Why should they care when they are going to most likely be the last generation of Nigerian Theie interest now is to deplete the Treasury and make their family comfortable abroad at the expense of those less privileged left behind. Never thought or wanted to leave nija , am an advocate for nija despite all the Chaos and madness and frustration . Opportunities abound in nija , I know that first hand as someone doing business and involved in manufacturing for the last 24 years . Will have close to 500 people on our books . We all want nija to be better and for most of the people to come out of poverty like it happened in china and is happening gradually in india and most of Asia , but are we doing the right thing and doing it fast ? NO . We have a long way to go . All my crew are here by the way , i enjoy best of both worlds by Gods grace , when I need a holiday I go for vacation ,and there is pretty much no where I have not been and regularly . We die here . Let everybody do what pays them and stay where they Have the most fulfillment in the final analysis

They are cheap bikes compared to those of others. The idea is not about not having stuff. The idea is to not to show opulence or be the King Kong of the area.

True , while we keep saying there are no opportunities in Nigeria and people are leaving and relocating . It used to be only Indians and Lebanese coming over the last 50 to 60 years , now the Chinese have joined in the last decade or two. Nigeria is eldorado to them, Imagine the irony

My concern is a paint job that still looks good 5 or 10 years later, though the time varies between exterior and interior walls due to the pressure of the elements, but anything less than 5 years is not reasonable to me.

I have used cheaper paints. They look worn out after a year or less than a year requiring a repaint too soon.

Maybe the paint was just over marketed to me and after using was like so this is it , maybe the premium is in how long it will last , Berger and plascon were the others I considered then

My research on paints indicates that Dulux, Caplux and Sandtex paints are made by the same company targeting different segments of the market/purchasing power.

Correct , used Dulux for my first commercial projects . Wont say i was wowed , maybe after 5 years and I don’t repaint will change my mind . Thinking of trying other paints for current builds

Dulux, caplux are same company (dulux is the trade type while caplux is Nigeria made lesser in quality to Dulux’

Sandtex is another company entirely

They purchased sandtex

Most of the recent shops being opened are branded Dulux and sandtex , the very first one like that in ibadan is on akala express

The so-called pros price their market way out of reach that you wonder if there is no standard pricing algorithm for their works. I have seen Topsy's handiwork and use it as a standard because of his attention to details and neatness of his work. But can you say that about many others? It is sad paying someone to come and do shoddy jobs at a site. Sometimes if you DIY the project, the outcome may be better than what's obtainable from the so-called pros.

Nigeria is where you pay someone to do a job, then you will make out your own time to supervise them to ensure that they do it right.

Good pros that know what to do , don’t come cheap , not saying they should be expensive also . The most painful thing will be paying top money and getting a crappy work done . We all love deals and saving money but there is a limit and balance

I personally try to get pros to do all my work after all due diligence, because of the nature of my builds . I go for pros that are reasonable and are on there way up, that have requisite experience not old and established . Most of the guys I use ,including Topsy falls into that category . Been lucky with the guys/pros I use so far . They have given advice way beyond the scope they are handling that has saved me money in other areas .
