibadan Boy always feeling Funky! ![]() |

obotubong: my bro, somethings are complicated and i wudnt wanna bore u with them, as u advised, i have written all i filled on my DS160 on a paper and wat i am trying to do is make sure am consistent and it all adds up. i no LYING is wrong but i have no choice now. the truth is that the truth doesn't always help you in all situation. i have to tell them what they wanna hear not necessarily the truth.YES exactly, that's the Point! You need to tell the VOs what they need to hear... Even when you come clean in most cases and say the truth and the truth you told doesn't still make rythms and senses to the VO's ears, your application will still be DENIED! Painful truth!. So tell em what they need to hear and You need to Package yourself Well Well before heading to the US embassy.... See you need to be sharp on that day of the Interview.. The VOs are very smart, and they can detect if you lying, through eye contact, Body Language and Unnecessary Stammering to questions being asked. These people are trained psycologist you dealing with, but you need to demonstrate to em you are Much smarter... You be 9ja boy. No fear.. God pass em... As US student Visa applicant, you need to learn how to think very fast! That's very important! Becos these VOs can ask you a question more than ONCE when they suspect something fishy or suspect you might be telling lies and they will want to NAIL you down so they will believe you must have forgotten what you have said to em innitially. You know when you lie, you will need a thousand lies to cover up the lies you have told.. And most lies people tell might be forgotten.. But TRUTH will Never be Forgotten. So pls once Again, Be Smart and Learn how to think fast on that Day.. I know why I'm saying this, it happened to me on the day of my Interview.. The VO asked me some questions more than once in different question formats and she was PRETENDING like as if she didn't remember what she previously asked me and the reply I gave her, thinking I was going to change my stance after asking me the same question the 2nd time but I still stood by my words and said exactly the same thing as I filled on my DS 160 form.. No Shaking!!!! Consistency is another Major factor involving US Visa applications.. See what you will do, AFTER filling your DS 160 form, the day you submit the form, Pls do MAKE SURE you PRINT-OUT the whole application you filled so you can go home and practice and prepare with what you filled, so you don't Forget anything on that Day.. Have your Filled DS 160 form on your Finger tips after submitting it.. That's very important.. Regarding the Employment letter, Since you are telling the VO you were once employed, you still need to take a document to back-up this claim just incase the VO demand to see proof so you don't go there and be looking like a LEARNER.... But they hardly request for documents.. But you still need to get a Letter of Employment from the company you claim you worked for and let em type it on the company's Letter-headed paper and let them Back-date the Letter as well so you can be on a safer side.. You need to prepare for the Unexpected.. So you DON'T give the VOs any slight reason to DENY you.. For example, you were employed in the company on the 15th of March 2010. Let the Letter of Employment be dated on the 15th of March 2010.. Please Once again, Be smart on that day and MOST importantly learn how to think fast.. If you do all this things, I see you coming home with your US student Visa by fire by Force.. Success bro.. |
Amefrica: Hi house! Is it appropiate for an applicant denied to go back to the embassy a month after the denial ??Only Go back to the Embassy, if something has changed since your previous application when you got DENIED.. I know of a friend who went back to the embassy 2 weeks after she was previously denied a US student Visa. The VO just asked her Only one question. Which was, VO: What has Changed Since your previous application? My Friend "Replied" : Nothing Sir! The Next thing she heard from the VO, I'm sorry you do NOT qualify for a visa at this time bla bla bla........ So Please Plan very well and Make sure you cover all loopholes before heading to the Embassy again after been denied previously.. #TeamNeverGiveUp. |
2goplus: 1. Let me start with this people often think is the way they answer questions is the reason they were denied visa. I came to USA 2 years ago trough an agency that consulted me on my student visa, and if i may tell you bro i did worst than you in this interview my first time. and i went trough an agency to get consultation on what i did wrong and what i need to do. If i tell you bro that you answer all this correctly with one mistake you will be surprise. but that mistake i believe is not the reason. what you believe you don't know don't ask people that also dont know find an expert before its too late other wise they can easily ban you in there system from ever getting student visa thats what others dont also know. Ill advise but i will not give you the agency i use because people will think im advertising to you. all i will say is bro open your eyes and get help. the problem with us Nigerians is we believe we can do something without another persons help (something you never done before) getting help give you better chance thats just my 2cent bro. This Your post is TOTAL Bullshit.. You will only Make her case WORSE if she patronizes the so called Agents you talking about.. After all, @Ovusbaby went through an Agent for her First Application but didn't still get her Visa.. And Morerver, I DON'T Trust u.. I just ran a check on your profile now and I discovered you just opened this your NL account on the 7th of October 2013. Which is Today.. Huh!!. .. Just Busted your Bubbles wide open.. Sorry you CAN'T Scam and Fool anyone here.. We DON'T encourage the Use of Agents here for admission processing and Visa Procurement.. I was once a Novice in the US system before, and with the help of this thread, I now have my F-1 Visa.. I processed everything myself from day One till the End, From Admissions till I got my US Visa. All thanks to the support and useful informations I got from kind peeps here who are just like my brothers and Sisters.. So if I can do it Myself, Then why the Hell someone else like me can't do it on his own too.. OR those so called Agents wey you dey talk about that do Visa application for their Naïve applicants, shey dem get 4 Heads.... |
Tochium: Don't u think TOEFL is enough standardize test?To some Peeps taking ONLY TOEFL is Enough.. But MY Policy is SAT for Undergraduate Or GRE or GMAT for Students going in for Masters... Although Some students who tender just Only TOEFL as Standarlized test @ the embassy also scale through.... But You Never can tell the VO you will meet that day.. I have seen so many cases whereby some VOs SHUN AND IGNORE students who Just took the TOEFL only.. They want to also see students taking SAT for Undergraduate and GRE or GMAT for Masters students.. If you have the Money I will STRONGLY recommend you take the Two test! Both SAT and TOEFL if you going for Undergraduate Studies and GRE/GMAT and TOEFL if you going for Masters... But If you don't have Much Finance, Take ONLY SAT for Undergraduate and For Masters take ONLY GRE/GMAT. That will be much ACCEPTABLE @ the Embassy... I don't know why you guys keep avoid taking SAT, GRE, GMAT and will prefer taking Just ONLY TOEFL.. Even this TOEFL of a Test is more expensive and twice the amount for the SAT test... |
De Tus: @Kunlebal, lol. Does your phone have memory card? Why the heck on passport photos? You really have to think smart. Take a snapshot with your phone, then go to any photo studio, tell them you want 2 by 2 passport photos for the US Embassy. That's NOT a good idea bro... Let him go to a good Studio and take the appropriate Passport Photograph Size... Don't you know they look at many things in a Passport Photogrtaph.. US Passport Photograph has Requirements and if you DON'T meet that Requirement, you can get Bounced. It is NOT something you can just take inside your Cupboard.. Excellence really matters.. Do things Orderly and in a very Good Manner in other to send a good Signal and Impression to the VO.. @Kunlebal go to a Good photo studio, Like the one i gave you today @ Ikeja and take your Passport Photograpgh there.. Be careful bro so you DON'T get Bounced @ the US Embassy due to Wrong Passport photograph you submitted @ the Embassy.. 1k won't Kill you.. Choose Wisely bro... We are talking about the US Embassy which will determine the Next Level you advance in your Life and NOT a job interview at a Palm wine Joint.... |
justwise: Ricky i'm sorry you are and i don't want to patronize you, there is no tips in trying to circumvent financial requirement for visa.DON'T judge a Book by it's Cover..... Okay. Let me ask you this Perfect Question.. For Example; You are my Best Friend or a very close friend of Mine, and Your Father is Not financially capable of sponsoring your Studies abroad Neither do any of your Relative do have the Required Funds as well to assist You financially in pursing your dreams by studying abroad.. IF for example, My Dad Or Mother Or Uncle is veryy Rich and financially Capable of sponsoring your Studies in the US and his Willing to give you his Financial Statement for you to Use in supporting you all through your Application.. Does this mean this is Illegal? Please answer this question.. I'm waiting for your response....... |
dolapobello1: I dey always feel this guy. As authoritative as Albus Dumbledore. He his very alert.. Even more than our Nigeria police men...... Lol!!! |
justwise: @Ricky RozayI'm NOT encouraging such... Just wanted to help him out with some useful tips I have.... We are good bro.. Cheers.... |
Dimejidude: Can Anyone Kindly tell the Difference between SAT test and SAT Subject Test.Learnt the SAT test Is no longer available this year but Next Year!Who told you that? That's a False Alarm.. I called the SAT office yesterday where I registered for My SAT and they said the NEXT SAT test Enrolment is By December and the Deadline for Registration for the Test is 23rd of October. Depending on the Major you going for, Some US schools Require Students to take ONLY the SAT 1 test. But Some Schools will also Require Students Going for majors like Science and Engineering Majors, to take the SAT Subject test.. The SAT 1 test comprises of Just Mathematics And English.. While the SAT subject test comprises of the following; Maths English Economics Physics Chemistry Biology Geography, e.t.c and other subjects in areas relating to your academic field.... Most Students who take the SAT subject test will take subjects they did while in high school and also Subjects they took in WAEC.. So, Pls Contact your desired US School and ask em which type of the SAT test you should take.. |
kelvin50: Hi pals can I scale tru with dis type of waec cert maths b3Sure you can scale through.. You have good grades which is above average. But you still need one more thing to complete your File and get Ready to Shoot for the US Embassy.. Which is the SAT score report.. I see you going for undergraduate studies.. Hope you have taken the SAT test.. Becos your good grades will be a waste @ the embassy without Standarlized test scores.. The VO will definaletly ask for your SAT since you going for undergraduate studies.. Cheers bro. |
slimmy05: Nice one @amefrica, re-apply and let your dad or mum be your sponsor. Work well on your home ties. I think the account might not have enough transactions or better in-flow of money. The Bank statement he took along to the embassy today was his Dad's Bank statement which was his Sponsor............ And Moreso, Like You said, The Account didn't contain enough Transactions.. It wasn't detailed... And according to what he told me, the Transactions started from the Bottom to the Top... The bank statement contained to many errors.... |
Tochium: @Amefrica, Don't give up, still try again. It would have been better if u had ur father as ur sponsor. Again, u have to show strong tie to Nigeria which will convince the VO that u would return after ur studies. His father was his sponsor. Read the post very well. And Morever, it wasn't even about Strong home ties in his case becos he was already having a Good rapport with the VO.. According to his DENIAL story posted above, I can really strongly say that Amefrica did brilliantly well in his Visa Interview, Infact, the VO was Ready to grant him his Visa @ that point before the Bank Statement issue came up... Simple and Short, he was denied because of his Bank statement... So @ Amefrica, Make sure you tidy up the Bank statement bro, and get atleast a 6 months old bank statement, not the one wey u carry go today wey be just One page... It Raised an eyebrow to the VO, because the money on the Bank statement was too much to be developed within few months wihich was lesser than 6 months. That's why it is always Advisable to carry a 6 months old Bank Statement, because a 6 months old Bank statement will look very DETAILED and Comprehensive Containing the Flow of cash. @ Amefrica, Please Let the NEW Bank statement you intend taking along next time have Multiple Pages, like atleast 3 pages and above and MUST be ATLEAST 6 months old Bank statement showing the flow of cash and Transactions.. It's is well bro.... |
Abeg, Who in the house or who knows someone studying at Minnesota State University, Mankato.. Abeg show your face.... Na beg I dey oooo. I really need contact for that side.. Cheers.... |

Tochium: He also needs his school codeOh Yea.. Thats True.. 4got to Include that.. #Noted.. Thanks for Notifying me.... |
simplejayy: thx. U mean i should b calm while waiting? Am lyk is there anytin im to do b4 it arrives or until d arrival b4 i can book appointment and pay related fees. ThxSure, there are some things you need to do before your i-20 arrives, If ONLY you have your Sevis Number and School code with you. You will need your Sevis Number and School Code to Fill your DS 160 form and to enable you book appointment. You will also need the sevis number and your school code to pay for your Sevis fee. If you DON'T have a copy with you, Email your School and ask them to send you a scanned copy of your i-20, so you can use it to book appointment. OR if they refuse to send you a scanned copy of your i-20, you can also tell em to email your Sevis Number and the school code to you. Things you Need to Do before your i-20 arrives; 1. Pay your Visa fee @ GTBank for #26,400 2. Fill your DS 160 form as accurately as possible and Fill in your Sevis Number and School Code correctly where Required. 3. Go to the appointment window and Book appointment with the Application ID generated from the DS 160 form. 4. Pay your Sevis fee of $200. The Above mentioned are the things you need to do while waiting for your i-20, by doing this things, you have automatically speed up the whole process. Cheers. |
simplejayy: nipostI keep telling you guys times without Number to always use a Courier service like FedEx, DHL, UPS Or TNT to receive a vital document such as your i-20 package from the US.. Nipost is NOT Reliable for receiving packages from the US. Many packages get Lost on transit by this means. Just hope and pray your case is different. But Since you have used Nipost already, you have to wait for a Minimum of ATLEAST 5 weeks before it gets here.. And also let me give you this clue, Make sure you keep checking the nearest NIPOST Close to your home and let em Know you are Expecting a Package from the US. If possible, Collect the Contact no of one of the Post Office Officials and keep calling them on Phone to make enquiry on your pacakage, to know if it has Arrived. Don't just stay @ home and cross your two legs and wait for your package. You need to make a move as well, So your package shouldn't be Abandoned @ the Post Office. They might likely NOT deliver your package to your home address early. And make sure you also tip the Post Office Official for this service so that the help can be rendered to you as efficient as posssible. |
simplejayy: gud day to my ogas in da house. Plz i am yet to receive my 1-20 frm d school i apply. I need ur kind opinion on wat to do nxt. ThxWhat method did your school use in shipping the i-20 package to you? Is it By Regular mail E.g NIPOST. OR Through a Courier service like; FedEx, DHL, TNT, EMS, UPS e.t.c. Which one of the above mentioned did u use? |
