aktopgun:Well you would have thought that responsibility for who is doing what would have been clearly spelt out in the various statutes establishing all these parastatals. So we have a situation where the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. How they think that helps us beats me A case in point Soludo will say one thing only for the Minister of Finance to overrule him because he did not consult with him before making his pronouncements so where i beg is the independence of the CBN? I cannot imagine a situation where the Governor of the Bank of England will need to take permision form the Chancellor of the Exchequer to raise or reduce interest rates as the cae may be or Bernard Benanke takes permission from George Bush before he decides what is in the best interest of the American economy Power is like is a tiger if you ride it anyhow you will soon find yourself inside the belly of the tiger. A word for all our politicians, bureaucrats and technocrats alike who like to go on a power trip every now and then! |

aktopgun:Hmnn you will need the price to try and break N26.5 twice in which case you will have a 'double tops' which means it has tried breaching the N26.5 twice without success and hence your 'double tops' it has only done this once since coming off TS so we still need a few more trading sessions to make a definite judgement You will also need the price to go below the N25 mark twice to form a 'double bottoms' to determine if that is actually a support for the stock from the charts i'm ooking it has only done this once since TS so a few more trading sessions will be needed plus what your candles say before we can determine the resistance @Pumping777 You are right about the BUY signal generated a few trading session ago the RSI broke the 30 mark a few days ago which would have sent the stock to the OVERSOLD territory. The divergence between the 12 and 26 EMA is negative meaning the stock is trading below its 26-Day EMA and the momentum is showing zero meaning we cant make a judgement as to the strength of the trend we are looking without a few more days of trading data I think for now Afribank is WATCH for a few more days! |
Salvage:That is not strictly true. The man still owns 75% of Dangote flour and if i'm correct he has only floated 25% of the company which means he still owns 15B shares and i'm sure he couldnt have been selling the shares i mean the volumes involved is nothing compared to what he owns so i guess is one other shareholder that is just locking in profits before us less mortals receive our 'pali' Dont forget for you to incorporate a public company you need at least 2 shareholders right? so i guess its the 'other' shareholder that is trying to jump-start the price before the action starts ![]() I'm not aware of any PP for this one so i think its a minimal number of shareholders invloved in the 'saga' that is playing out before our own 'korokoro' eyes |
pumping777:Afribank has already made 91% of their projected FY PAT in Q3 so i guess that one don leave station. To gatecrash a seat for train wey don leave station go dey a bit tricky o! |
pumping777:Action for Q2 never start as we never reach that time period. What will happen is the rull will continue for a few more days or weeks and then when the thing don dey cool down small peeps fit enter. But as FO2 talk the action go start for Q3 proper at least that way we know if they will meet their projections or not. I fit commot profit in few days go somewhere else and come back when they are ready to release the Q3 results sometime during the summer/autumn. Wifey and son dey fully on board sha so i no sure say dey go allow make i commot sef before we reach Australia ![]() |
pumping777:I'm talking about the rally for the 1Q '08 results! I no mention say the price go sustain bull-run till December '08 Haba oga pumping777? i no dey speak japanese now ![]() Anyone that needs to enter will just have to wait till the hype generated by the bullish 1Q '08 results begin to wane but the bull-run run for 1Q don start! Still need to check the candles though to confirm |
FatherOF2:He be like you dey a bit a slow on that one o!Action for Oceanic don already start. They released 1Q '08 PAT of N8.8B so that puts them on course to do PAT ~N32B by year end as you can see the price gained ~N0.50 yesterday. If they are going to be reporting FY for December '08 according to the new uniform reporting periods for banks it means they will be reporting 15 months for FY '08 which even makes it better! Aktopgun you still dey for cockpit? tell your co-pilot make he dey translate wetin you dey talk ![]() |
yodiyokun:I think say Aktopgun still dey cockpit for Oceanic jetliner just dey check sha since you have decided to start speaking japanese. I beg make sure the co-pilot fit translate because wifey don talk am say we no dey disembark until we get to Australia ![]() |
FatherOF2:The thing be say we no get time so which one FO2? |
pumping777:I don go get japanese dictionary for that one sef ![]() |
yodiyokun:Even if i get P O Box i no go fit enter plane go collect the mail for naija ke abi? the waiting list for the gulf-stream wey i order dey as long as my arm ![]() So what sayest thou FO2? |
FatherOF2:Na im be say you don go consult dictionary be dat so wetin you see FO2?wetin you carry? wetin you see? |
loma:One personality for PP and another for trading on the floor. I hope say una no go kill person with laughter for this forumseriously laughing my head off here |
FatherOF2:That na wetin Aktopgun and other psychiatrists on n'land dey call SCHIZOPHRENIA i think i get the spelling right abi? sorry i never consult Oxford dictionary yet ![]() |
@elder Napoleon That your thesis na Harvard-business school standard. Oga ju! I think there's only one 7-star hotel in the whole universe somewhere in Dubai i think. I go give your thesis the second ******* ![]() But i dey fear you small o elder Napoleon! How you come get access to the details of the eminent lawyer wey fill IPO form? Na wa o! I 'm just slowly digesting the 'gist' of your article i'm a slow digester ![]() Need to read it a few more times! |
yodiyokun:O ga ju! There is a difference between the eagles and the chickens Everybody sabi him level o |
windywendy:At least GoldLink is not going on TS soon makes it more attractive at the minute! How many shares were listed for GoldLink Anyone? |
yodiyokun:I think its a case of three coming off TS and another three filling the gap ![]() |
wanaj0:Marshall na wa o! Buy first ask question lata. Make you kuku download all the tori for us make small boyz like us follow you go clean mouth now I dey interested o!I beg better thing no go pass you by o! |
Rhemagirl:If the post you are looking for is not on the page when you click the reply button go back to the home page and click on the name of the poster whose post you want to reply to and select Show the last posts for this person and then select the post you want to reply to and click Ouote and Bob's your uncle! |
FatherOF2:You still get time for gym? Well i suppose if you CI on Mondays and CO on Fridays that leaves your saturdays free for gymnastics ![]() |
wanaj0:Which will be within striking distance of those who still want to 'ride' on this donkey that nobody has ever ridden on before all the way triumphantly into JERUSALEM and for moi who is still looking for more! |
pumping777:Hmnnnn funny thing is both banks have a projected PAT of around ~N32B and actually Oceanic will have a lower forward PE ratio. Going forward the problem for Oceanic is i dont see any more room for growing PAT while the indomitable elephant has a N250B war-chest to grow PAT so Oceanic will have to do a share reconstruction at some point to justify having 22B shareholers! Once the market starts to price in this scenario we may a see an upside to trading but dont expect the trend is going to be sustainable in the long-run. The stock is at best good for the long-term |
pumping777:SCOA is an interesting one though. PAT for FY'06 was N705M from a loss of N862M in '05. This is a classic example of a company in turn-around. It has a trailing PE ratio of ~7.66 and the market has recognised and this has been duly priced in as we can see from the the way its been trading. Its fundamentally as strong as you can get anywhere on the NSE. This is another Dunlop in the making! It also helps that the directors have kindly recommended a dividend of 10K ![]() Spot on Pumping777! |
easimoni:And UBA is in pole-position to manage our $54B external reserves from some of the reports i have read |
easimoni:The banks have managed to come up with about $350M out of a total requirement of about $5B per annum ![]() I assume the govt is going to plug the gap. Our banks still have a long way to go! |
aktopgun:Men those guys are going somewhere a whopping ~N1.80 bring it on ![]() |
aktopgun:If in doubt just get in touch with madam Ndidi's PA and talk like you have more money than sense she will sort you out quick quick ![]() |
