You should try and convince her. It's your life, not hers. You should do what you're passionate about not what they want you to be passionate about. At the end, if it gets fruitful, you get to eat more and them too. But if you allow them force you to do what you don't like, you may end up not getting fruits to eat and will end up not being happy with her for making you do what you don't like. Grow some courage to follow your path.

Marriage, in the true sense of union, should never be a slavery business whereby one works his/her ass for the benefit of the other partner. However in a marriage setting, I do believe both parties in the union must bring something tangible to the table to make things balance. Also it's important that in a situation whereby things are not generally as balance as we'd want them to be, that love fills such void for it to be absolutely balance subjectively.

In my opinion, I believe, the man, aside being a natural provider of the family is also a natural protector of it. There are situation whereby the woman can take the former position, but can never take the latter position. The more reason why the man is very important leading wherever the boat of the marriage is going.

I believe a marriage whereby the man provides over 80% needs of the family, it is only logical that the woman provides something else in proper amount to complement the man's effort. For example, if the man pays the normal bills, house rent, foods, children fees etc, then it is pertinent on the woman to do something in proportion of what the man is doing. Of course you don't expect me to be carrying all these financial burdens and when the time to rest comes, I should start going about with kitchen duties or other house chores. Objectively it's not balance. And if the wife takes the position of doing all these house chores and taking care of the kids, that's not slavery but rather helping the husband.

But then a situation whereby the wife pays bills as much as the man, maybe splitting it or something, then of course, the whole burden of house duties cannot be rested on the woman, but an important point to note is that, she still has to do more of home duties than the husband, because already the husband is taking care of the family's protection, something the woman can never do.

Meanwhile, we don't expect all these to be balance, one way or the other it'll always be lopsided. What makes marriage fruitful and lasting is LOVE and RESPECT. If the love and respect are there, nothing will look like a burden on either part of the parties. However if one of these two things is missing, forget it, even if the wife turns a slave to the husband or the husband turns to satisfy his wife, the marriage would, Sooner rather than later, crash or be painful for both parties.

It's crazy that every time I stumble on your post - which is once in a while - I recollect your antics pre- and during the 2015 general elections. I know you've apologized for it several times and I'm not holding you to it. But one just imagines what could have been if there had been less supporters for him and if by 2019 folks like Fashola or Obi or Duke had been elected.

It's not you but my ability to recollect the minutest details of incidences many years after.

It only shows I carry about the human attributes of imperfection. Shows I vividly can't tell what tomorrow holds and no amount of guesswork or certainty can change that. You carry about this attribute too.

But then my criticisms of this government shows how objective i am to the issue of this country. Admitting my error and calling out the useless government for the slowpoke that they are is tantamount to saying the truth when need be.

It is only natural for women to look into the future prospect of the man they about to marry. On the other hand, men don't need to look at the future prospect that much, what a reasonable man (not Simp) look for in a wife material, is her past. Her past is q crucial factor in what she's capable and likely to be in future.

Marriage is a long term investment and men and women must look at what brings them succor in the long run. If it's imperative for women to look into your future prospect before settling with you, then it's important for you to look into her past to see her worthiness.
