I don't want people to fear me, am I some sort of monster or a terrifying being? I prefer to be loved. Love will definitely earn me some respect. Can I claim to love someone without respecting the person? Love and respect work hand in hand with each other. I will never intentionally offend someone, I claim I love. So I prefer to be loved not feared. |
nans24:1 John 1:8-9 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Don't get discouraged by the mockery of people and don't allow the devil accuse you. If the devil tells you that you are a sinner, tell him that you are a prodigal child and you can go back to your father to ask for forgiveness, tell him that only God your father can punish you or correct you but He (the devil) has no right to accuse you or judge you because he is just a slave that has sinned and has been condemned forever. Mock the devil, let him see you and run. Jesus loved you first, He died for you 2,000 years before you even existed so don't be encouraged, salvation is a gift not a wage for a workdone. If you ask God for forgiveness and you are willing to mend your ways, He will definitely accept you. Romans 5:5-6 5. “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.” It is good that you acknowledge that you are not perfect. I understand that you are still struggling with sin, you want to be sinless and you are trying your best but the flesh is just too sinful. To overcome the flesh, you need the Spirit of Truth, which is the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit of Truth comes into you, He will teach you all things, He will also strengthen you and help you to overcome your weakness. Roman 8:7-8 7. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Galatians 5:14-17 14. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 16. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Focus more on Love, not on the laws because if you follow the law and refuse to love your neighbours, you are still sinning to God but if you decide to glorify God and also love your neighbours, you have completely followed the laws because by loving your neighbours, you are showing love to God. Matthew 22:37-40, 37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38. This is the first and great commandment. 39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 25: 35-46 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Having the knowledge of these things have helped me a lot when I'm in situations where I have to pick between Love and law, the mid-wives picked Love over law, they spared the lives of the Hebrew baby boys including Moses, they had to lie to the king to save the babies and God even blessed them but a foolish Christian might have refused to accept the responsibility, the king would have handed the responsibility over to someone else and the babies would have been killed. |
1Sharon:Whether you have a religion or not, you still have your beliefs and it is different from mine. I am not permitted to debate my belief with non-christians. In China, about 18.2% are Buddhists, 5.1% are Christians, 1.8% are Muslims and 0.7% adhere to other religious organisations. Christians are increasing in number every year in China and at least, there are few converts yearly in India also. The fact is that people are converting from no religion or other religions to Christianity. Some others religions for example Islam are also recording a large number of converts. Now that the colonization era is gone, why are both the formerly colonized and never colonized countries, still having a large number of their population converting to Christianity every year? Ethiopia was not colonized, yet the religion with highest percentage of followers in Ethiopia is Christianity. Japan was never colonized yet Japan citizens are still converting to Christians every year. I have provided the facts for you, you can choose to accept it or reject it. I am done with this discussion. |
1Sharon:You said if Indians colonized Nigeria, you'd be shouting about Krishna right now, so just pipe down. I only tried to explain to you that your assumption about Christianity was wrong because Christians in some countries like China and India even suffered because of their belief, they were persecuted and punished but yet they stood their ground. Some Christians are even still persecuted, you can do your own findings about this. You have left the initial discussion, it was not about which religion is true or not true. |
1Sharon:My dad's parents were muslims but yet he chose to become a Christian, my mother's parents were not really interested in any religion but yet she is a devoted Christian. I am not interested in arguing about religion because as a Christian I am not permitted to partake in baseless arguments. We are not of the same religion, we can never come to an argument, as long as our religion is different. Jesus wants us to love our neighbours and live in peace with everyone. To me my religion is the true religion, to you your religion is the true religion. My conclusion is that we are both right in our ways. Thank you. |
1Sharon:John 6:37, All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. I was giving to Jesus by the Father (God). The colonisation was just the means by which Christianity came to Nigeria, whether Nigeria was colonised or not, I would have still heard about Jesus and decided to follow Him, my dad was not a Christian from birth but he converted. There are countries that were never colonised but yet a large percentage of their population are followers of Jesus, does that not ring a bell? |
1Sharon:We Christians are not surprised because the Bible has told us about these things already. Matthew 20:16, So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. Matthew 24:12-14 12. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Let's take a look at the five most populated countries in world. 1. China 2. USA 3. India 4. Indonesia 5. Pakistan China - China did not receive Christianity through colonisation, yet today, it is estimated that Christianity is the fastest growing religion in China The first documentation of Christianity entering China was written on an 8th-century stone tablet known as the Nestorian Stele. It records that Christians reached the Tang dynasty capital Xi'an in 635 and were allowed to establish places of worship and to propagate their faith. A lot of China Christians suffered because of their religion but yet they stood their ground. India - Though India was colonised by British rulers, Hinduism still has the highest population of followers in India, followed by Islam. USA - Though Christianity was introduced to USA by the European colonies, the right of religion was established a long time in USA. Indonesia- Indonesia contains the largest Muslim population of all countries in the world. Pakistan- Pakistan is a Muslim country. |
1Sharon:Great Britain did not colonise up to 20% of the entire countries in the world, yet Christianity is the religion with the highest population of followers in the world. |
Kobojunkie:God can use anybody to pass His message to people. |
Jman24:Psalm 118 is a prayer for us not to die until it is our appointed time, Jesus Christ fulfilled His mission on earth and He declared the works of God. Jesus died at His appointed time, everybody's appointed time is different. Read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 for more understanding 1. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; |
What is wrong with drinking garri? If you love garri, you don't need to hide it from your gf. Drinking garri is not a sign of poverty, even rich people drink garri once in a while. |
Jman24:Of course, He died physically because He paid the debt for us. Physical death is a debt we all have to pay, Modified every human being must die physically but as Christians we believe we shall live again even after the physical death because Jesus died physically to pay the prize for our sins, so that we can be excluded from the spiritual death. He also resurrected physically and ascended up to Heaven physically, so we believe in the miraculous power of His resurrection. |
Jman24:Yes, you are right but my Jesus has risen like He said. My Jesus has risen, my Jesus has risen, my Jesus has risen. My Jesus liveth, my Jesus liveth, my Jesus liveth. Luke 24:6-7 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. Read Isaiah 53:5-12 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. John 11:25, Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: |
This subject should not even be debated because we don't worship the same God and our religion is totally different, so such arguments is baseless. The Bible says Jesus is God while the quran says Isa Masih is a prophet, that mean Isa Masih is not Jesus Christ of Nazareth because the Isa Masih in the quran does not match the description of Our Lord Jesus Christ. If I accept the words in the quran and start to see Jesus Christ as a prophet, it means I am no longer a Christian because Christians only follow the Bible not the quran. I don't even read the quran at all because I am not a Muslim. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Personal Saviour, I adore Him and worship Him. My own Jesus Christ is not a slave of Allah, my Jesus Christ is God Himself, I believe He is the creator of Heaven and earth and He is the God of all, He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Elijah, Daniel and so many others. For us to be able to live in peace among ourselves, it is better for us not to debate one another’s religion. Religions don't only have different names, they also have different beliefs. |
haekymbahd:John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Read Matthew 28:19 to understand. We Christians believe in the Holy Trinity, the Father, and the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Ghost. Jesus is the second person of the Holy Trinity. John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Jesus is the Word, Jesus is God and David is the son of Jesus, so he can never be equal with Jesus. Jesus was the one speaking in Psalm 2:7, Jesus was the one that made David is begotten son. Even David referred to Jesus as Lord. Matthew 22: 41-46 41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? 46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. |
Lovely couple. Congratulations. |
Any power that wants to bring division to our midst shall be consumed by fire In the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen. Christians take heed, there are many deceivers in the world pretending to be Christians but when you test their knowledge, you will realise that they have no understanding of the Bible, their only mission is to deceive. If anyone says to you, I believe in Jesus but I don't have to follow the teaching of His Apostles, be it Paul or Peter because they are not Jesus, so they are not important, he is a deceiver because he has called Our Lord Jesus Christ a liar. The Apostles are representatives of Jesus on earth. Matthew 16:18, I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Ephesians 4:11, So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, Ephesians 2:19-20 19. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Acts 2:42, "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” If anybody also says to you, I'm a Christian but I believe all Pastors that build Churches are false prophets because Jesus Christ is not interested in Churches, then he is definitely a deceiver. Church is the body of Christ, Church building is where Christians gather to serve and worship God. Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them". Let's use common sense here, If Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to forsake our gathering together, how we this be possible if we don't have specific meeting points. Act 2:46-47 46. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. God is delighted in the increase of His Church and Churches are permitted to use strategies to win souls to Christ. 1 Corinthians 9:19-22 19. For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21. To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. |
Women need to understand that it is not only their female children that needs training on relationship, male children also have to be taught how to treat ladies. Any son that comes out of my womb is not permitted to misbehave with or insult a lady, if he does that he has insulted the womb that carried him. |
Kobojunkie:Na me get time. You have customized your mind, too much repetitions. You don't know and you don't want to know. Good luck with your decision. |
Kobojunkie:God cannot be compared to those man-made steel or wooden gods, Christianity is not some sort of tradition, Colossians 2:16. Read Exodus 20:8 and you will understand that the ten commandments did not permit us to work on the Sabbath because it is set apart as an Holy day but Jesus disciples were accused of breaking the Sabbath law because they picked some grain and ate it as they walked through a field on the Sabbath day, Mark 2:23. But Jesus reply whenever they accuse Him always baffled them because He always explained that the intention is what matters. Mark 2:24-28, 24. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25. And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26. How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27. And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: All the law was made for our comfort not to crucify us. If Jesus was simply a law keeper like you are assuming, He would have justified His disciples by saying, they were not working on the Sabbath, they were just eating because they were hungry and the law did not say it was mandatory to fast on the Sabbath day but instead He expanded the law and gave it a new interpretation. Jesus is not just any man, He is God Himself, He was the one that gave the law to man in the first place and He has come to world to explain the intention of the law. The law of God is a law of Love because the whole excess of the law is Love, He wants us to Love God genuinely by living in peace and harmony among ourselves. Stop concentrating on the law alone like the Pharisees and Sadducees did. John 13:34-35, Let Love be your focus because those 100 prophets or commandments, can only be achieved when you Love God and you cannot say you Love God if you don't Love your neighbours. |
Kobojunkie:Jesus did not break the law but He did not live according to the expectations of Pharisees and Sadducees. He expanded the law and gave them a new interpretation for the law. |
Kobojunkie:Act 23: 1-5, Apostle Paul corrected himself when he criticized an High Priest unknowingly. Pride goes before a fall. If I have not corrected, this might have not been recorded against you. You have made your decision. |
Kobojunkie:This days it seems God is only in Nigeria, some Nigerians are giving new meaning to sin day by day, they are now trying to dictate what sin is to God, to same God that created the laws. Matthew 5:20, Luke 12:1, You are sounding like the pharisees and sadducees, they knew the laws so well and they were following it blindly, they even accused Jesus of breaking the law a lot of times because He reacted differently in certain situations, not according to the law (meaning their interpretation of the law). This teaches us that every situation should has it own specific reaction. Jesus even ate on the same table with the tax collectors and sinners, Matthew 9:10-13. Those programs they are doing are means of evangelism, as long as they are winning souls for God, God will be happy with them. This is the 21st century, there are ways to go about things, a lot of people need to be encouraged to come to Church, this entertainments you hear of are just means of encouraging people. Go through all these verses below and you will realise that you are very wrong. Matthew 9:2-7 Matthew 22:15-22 Mark 2:23-28 Luke 7:39-50 Luke 11:37-41 Luke 14:1-6 John 8:3-11 If you really love God you will not be criticising His Pastor, you are just a law abiding Christian, you don't understand the excess of Love. The teaching of Jesus is based on Love because Love is above the law? The law was created for Love to reign, it was not created to put us in a box, it was created to guide us so that we will be conscious of what sin is. Your major focus should be on Love not on the laws because you can follow the laws and still be a sinner, you might just be keeping the laws to make Heaven, it is possible that you are not even be interested in loving your neighbours but God wants us to Love our neighbours genuinely because when we love our neighbours we are indirectly following the laws. Matthew 37-40. Having the knowledge of these things have helped me a lot when I'm in situations where I have to pick between Love and law, the mid-wives picked Love over law, they spared the lives of the Hebrew baby boys including Moses, they lied to the king to save the babies and God even blessed them but a foolish Christian would have refused to lie, obeyed the king and killed the babies. If we are God we will have condemned everybody to the extend that nobody will be left on earth. When the Bible said we should fear God, the Bible is not telling us to see God as a terrifying being. God wants us to Love Him and He wants our Love for Him to lead us to obey and fear Him. If somebody Loves God, the person will be scared of disobeying or dishonouring God, the person will definitely want God to be pleased with Him/Her. God did not instill fear into us instead God gave us freewill, He gave us a chance to find Him and come to Him ourselves. Out of Love, He gave us Pastors to tell us about Him and direct us to Him so that we can find Him easily. Pastor advertise God to us and use different methods to attract us to God, Ephesians 4:11-12. Remember Jesus Christ died for us 2,000 years old before we even existed, so even if we are working hard and putting in enough effort to please God, we need to understand that we are not doing God a favour, it is our compulsory obligations, we are not allowed to boast because salvation is a gift not a wage for the works we are doing or the work we have done, Ephesians 2:9. Mark my words, if you keep insulting Pastor Adeboye and other anointed men of God before the end of this month, you will see the rot of God. |
Kobojunkie:Well said but can you show me anywhere in the Bible where God made man a judge over His High Priest, Prophets, Pastors or Apostles. God did not permit us to judge any human being talkless of a Pastor. As long as He is chosen by God, he answers to God not man. |
Kobojunkie:Act 23: 1-5, If Apostle Paul could correct himself when he criticized an High Priest unknowingly, who are you to criticize a man of God? Apostle Paul would have been right if he was not addressing an High Priest. If these was coming from a non-christian, I wouldn't have been troubled. But you are a Christian, you should understand that matters like this can only be treated in the Church of God or among Christians. Can your words win souls or change things? What exactly is your message? Should Christians stop attending Church or start criticising their Pastors? Or are you trying to create division in the Church of God? I don't get the message. It is only God that knows who will make Heaven, a Pastor might not make Heaven and majority of his members will make Heaven, it is not for us to decide, everything is the hands of God, only do what He sent you, win souls. |
Kobojunkie:You did exactly what I want. At least, you have shown me a sign that you are indeed a human being, you did not repeat your words this time. You acknowledging that Jesus Christ is God means you identify yourself as a Christian. But as Christians, there are certain principles we have to follow. As a Christian you don't have to participate in insulting Pastors. Apart from the fact that it is a sin, some things are better handled in the Church. There are people of other religions on this forum, if you as a Christian is insulting a Pastor, what you expect non-christians to do? What will you gain by doing this? Are your words going to change the decisions of Pastors or win souls? What exactly is your point? Ephesians 4:11-12 11. He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Pastors are the representatives of God on earth, God appointed them for a reason and He appointed them by Himself, He did not seek our consent before He appointed them, so if God wants to scold them, He will scold them directly not through us. Read your Bible can well, whenever God servants or chosen ones (example David) do things that are wrong, God punishes them by Himself. God doesn't permit anybody to punish or criticize them, instead He even punishes people that criticize or tries to punish them. Whether you believe a Pastor is right or wrong that is not what matters. Pride goes before a fall, even Apostle Paul corrected himself when he criticized an High Priest. Act 23: 1-5. Beloved, I did not plan on replying you again but my heart will not let be. I'm not a saint either but we have to weigh some things before we do them. |
Kobojunkie:I just hope I'm not replying a bot. |
Kobojunkie:Modified If you are a Christian, then this information is for you. It is a sin to criticize a Pastor. Even if you do not believe the Pastor, don't criticize the pastor, leave the Pastor to God. (Number 12:1-15) Verse 9 "The anger of the Lord burned against them, and he left them". Moses was wrong in the eyes of the people but not in the eyes of God, even if he was wrong in the eyes of God, God will not permit anybody to critize him. He will prefer to be the one to punish him. God does not allow anybody to criticize His Pastors, repent now before it is too late. God even punished Moses siblings, Miriam and Aaron because of Moses. Moses was not happy that they were punished, he had to beg God on their behalf. We have to be careful so that we don't see the rot of God and so that we don't sin against the Holy Spirit. Our words can make us or break us, some people are being punished by God but they don't know, they will just be seen calamities befallen them. (1 Samuel 26:1-9), Verse 9 "And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the Lord's anointed, and be guiltless?” (1 Samuel 26:9). I think I need to state this, I am a Christian but I am not a member of RCCG. |
juman:We Africans tend to have a cultural mentality. Why don't people mock children that lost their fathers? When children are young their mates can insult them with such things and it even depends on the kind of environment they are staying but those insults will stop when they are older or will adults insult themselves with such things? When the child is an adult, he/she will know how to handle such situation, he/she can claim his/her father is dead or take someone else as his/her father. I have seen cases like that. There are mothers that even go to the extend of lying to their children that their father is dead. I have also seen severally cases, where children personally refuse to accept the father that abandoned them. There is a case like that going on presently. The father denied the baby, the sister of the guy accommodated the pregnant lady in her house but the lady ran away days after delivering the baby. His sister took over his own responsibility. Now that the girl has finished secondary school he wants to claim her but the girl does not want to have anything to do with him, she does not even want his help. The girl is very brilliant, she wants to study medicine and her aunt has been seeking help for her. I did not even know my paternal grandparents, my paternal grandfather died before I was born but my paternal grandmother died when I was still young, I cannot even remember meeting her. |
juman:Everybody is different, there are some children that refuse to see fathers even when they show up on their own. |
Conwarden:Exactly |
sharone21:Do you by any means know the lady? Do you know more than what he said? I am also a lady but I don't support cheating. Are you saying it is right for a lady to cheat a guy? Why on earth did she deceive him and allow him spend on a child that she doesn't want him to be a father to. He played his fatherly role, he has not done anything bad. Why are people fond of putting the blame on the guy alone? He did not rape her, they are both adults, what they had was consexual sex. I will repeat this again, I have seen cases like this in Nigeria and abroad. Some men have been granted a right of access so that they can have regular contact with their child. He should try to beg the lady and her mother but if they refuse, he still has a choice left. From the way you speak it seems you don't know how court works. It will better for her not to try to disobey the order of the court, all courts knows how to enforce their order, they are not just there for decorations. She will be at the losing end if she tries to disobey the courts order, she could be fined or the court might even decide a retrial of the case. |
