annoymous: Though I understand your frustration, I think your post was rather unfair. This same system you criticise has produced the finest doctors in Nigeria today. Being a medical student really sucks - you take s#it from d consultants, residents and even patients. I'm sure dey hated doing those procedures on you and would have given anything in the world not to do it. They obviously couldn't have benefited from tests carried out on you. LUTH is a very big hospital and they receive the worst patients from all over the country so the fact that nine (9) pts died in your ward alone doesn't really count for much if you consider the 'seriousness' of the ailments most of them must have come with. On pinging, that is wrong - there's such a thing as bedside manners - they will have to respond to that themselves. I find that a lot of patients transfer aaggression to medical students because dey are of no 'immediate benefit' usually but when they become interns, then a lot of diz same patients respect them even more than the senior docs because they are more available and usually more patient - pun intended.

@op, I see nothing wrong with it, infact, I had a good relationship with one, but had to call it off, cos she was more in love with her job than with me. However, at my age, the age difference matters, anything beyond 5 is a no-no!
