I've taken time to learn about life in general. Improved my written and communication skills. Learning fashion design too (even though I've not really being serious). Hahaha. But all in all, I'm utilizing it and never idle.

Empiree: That's hypocrisy of the politicians. That has nothing to do with writer's view. They are different cases unfortunately. We can see their glaring HYPOCRISY but again, it is different from writer's view. Writer's argument is based on public moral law. We can only plea for leniency now and not argue about the judgement. It will make things worse.
We can as well say it is hypocritical of many Nigerian people who criticize this judgement because the same people are quick to strip thieves naked and set them on fire in the same Nigeria without judicial process. So it goes both ways actually. The writer could have factored in the society for which he was writing too, that way, he captures everything and there won't be loopholes of bias. If he had written that with respect to a generally Islamic Society like Saudi, then no one have the right to bat an eye. But then, I raised a pertinent objection in my initial post to the writers opinion on why the prophet didn't bother about those that insulted him, I didn't see you reply to that. My conclusion in that post too, you didn't reply. Without a consensus on the logic that warranted the need to kill blasphemers, I don't think a supposed public moral law can be established. |
Crime › Re: Yahaya Aminu Sharif Sentenced To Death For Blasphemy Against Prophet Muhammad by Rilwayne001: 12:29pm On Aug 11, 2020 |
Empiree: ... Government or not, sentencing people for blasphemy is sick. And the writer ignoring the fact that the prophet even did nothing to those that insulted him during his time shows he's not been honest in his analysis. For Pete's sake, who was the head of Muslims during the prophet's time? Was it not the prophet himself? So which authority was he expected to report to then? Also it is important to take note that, this alleged blasphemy law is expected to take more foothold in a generally Islamic dominated society, and not what's regarded as a secular society. The hypocrisy of the North on this particular issue is obvious to everyone. Their politicians have been caught on numerous occasions stealing public funds. One was even caught receiving bribe on tape. Boko Haram/Fulani has continued to kill innocent civilians, when caught they are not tried in a sharia court, same with the politicians. They are tried in a non Islamic court. What is the Islamic punishment for stealing? Has it been melted out on any on these politicians? What is the Islamic punishment for taking people's life unjustly? Has it been meted out of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen? Why is a blasphemer being tried in a Shariah court while others are tried in a secular court? Why is blasphemer facing Islamic punishment for blasphemy while thieves are killers aren't facing Islamic punishment? Between a blasphemer and a thief/killers who's impact affect the society the most? These are pertinent questions we need to ask ourselves. And jungle justice on thieves is not as rampant as it appears. Even so, thieves cause more damages for the already damaged society, the major reason why people take laws into their hands. But when a mad man insult God or his prophet, pray tell, what damage does his madness cause the society? Do we fight for a supreme Being as if he's not capable to do so for himself? |

festacman: I am against killing somebody for saying something silly about Allah or Mohammed. More so, being a Nigerian citizen, the superiority of the constitution to sharia law should give him reprieve.
However, my question is why should somebody blatantly and foolishly make a blasphemous statement when he knows the consequences in an Islamic society. I think the condemned fellow is an emotionally unintelligent person.
The truth is that WISDOM is key in life. A wise man understands his environment. Even Jesus Christ was very carefully in choosing his battles with the Pharisees because he knew that any mistake would truncate his mission on earth before the appointed time.
By the way, Bashir Ahmed like most Muslims knows that it is too dangerous to condem the death penalty openly. It is about personal safety.
Well wouldn't it have made sense if he had keep shut instead of openly supporting murder (this is a secular nation not an Islamic nation)? He's a special aid to the president and hence any statement made by him is attributable to the presidency. How then can the president of a secular nation openly supports death to blasphemer? It's really sickening. |

We don't need officially listed source to show that in Africa, Nigerians lead when it comes to internet fraud. You and I know this unless you just want to deny it. FBI recently fingered Nigerian ring for this same unemployment benefit, you can check here https://www.google.com/amp/s/guardian.ng/news/nigerian-group-named-in-covid-19-related-unemployment-benefits-fraud-in-us/amp aside that, most Nigerians have been arrested in overseas country for internet fraud, and you just can't deny the fact that other Africans don't come close to Nigeria when it comes to it. You hardly hear about other African National getting involved in it, except maybe very small portion of Ghanaians. Plus you just can't shy away that Nigerians are festering in it more and more everyday. Even locals that didn't even attend secondary school are now engaging in internet fraud in our society. 10years ago, even 5yeears ago, it wasn't so rampant like this. But today, out of 10 youths especially in our South here, one can guarantee that at least 8 engages in internet fraud. It's just what it is. achorladey: Sometimes the words of Maximus69 is filled with . Na the lens of the organization follow add to the palaver.
When someone begins to fill the military intelligence in the army counts a lot scripturally this is what you get to see. An experience with a retired military officer says those that really understand what it means to be a military man don't go about oppressing or boasting about being one.
I wonder what the boast in being a Military intelligence officer have to do with the discussion on nairaland sometimes.
Back to the issue at hand..........
Matthew 6: Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds(gifts to the poor) before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed(gifts to the poor) , do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.
It is clear that as Jesus said we will as Christians do charitable deeds or gifts to the poor and it is not restricted to fellow Christians alone.
Matthew 5: 43 You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?
48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
So the below from Maximus69 is what was cooked from his mind and brain
Flash! True Christians don't give beggars money, Jesus never taught us to do so, that's why you can't find a single worshiper of God who is a beggar neither can you find a place where a Christian give a beggar a dime!
What one would have expected Maximus69 to have done during the issue FOLYKAZE had since he sees himself as being on a higher moral ground than FOLYKAZE was to heed this in
Matthew 5: 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.
But what did Maximus69 do was something else and defending the act by saying another person had done the same. It was just
Charitable deeds is not restricted to MONEY it embraces a lot. Peter did gifts of mercy at Acts 3:2-6. Jesus did gifts of mercy to a blind beggar and during the time of the Israelites that were told not to completely glean their fields to be left as gifts of mercy for the poor. Jesus did deed gifts of mercy to a SYROPHOENICIAN WOMAN who begged as well. God bless you. I didn't know Jehovah witness were this horrible till today. No wonder everyone disdain them. I didn't know they disdain themselves so much that they disdain humanity too. What kind of a foolish teaching is that? Damn!! |

efficiencie: The main verse to buttress this doctrine is Psalm 37:25. Now let's look at the verse. It says "...yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken" and one must realize that though the righteous is never forsake it does not mean the righteous does not go through challenges which may result in the fall of the righteous (Proverbs 26:27). The fall of the righteous could result in him begging, doing menial jobs or scrapping at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder but the righteous man will rise again and it is this juncture of the life of the righteous that we can we have never seen the righteous forsaken. However when we see the righteous in the ugly, dark and gloomy hours of his life we will all be tempted to say he has been forsaken but when like David we observe a man at the latter part of his life we see that he is ultimately not forsaken. Jesus Himself the main example here.
With regards to the portion of the verse that says: "..., nor his seed begging bread", we must realize that this is case of the seed of the righteous enjoying the supernatural inheritance of righteous parents...but we must understand that when the righteous falls, his fall will affect his children as well and as I have mentioned before in this phase of life it would seem that the children are now beggars but in the fullness of time the fortunes of the righteous turn and the same transcends to his seed.
If children of GOD must not give to beggars, then we need to ask why the HolyGhost inspired Solomon to write the following verses: Proverbs 14:31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor. Proverbs 21:13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
These verses are clear that there is no crime in being poor...The LORD GOD is their maker and whoever gives to their hospitality gives to the LORD GOD Himself and this is evident in the words of Jesus Himself in Matthew 25: 31-46 Cc: Maximus69 |

BrownCookie: My opinion is that you should stop picking the verses that suit & support your stingy nature. Exactly. I believe the world would be a better place if we love people for being human, and not for whatever religious affiliations they answer to. But our secret cultists in the name of JW disagrees, just as maximus69 has vehemently defended the act of not helping people who don't belong to his secret cult. If truly this was the love Jesus preached, and what God really wants, then I can't help it, because this is exactly the kind of figure that Satan is. Hence we can say the secret cult of Maximus69 is just another cult of satanist that enjoy watching the world suffer in so far they enjoy life. Smh |
